I told him this how this how this uh game was going to go and that's exactly how going a lot of feeding off the defense getting up and down running should run him out of the gym it's so interesting watching this team play and I think Steve Curry is doing a masterful job because the substitutions and the rotation patterns are different every game which means there's a lot of uh uh film work going into this scouting absolutely that's and that's the way you got to play when you go in international ball like that because it's so many different matchups and that's what the other coaches do depending on the matchup who you throw out there that's what they're going to go with somebody has to set the tone and um looks like USA is continuing to do that D way is doing a great job too man he really is yeah on the play by play he's got better and better each game so that that's pretty dope to see because I'll tell you it's not easy and this is like literally his first gig and uh it's it's tough too because he's friends with all these guys you know I me it's tough to be like critical on any level but also I think they respect each other for for him to be able to say what he thinks and right on over here yes man slay dog got wings oh those look good o yes yes sir re all right all right continue all right and then I went to the Alabama game in 2022 I was a part of the field rushing and that was one of the coolest things I've ever done so okay that's an interesting question what what's like maybe the best live sports moment you've been a part of that would be yours definitely for me it was Tennessee Florida in '98 um so with five minutes to go they used to allow you to go as a media member to go down to the field they still do they still do not in the NFL so um in that game I do not like to sit in the Press Box so I won't sit in the Press Box so I had a media pass which allowed me on the field with five minutes ago but I sat in the stands with my friends and so five minutes ago I go down on the field and I'm standing game goes overtime I'm standing on the field in the end zone where was it Chandler for Florida missed the field goal I was standing in that end zone um on the side of the goal post away from where he missed so the ball ball you could see when it came off his leg that the ball was spinning horizontally which means it's going right to left on a right footed kicker and and so I was standing on the opposite goal post with Brent hubs from vest.com me and him were standing there and so the kick goes up and it's spinning you can't tell hang on you can't tell that it's a Mis field goal until like the crowd on that side of the goal po started going crazy yeah and so the next thing I know is 20,000 people at least over the top of me and hubs what's up uh the Titans have placed St or potential starting Right Guard Sadiq Charles on the team's Reserve retired list whoa Reserve retired okay so he had missed the last few days of practice for personal reasons holy crap he was going to be the starting right C let me just go ahead and tell you that right so does that mean brunskill slides back over uh Dylan Raiden was I'm pretty sure the backup on the depth chart right because brunskill and Cory L were backing up at Center but brunskill had been going back and forth between the right side and Center so my guess as brunskill now will battle Raiden for the Right Guard spot that's interesting right there man I I thought that was his spot I thought that was going to sh up the right side too so what what's the name of that list officially the Tennessee Titans unofficial dep chart has uh or had I should say City Charles as the starting right guard and Dylan Raiden as his backup Daniel brunskill was the backup center yeah I'm just telling you what's going to happen moving forward but but char Charles is on the what what's the list the reserve and uh the reserve retired list Reserve retired list so does that mean he's thinking about it or does that mean it's done I mean it's I guess I would imagine it's a possibility for you to come back I'm not sure that's big news and the practices were excuse that he missed so this is from Jim Wyatt who put out the article uh Charles who missed a number of practices recently for what coach Brian Callahan called personal reasons informed the team he is walking away from the game of football wow man listen man first and foremost um whatever he's going through hope everything comes out all right blessings to him hope if if if it's family or whatever hope that gets reconciled but man um he shorted up a spot he shed up a spot and I thought with npf coming back you talked about that last week or maybe two weeks ago man that was going to have the right side looking really really good now we're back in the spin cycle we still got a little bit of money spend on might need let's reach out to a couple people man sple back in it man do Dylan Raiden man I I I like Raiden's game I thought he was also coming along but when you watch him he flashes and then it's to to me this is me my opinion it looks like it seems to be like his body looks great strong far as his core