would be up on that list for me as a defense uh and that's if we're talking NFL defenses if we're talking fantasy football that's a little different for me okay because in I mean in fantasy football you got to worry about who they play MH so for me the Jets are one 49ers are two the Browns would be three Ravens four Texans five that would be my top five okay very good choice and I would like to have the Texans a little higher I just I don't think talent for talent that they're better than any of the four teams ahead them which which should uh go to go to show you that um the Browns defense for some reason in in in drafts that I've been in they're not getting drafted which is so you can get them as like the the 12th defense off the off the board last round of the of the draft and that's just fun the schedule's tough tough t but it but will it not be more lower scoring games right the north games don't usually blow out they don't usually go 303 games those are usually those 20 to 16 kind of nasty slog games no the only blowout in the AFC North right now is Deshawn Watson's contract oh yeah man they restructured did you see what the dead cap on him would be if they moved on in the next two years no but I mean it's it was going to be gross regardless the dead cap hits would sorry he has cap hits in 25 and 26 of $ 72.9 million a piece and the dead cap hits if they moved on after this year would be 99 million in 2026 and 172 million next year yikes you understand that that means you physically can't do it because you couldn't actually put a team on the field precisely it's I I mean they they've been stuck since the contract got signed it did not again probably the worst disaster of a contract in all of NFL history and we I I feel like you should have known that like you should have floated this idea to somebody at some point somebody in the know like I'm thinking like Bill poon right could I have called Bill poon as um uh Andrew Barry is that is that the name of the GM there in Cleveland I thought that was right um but like Andrew Barry calls Bill poy and says hey so I'm thinking about giving you know a $250 million guaranteed contract to a quarterback and Bill poon would have laughed and told him where he could go with his idea and at that point you go okay maybe I shouldn't do this maybe I shouldn't be this desperate is he still a guy that's wanting to do under the towel HJ things uh then you probably ought not do that well I mean that who would have thought that that would and soring Eagle asked us are we ready to go Deshawn Watson worst trade in NFL history yet who would have thought when this trade was made that we would be talking that and it would have nothing to do with DeShawn off the field no I haven't heard him speak words in two years MH it doesn't matter no because he's terrible 41.7 qbr I was going to say or 41.9 how many times can you keep using the uh the excuse that he's injured that he's hurtt I get he has been but are you Watson got to Cleveland there are 11 guys that have worse quarterback ratings than deshun Watson just to put this in a vacuum Zack Wilson he is three uh 75.4 Sam darnold no really not even close actually really no will Levis no Wills is three points too high three points higher M um Marcus Mariota no M Jones Sam how Kenny picket Josh dobs Davis Mills bayy zap uh Mitchell trabis cult McCoy Zack Wilson Bryce young Tyson agent I thought I was pulling bottom of the barrel and I didn't I didn't I didn't than I didn't go far enough N Dog uh and just now let's let's go back through that list uh cut traded traded fourth team in two years barely hanging on with the Texans as a third string quarterback yeah cut third team in three years retired third string quarterback for the Broncos franchise quarterback of the Carolina Panthers did that make you feel good cuz it should not have made you feel good uh and backup quarterback for the Bears yes who was a rookie undrafted free agent last year that's what's in front of you it is I think it's funny that for 30 years we had the hsel Walker deal as that is the worst TR in NFL history we have had the two best competitors for that in the last four years y Russell Wilson Deshawn Watson and I would argue they were both worse yeah just different it's different area you got to give money you got to pay the money then you're stuck with it look where the Denver Broncos are right now and look at all those pieces that they pulled together the hsel thing make makes it much worse because they immediately went on to win three Super Bowls after that see that's the thing is that everybody takes what Dallas got out of it it wasn't great for Minnesota this has been a disaster oh yeah in Cleveland and in in Denver well I mean hersel lasted what two years after that TR something like that it was it it just it was bad it was bad but I will agree that these These are worse you may not have the Super Bowls involved right like Houston didn't go on and win Super Bowls yet I mean hsel lasted three he was he was in Minnesota for three years okay three years but that's the thing we still have that big yet on on the end of this like we know or I feel okay I don't know but I feel pretty good and this is this is no shot Jonathan but I feel pretty good that the Seattle Seahawks are not going to be winning Super Bowls anytime soon could be in a few years maybe all right maybe that trade at some point has an effect on Super Bowls this one could the the the Cleveland Houston one they're on the doorstep of winning a Super Bowl with what they did with that trade and it's largely because of you and if they get one it's immediately worse to me than the than the Dallas thing I don't know I I think you you look at that differently than I do I'm not going to say it's wrong I think it's wrong but it's I I get while you're doing it I think you worry way too much about what happens on the other side once the once the pieces are gone that doesn't actually affect you I'm looking at what came to you Russell Wilson tore down the Denver Broncos I'm pretty confident DeShaun Watson's going to do the same thing because the reason that they restructured the deal today was to roll over cap space into next year do you know how many guys they have that are free agents next year how many Mari Cooper Elijah Moore Nick chub jedric Wills yep without rolling this deal you couldn't signed three of them you could have picked one and and rolling that rolled that way but you're going to do this every year yeah because there's going to come a time with this whole deal guaranteed you're out of cards to play and eventually you're going to have to pay the piper and that bill is going to be significant well I mean if you keep at transitioning into signing bonus and stuff I guess you can keep they can keep kicking that can down the road can't they can't they keep adding like void years and stuff like that they're not adding void years all they're doing is converting base salary into signing bonus which takes I want to say it was 35 million mhm and that put you cut that into however many years are left on the deal and you split it up over all those years right that's all they're doing so every time you do that you're back stacking this deal to a point of yeah there's going to come a time you don't have anywhere else to go well you got two years right you got next year and the year after because that's the end of the deal and without a renegotiation without a without an extension which there will be no extension I mean unless he wins a Super Bowl this year I don't know that I care if he won a Super Bowl because I'm not sure he would be in the top three of reasons that they won said Super Bowl yeah I know I mean I don't know how you bounce back from what I've seen I I don't either but I'm saying if he does that's the only way that they're winning a Super Bowl is if he gets back to being that top 10ish quarterback he has to be somewhere in that realm he can't keep throwing up 40s in the qbr and them win even I don't believe just to me that you might as well be saying well if you grew wings and learned to fly sure then yeah I mean I'm I'm not saying it's a likely possibility I mean because right now you're talking about the most expensive player in the NFL and you're putting them in the the the same tier as Colton McCoy and Tyson bent and Davis Mills who has a long neck like a giraffe yeah and an arm like a little child it's awful but but but now you got to deal with it in some way some form or fashion and you said next year his cap hit is $99 million and the year after that it's hundred and something that's the dead cap hit oh that's the the cap hit that that would be the dead cap hit if they moved on okay okay so two years from now you were saying that was 99 what's the cap hit 72.9 for next year and 26 okay so it's 72 that's a third of the cap yeah ostensibly that is a third of the cap for a player who is replacement level or Worse M that's not going to end well no it won't so yeah for me I'm to the point Deshawn Watson deal I can't say it was worse than Russell Wilson I sure as hell can't say feels that's it's way too much heavy lifting for this show so we had to split the the top quarterback ranking into into today yes now let's remind everybody where we're at the top five quarterbacks were who Josh Allen was one Lamar Jackson was two Jaylen Herz was three Pat Mahomes was four CJ R was five okay those are the to me the Five Guys that I feel I can draft a quarterback and be done because if he gets hurt I'm screwed anyway which is why I'm not doing that right those are the five guys that I think scor the most points so those are the Elite tier for 2024 from there where do you drop to and is it is is it a market drop out of the top five fantasy-wise marked drop no confidence drop okay yes yes because my six is Dak Prescott oo okay what more do I need from a guy than what I've already seen out of him I mean I don't think you're getting anything more out of Dak Prescott sure about that oh do you think he's he's got a banner year coming better than 4200 yards last year and 30 touchdowns 4200 yards is not that many allow me to ask