College Football Dynasty Week 10 16 Oregon Vs Purdue (CPU Game)

we let's get it even do too much talking hello everyone and welcome to Aon Stadium home of the Oregon Ducks and the house of loud a place where great teams go to die today a big 10 clash and you know when you square off against a conference opponent the blood boils a little hotter as we'll see the Purdue boiler makers taking on the 16th rank team in the the Oregon dcks for EA Sports college football I'm Rees Davis David Po and Jesse Palmer with me guys it's time to get it [Music] [Applause] going the boiler makers will kick it away to start us off and no chance at a return here they'll start this drive at their own 25 so Oregon's offense will get the first swing of the game and there he is a man who makes an entire Stadium hold it breath every time he touches the ball Jesse this defense better have a lot of breath in this game too cuz he gets better as the game goes on he's the kind of guy David who can wear a defense down and he is the primary focus that's what this defense is f and ke in on we got to stop him if we're going to have success today I think a big part of this isn't necessarily scoring a touchdown on that play you're just trying to get your offensive line in the rhythm of the game let those Big Fellas get lathered up wide out in motion more will throw looking to the big tight end that has intercepted got some room to run he's at the T and he is taking it all the way [Applause] back after that not the start this quarterback wanted you're going to have to be really good about having a shortterm memory and just turn the page there's tons of football here to be played you made a big mistake on that last throw don't let it beat you for the rest of this football game you got a lot of ball left to play you got to keep going he'll bring it back from inside is sp he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 and Oregon has it back and here comes the offense the big thing now don't get rattled by that last pick six David and that defense gets to him and down he goes at the nine they're trying to dig out of the hole on second and long from the nine he's looking to throw and the pressure is coming in and they get him again well the defense has the opponent backed up in their own end and they are pinning their ears back getting after the quarterback do you see the athleticism and the speed they have up front as they're able to notch that sack and the Ducks decide to pun it away three and out and not much choice but to get rid of the ball and they'll bring him down to get the offense started on the next Drive the Boer making off will go to work for the first time as we take a look at our impact players for this game David what do you look for to make an impact from your leaders your leaders not only have to lead the football team but they got to step up and make plays on the field keep everybody calm these guys typically do a really good job of it yeah David and they also generally set the tone for their respective football teams regardless of which side of the ball they play on the teammates look towards them to step up in big games like this this has a second down play he's looking to throw he's got the tie end they make the tackle at the 22 we'll give him five yards on the play it'll be enough for a first down these routs have some reads and adaptability built in and the big fella found that cushion and made the play man it's so awesome how much offenses have evolved they know exactly what they're getting where to sit down quarterback tight end on the same page gets the first down trying to find his man on first [Applause] down coming after it and he finally went down you can't expect to be protected for that long just tremendous coverage by the defense so now on second and you start to think just don't fall out of field goal range going to run it it's mobe they make the stop but not before he takes a chunk out of what they need to move the sticks this crowd knows this defense needs them right now on Third and long trying to have a big completion here he's got it in the end zown Boer makers and it's so underrated the relationship between a QB and a wide receiver the timing the ability to know where he's going to be and ACC theball that's lead well the chemistry between these two guys has to be great when you're thr into the end because coverage is going to be tight the throw might not be perfect but this is something these two guys have been repping in practice over and over and over and just paying dividends now game the Ducks ready to go back to work on offense to say this has been a slow start is a bit of an understatement and they really need to get it going here Jesse that's right the opponent they're firing on all cylinders right out of the gate offensively for this unit they've been slow and struggling they need an explosive play to wake themselves out yeah and it's just the first quarter so it's not the end of the world you've seen slow starts but you got to continue to pick and pick and pick until you find that play or that scheme that you can use against this defense picked up two yard on that last one they need eight on second down one step WRA twep squeeze this junior knows how to get him on the ground third down conversions are a huge stat and this one would be a doozy if they can pull it off more to the air and a missed opportunity on third down as the defense knocks it free and fourth down is coming up the Ducks send out the punt unit this will be the second time they've had to kick it away and the punt team able to sling him to the ground the boiler makers have it back and here comes the offense DAV they'd love to do what they did last time and put this one in the end zone you ain't lying they did a great job the offense was clicking everything went well Palmer they executed and got the touchdown and they really were in a nice Rhythm as well I'd love to see that here on the next drive too just keep doing what you're doing everything seems to be working and you seem to have this defense on their heels a negative play to open the Drive let's see what they've got on second and 14 he's looking to