Everyone's favourite furniture shop, IKEA, has announced it will buy back thousands of pieces of used IKEA furniture. Prolonging the life of products, maximising the value of materials and keeping them in circulation for as long as possible at their highest possible use. The buyback will happen in 27 countries across the globe, including Australia, and we'll see the furniture used for resale, recycling or a donation to community projects. So this is a really good example of something that we would buy back. The Black Friday event will run from November 24 to December 3. Anyone selling their pre-loved IKEA items will get a voucher worth up to 50 per cent of the original price. It keeps things out of the dumpster and keeps it out of the landfill and gives people some money back to buy something that they really need. IKEA have not detailed the condition the used furniture must be in to be eligible. As part of their sustainability efforts from 2021, every IKEA store will have a dedicated destination where people can sell back their old furniture and find repaired or refurbished furniture.