just he had 4,500 yards 45 okay excuse me 36 touchdowns nine interceptions MH is this defense better or worse than it than it was worse is this running game better or worse than it was worse is this receiving core better or worse than it was worse all those things lend to more gets put on dak's shoulders okay I feel like going into this fantasy season people are saying Tu a tongue of aloa but they mean Dak Prescott okay Tua has a lot of help and I'll go and tell you he's not my top 10 I I'm not going to say I wouldn't I wouldn't have have to on a team I just wouldn't feel great about it mhm look how many mouths you have to feed there you got a slew of running backs moard hn yes Wright MH you got two legit receivers two legit number one receivers oh yeah Tyreek Hill Jaylen Wadd Odell Beckham okay he's a he's a legit three in the NFL even though he's starting on the pup list m you have a running game yes you have a defense that I think can win you games I don't think Dallas has any of those things which means that for them to win football games if you think Dallas is going to win more than six games that means you think Dak Prescott's either going to be as good as he was or better he was number three in fantasy football last year he was number three in fantasy football and I'll be really honest with you if he puts up that same stat line again I'm not sure that next year he wouldn't be the only thing about Dallas is the fact that that it's CD lamb and nobody else and so the question has I guess comes into play how much is that going to reflect on Jake Ferguson well because he seems to be the only other to me absolutely usable piece fantasy wise well I mean the thing you understand you got 657 yards out of Brandon Cooks last year year you got 418 out of Michael Gallup and then you had a bunch of dudes that basically cut up the pie on, 1300 yards mhm you still have a lot of those guys so you bump them up a notch I think you bump CD lamb up a notch which is insane to say as I'm sitting here looking at a guy that had 1749 yards and 12 touchdowns and I'm going I think that's your floor if you stay healthy I think that's your floor because I'm just not sure that people can stop him it's one thing if it was I'm going to try to think of an example here um that Buffalo all right we talked about Josh Allen yep and you lost Stefon Diggs now you have a one in either khil Shakir or Keon Coleman those aren't ones I think Keon will be might even be by by the end of this year that's not a one though you're going in with a two or maybe even a three masquerading is a one Dallas has a legit No Doubt one yes they have a very low end two in Brandon Cooks once you get into the threes you're to uh bunch of dudes I was going to say we got seven of those well I don't know that you have for me I don't know that you have a three but the difference between a three and a four is not that significant mhm and I'm just not sure that it matters for production standpoint alone I do not like this Cowboy tape I have been very clear about that I don't think you can win games at a high level consistently but what that means for me is I think Dallas is going to be coming back a lot they're going to be down a lot they're not going to have the ability to run the ball a lot falls on Dak and cidd lamb it's kind of hard to look at a team that has finished as one of the better offenses in the NFL they were five last year and they finished that way for several years now it's hard for me to believe that you're just all of a sudden going to fall off the world Dak was three last year that's probably his high side okay but I think six is his floor okay all right Dak Prescott coming in at number six how about number seven Kyler Murray I don't know what to think about Arizona because I look at the sum of all pieces and I like it I think you have two legit running backs you've got a no doubt one for me and Marvin Harrison Jr I like Michael Wilson and I think Trey McBride is a high highend tight end but am I the only one that still looks at Arizona and goes how is this going to go it's hard I don't know if it's just because I don't trust them I don't know if it's just because I it's an unknown quantity exactly what it is I still just look at Arizona and go where are the winds supposed to come in mhm okay so you beat Washington just theoretically you beat Washington you beat the Chargers you beat the Vikings you beat the Patriots and the Panthers you're still five and 12 M and it's kind of hard for me with quarterbacks like this on teams that I I think record-wise are going to be less than ideal because there's a possibility that all you have to do ingrown toenail I because you get to the end of the year that's my franchise guy you've got games with the Rams in the 4 ERS in the playoff weeks yep that's the big thing that scares me about him I think he's going to produce I was going to say do you think he's going to tap out though do you think it gets to that point where he Taps out or is this team going to be sneaky enough to where I mean they were four and four last year when they came back or when he came back from from the injury they were and so maybe this team is sneaky enough to be in that 500 range and if you are then do you tap out if you're if if if he's K you know if you're Kyler Murray you tap out at the end of the season knowing that you can keep building find the win for next year and I would say oh no he would never do that except the last time he finished the season was 2019 MH he's missed at least a game and actually missed three or more in three of four [Music] years and every year since 2019 and I just it makes me nervous yeah it makes me nervous that he is a 27y old guy that he is a smaller guy and I don't think this team is ready to compete yet I think the team is solid and they're going to be annoying and a lot of things attention while I Rob him blind oh pretty much good for you for connecting that I was thinking there's a joke there somewhere he'll find it I can always trust on Flo um yesterday they had giveaway day it was show he Otani I guess Bobblehead Day it well the bobblehead also has decoy on it and I didn't see this coming and I don't know that the Dodgers did either fans started lining up to get these bobbleheads at 900 a.m. Pacific time yesterday morning 10 hours before the first pitch of the game game was supposed to happen the first 40,000 fans that get in get one but there were so many people lined up at the gates prior to the game that it was causing problems with the traffic in L in that La neighborhood and they had to let people in two hours early to the game to collect their bobbleheads now I guess the thing that they were after was the gold versions of the bobbleheads because they were there are just and they're not like gold gold they're just painted gold solid gold show hey Otani bobbleheads there were only a few of them amongst the 40,000 and that's what I guess people were lining up for um listening to this here radio station earlier today um the earlier show said that they found one of them listed on eBay for $177,000 if it sells for that then yeah well maybe you invested your time well by lining up 10 hours before first pitch I can't imagine getting to a sporting event that early that's you need a life just so you can get a little plastic statue with with show hotani and his dog okay apparently La is still crazy over baseball or at least 40,000 of them that lined up to get La is crazy for a winner it's what they've always been crazy for mhm you win they care you don't they don't my story is about great friend of this program another great West the way no Ohio I didn't think so Char if we were driving to see the Pittsburgh Steelers we could have easily made that happen but yeah you're on the wrong side all right all right well um yeah big crowds show up for Pat oh yeah there's not me look there's just not many people that do what we do that a school system would go can't a loser bum Keith alberman I guarantee you he could do a show they wouldn't shut down a church service in a 60 cater they'd be it's fine and the four people that show up for Keith Overman believe are fun yeah he railed on Pat for they have to take his ego through the city streets brou if anybody's talking about an ego it should not be you and not only do you have one it is the most unearned ego in the history of egos getting back to the fantasy football quarterback rankings 2024 we left off at Kyler Murray at seven now it's number eight and time for Joe burrow no okay who's next I basically have a tie at eight and I broke the tie uhhuh with which offense do I think is going to has less uncertainty okay I have Jordan love eight and Joe burrow n wow okay less uncertainty in green Bay yes what's the uncertainty in well we'll get to there you well the uncertainty in Cincinnati you have offensive coordinator you got a guy calling plays that's never called plays before that scares me you've also got Joe that's been hurt two the last three years I mean and dirty little secret Joe Joe burrow has not been great for Fantasy Football you know last year he didn't play really enough games to hold that against him no but even in 2022 he played every game he finished fourth mhm and he was out of this world yep I don't know that you're going to see that again okay I mean at some point you have to look at it and go that's the exception not the rule right well you got two guys playing for contracts like Jamar Chase is he G to get his is that going to happen I has to because there was the we had the flipflop Zack Taylor came out and told the media that yeah he's going to play I expect him to play week one and then immediately it came out when he's not at practice so that's that that seems kind of odd was that Zack Taylor speaking out of turn and then Jamar Chase turning around and saying I hold the cards here it could be that's basically how he threw himself under the bus but that I don't know the answer to be really honest yeah that and T Higgins though they're both playing for to prove something right Jamar even if he gets his money will be playing to live up to the contract that he