throw fires to the middle te makes a catch knocked off his feet I like this tight end he does a really nice job on his route run he's been beating man coverage he can find the soft spots and zones got to get him involved Here Comes This Home crowd as the defense tries to get off the field on third down they'll try to get it through the air and that pass is intercepted and they'll drag him down after a good return on the interception and I tell you what when defenses Play Zone All Eyes run you have a Zone to drop to you're setting on the quarterback reading his eyes great job by the defense understanding the ball was coming out breaks on the football goes and makes the he is stopped behind the line of scrimmage they'll lose yards on that one couldn't get him blocked on that last one now it's second and 14 spits it out to the back pulls it in it's Whittington really confident throw and catch there big pick up and they have a first down the ducks have taken it inside the 20 off play action on first down moving keeping the eyes down fi stopes into traffic intercepted that's bringing it back's 50 he's at the [Applause] 30 the defense put six on the board with a big time interception return they've got the lead in trying to put this one in a hammerlock here in week 10 let's go to the studio now and check in with Kevin Conor Kevin what do you got week in and week out guys you never know what's going to happen in college football check this out Missouri is currently trailing in this one but it feels like the tide may be tur this progr has picked itself up before and it's capable of it again today it's a touchdown game they're trailing by seven to Oklahoma for now it's back to you fellas but of course if anything changes you'll see it right here and how about that one Kevin will be keeping an eye on everything going on elsewhere this could have the ear marks of a wasted drive if they don't come up with something on and he will be sacked at the 6yd line looks as if we have an injury on that last play and we'll take a break to check him out you make up the game plan and not a lot on the play sheet for this third and long from inside their own 20 unloads to the wide out and the pass is picked off and he's wrapped up after a solid return on the pick third and Africa is extremely difficult when I know it's a passing situation I get to rush the and pin my ears back I get to put more DBS on the field to drop back and really play pass coverage you can tell the offense was trying to force it trying to get that first down makes the big mistake keeping it on the ground on first and goal only a short gain on that run defense played it [Applause] well that's the end of the period and Purdue has the lead they wanted to strike first and strike hard and been able to do that here in the first quarter as we take a look at the stats just about ready to get things started here in the second we'll see if they continue to flex that muscle they'll try to open this quarter by sticking it in the end zone here got it back on second and goal that and he'll be stopped for No Gain still sitting at the three yd line they love to make this short field pay off with a touchdown instead of a field goal but it's third and goal the give man they were all over him nowhere to go as that third down play turned into a disaster they've decided to try to go for the field goal here it's good easy call for the refs and now the lead is extended a little they're really starting to extend that lead as they get ready to kick it away again he'll start the return inside his five he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 and Oregon has it back and here comes the offense they face a pretty tall mountain here Jesse down 24 but if they're going to climb it this is a good time to start sense of urgency has got to be big right here you just get the feeling at this point of the game David they've got a score on this drive obviously their defense needs to get stops but nothing but green ahead inside the 40 he flips his field in an instant and he's got him set up at the 20 and the ducks come to the line in the hurry [Applause] up they're going to go right back to him on first down got some room headed to the go line and he Wales in for the score touchdown Oregon and after the extra point they're now down 24 to7 that drive a great example of just how potent this offense can be two plays 80 yard give him the touchdown and as the ball makes its way into the end zone it'll be a Touchback they'll bring it out to the 25 the Purdue offense heads back out to the field and to settle for the Chip Shot field goal last time Jesse they'd love for this one to pay off bigger yeah it just comes down execution too did a nice job out in the field stalled a little bit once they got down to the goal line so they just need to be a little bit more crisp here yeah and listen I think the first part was the most important part you got to put the drive together first to get down there now when we get down there focus on execution and getting six points they'll run the option and maybe a wise move not to even try the pitch as he's knocked down in the back field this is where you make the money on the drive ball at the 30 it's third and short from the gun wants to pass he's got his man love to see these third down conversions on offense and they're out to their own 39 yd line the boiler makers will snap it on First and 10 he wants to throw unloads it left tremendous awareness along the sideline and the ability to get the foot down for the big pick up it is so good for an offense early in the game get in a rhythm to start stringing first downs together it makes the game really easy and puts that defense in a situation where they're starting to get tired they want to sub they want to get other guys first downs together like this makes it harder defend after picking up a couple it's second and eight the give to the right they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one that linebacker saw the express lane right to the ball carry and a great job by the defensive line getting push making them use their resources on him line the back for will out of they're in