on the undercard of caner baralho edman shabazian suffered his fifth career defeat this time losing by submission to the 36-year-old Gerald meart and if that weren't bad enough losing to Gerald meart at this stage of his career shabazian Not only was he submitted by an arm triangle choke but mot didn't even have to pass over into side control to complete the choke he was able to complete it from a half guard position and that is awful because on paper alone you can look at that and say come on how can a fighter who not only is in the UFC but is as young and talented as Edmund shabbaz and getting getting submitted like that but you watch the fight and you knew that shabazi was looking for a way out it's very clear that he could have fought that choke more if he wanted but as soon as miaar got him down before even getting the armed triangle ch position with his arms shabazian looked like he was just waiting for the perfect time to tap he quit in that fight and this is in my opinion the final nail in the coffin as I have put in the thumbnail of this video in the hype job of all hype jobs because in all my years following MMA I don't think I've ever seen a fighter who received as much hype as Edmund shabazian early on in his career was expected to do so many great things in his his career and get exposed this many times before he even makes it to the top five of his division the highest point in edman sharan's career was when he was ranked number 10 in the world which was due to a lot of Fighters above him losing fights when he defeated Brad tarz back in 2019 he was number 10 a huge favor going into his fight against Derrik Brunson and all the losing streak began and it's one thing to lose to Dereck Brunson and Jack Manson these are two veterans who have been in the rankings for a long time and even though none of them have touched the bout in their careers or even a title shot they are pretty experienced and skilled enough to keep Pretenders out of the rankings and then he goes on to lose to guys like Nast mol and Anthony Hernandez who would later on become ranked and Achieve or at least start to achieve what shabazian was expected to reach in his career and now he's losing to Old Men like Gerald meard and if people think I'm being harsh when I say an old man this is Gerald mot's career 54 fights 37 wins 17 defeats look at this getting knocked out by guys like Joe pyer another guy who recently got upset by a veteran and you know may end up being a hype job just like Emon shabazian who knows Andre Petroski Kristoff jotco these are the guys who Gerald meard has been losing to and here you have Edmund shabazian the guy who was picked to be at one point the youngest middleweight champion in history when again he defeated Brad tarz all those years ago down here he's getting out hustled beaten up and arted by again Gerald Mead who has been around for a very very long time and some people are talking about how Edan shabazian was able to hurt mid in the second round with a body shot and it looked like he was about to finish him well I don't know where these people are coming from because first of all he wasn't able to finish him and that in itself is just another daming indictment on Ean shabazian talent because how can you not finish a guy who is 10 years older than you who is washed up beaten up has been through the wars in his career when you have him heard you have him looking like he isn't going to make it through the round and not only are you not able to finish him but and this is a fact if you go back and watch the fight he went in for the kill he wasn't able to get it m was able to hold on again this old man was able to survive and then when they stood up Ean shabazian decided okay I'm not going to try to finish this guy on the ground I'm going to let him stand up shabazian was looking more tired than meot then meot started to walk him down he started to tag him Ean shabazian this incredible Striker who was Again touted by many to have great success in his career started getting out hustled he started looking for a way out out he started getting tired meot the 36-year-old shot in for a takedown managed to get it and from that point on I I'm telling you folks shabazian was already looking for a way out of the fight he got embarrassed in there Gerald Mead exposed this guy in my opinion to be one of the most overhyped fighters of all time I do not think there is a more overhyped Prospect than Edmund shabazian who proved to be nothing more than a hype job who was barely able to get into the rankings and once he did he got sent out of there pretty quickly and he's just showing no ability to make it any further I don't think it's a matter of fact of shabazian being trained by the awful awful Ed Verdian early on in his career being managed by Ronda Rousey and being sent down the wrong path of these two guys who clearly weren't the right picks for his career since joining extreme Couture and training under Eric NEX and joining dominance MMA under Ali Abdel aiz he's been supposedly taken care of very well and yet he's still turning out terrible performances like this where like I said he's getting beaten up by old men to where he is out hustled oute hearted and is looking for ways out of fights for me this is one of the most overhyped prospects of all time one of the most overrated fighters of all time and I'm going to do another video talking him in detail about how Ean shabazian just proved to be one of the greatest hype jobs we've ever seen in the sport so let me know what you guys think down below if you guys think I'm being too harsh and you believe Ean shabazian does have a future in this sport let me know because I'm very interested I like edman shabazian as a fighter but I cannot think of a way he comes back from this in my personal opinion drop your thoughts down below like the video and subscribe to the channel for more as always