just got that will make him the third highest paid wide receiver or tied for the second highest paid wide receiver with CD lamb whatever that contract ends up being and T Higgins is auditioning for the next big contract the the thing that scares me about Barrow is in the two seasons that he has finished out the year yep he's finished fourth and eighth and statistically he was damn near exactly the same guy in both years there's just not really a high side okay there is a huge negative of he's had two season ending injuries in four years I said I think I said two and three it's two out of four two out of four I don't necessarily know that there is a super super super high side on burrow now Jordan love on the other hand I you know I don't love him as a real life quarterback yes fantasy is not real life so I'll ask you the same thing I asked you yesterday about quarterbacks Jordan love had 4150 yards last year 32 touchdowns 11 interceptions mhm rushed 50 times which is a stereotypical non rushing quarterback number 50 carries roughly 250 yards that's basically the that's what you pencil in for a guy who can run but doesn't do it much what if that is not replicable what that I just said could you not easily see him doing again I mean I guess he could do all of that again he was awful the first half of the Season let's just say if he spreads it argument sake no no let's say for argument sake he's never as good as he was the last handful of games of the season last year mhm let's say he's never as bad as he was the first half of the Season okay you do realize that there was more bad there than good and he still finished that high mhm if he had a a 17 game slate of 80% of how he finished that season he's the number three quarterback in fantasy football that's an upside that I just don't see with Joe burrow Joe's a much better real life quarterback I did find it really funny that the did you see that overrated underrated list from the unnamed players in the NFL I did not yeah best quarterback in the NFL three guys got enough votes to to to get really on the list there were two others receiving votes uhuh you want to take a stab who those three were Patrick Mahomes Patrick Mahomes Josh Allen Josh Allen Lamar Jackson Joe burrow Joe burrow okay well that makes sense okay Lamar either Lamar was Lamar was either two or four and Allen was the other Lamar might have been the two there okay but I did find it funny that Joe burrow was the three players I have every player that I know in the NFL will tell you how good Joe burrow actually is and he's Joe cool he unifies locker room there's just a lot to him to really really really like I just I kind of feel like this is later Brady he's so so good he doesn't put up video game stats and it's not as he's more of a name than he is a fantasy football asset okay but Jordan love you think he can he can live up to last year no problems I do statistically MH it may not look good at times it may not win them games but there are winnable games on the schedule and I'm looking down there and going those there's a lot of games there that I could very easily see that offense putting up 30 plus could be very good some weeks for Fantasy owners throughout the season Jordan love coming in here at what was that number eight yes Joe burrow at number nine and let's close out the top 10 here before the end of the hour uh you skipped one did I yes okay all right so far we've had this is in no specific order Josh Allen jayen Pat Mahomes Lamar Jackson CJ strad Kyler Murray Joe burrow Jordan love that's nine that is nine yeah oh I have the number five twice and number 10 thanks Microsoft Excel when you drag it down you're supposed to put a list not double up numbers you you jerk uh tent for me 10's a tie okay and it's really just do you have the stomach to deal with a rookie or not no it's Brock py M and Jaden Daniels I don't know that I've ever said two players were tied that were more wildly different than those two no doubt Brock pie is the consistent every week week in week out he's going to give you 22 points MH there are not a ton of weeks at least how I see this roster moving forward I don't think he has that 35 to 40 upside Jaden Daniels has that and he's with a a coach that has his historically been pretty good fantasy owners I could also see some of those disaster games because Washington schedule is at times evil every jet I know commented on how good Jaden Daniels was going to be which really just confirmed what I already knew is that he is super talented it's going to translate to the modern NFL I just don't know that it's it's going to take him some time because he's coming out of an offense that is very non in he's got a lot to learn good thing is that you're going into a borderline college offense anyway because that's what Cliff Kingsbury does I like the eckar Edition I like having Brian Robinson out of the backfield I do not really understand how you couldn't find a spot for Yan doson because Luke mcaffrey was in his okay that you do you it's your job but I do think Jaden Daniels between ability to run and he's hyper accurate he's got a big arm I I love everything about him he needs to be paired with somebody really safe if you drafted py and Daniels together in back-to-back rounds I wouldn't befall you for it I think you could do better if you're G to wait that long glad to have you back man I can't believe it's well no I can't say I was going to say I can't believe it's already time but we we all have been dying without football that's right it's back again tank and great to be back with you yeah up here miniapolis Tel's took off from the Raleigh Durham Airport a little bit after lunchtime yesterday made it up here late afternoon early evening and uh they've been getting their bodies and Minds ready for for an important game tonight certainly Carina um uh would like to start this season with some positive momentum uh they feel like they've got a team that can do something pretty uh pretty cool this year but a really difficult way to get started on the road against the power conference opponent but excited to get going again excited to be with everybody tonight we're on the air at 7 eastern time kickoff uh weather per there supposed to be a little bad weather up here but hoping to get this thing started right around 8:00 eastern time tonight all right we'll be watching uh back here in the Tar Hill State tell us uh for everybody who may have uh you know checked out they're just checking back in here haven't been following spring practices and training camps and all of that what does this team look like now we we've talked several times about our good friend Brad Johnson who has a couple of kids on the team now yeah you know it's a little bit of a mix of some familiar names and some new pieces for Carolina this year there there is some turnover at some important spots of course most notably at the quarterback position it'll be the first time uh since Ma Brown's been the head coach here in his second tenure that neither Sam how nor Drake May is on the roster and so it is a turning of the page in that regard and you Carolina has not announced its starter for tonight but one of the two guys that is in the mix is one of Brad Johnson's Sons that's Max Johnson Max two years at LSU and two years at Texas A&M before making his way to Carolina and you big strong dude and he started in the SEC and had some success and um certainly is is right there in the mix along with Connor Harold Harold who was Carolina's primary backup a season ago uh started the bowl game I thought actually looked pretty good in that bowl game until he was hurt he rolled his ankle pretty severely in that game early on and and I thought that affected him took away his best asset which is his legs and uh changed the way that he could approach the game and I think it it changed it in a negative way that particular afternoon against West Virginia so those two guys have been going at it since spring uh I think Carolina feels like it can win with either one of them that doesn't mean the Tarios are planning on splitting snaps or anything like that they they feel like they have their starter but they would like to get both guys some reps um as the year goes on and as the game dictates and and I think that they feel comfortable with either one of them in the game so you know that'll be a game time not decision but that'll be a game time uh showing for Carolina this evening as far as who's starting at that spot um so that'll be a new name some some older names you know Maran Hampton is back and coming off in all America year where he had more than 1500 yards on the ground Bryson Nesbit and John copenhaver two really good veteran tight ends have returned I think that's a real strong position for Carolina um TZ Walker is of course with the Baltimore Ravens now but the heels have a lot of familiar names at wide receiver you know Nate McCollum in his second year the Georgia Tech transfer JJ Jones Kobe pesur guys who have played a ton for Carolina in the past um and some younger names that have played a little bit that I think will have much larger roles um this season Chris culer and Christian Hamilton and Paul Bops some guys again who have seen a little bit of time but but will really be stepping into larger roles this year and then t a whole another new of course is the defense you know Jeff Collins becomes the third defensive coordinator and Ma Brown's uh six years now in his second tenure Coach Collins has been a really successful coordinator in the past at Western Carolina and at FIU and then Mississippi State in Florida been a successful head coach at Temple uh did some good things as the head coach of Georgia Tech inherited a really tough spot after Paul Johnson's lengthy tenure there um and after coach was out game back in as a coordinator and um Carolina's excited about what he brings to the table I think uh the heels have had a really really really good training camp on the defensive side a lot of energy a lot of confidence but you've got to see it on the field and tank we've talked about it at nsen for years you Carolina just hasn't been