the red zone and they'll pass itag over the middle Mak the catch down back dropping back understanding I'm getting Zone coverage all I got to be a little bit patient manipulate that defense a little bit my wide receiver runs that drag and I get the first it's mobe good throwing catch takes it down to the five as the offense tries to cash in TI quarters deep in the Red Zone but they can pick up a first down without scoring third down they're trying to get to it and the heat gets there and they get him down at the 14 yd line now on fourth down here comes the field goal team didn't make him sweat at all it's good and that lead grows even bigger they keep pushing that lead out and the kickoff team's getting some work here he comes from inside his own five he only needs a sliver of daylight he is Electric in the return game and that one has the offense set up nicely okay so here comes the offense returning to the field these guys have taken some body blows in the first half but now a chance to do something to feel a little better going into halftime re they got to respond now they got to put points on the board right here cut into this deficit create a little bit of momentum because this one's going to get out of hand otherwise yeah there are a lot of offenses out there that might just say okay let's just regroup and figure it out this offense doesn't have time to do that they've got to be aggressive they've got to throw it down field they've got to score points D reacted well attemp but just couldn't squeeze the football instead of the turnover it'll be third down they line up and it is a long way to the sticks from here that's reeled in it's Whittington the defense going to stop the clock with the timeout they want to make sure they have everybody on the same page really good job by the defense understanding third down the situation of the game I play a little bit deeper take away the sticks react to Shorter I got to go get him on the ground now nice job making the tackle but playing the down distance first now forcing a for they'll get the first down it's spotted on the 49 the Ducks will hustle to the line they'll throw it on first down trying to get rid of it just couldn't find an open man he'll get rid of it and it'll be second down and this is why this team is losing this game they cannot protect their quarterback he's already been sacked a bunch of times almost got sacked right there this guy doesn't have a chance with the way this offensive line is playing the incompletion brings up a second down quarterback checking the play they want to just keep throwing it he tries to take the top off incomplete he had to get rid of it before he wanted to the defense put the heat on this is going to be a key that we look at this entire game how can this defense find ways to affect this quarterback and get pressure on because they felt coming into the game if they could do that they could affect him and influence this passing game and sure tackling there to keep him from getting to the first down marker on fourth down they'll throw for it looking left damn and it's pick off for the third he'll go down right there but what a big play to come up with that turnover a first down for the offense easy God damn they're going to open this drive with a pass fires to the big fell shakes off the defender man you see those tight ends catch the football you're coming up and try to get on the ground as fast as they can those such big athletes though you got to you got to pick your pois a lot of times you try to go low and they H you put that hand down nice job he's run out of bounds but he's got enough to move the sticks here they come first and 10 from the 48 defense might bring the house here looking to go up top on first down oh what a grab by the defense this is obviously not a great start for this quarterback here two interceptions already in this game he's got to do a much better job with his decision the duck ready to go back to work on offense he leaves it with the back boy they've been caught in a buzz saw here in the first half but maybe a chance to carry some momentum into the break here it all comes down to this drive right here Reese obviously this offense hasn't had everything go right for them in the first half but here's an opportunity David to execute some plays put some throws together and generate some points and you're right Jesse and this offense needs to start now like we got to get some points on the board create some momentum and continue it because you've dug yourself a significant hole [Applause] more will throw moving away from pressure showing to bravado throwing it back to the right and trying to put points on the board on third down now they're staring at Fourth Down The Ducks will bring the punt team onto the field I wouldn't quite call it a shank but that's not exactly going to go on the resume fa catch was called for but there is a flag on the play and we'll have to sort it out [Applause] so the offense picks up 15 yard after an egregious blunder on special team time dwindling away as they try to put points on the board right before the half looking to move it through [Applause] the yo this really oh this got and and I love this offense man staying aggressive just because you got the lead you know people can score points in bunches this offense keeps the foot on the accelerator scores again on the final play now this offense has even more of a cushion going into half first in the book time now to join Kevin Connors in our halim update for thanks guys looks like you've had an enjoyable day there today in Eugene two quarters of both sides feeling each other out and it's likely to come down to which offense can find a way to generate some big plays adjustments will be a part of it maybe it's time these typically conservative play callers open up the Playbook nothing crazy but a calculated risk here and there to try to gain an edge in what's been a stal the boil makers have it back and here comes the [Applause] offense they'll start the third quarter with the Run L man Wis smash maap that Def and he got Lo and they finally knock him down at the 41 defensively you'll take the slow down