all right welcome in everybody we're going to get started here in just one moment uh we have folks with us in the room and folks with us online we're going to go straight to questions and we'll start with questions uh in the room if you are on the zoom and you would like to record let us know we will allow that if you have a question use the raise your hand feature and we'll get it asked we're going to start right here Jonathan thanks go we haven't come to you much after this year I realized at all but what what about this one and about the Way Washington delivered it stood out to you yeah I mean I think the game was decided in the in the first half obviously we go on halftime two- Z after what I thought was a very good performance by us uh it wasn't uh uh that we got broken down or like they had uh uh many new opportunities in the first half uh they you they had two shots two goals uh which one was after mistake and uh on our part uh where on the other side uh I felt like we we created enough to at least score one goal but we didn't capitalize on it and when you play a team like uh like the Spirit uh that you miss on your own opportunities and you give them a little space they're going to punish you second half obviously we we wanted to uh get a little more aggressive they were a little more conservative and uh that that's basically what happened like I said uh first half was uh where the game was decided you Scout plan all the tape that there has been of them all year Lacy Santos comes in and adds a different Dynamic to them how do you for that yeah I but I I got to say I don't think there there was much that uh herself I mean she did I think she's a great player but if you look at this the first half I don't know if there is someone you can you can point out that that did well they scored great two great goals on two opportunities and that's a sign of a of a good team they they they don't need five six seven opportunities you give them a little uh a little opportunity and they'll punish you so for us I think this is a great learning opportunity because uh with this uh now we we learn that uh we have to be on 90 minutes every little thing that we do every run that we make every every pass uh every uh oneon-one challenge everything matters because uh this is type of Team type of teams uh we're going to face if we go in the playoffs more questions in the room uh and when I call on you if you could just identify yourself and who you're with sure Roy haar scripts news uh I guess black first uh I'm interested in just sort of the take away from this game in terms of learning opportunities thinking especially on the defensive end seemed like a lot of counterattacks transitions ended up being the uh you know end up steing the deal in this game uh you know going forward how do you keep this defense structured and coordinated uh and preventing the B going yeah I mean both uh uh both goals uh every goal is are preventable both goals I thought they were we go back on the on the drawing board and see what was it that uh that uh we could have done different going forward and uh and learn from it uh but like I said one uh one of the biggest learning uh moments for us was uh how uh how good teams uh punish you with the little thing that you that you give them and then uh well just a question for you about sort of the player mindset here I know you've been through a lot of ups and downs with this club you a lot of UPS this season for the most part but um you know for a loss like this how do you see that motivating this team to you know to uh come back from something like this and sort of have a different approach into the last few games here the season yeah I mean as a player obviously when you look back and the ball is in the back of your net it's very humbling um it does hurt but again just like piggyback off what black was said our team played really well it's just they executed their opportunities and were clinical um so maybe that's something we can work on as well but I think we did really great I love this team I'll battle with them and we continue to battle until they got that fourth one I think we believ that we could come back so yeah it hurts but our wins our ties our losses are all learning experiences for us so we're going to take this and move forward for sure Emily ol with the athletic well this is for you I asked a similar question to this Spirit uh previously but with International breaks in the middle of the Season uh I think one of the players said like you can come in top and finish at the bottom or vice versa for players mentality how do you approach this second part of the season is it starting from zero or is it starting from somewhere trying to approach that last stretch yeah I mean I don't even think it's just after International play I think that's the nwsl in general enal that's why our league is so great the top team can lose to the bottom team any weekend um this one for sure I think we started the week blacko said like Summer's over and we're like oh you know but it was the summer cup so it makes sense weather's still great um but that's why we love this league you know coming to this first game Washington was only one point behind us so we knew it was going to be a battle um everybody I think respects each other in this league and so you go out there and you're going to give it your best because at the end of the day you know you want to win at all all right we have a question online Daniel Sperry casy star um I know you probably don't look like losing but in the way that this m this losing or this loss today kind of kick starts this stretch do you feel like it came at probably the best time that it could have in terms of just kind of setting you guys up for and kind of that wake up call of where you're back to nwl play and it's um it's back to this kind of home stretch run towards the playoffs yeah I mean uh obviously every loss uh hurts uh it's tough uh but uh this this team uh in some ways needed a little bit of adversity we want we wanted to face uh a a little bit of adversity obviously we didn't want to lose 41 to to face adversity there different ways to to face it but if this is the adversity that we need to come out of great great test for us and uh I actually uh very happy with with the players and uh I'm very proud of them too as L said like they battled all the way all the way through and uh and came out short now we have a chance uh less than a week in a week again to uh to Showcase uh you know where we at and uh and how uh how how we can we're going to get back from this thanks Daniel any other questions all right well that's it for us thanks everybody thank you next