good enough defensively to do the things that the toel want to do and had the ability to do I think over the last couple of Seasons but that defense just has not been consistent enough there have been some great moments um I thought the first half of the year last year Carolina was really good defensively and and then it really waned as the year went on and that's been a huge point of emphasis this offseason is figuring out why Carolina has not ended Seasons as well as it has started Seasons here over the last couple of years where the tiarles have positioned themselves you know halfway twoth thirds through the year that they were right there right there at the top of the league right there in the top 15 in the nation and then all of a sudden things went South and so that that's been an enormous uh point of emphasis for Carolina to try to figure out why why that's been happening yeah it is uh it's great to have the familiar names back the question for Tar Hill fans of course is how did how did we plug those holes how did they how did they fix right right write the ship from the collapses that we've seen over the last couple of years you know I think take a couple things that Carolina's really identified um that they think is is part of the problem you know one thing uh they've really worked hard on discipline this off season you know that that was an issue near the end of the Larry Fedora era Carolina was was really shooting itself in the foot for lack of a better term a lot uh m brown came in and it and it really got cleaned up for for a year or two the tariel were were excellent as far as penalties and mistakes and things like that you know they they didn't do a lot of those things but the last couple of years those have been creeping back up to the point that the tles really felt like it was a problem uh these last year or two um you to have a big play called back for a hold or to have multiple pass interferences or you know to put yourself behind the chains with a false start you know that's going to happen some but they felt like it was happening way too often so that's something they've really been focused on but I think the number one thing that they ID identified is is they just felt like as the year went on guys were wearing down and particularly on the defensive side um where they just felt like whether it was injuries or whether it was just the quality of play dropping due to the amount of snaps that guys had played uh throughout the season so they have really harped on playing more players and distributing those snaps from the very start so that when you get into l October and into November guys haven't banked as many reps um now that's a whole lot easier to say you're going to do than to actually do because it gets to the point where it's a you know you're in a one- score game against Minnesota and it's the third quarter you know you want the guys that you trust on the field the guys you trust the most you want them on the field because you know you need to win and so can Carolina trusts enough guys um that if it's not even if it's not your front line guys do you trust those backup enough to go in and give you a series in the third quarter so that your starting linebacker your starting corner or whatever it might be uh can get a breather um that we'll just we'll just have to wait and see you know how all that plays out I I do think Jeff Collins um I'm focusing on defense in this discussion tank but I think it it plays on the offensive side as well I particularly in the receiving core and at running back and things like that but um I'm just focusing on defense while we're talking about this you know Jeff Collins has history of playing a lot of guys it was one of the things that he said when he was interviewing for this job is that he felt like Carolina needed to play more guys and he wanted to play more guys and that was an attractive conversation that he had with mck brown and so um that's something to keep an eye on tonight in moving forward is does Carolina um have enough trust and belief in guys to play more than just you know 11 12 guys for the majority of the game well I've been you know like every good uh football fan my age or younger I've I've been gearing the team up for this on the college football playoff game and uh you know it's uh I'm expecting to Mario Mari and Hampton to come out tonight and have seven touchdowns like I did last night uh in against the Minnesota Golden Gophers press the B button that nor works you know what he uh Martin Hampton's really good and will be the focal point of Carolina's offense um but I think to the point actually that we were just talking about take you know Carolina feels like it's got a couple backs there uh Darwin barow the transfer from USC uh has had a really good training camp uh davang Goss is a young player that the tariel true freshman that came early that the tariel really think um has a bright future with them uh Caleb Hood's been a little banged up in the preseason that has been a problem with Caleb his entire Carolina career um but he's somebody who they feel like has some Allon and can help them there and so that isn't to say that Omarian Hampton you know isn't going to be out there a ton because he's your best option he's one of the best running backs in the nation but I think Carolina feels like they do have some guys that they can either play together uh back there you know have a couple running backs in the game at the same time or that can uh still give you some good things if you can take a little bit off of Hampton's plate for the Long play you know so that it it is uh still he's still relatively fresh when you get into November which I think will be important yeah biggest questions about this team uh to me have been and will remain until we see it on the field whether what what the quarterback play is going to be like like the what what at what level are we bringing the quarterback play between whether it be Connor or whether it be Max and the defense of course on the other side for Minnesota tonight again here on ESPN Asheville at uh 7:00 pregame 8:00 is the scheduled kickoff although you did say there was some weather in the area that might delay things but we hope not Minnesota was not a good defensive team last year have they improved there how big's the challenge tonight for the offense yeah you know that it's interesting Minnesota their defense kind of did what the tal defense did last year it had some really good moments at the beginning of the season and then as the year went on um it progressively got worse for them defensively to the point where they were last in in the Big 10 in conference play in yards allowed on the ground and yards per carry I mean and think it I think it was around six yards per carry that they were allowing uh in conference play so that that was a struggle for them for sure um some of that I think had to do with injuries you know they they really had a tough time at the linebacker spot where they've got some good players um that with guys being out and and hit or miss on who was available and and so I think that hurt them some um last year because I think at the heart of what Minnesota wants to do they want to lean on their big guys up front this goes offensively and defensively really they they want to control that line of scrimmage offensively they want to run the ball then build off of that run defensively they want to stop the run and make your quarterback beat you or make the opposition's quarterback beat them and so for Carolina um you know the ttles didn't run the ball great against Minnesota last year but Drake May was Drake may you know he had more than 400 yards passing he had more than 30 yards on the ground and you he really dominated that game the taros have some good players at that position they don't have Drake may not right now and so um Carolina's going to need to be able to run the ball effectively against Minnesota's defense and then I think build off of that run game and I think in really in total tank that's who Carolina wants to be this year that they want to be a more uh ball control type of team because their strength is that running back position with Hampton and Barlo and some of the others that I mentioned and so that they want to be able to run the ball build off of that with some play action and hurt you in the pass game that way um also they feel like that will help their defense as we talked about earlier a big issue they felt like was wearing down defensively with injuries and just quality of play and some of that is keeping your defense off the field by having a more ball controlled offense and so I think that's another way that Carolina is going to try to be successful tonight and moving forward now of course every game's going to dictate things a little differently and you never know but but I think big picture that's something that the tariel hope to do this year feels very uh Johnson and Johnson era of uh of m brown I don't know if there's going to be a triple option being run out there I'm not sure if we're going to see that but yeah I I do think and now we're talk Leon and Curtis Johnson were were terrific players Leon Johnson one the better running backs Carolina's had in a long history of terrific running backs oh my gosh he and I'm sorry for the derailment here he's 50 this year that wow that makes I don't want to hear that don't tell me that um but he uh you but I do think Carolina feels like they they have multiple guys there that that you can be successful with so in that vein I do think that they feel like um that that they can have that type of that type of approach where uh you know Darwin Barlo is is going to be a really interesting guy to watch because I think physically he may not quite be Omarian Hampton but he's not that far off and and a guy who's had some success at TCU he's had some success at USC kind of got lost in the shuffle at times but he's also one of those players tank that's in his last year of Eligibility so he knows it's it's now or never and so he's had a really good training camp he's gotten a lot of carries in the training camp too