you'll take three four five yards AP pop but you can't give up the massive plays you got to do a better job containing the football making him run the guys and get him on the ground for goodness sakes this guy is fast I know but defensively we got to swarm to the football and get him on the ground and obviously this offense has had their way getting the huge lead now when you know it's a running situation later in the ball games you're still getting pounded this defense has to step up at some point and be a lot more time running out and he goes down at the 34 this defense they are tenacious and they've got guys up front that are athletic and that are so strong and then can collapse the pocket you saw it right there in that play action attempt out of the gun the inside G yo we really bring down but a solid pick up to put them in position to pick up a first down well on a second and forever situation they hand it off and they're able to get a big portion of yardage back now to at least give themselves an opportunity to convert this third down they're setting up the screen and that one looked great on the grease board but when they blow it up like that the defense is going to win every time and here comes the field goal unit this kicker has already made couple today he's got it showing off that big leg from 47 yd out that lead just keeps getting fatter in this kickoff team doing a little running and he's going to try to return this one not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 and Oregon has it back and here comes the offense he'll start this drive firing feeling some heat good job to avoid the negative play and just get rid of that thing that last incompletion leaves them with second and 10 from the 21 now the quarterback changing the original play call well you hear all the time that the tight ends the QB's best friend you saw perfect example of it on that last play right second down you need to pick up some positive yards to keep this third down man manageable really nice job of executing that motion from the offense more to the air throws to the tight ends it in off he goes lowers those pads a huge gain on that one before he ran out of bounds and he has the first down after a play like that you have to get it in the end zone on this drive T trying to cap this drive with the pass oh he the football he had him right down the gut of the field instead it'll be second down going to work in the Red Zone they can't pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone that interior defense the run for nothing the bo they' love to move the sticks here and take a shot at it on first and goal to move the chains they throw it complete to the left and he's not going to get there the defense Stands Tall and makes the stop fast motion from the offense quarterback flips in head quickly to the receiver they'll get him stopped just of the end Z but they're in here with the first down and the Ducks racing to the line in the hurry up with the the run on first and goal we don't got strong up from the junior the offense will have to use it first time out of the half now on second and [Applause] goal the give to the fullback do you do he and he takes it to the house TCH down ducks and you love giving it to the big boy right near the goal line plowing ahead you know he's going to put two hands on the football lower his shoulder second and goal you don't need third and goal thanks to the big they want to see if they can score the deuce trying to run it in and they swarm him under yeah and the defense comes up with a stop and you just wonder the analytics world and all that stuff that whatever the card to do you're supposed to do I wonder if they were listening to that c from inside his own 15 looking for room really disciplin job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 this drive will start from the 19 yd line they move the tight end all over on the ground it's movi and they try to run inside and there is nowhere to go got stuffed on first down now it's second and 10 they'll move the running back to try to force the defense to adjust didn't find a lot of room let's give him two out to the 20 man down on the play as the officials take a break to let him be checked out he's my real that's going down BR they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one on Third and long he's going to have toow for he's got an open man big big gain on that one as he STS out of bounds with a first down well how about the offense setting that play up we've seen earlier in the game a couple shorter throws just trying to suck those safeties closer to the line of scrimmage anticipating that they would get an opportunity to take a shot they called the perfect play at the perfect time right there he's got his man and the defense had that one well covered just a short game there and the short completion brings up second [Applause] down they try to pop a run on the draw they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one maybe that stop is a good sign for this defense maybe the defense has start to figure out obviously offense has been running the football with so much success something has to change that was a good start yo that'll be enough for the first down as they Mar it down down at the 31 yd line godamn the boiler makers have their offense in high gear coming out on first down with the play fake the same all kinds of room to throw that one in there D can I conceed this beat down hased that's his third touchdown pass of the day the defense has no clue how to respond right now no and the defense has had absolutely no answer he's been on the money he's been on fire making the right decisions and just carving this defense up almost ready to kick it away after scoring the touchdown and he takes this from inside the five and the returner could find no daylight he goes down the Ducks ready to go back to work on offense there certainly still a hill to climb they've got to make sure these drives pay off got a touchdown last time can they back it up here well and it's amazing in a football game how sometimes they'll surprise you with what you do once you get settled you realize what's going