2022 Topps Update Opening: Bobby Witt Jr SP/SSP Search!

welcome back to my channel everybody today we are going to be opening these two hobby packs of 2022 Topps update um it's set that has just kind of grown in popularity ever since it was released uh the big draw for this is the SSP short print super short print excuse me and short print variations of Bobby Whit Jr and Julio Rodriguez although Julio has kind of cooled off this season compared to last year and Bobby Wht has um kind of gone through the stratosphere with his numbers currently so uh a few weeks ago I actually purchased a hanger box of the the um 2022 tops update I didn't open it on camera I was able to pull the uh Bas version I just grabbed it off of eBay and got the Basse version of Bobby wh which is I don't know like A5 to $10 card I don't know exactly um but we'll be looking for any of the us100 Bobby wit cards which would include the base card obviously any parallels the gold parallel of this is actually um super super um exploded in price as well but then the SP which is kind of the mullet version and the SSP where he's at the batting cage that would be the absolute um ideal scenario here because that is the card that I don't have and one that I would absolutely um fall out of my chair to pull here so we're starting off the Jump with a legend Albert phol and US 300 uh update series uh we've got a lot of rookies in here and rookie debuts you can see Jose Miranda there there's the Gatorade bath for Luis torren CJ Abrams isn't bad rooky debut Duran Rickie debut he's really had a nice year as well after kind of just being blah uh for the first part of his couple Seasons manah we have Matt Duffy these All-Star versions of the cards which I guess are kind of like a little subset or insert Set uh we hit the 87 Mike Trout I've always 87 was the first I started collecting so I've always been partial to the 87 design and I know tops is used it a lot um and the fact that we don't have it yet means it's probably not going to come because it would have been right there where those inserts are Daniel Norris Bradley Zimmer and Ricky debut of NJ Melendez although this one is actually somewhat uh popular as well in the hobby semi-popular I guess because it also has Bobby Wood Jr in there this is the date of Bobby wit's first career home one home run excuse me uh it obviously doesn't say that on this card but but Melendez made his debut and Bobby Whit Jr hit a home run in this game for his first career home run and that was against the St Louis Cardinals in the I70 series rivalry so that card is actually not just a common card um I mean obviously it sort of is but it holds a little bit more value just because Bobby Witch is on there all right so we're 0 for one but I like the trout you're not going to get a Bobby we might as well get a Mike Trout uh and then we have something looks like diecut card or something in there in the middle Alec Thomas who's kind of had a lost year this year with injuries Taylor Hearn he was on the Royals for a w no was he on the Royals for a while I thought he might have been and they let him go Jesu Sanchez has just never really put it together there was a time where I thought he was going to be pretty good Andrew McCutchen is he a Hall of Famer I don't really know maybe maybe not 47 and a half 47 45.7 excuse me war um almost 1,000 RB gu I don't know uh do not know if this young man did anything kareah we've got Gabriel Arius and then if we were going to hit anything awesome it would be right in this area there's the alcine rest in peace alcine he was always a good through the mail autograph guy uh Cooper hmel Lugo who's been a relev revelation for the Royals this year Brendan Donovan rookie Adam Engel and aino Suarez for the Seattle Mariners so did not get the wit or the Julio or anything crazy however when you put whatever $15 or $16 investment into it and a couple hoppy packs obviously I knew the chances were very very slim so thank you so much for watching this one guys um and maybe at some point I'll be able to track down that card but as of now it is still elusive we'll see you