everything it seems to be two steps forward one step back every time you watch Dylan Raiden every time you watch Dylan Raiden it's something that keeps him out of that rotation um and I thought with sadique man you had something goly that's a tough spot to be in at least it happened early and a decision was made early before getting into the getting ready to go into the season man I hate that for man there got to be something strong to make you walk away from the game that you love how old how old was sadik Charles let me see let me get on there real quick sadik Charles how old are you my brother 24 years old wow he was a he started at LSU um with Floyd cushenberry back in 2019 that's tough man 25 man July 26 1999 all right well so where do we go that's the question that is the man perfect timing so let's start start with uh the story that just came down Right Guard sadii Charles put on the reserve retired list uh what what can you tell us about that situation well I can tell you that he had not been around the last couple of days informed the team that he was retiring um you know they gave him some time you know to kind of get away and and and my understanding that he reiterated his plans were to walk away from football and Brian Callahan personal reasons why he was gone the team did not release the statement I think s dick Charles if he wants to explain it he'll be the guy that'll have to do that at some point but uh what it means for the titans this is a guy who was starting right guard on the depth charge that was released yesterday someone who had worked there during the early stages of training camp and now uh the team has to figure out where to go uh with his departure uh right behind him Dylan Raiden who has worked there before Daniel brunso team starting Right Guard has really worked a lot at Center this off season behind Lloyd cushenberry I would expect him to kind of be back in the mix at Right Guard and and um and let you know coach Bill Callahan you know put those guys to work and find the best guy for the Chicago Bears opener on September the 8th so it's a surprise I think you know not something I was expecting to hear um today and um certainly um not ideal when you've got a guy who who who really done well and I really a nice kid he he's talked to us in media sessions after practice very engaging young man young man was happy to be here really happy to be learning from Bill Callahan but just decided that um he he was done playing football so where do we go now at Right Guard do you think that brunskill gets more time um and maybe in competition with uh Dylan Raiden at Right Guard with Cory Levan the backup center yeah that's I would expect yeah I would expect uh those guys to be in the competition we'll see if anybody else enters them next Jim Wyatt Tennessee titans.com atj Wyatt sports with us on 3hl so when you're watching it Jimmy man who is somebody that you think is stuck out um for you when you're looking at that that second unit get the run with Mason Rudolph or even maybe the third um when you get getting guys with Malik as they those guys are kind of rotating when I'm speaking about the offensive line I know Dylan Raider's body looks really really good coming off of um his year um who who steps out um immediately for you yeah man I think you know Raiden obviously is is someone they have been excited about uh you know over the last you know since he's kind of gotten gotten healthy and now he's got to prove himself that you because there's clearly a spot that's available and uh I expect Bill Callahan to work himim get the most out of him this is not ideal again because I think deque Charles was the projected starter and uh and I think I think a lot of people felt like he'd win that job so you're when you lose somebody like that you're losing a guy who potentially could start but then your your hurt your depth takes a shot as well I I I I feel like they have confidence in in Raiden but I think they also have confidence in brunskill who who was the starter last year so it's not like the covers fa and um and and now um and I think maybe Ron you said it earlier before I came on I mean you better it's better to have it happen now than it happen the week at opener and then you're scrambling you still got a month to get ready you've got three preseason games you got joint practices next week I mean there's plenty of time to get guys um you know ready to go and at the same time you know we still need to see what happens at right tackle there as well that that's another Factor you got to consider is as Nicholas patite barer just came back to practice now he needs to start developing with somebody right next to him that is absolutely right Jim and um you know when we were going through the summer and they started to get Acquisitions guys like lero Watson and people like that maybe they could be swing players um now it looks like good job for stockpiling all these offensive linemen so um it's gonna be interesting to see how they came how it goes about what about coming out of the weekend Jim there was um practice Saturday and Sunday family and friends and