because Carolina didn't feel like they needed to put H they know what Hampton can do they didn't want to put him out there a ton and hit him a ton in this camp and so Barlo has been out there a fair amount um and so I do feel like Carolina likes both those guys enough to have comes to us from Soaring Eagle do you want to you want to chop apart his question there with uh uh basically he traed trade this is a dynasty League he traded Trevor Lawrence a 27 first round pick a 25 third round pick $100 of his Fab budget for Joe burrow to be a superflex behind Mahomes is that a good deal he also has will Levis and doublej JJ McCarthy I I feel like there's a there's something there doublej mou c a r t h y w uh it's good for me because Joe burrow is a legitimate I don't know that Trevor Lawrence is ever going to be what you want him to be I like him for this year because I can draft him late um I I mean that's good to me you got two legitimate QB On's for your for your superflex seems pretty good to me and the fact that uh the the Fab budget is also $300 so he only gave up a third of his $33 in a standard Fab budget league right didn't give up all of it and a 25 third round pick which uh next year let me just go ahead and tell you um gets scanted does it now oh yeah we're really deep next year defensively next year's draft class is to defense what this one was to offense so I I mean I think that's solid 27 that's so far away that it's hard for me to I mean I can't forecast anything that way we could be talking about Arch Manning as the number one pick in that in that class so that doesn't bother me that much all right all right so soran Eagle looks like he did good I I I approve you get the mullet sign of approval all right uh we are through 11 quarterbacks uh here for 2024 uh I'm guessing we're going through 13 yeah I mean I bet you guess who they are too uh I'll bet if you think really hard you can figure out who my 12 and 13 are e e and that you think that he is going to do it a lot more this year which I think is is good but how much success will he have at it that's that's my real question and the fact with the weapons and all that look I'm not saying I doubt you I'm not saying I I'm not trusting Justin Herbert he's one that I have picked up a lot and dra because you can get him late cuz nobody believes nobody believes without the weapons without having Keenan Allen without having Mike Williams you give me uh Josh Palmer and Quinton Johnston that's not Quint Johnston who who's the GL makon yeah yeah anyway that group of guys everybody's just fading Herbert to a dumb level to me well and that's the thing is that there it's it's easier for me to say they're up that high cuz that's about where I project them but you're getting them at 16 to 17 yes uh and you've just got a handful of quarterbacks that I don't have a great belief in and it's not that they're not great real life quarterbacks that's one of the things you always have to remember when we're talking about fantasy football stuff you will get medoc ER quarterbacks that are better for Fantasy because they run now I feel like there are a few quarterbacks that you probably are going to want to ask why I do not have them rank higher yes proce I will go uh first one to a Tong of B aloa seems like he should be in the wasn't he like two last year he was nine really and how many more yards do you think he can throw for yeah to a tongue of aloa can't outrun me in a foot race MH so I just does nothing Jared gof same thing I've already seen what your high water mark is and it led to gof being seven and Tua being nine and I think both of your run games got better right and both of your defens has got exponentially better so you're not playing in shootouts anymore Jared G was a fantasy football afterthought then he had last year which was I believe the most points he's ever scored in fantasy football I'd have check I'm pretty confident that's right right I just I can't take he has a very safe floor and he has a non-existent ceiling and his non-existent ceiling I would rather play the matchups with Herbert and Lawrence every week M uh that was actually not His Highest fantasy score he had one with the Rams I think it was the year Todd Gurley got hurt he had the 18 year with the Rams how many fantasy points did he score that 310 okay so I missed it by six points last 303 in a quarter last year right last year he was off by just a smidge but uh yeah was not uh was not his highest year but it was close it was very close he's another one that I like uh picking up late in drafts I'm find the more and more I do it the more and more I find myself just waiting to be the last one to take quarterbacks because I get to load up on all the superstars it's Ricky Bobby philosophy if if you ain't first you're last yeah if if you're not getting one of those no doubt guys Josh Allen's a no doubt guy if you're not getting that then just wait because there's so many mhm um other guys Anthony Richardson I don't trust him yeah I just don't trust I don't think he's a very good throw of the football I don't think that team is great I think Jonathan Taylor takes away a lot of his rushing upside I mean I've seen people take him in the top five among quarterbacks and to me that is insanity Caleb Williams Caleb Williams I don't think he has to be that good he might throw for a lot of yards he's not going to run for much at all they have three running backs behind him that they trust a lot there's just a lot of dudes there I mean he may have a good NFL statline and a mediocre to straight up bad fantasy football stat line yeah uh chz Johnson in the YouTube chat asked Matthew Stafford that was gonna be the next one way better NFL quarterback than he is Fantasy last year he finished and he missed a couple games he missed two last year I think he finished 15th mhm I think even with I mean in the entire year he played yep 15 games he had three over 21 points and they were back to back to back and they were late in the season other than that he had been a replacement level player all year long y i there's just not much of an upside to him he would have to throw four to five touchdowns a week to get up there fantasy football's just changed Y and that's how I feel about Aaron H Aaron Rogers completely irrelevant F to me completely undraftable mhm I wouldn't touch him because he doesn't have to be that guy Aaron's what were you doing out in the woods by 9y- old grandmother and I do have one of those do she got lost in her own house one time so I I I would ask who let me all outside okay just I had to go to work I need you to pick up a shift Becky but but but how long would you expect that that to last like and come out with a good outcome I couldn't imagine thinking that that was going to end positively mine no doubt I would mine I would be afraid she'd come out with a mountain line dragg it by the feet and she beat to death with a rock cuz my grandmother's tougher than a pine nut she's tougher than a $3 steak well maybe we should uh maybe we should uh put her in touch with geina bardelli she's 89 years old and she went um you know as 80 you know octogenarians do she went uh foraging for mushrooms what why are we talking about sea creatures all a I thought we thought we were in the mountains octogenarians yeah I saw one of those in the aquarium just got eight legs octogenarian it shoots ink when it gets scared yeah the same thing totally the same thing yeah totally uh that's the vegetarian version of the other thing August 21st she went foraging for mushrooms in the Alps and she that sounds more like something Mark Starling would do yeah she be she became dizzy she tumbled 20 feet into a gully and and and they and and they lost her it took them four nights to go and get her out of the Ravine that she had fallen into um she remained in the Gully stationary for those four days and there were only two things that they credit with keeping her alive one was the puddle of water next to her head which was the only way that she could 89 years old she just took a 20ft fall she wasn't really getting up to go look for water at the nearest cck so she was drinking water out of a puddle and also at some point a fox came along and became her friend and stayed with her all four days while the uh Searchers were coming to look for her when they showed up the fox was still there and she was just holding the fox petting it I guess you can wait for the Disney movie to come out about uh The Fox and the grandma no doubt turn somehow that turned into a Pixar movie right at the end I don't know how that happened oh but I'm you know shocker of shockers I never expected that we would have a story of an 89-year-old woman who was able to survive for four days in the outs my story also involves a puddle but no Fox about a man his name Shane Lynch this is one of those stories that are my favorite kind of weird stories because every sentence I read you're not going to know what the next sentence is going to be and it gets more confusing as I go okay Mr Lynch lives in Cranston Road Island he went to Gillette Stadium to see a concert that concert was Kenny Chesney M okay I don't feel like Kenny Chesney was would have a big Boston following but maybe that's just me well you'd be wrong really there's a bunch of rednecks up in Boston really I know Luke did a show up there and sold it out actually oh yeah I just I'm looking at Kenny Chesney going the last CD he put out was in what 2005 I didn't even know he still T he's done stuff since then he also hasn't aged a I haven't seen a picture of Kenny Chesney in 10 10 years he looks exactly the same he did 10 years you know why that is surgery yes I do I know exactly what that is okay all right you did it anybody whose face is that shiny I promise you they didn't do it from vitman iom I was going to throw a shout out to balls fans they're all well preserved all that moonshine they've been drinking well that's a good point Kenny Kenny Chesney is number one balls fan I had not thought of that a a woman was also at this concert she is not named in the story mhm but she was enjoying the concert and they were in the sand