AND THEY DON'T FAVOR A DEAL EITHER. U.S. STEEL ITSELF IS SAYING WE WANT TO BE SOLD. WE WANT TO BE SOLD TO A JAPANESE COMPANY JAPAN IS AN ALLY AND NOT AN ENEMY OF THE U.S. THEY WERE GOING TO INVEST IN U.S. SEAL. AND THEY WERE GOING TO LOSE WORKERS POTENTIALLY. IT IS SO THAT IS AN ELECTION YEAR. IT WAS BASED IN PITTSBURGH AND THE UNIONS THAT WE KNOW ARE HERE IN THE U.S. BUT WE KNOW THAT THE COMPANY ITSELF WILL ACTUALLY BE STRONGER IF IT WAS SOLD. WE TALK ABOUT SOMETHING ELSE I FIND AS COMPLETELY FASCINATING. THEY'VE OUTLINED DISINFORMATION SCHEME WHICH WAS PRETTY WIDESPREAD. USING THE AMERICAN INFLUENCERS HERE. I WANT TO PLAY SOME OF WHAT THEY WERE LOOKING AT YESTERDAY. THIS IS WHAT THEY WERE LOOKING AT HERE AND IT WAS A BIGGER THREAT THAN IT WAS BEFORE. >> THIS WAS A SCHEME THAT THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT SAYS THE RUSSIAN GOVERNMENT WAS BEHIND. WHAT SORT OF INFORMATION WAS BEING PUMPED OUT HERE? >> A PAIR OF RUSSIANS WHO WORK FOR THE MEDIA OUTLETS SPEND MORE THAN $10 MILLION TO LOOK AT A COMPANY IN TENNESSEE TO PUMP OUT THIS INFORMATION. THAT IS ILLEGAL AND MONEY LAUNDERING. AND THEN THEY ALSO PAID INFLUENCERS TO PENPAL PROPAGANDA THAT WAS FAVORABLE TO THE RUSSIAN GOVERNMENT. AND SOMETIMES THAT MEANT SEWING DISINFORMATION ON BOTH SIDES AND SOMETIMES THAT EVEN MEN'S IMITATING LEGITIMATE WASHINGTON POST TO MAKE THEM LOOK LIKE THEY WERE SAYING SOMETHING THAT THEY WERE NOT. THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT WAS INVOLVED IN THAT'S WIDESPREAD WITH THESE EFFORTS TO SO DISINFORMATION AHEAD OF THE NOVEMBER ELECTIONS. >> THIS MESSAGING CAN BE VERY SUBTLE AND NOT NECESSARILY OVERT.