attendance was it anyone that stuck out um outside of the NWI long bomb that he caught he's yeah I mean it does seem like NWI has been good you know a lot of guy I thought I thought I wrote about him in the sunny practice I thought Cal Philips had his best practice of camping has quietly had a pretty good camp I mean you guys remember the bus surrounding Kyle Phillips as a rookie uh he kind of seems like a forgotten man now I I keep track of all the catches Brent was trying to get out of me who was number one and number two on the list PHS but but but Kyle Phils I can tell you has 14 catches only two guys ahead of him um and I'm not going to reveal those yet because uh I I'll roll those out at some point I that's I have been keeping score but he he has had a good camp um you know I think will Levis you know performed well over the weekend I tell you who's you know all three quarterbacks have played well I think Malik's gotten better I think um I think Mason Rudolph I have really been impressed with him I mean this guy's completing I think 84% of his passes I think 85 86% of his passes in team drill so um I feel like all those guys have have um have performed well I'm looking forward to seeing them play in the preseason this weekend Jim White with us on 3L all right uh everybody continues to Rave about Tray andberg so let's go there Cal Calvin Ridley said that uh he told him man he's a lot better than what he's seen on tape uh each and every day um where are we with tayin Burks especially with DeAndre Hopkins out for a few weeks well he's got to he's got to prove it I mean yeah yeah that's all we've heard this offseason is people raving about trailing Burks and that's coaching staff that's teammates um you know it's guys on the defensive side of the ball I me and Trin watching him he looks like he's in great shape I love his attitude I've I've always liked Trin I just I think he's had some tough luck with injuries and and and and comparisons after he was has drafted after AJ Brown has traded away so um he has has had some Misfortune holding him back and now this is his chance I can't say anything about trailing that anybody else has not already said you know he's he's worked hard to get himself in great shape he looks good now he's just got to stay healthy and um and he's going to get a chance to play and um and I think he'll perform well um I don't anticipate the DeAndre Hopkins injury to be anything that's going to linger past the start of the Season you never know we'll have to see how that goes but uh Trin is is certainly capable of stepping in in any spot they need him to and um yeah this time last year was looking great he had the injury in Minnesota so he just got to stay healthy and keep doing his thing what one more um as far as offensive goals Jimmy coming out of the weekend as well man we didn't get to lay eyes on them like you guys did what did it look like between Taj Spears and Tony poet I saw him the UN um what is it the um unoficial dep The Unofficial dep yeah they got them listed as one a and one B right there sitting there together so have you been able to see anything um as far as those guys and the effect they would have on this offense yeah I mean I'm curious myself what going to look like when the season rolls around so far in practice is we're seeing a lot of them you know seeing you're seeing Spears hits a lot of the B balls out of the back field certainly po doing some of that too they're both running well um right you know I I think how they're used you know we're so used to Titans being you know a Derek the Derk Henry show around here and uh so things are going to be different in the back field now and how they're used I think going to depend on matchup how people are defending them uh and really who's performing well and maybe even who has the hot hand in the game so um I've been impressed with both of them I think Assan H Haskins has had a really good camp the number three back and and um no I think he'll he'll I think he'll be a solid contribute on special teams and capable stepping in um you know looking forward to seeing Jabari small and Julius tnut in the preseason those guys will get a chance to play play a lot so it's a pretty good group of of running backs um following the departure of Derek Henry and now we'll kind of see how it all unfolds right yeah Jabari small on Wednesday last week had a legit touchdown run off the right side uh with that second group and uh he's kind of condensed in size height-wise but man put together well and got a lot of speed I like him I like the look to him I mean essentially bit out Dylan Johnson from Washington for that spot and and um you know been impressed with him in practices um Roger mccre uh keeps showing up uh you wrot you wrote that on Sunday uh what have you seen from him have you seen growth uh from year two going into year three for him yeah and it's just it's crazy when you look at that secondary and and we you know we haven't even talked about the latest addition of of Diggs but um you know that whole group is much improved and a veteran L secondary and and everybody talks about chobia woozi