pit sand pit at Gillette Stadium which is that's odd to me as well sand pit okay and as she was listening swaying to the the the cool Groves of one Mr Kenneth chzn she felt what she described it it felt like something was splashing on my leg oh don't she had bought a pair of $180 boots just for this show I see this girl in my head as a guy that goes to a lot of concerts I know the girl that buys cowboy boots to go to a Kenny Chesney concert I'm just going to go out on the limb blue sundress uh sundress is possible okay the scirt is also a common yes uh and the cowgirl hat that's what's in my head mhm the kind that rolls up real big on the sides yep she turned around and she saw Mr Lynch and he was doing that thing that you would think he was a do it uh-uh well she calls over security sec security brings Mr Lynch out of the crowd and they decide they would like to have a conversation with him when they find him his zipper is down he has a Bud Light in his hand and his shorts appear to be wet aha all right we're going to have a little talk about whizzing where we're not supposed to be whiz it so come over four security guards talking to Mr Lynch about what he had done at which point he then takes goob out and begins to whiz again oh on the cops yeah that's a bad idea this is on security guards these were not actual cops these were security for for the venue if you thought you were going to stay out of jail for your in public quison when you did it on the security guard that was where that option was taken away that's a jayen that is a jayen uh he was taken to jail for disorderly cond conduct and destruction of property but I buried I buried the lead here what element of this story did did I leave out I don't know what is Mr Lynch's occupation oh gosh Boston state or a Massachusetts state trooper he's a state he's a cop he a he a cop he was a cop that decided to go whizzing where he wasn't supped to be whizzing yeah yeah uh the the the police or the the the chief or what I lost the his name said that we're aware of the arrest and it will be handled internally mhm which means there's there's F to be some Hazen at the Massachusetts state trooper's office because that fell is about to get mercilessly made fun of right wow wow there's just C I've I'm not g to lie this reminded me so much of a story that I cannot tell on this on on the it wasn't me but I was involved mhm I laughed until it hurt when I read this story earlier don't do that I mean like don't take somebody you always say don't don't do crimes I mean don't potty where you're not supposed to potty it's not that hard don't do it on the street don't do it on the cowgirl boots it's just it's not good I mean you know down an alley behind a wall where nobody can see you I can understand that but on someone ridiculous well I mean choose carefully what CU if you whiz on my cowgir boats one of them is going to need to be removed by a doctor cuz something came out of you and then it's Go I mean I got a good I got a good feeling nobody's walking up to your tree and going you know what I think I'll tinkle there I don't I don't believe that's the case I did once have a guy look at me and go I want to fight you and he hit me in the head with a beer bottle and it was at that point that he realized oh crap he's got a head like a cinder block um mhm I'm going have to shoot him or he's about to whip my keaster what kind of drugs do you have to do to think that's a good idea uh I don't know as big as you no God no he was Tiny um not tiny I was going to say was this was this like a Napoleon complex thing where like he the I'm going take him down a notch B uhoh oh boy and it was at that time that he knew he had up and it was this time when Justin realized that keeping it real had gone wrong exactly yeah yeah all right uh fantasy quarterbacks uh mop up here you got you you you got a spicy spicy like a guy that that you're planning on using to as you say beat everybody's brains out with this year because they're ignoring him I guess other than Justin Herbert and TR law which I've said I don't know a jillion times a buch I like will Levis way more than people think and I like Sam darnold way more than people think if you're playing in a superflex I know I know that everybody runs out to get quarterbacks I my strategy in a superflex league in a redraft not a dynasty not anything like soring Eagle was talking about earlier if I am just solely going from the path that I have super Flex spots and people start losing their minds on quarterbacks I would take one on the high side when the Run probably when the Run happens hopefully early maybe even the first round and then I'll wait for will Lis and Sam darnold and I'll play the matchups but I'm going to load up on running backs because if you're taking quarterbacks you're not taking running backs right and that would be my strategy because I mean I'll be honest with you I think there's a lot of guys that are fantasy fantasy useful I think the difference between Baker Mayfield and Jared gof is about three points a week and that's at most it may not be that much yeah the difference between Gino Smith and Kurt Cousins might be two points a week I don't think it's that drastic right so if he ain't first you're last I want to stay out of the meaty clackers I don't want to be any I don't want to deal CJ stad I don't really want to deal with Jordan love or I mean I they're fine and if you get to that point and the value is there that's fine I just I don't want to do that I I either want to get an absolute dog or more preferably wait until later and take right two of those forgotten characters uh coming up tonight week one in the college football season and uh daily Draft today it's going to be College Centric uh yeah we're planting Flags um I've I I've obviously with Engles I do a segment every week where I talk about betting things and in the offseason we talk about a lot of Futures so now I want to give you my favorites because you've heard just a slew of mine and I want tank to be able to plant his flag on teams that he thinks are good bad or indifferent okay so we're we're doing uh favorite fut bets in college football yes we've only got four teams of any consequence that have already played a game so I mean I don't I wasn't taking Florida State I don't think you were no Georgia Tech that booed by a full game and a half so I'm good I don't think I'll be doing that either okay we do have a super chat though we have a super chat okay yeah and it comes from sir jimothy and he says DC streams got me squared away easily do it now now yes do it now okay I'm going to tell you something and this is the truth cuz I I handle a lot of these things because Justin Harvey the guy that runs DC streams is a very good friend of mine has been for a long time of all the people which the number of you that have done it is staggering I didn't know it until like two weeks ago he told me how many people have signed up for that service through this show and it dumbfounded me I have never had a person come to me and go I wish I hadn't done all of them go so I can do this forever like I just keep giving this small amount of money and I never have to pay a cable bill or anything like that again yep that's exactly right that's how that works that's exactly the wagering right oh yeah and we can take it on the road it works anywhere I mean I plugged it into many a hotel room mhm Hilton we stayed at it was DC streaming it's I I mean this is a brand new year this is a year unlike any other for North Carolina football fans because we can do that thing remember remember how much more fun guys the uh the the the the college basketball was when we got hung up banners for but okay that's that's a way to go yes it doesn't matter what happened in the past it only was matters what's happening right now and Patrick hold is one of the the the the all-time best staters though for sure mhm mhm H um anyhow college football begins in Earnest tonight uh NC State yes they they could have a double digit win season this year I mean lose two games only losing two games seems like a tough thing until you look at the NC State schedule this year and go well you know they got Tennessee and uh Clon and Clemson the two orange teams they're the only ranked teams that they face all year long and then they play a cooking school a school for the blind um I'm pretty sure there was a trade a trade school there somewhere like jff Lumberjack school or something like that that they they play in the middle of the season right that schedule's bad it is bad it is bad um and I and I think since we've spoken about it here that that should be my pick for I think that's my favorite over under to be beaten at some point this year really that's your favorite one NC State at 8 and a half seems like a layup to me it it does seem that way I don't I mean look they were on my list I wasn't picking them first okay I just I I feel like state has burned me enough times that it's really hard for me to get there mhm to really trust that but hey you want to do it I will I will trust it you want to do I I will trust it and I know every state fan just heard me say that and went oh God tank Spencer Kiss of Death the the tank Spencer kod yeah maybe see what I'm doing here all right so you started with NC State yep I am also going to start with a school that plays in a prime spot M this weekend okay and this is going to seem a little crazy until you look at their schedule and just go you're not good M I'm going under eight and a half for USC it's it's doed down to seven and a half in some places but I can still actively get it at8 and a half all right they play 12 games on the season so that means they would have to not lose four games mhm they play LSU in Las Vegas they play at Michigan they play Notre Dame they play Penn State that's four losses right there yep that's the easiest that I've ever seen even at seven and a half they still have to play Nebraska and at Washington and at Maryland and at Minnesota and I'm not sure that you're better than any of those I think this USC team has completely jumped the shark they were God awful