on now I'm comfortable with it Jesse this offense looked comfortable in this last Drive they sure did it looked like they started to find some momentum so now it's on this defense to stop that all right you're a little bit upset based on what just happened the previous drive you've got to Bow up again and go back to what was working ear in this G got three on first down it's second and seven keeps it on the boot bag looking to throw quickly complete they make the stop but not before they do their work up top and pick up a first down quarterback changing the plays at the [Applause] line that's the end of the period and Purdue has the lead let's take a quick look at the national rankings to see how this playoff race is shaping up so will the beat down continue or is this a comeback for the ages in store we'll see as we start the fourth leaves it with the running back found enough room to get it into enemy territory there down at the 43 yd line the Ducks will line it up on First and 10 Mo will throw he's going to let it go and he pulls it in inside the 15 yd line touchdown Oregon and once he found some daylight it was time to make a house call and he knocks the extra point through the uprights a very efficient five play scoring drive and they close the deal from 43 yd out with a touchdown pass from inside his own 15 trying to follow his blockers he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 the Purdue offense heads back out to the field that last touchdown Drive was surgical through the air Jesse it sure was and that's why this offense is so dangerous David because they can score in a hurry because of how efficient they are throwing the football and welcome to Modern college football that's what it is spread you out my Playmakers make quick decisions and really put defenses in a difficult situation to give as they work on that clock tackle was made at the 28 after a pick up of three looking for that first down on Third and short from the 28 from the gun wants to pass quick strike complete still on his feet at the 45 all kinds of Running Room bro there's no way like the that's happening is [Music] crazy is this the AI points this offense has had their way they just keep their foot on the gas keep putting up points keep putting up touchdowns and you know what this is one of those stats days you look back and you're like that guy had 12 touchdowns on the well five of them might have been in this game and Oregon has it back and here comes the offense he wants to start this drive with a pass and that'll be incomplete they tried to hit him with a big one on first down couldn't make the connection last time let's see if they throw it again more to the air pocket he hurls one deep down the left side catch inside the 25 and he's brought down after a huge completion the Ducks are in the hurry up these got 50 they're looking to pass from the Red Zone and the Freshman will CH up a sack they gave up the sack on first down now it's second and 11 he looking to throw fires into the end zone and he can't find his man as he was trying to pay off this Red Zone opportunity well they take a shot down the field it's another incompletion it's really been that kind of story this defense has made this guy earn it every single play really small Windows to throw into one touchdown pass that's a little bit surprising you thought maybe they'd have more in this game trying to move the sticks on third down through the air can't make the grab as he was looking for his man right at the Go line yeah give me f well this guy must feel like he's running into a buzz saw in this game he has been under duress all game long and that's a big reason why he's thrown multiple interceptions in the game too nothing coming easy to him it's hard to see the field when your internal clock is going off so fast because of the pressure of this defense and that's why they find themselves down by so much here in the fourth and he'll take it in for the touchdown won't have much impact on the outcome of the game but it is aous a lot of losses you just want to burn the tape you don't want to watch it but I think there are some things that they can take into next week from this performance no doubt offens is about finding your Rhythm finding your groove what you do well and you can tell at least now starting to get a little something something going and maybe you can do it and the return man has no place to run no place to hide and a place to be tackled looking for a productive play on first down they're going to run it to the right he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three defense uses a timeout quickly trying to get that ball back and preserve time for their offense not what they had in mind to start this drive here comes second and 13 the give to the back he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three we reached the two-minute warning in this this offense will be quite content just to drain the rest of the time away and the running game has collapsed so far on this drive and now it's third down how about the defender being a heat seeking missile he was on radar he found the football and flew down with some bad intentions running it back it's low really good job by the coverage team to make the stop where they'll put it in play the Ducks ready to go back to work on offense not a l to feel great about in this with Jesse but I'm sure they'll try to seek out some positive this might be an opportunity Tu to go back when they watch this game and just find the plays and the schemes that we're working weren't a lot obviously David but maybe an opportunity for the coaching staff to condense the playb a little I was going to say there's not a lot of good to go back to that' be a quick film s another interception that's his fourth of the day and they'll close in him after a good return on the interception this is a beautiful situation for the defense when you're up by two plus scores and you're in this situation you know exactly what is coming it's going to be a pass they have to because the clock is their enemy great job playing pass forcing the interception almost putting the nail in the call well they say you