and and leria sne but but um you know Roger mccurry's been here longer than you know those guys and kind of knows what to do he's got him himself in a good place physically you know he knows he needs to be bigger and stronger to tackle some of these guys out in space and he's done that and um and yeah all quarterbacks get beat and and and he's not going to you know he's not going to be immune to that when the season starts again every body has has um you know has their moments where they give up plays because these guys on the other side of the ball are so talented and so fast and uh but in practices I will say that uh he is usually right there to make a play uh whether it's Calvin Ridley or you know whether it was DeAndre Hopkins when he was out there or or whoever he's lined up against me he seems like he's getting hands on the football he's running right with him he's knocking ball away and uh yeah I think he's poised to have a really good year um tat um there was a play that um uh oh who's uh who got over there um at linebacker Kenneth Murray Kenneth Murray seall hit ball guy right like so the ball's going to the sideline Kenneth Murray is flying to the sideline and he gets to the running back before he gets out of bounds and right behind him was T SWAT who had gotten up the field and then got went horizontally across the field that guy can move for 360 or whatever he is yeah I think he's probably a little north of 360 they hope he gets below 360 at some point and I think that that just shows you how much room of room there is to grow for him because he's he's doing some of this from an athletic standpoint at a weight higher than than they want to play at and what he wants to play at and and he's in the process of kind of working himself in a better shape learning technique kind of um learning the grind of being an NFL player and I'll say this I mean it seems like every day I notice him for doing something that makes me think wow this is this is pretty amazing I watched him in oneon-one drills you know one practice maybe it was Saturday and he was he was you know he was banging heads with Lloyd cushenberry and giving all those guys up front H and these 101 drills and then they get to the team period and one of the first couple plays of the team period he bust up the midd his right and L his face and makes him throw the ball away so I mean he's he's working hard Tracy rocker's all up in his grill Jeffrey Simmons is pushing them um you know they know how much potential he has and and I'll say this just the short time I've been around tandre sweat is if he wants to be good I mean he he doesn't need somebody to push him because he he he is a very motivated young man who who wants to prove the Titans right and prove that he's he can get this done when some people questioned it you know around draft time so I I've like what I've seen from him he's a fun fun guy to be around his teammates like him and uh you he's still a work in progress but he's got a month to go to get peaked and ready to go for the season Jimmy man stand right there with the defense man uh Shane Ray late signing um also when you when you sneak Jamal Adams in um a little unexpected and then you come in the back door with quandre Diggs tell us about how that went down and what's um the the what's the the profile on a guy like Diggs walking into this um this Titans locker room yeah I'll touch on Ray first because and uh just give a Cliffs notes on him just because he has stood out and I don't know if I've ever been around a guy who has gone for such a long period without playing in a snap and he's still motivated and still going the last time he's played the game I think was December of 2018 and here it is 2024 and he's he's in Camp and he's he's worked hard to take advantage of this opportunity It's a Long Camp you know he's got to he's got to keep going but he's he has certainly flashed early on in Camp and uh and then Diggs I mean this this is something that has been talked about uh for the last couple of weeks um as they wanted to help solidify that position he arrives again a three-time pro bowler who's who has been durble has made a lot of plays in this league was looking for a landing spot Titans you know yes they signed Jamal Adams but look at that position group over the years and you got Adams who who has not played a lot of games the last couple of years you've got know Monty hooker who is has had you know is a tough physical player but sometimes that takes his toll he's been forced to miss some games Elijah molden has has has missed time with injuries so I think what you're doing by bringing in somebody like quandre Diggs as you're getting getting better but you're also giving yourself some more Insurance in the event somebody gets hurt and and that's what I think ran carthon and and Chad Brinker and Ron Callahan and really everybody in personnel's been trying to do is just try to get as good as you can possibly get at every position and now I'll look at safety and think D the Titans pretty good there yeah there he is Wy ijy Sports tennessy titans.com you can read the mail back there thank