defensively last year they're not great defensively this year because it's still a lot of the same guys and now you're going Miller Moss who oh but he broke a record in a bowl game uhhuh yeah he did against backups I'm good you couldn't consistently win with Caleb Williams what do you think is going to happen now you're going into a conference that's predicated on defense and you don't play any yes I don't disagree at all my second one is a team that was also in the Pack 12 last year that is in a new conference this year I'm going to go over seven and a half for Arizona I don't know what BR Brandon I I can't figure out the the the transitive property okay Brent Brandon was at at San Jose State he leaves and takes the Arizona job M we now think so little of San Jose State that I'm pretty sure they're going to end up being a dog to an FCS team before it's all said and done talk about that in bers but he and so he was so well respected he kept that program together they were good blah blah blah so he goes to Arizona and now you think he's two to three games worse than you thought they were with Jed fish who's never really been a great coach what what am I missing here you have four four top 50 prospects you have three first round draft picks that if they show up and tie their shoes every week are going in the first round of the NFL draft next year that's better than seven and a half wins in the Big 12 Y and you don't even play a tough Big 12 schedule mhm you got a lot of those pack 10 team teams I I I don't get it I have a significant amount of money wrapped up into Arizona okay Arizona over seven and a half seven and a half all right I'm going uh I'm gonna go back to back unders here oh I scared tank what do you mean I told him to be careful taking overs cuz everybody looks at overs and goes oh that'll be easy and you don't realize how hard it is to actually get to nine wins um no I I uh I just I just look at a couple of teams and go I'm not real sure there's there's there's much of a path I get that these are going to be risks however at plus money I feel okay with taking the risk the first one is Oklahoma seven and a half is out of the question for me you face six teams that I don't know how you're going to beat they have six games on their schedule that are the toughest around and I don't know how they overcome that I just look at that and go okay to to to to beat that they're going to have to win eight games I count up that schedule and I don't know that I see eight Tennessee Texas Old Miss Missouri Alabama LSU you're not better than any team I just said no under seven and a half gives you plus plus money right now plus 100 I feel like that's I feel like that's worth it yeah I mean that is technically that's it is it is right I mean it's even I get it but still it's better odds than you're getting on many of these well I mean and you also have to look at the fact that they have to play Houston and two lane in the non-conference and they have to go to Auburn not going to be easy no none of this is easy and you're coached by the [ __ ] keeper I I'm I don't hate that they were on my list I didn't think I had to take them this early yeah uh Oklahoma I'm going under the seven and a half and and then I'm taking He Who Shall Not Be Named coach Prime ah or as Co or as I called him this morning in my sports report coach bum from Colorado I'm trying to get banned he's he can't hear me but I'm going to keep shouting it their number is at five and a half and I know that doesn't sound like a lot and it's going to be close it it'll be real close because they've got possibly six games on that schedule that they could win but I I I think it's I think it's going to just blow up in great fashion and I think they're staring at a five- win season at best I seriously consider taking Colorado over did you I really did really this team is going to be better than they were mhm because the level of talent is better you've still got skill guys I I I can't ride with you on this one okay I I really can't I don't think he's a good coach I'm not sure that that that Elmer fud couldn't coach this team to to a bowl game I mean just off the top of my head you pull you start with an FCS team tonight you play Colorado State who is awful Baylor who is awful UCF who is awful Cincinnati who is awful MH then just to get to six all you have to do is beat one of Nebraska Kansas State Arizona Texas Tech Utah Kansas Oklahoma State Y and three of those teams I don't believe in that much you can sneak one of those really if you just win if you just hold serve and pull one upset you're good and I think you've got a quarterback that's he is he is and then you keep talking about this one so I'm gonna stay in the same conference and I'll take Old Miss over the nine and a half you should you should I mean I've been baiting you to do that for two road against LSU but if I if you're telling me that okay they're going to lose to LSU lose to Georgia even if they lost to Oklahoma don't they still pay this off yes so again feels like free money opening up the season this weekend against the Ferman paladins good luck boys um my next one is going to be a little odd because I've railed on this team Clemson's at eight and a half M uh they're another one of those that's sitting on a hole number right now waiting for action one way or the other okay but you can get Clemson at eight and a half that's dumb uh do do you know what their their schedule looks like all right so let's say theoretically they lose to Georgia NC State Florida State that's three ranked teams that they have on the schedule right now yes and I'm two of those are not a forego conclusion the other games they play are App State Stanford Wake Forest Virginia Louisville Virginia Tech Pittsburgh The Citadel South Carolina you tell me where the losses come in there because I don't see them yeah you show up and put your pants on the right way uh nine wins okay and winner I don't see anything wrong with that not at all I want to take Pinn State under n and a half because to me it is absolutely insane that they're that high we do this every year they're aided by Bowl wins to get to 10 to get a double digit victories I don't think they're that good I think they are insanely vulnerable this week against the pride of the mountains the West Virginia MERS but there is one number that I find to be just just a smidge dumber and it's just it for me this is straight up disrespect okay it's Georgia Tech okay that I would have assumed that number would have moved more than it did if they're Bowl elig you're in good shape and that's dumb this is a team that runs really well they're really good defensively and you just saw them beat one of the best teams on their schedule are they going to beat Georgia no there's not a ton of other losses on that schedule MH I don't know anybody else that's on that schedule other than other than Carolina I did see early see that earlier today that they will be playing uh Carolina oh I'll tell it to you in order they're already one and0 y I only have to get to six they play Georgia State Syracuse VMI Louisville Duke North Carolina Notre Dame Virginia Tech Miami NC State Georgia the end is bad is bad but I may be sitting on a winter before we ever play any of those this is true CU I can see a path that you're seven and0 and I've already cashed this ticket and I don't care if you lose all five I don't buy into couple of those ACC teams at the end as much as everybody else seems to right all right so Georgia Tech and who was the other one you took oh Clemson Clemson that leaves me with one H I keep staring Texas A&M and USC that's three ranked teams that none of the three of them to me deserve was the USC that was I would have taken LSU over because they were at eight and a half and I would have taken that older generation and you got some got some toughing MH apparently Lisa Bishop toughen he tried to drug her Coke can with a mixture of MDMA cocaine and benzos trying to get rid of his wife oh he's just trying to get rid of her take take K could you take a possible guess at what half of his motive was uh life insurance life insurance well he came up with a plan can't really tell if he actually we can't tell if this other person was involved but we know what his plan was he had conspired with his stepdaughter which would be Miss Bishop's Daughter to eliminate her mhm and she allegedly provided the white powder which was the MDMA cocaine and benzos that he put into Miss Bishop's coca they were then he was going to leave the daughter and her friend were going to come over and quote put on a show until the drugs did their thing they would call the cops and they would all be in the clear now the stepdaughter allegedly was going to pay Mr Ruff in sexual favors with her and her friend she is in her 30s we don't know exactly how old this is according to Mr Ruff we've heard nothing from the stepdaughter okay he tried to do this 12 times oh my it never worked she lived she's still alive still alive he tried 12 times 12 times wow there's no oopsie Poopsy I put my cocktail in there uh no no no no no no no no you underestimated and and and this is a great message for the for the young men out there if you think you're tough you talk to a 70-year old no they've seen some things oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah they might not be able to deal with complex carbohydrates but they will sports accuracy it only took two weeks but we're finally toward the end or at the end of the fantasy um position breakdowns tight ends for this year floer Damas has been dubbed the tight end Whisperer and it all started well for me anyway my first introduction to the tight end Whisperer came with Mark Andrew in the draft several years ago then we had Darren Waller y that was a good one that was a good one as well uh you've had several hits here uh he's usually the guy that late in the season when you need a tight end to come off the waiver wire pretty much knows uh who or or guesses well at least who is going to perform for you that week so it's kind of an authority on tight ends my opinion your number one tight end has