good morning Toronto on this Monday it's a lovely morning Meredith Shaw sit xero here with you great to see you hope you had a terrific weekend get out there if you can I know there's a little bit of rain in the forecast but before school is back in enjoy The Unofficial rest of your summer cuz this is the week where it starts to really like the pedal hits the metal you know like the kids like I'm going through socks I'm making sure clothes are the like it it you think you've got time and then this is the week then it yeah you're trying to like Squeeze In Summer but also trying to buy binders of oxymoron yeah I'm with you well however you're spending your week glad you're spending your morning with us here on Breakfast Television um only murders in the building season 4 is upon us I believe it debuts this week the premere for season 4 uh with Steve Martin Martin schz Selena Gomez is one of my favorite shows right now yes and and so many Emmy nominations including this year for Selena Gomez so good for her so a storyline that developed last season was with Merill stre now I'm always concerned about the cameos building on the show yeah because I've seen shows ruined by everyone who wants in on this great idea and no one knows how to write the character in properly um the writing on the show is pretty good so Merill Streep was easily written into the script yeah uh last season and Martin Short and Merl Streep for those who Haven haven't seen the show were love interests as it went along yes they were so this was the scene recently at the Los Angeles premiere for season 4 of only murders in the building Merill Street come on and Martin Short hand in hand or more more more accurately fingers on fingers even more intimate right yeah as they walked in uh later on they were at an Afterparty apparently still holding hands look at that at the after party Steve Martin looking like a bit of a you know third third wheel there Steve Martin third Wheeling third Wheeling uh Merl's 74 Martin is 75 they have said many times and reiterated recently they are not dating they have come out and said that they're being very friendly with each other with the hands but they are not dating Meredith Shaw I almost called you Merl stream merid sha I know I know that's that's a compliment can you still be just friends and you at home can you just friends and hold hands while publicly holding hands at a very public event with many cameras present I mean no I don't think so I haven't done it I haven't done it with just a friend at holding hand holding hands is is I've done with a girlfriend sure but a a a male friend we have never been out at an event and held hands that would be that hasn't happened for us yeah that would be that would be a choice that we' make that we would not that we wouldn't make it so I I think that they have a little something cooking that they're not letting us in on and I am so here for it the two of them are are are no longer with their you know long marriages right cor so it's all okay and you look they're they're two of the best people we've got in the business and there sort of not people that you think of in a romantic way and the fact that they found each other I mean I know they said they haven't but you know if they have I'm in if we could throw the picture up again from that La premiere for season 4 of I mean walking in that feels a little like we're co-stars here we go true no it's a valid point the other one that feels a little intimate it the other one's more intimate but I believe this is brilliant marketing for this season because great show because those two on camera have pretty good chemistry they do and you're kind of and the story lines I'm not going to get into it you got to watch the show but the story lines are good they're strong they're funny they're emotional they're all the things and to have it take me a second to get into though their relationship or the show the show oh I had I had to second try it it has a language and a face and a feel and I was like o I'm not ready for this there's a rat attach get me back toves there's a ratat took me a second but uh I I think whatever is going on I think it's perfect timing because we're all talking about it and uh again and Dil saw I think dvo saw the first five or six episodes thumbs up he gave it a big thumbs up for the season which I was again more cameos in this in in this coming season which I I would do worry about Dil said everything's good it it's it's only murders in the building as you know it as You Love It Is Love in the air with Merill stre and Martin Short who knows so let's speculate good morning 757 you're watching BT
