Sony Shuts Down Concord After Two Weeks

after only 2 weeks since release Sony's attempt on the hero shooter Concord has been shut down apparently it is estimated to have cost firewalk Studios tens of millions of dollars to produce and 6 to 8 years to develop but sold so little copies that it became non-profitable to service some are arguing that in an oversaturated Market a hero shooter probably should be free to play in the first place given that it's basically a pure multiplayer experience but given the fact that XDS from bunge respawn Activision BioWare and Raven soft where were're on the team to create it and wanted to release a game without putting in microtransactions is admirable even if the gameplay ended up not being very good at all and due to the extremely low player counts the devs have announced that at this time we have decided to take the game offline beginning September 6 2024 and explore options including those that will better reach our players Concord sales will cease immediately and we will begin to offer a full refund for all Gamers who have purchased the game for PS5 or PC so at the very least people will receive refunds for their purchase which is absolutely the right thing to do in the face of a live service being shut down it's unclear at this stage that even if Concord were to go free to-play if it would make a comeback big enough to become a popular Mainstay in gaming culture games like no man's Sky may have had absolutely awful launchers but at least they had enough players to justify working on the game and making it the incredible property it is today some are claiming that Concord simply looked boring and generic and that is the reason it was more or less ignored compared to exciting character design seen in properties like valve's unfinished deadlock which also aims to produce a hero shooter slm in an already extremely saturated market and fluence what could be described as an extremely diverse roster of characters concord's heroes definitely are not the worst character designs out there but they aren't exactly popping out of the screen like overwatch's identifiable Silhouettes the law is meant to be comprehensive and fun to read and yet it seems like they aren't enough invested in the overall story to keep them on the right track in short the taking off line of Concord servers despite it being a product that required millions in Investments has become huge news in the gaming world as it completely flopped in record time despite firewalk studios's pedigree of Industry veterans what meme would you guys like me to give a lesson in next let me know in the comments below and remember like And [Laughter] subscribe or else