it changed yes and is it my guy it's amort from Detroit yeah it's Sam God I love him Kansas City to me you're you're just for me it's basically 1 a 1B because I think there is a significant drop off from there [Music] mhm I don't think you go wrong with either one I think they're going to be close to each other Kelsey who is my one be if you hadn't figured that out y he has the better quarterback he has less competition but there's also a great chance that you're not going to have as many I I have a weird feeling Kansas City is those super close games I don't think you're going to see as much of that this year the defense is good the running game is good they can grind you out in a way that they never have before right so I I do believe you will see a bit of an aggression from Travis Kelce which is just enough for Sam lorta to catch him mhm end of the year last year was where the separation came in for me was okay it's I think it's about time for us to talk about the drop off from Travis Kelce has begun it's like the last six weeks of the season last year was not great I think his high water mark was like 12 points or something 15 points the last few handful of game games he'd scored in double or in single digits the Taylor Swift Kiss of Death literally Kiss of Death yeah um and I just I you know I believed in Sam last year coming into the season as a rookie and he did nothing to sway me off of this guy is a Terminator he is the next great tight end you know he's the number one tight end fantasy football last year right now in terms of points per game two of them beat him but they both missed time mhm so with uh with another year under his belt and uh thing good things happening in Detroit Sam leapor of the new number one tight end preseason fantasy football Travis Kelce is two and then you said marked drop off to who at three Trey McBride I like that Arizona offense it's the defense that I'm really not bullish on I I don't love it but that's beneficial for all of the weapons and if you look at what you got out of Trey McBride at the end of last year you saw where that that's what he was drafted to be he was borderline or relevant from week one to week seven mhm really kind of burst on the scene in week eight week eight to week 18 how many tight ends in fantasy football were better than Trey mcbrien uh I'll say sam leapa nope no tbate lorta really yep okay the only two were David and Joko and Evan Ingram Evan Ingram I feel like that's a name we'll be saying and they were super close mhm he's got the ability for those big pop games and he will I mean obviously it all it it starts I guess with I mean by name and by Talent it will start with Marvin Harrison Jr but Trey is real close in that packing order he's the two to me and he and and with already having eight games of playing with Kyler Murray the trust is probably their great to start with I would imagine with Trey McBride than it is with mhj all right so he's at three marks at four George KD George KD at four if anything were to happen to Debo or iuk and the iok situation is on today what feels like 217 of his hold in if either one of those guys were to disappear for any reason George KD would probably be one C mhm it's hard for me to forecast that happening but you mix in the fact that he has a really good schedule for tight ends a lot of teams that struggle with tight ends or had pieces that moved on and I don't know exactly how good you're going to be against tight ends he's set up for a really really good year MH George KD's also insanely consistent at not being Elite Elite but also never giving you those Bootsy bum games that tight ends do well I mean how many of the how many is your threshold cuz I mean last year from we I'm using the same metric he started slow he probably should not have played in at least two of those games from week eight on which is what I gave with Trey McBride In The Power of crunch weeks he went 24 20 1/2 23 five 10 and 3/4 16 7 and 1/2 20 six yep uh the six they'd already locked up the division it it was over they're not playing for anything you do run into that risk but I think there's two good good teams in that division that will keep it close Okay George Kettle and number four number five you're wanting to say Mark Andrew I am one I'm not going to it's dton King K okay it's another one of the and when we get to Andrews I'll explain why he's why he's lower for me than he's been in the past okay K Kade is the second best receiver in Buffalo at worst he might be the best receiver in Buffalo and him playing in that slot position I see a great chance that he's going to especially if you're playing in PPR I love dton King Kade I can see a path he leads tight ends in in terms terms of no total number of catches what may hold him back is that I'm not sure he is going to score as much as you want him to because I think Keon Coleman's the Red Zone Target I think Josh Allen running is a Red Zone Target uh James Cook Out Of The Back Field could be a Target down close I'm not sure where he falls in the pecking order when we get to the Red Zone but between the 20s he is just going to eat teams alive yep and for a uh if you were in a tight end Premium League those those extra catches come in handy okay after K Kade this is where you get Mark Andre Okay I was wondering how far you were going to push him down that list well I mean look Mark Andrews is treated like he's an elite tight end right how many times he scored over 145 points in fantasy football oh I don't know it's once ever yeah what yeah that seems impossible yeah he's he is a very good real life football player he is so touchdown dependent that it is pitiful because he just outside of two years one specifically I mean he had almost 1400 yards in 21 mhm he hadn't had 1400 yards since so I think he is high in the pecking order of receivers for Baltimore I just don't think he is as Elite I think he's an elite football player I don't think he's as Elite in fantasy football as people make him out to be okay because you grisled when I said George KD doesn't have those bum games I saw the look on your face I know exactly why you did that well because he had six of them last year where you went where the hell was he and four of them were in the first five weeks yes yeah when it mattered George K was really really good Mark Andrews was too though not last jury wasn't really cuz he wasn't on the field he was hurt oh I was looking at the wrong screen I guess my bad yeah I mean look Mark Andrews missed the last what seven weeks of the Season yes uh he had a 25 he had a 22 other than that he never went above 17 points all year mhm that's not a lead you don't ever really have a leak games he's just consistently good and that's fine I would rather play the matchups y same way I feel about the next guy on the list which is Kyle pittz Kyle pittz has all the talent in the world until I see you do it I don't really trust it all that much does help that he's got a quarterback now though it does he to me is very interesting do they play him as a natural tight end you didn't see that a lot with Arthur Smith Arthur Smith used him as a glorified wide receiver I'm not sure Raheem Morris and and Zack Robinson are going to do that I'm also not sure that that it's beneficial that you don't do that he played that way at Florida too I'm not sure how he will look lining up in line I don't know there's just a lot of there's a lot of the of up in the air with Kyle pittz that makes me nervous yep you got to put that put that tape on of Travis Kelce or something and this is how you exploit how you line up and you still exploit those seams all right after Kyle oh after I don't know why I clicked away from that screen as I knew you were going to ask me that question uh Jacob Turd Ferguson okay I think he is about as athletic as I am but he somehow old guy at the gym finds a way to get open constantly and now he's the two in Dallas there's a blessing and a curse to that teams that have legit number ones can really put a lot of attention on Jake Ferguson because he really makes that offense go so you can see that both sides of the coin he's going to get a lot of targets he's also going get a lot of attention so I kind of split the difference and played it safe all right and then rounding out the top 10 uh it would be nine okay T.J hackinson but he's going to miss the four first four games I don't care don't care even a little bit hey would you like to hear the list of uh tight ends in fantasy football last year that scored more points per game than T.J Hockinson you want to hear it again cuz there wasn't mhm but what about the injury well it wasn't exactly like he was an athletic freak to begin with and now you got a lesser quarterback lesser quarterbacks tend to really lean on tight ends I think this offense really leans on tight end and he comes back week five the defense is terrible yep the defense is terrible and if you look at the schedule that schedule kind of lines up he misses the some of the worst games for a tight end I have him in every League I've drafted so yep he goes so late and I just take usually the guy that I'm getting ready to say right here and it's all fine who's at 10 Dalton Schultz from the from the Houston Texans I don't see a ton of Red Zone Targets in Houston I don't know that he's going to catch a ton of passes but I could easily see him being a great touchdown scorer uh guys that were not on the list Evan Ingram Evan Ingram I don't think is going to age well and now it's harder for me to figure out how you're going to get him on the field consistently cuz he can't block he played as a wide receiver much like Kyle pittz did the problem is he can't do anything he's a he's a glorified slot receiver well you have three receivers now that you're invested in so I think his snapshare goes through the floor he'll still be fine I'm just not really counting on it David Joko he's so Boomer bust for me and now you have three legit receivers in Cleveland OH and by the way you don't have a quarterback that I trust at all and then you have a bunch of dudes that I think are very similar Dallas Gard Pat Fri moou
