[Applause] welcome everybody to another presentation of the NBA live on 2K sports two slam dunk Champs Grant Hill and Brent Barry our analysts tonight Brian Anderson here we'll hear from Ali leforce as well all right checking out Golden State opening lineup Curry and heel to the sharp shooting back court Wiggins and green hold down the forward spots and it's Jackson Davis in at the five roaming the paint and for the Knicks it's Brunson divon chenzo Bridges and Hart a bunch of wildcats out there on the floor and it's Randall in a center filling out the middle Grant one thing these teams have in common they are great at rebounding the basketball oh yes they are I mean it'll be a battle down low boxing out is vital and second chance points may just decide this game now here's Brunson up and in on the layup Brunson one of those players that's just not going to be denied determined to convert inside and he does outside green heeled on the wing Wiggins outside uses the glass to finish the layup and setting the tempo with an assertive move like where was the defense on that play yeah APB sent out to try to find out where the defense is inexcusable and the foul called on buddy heel that's his first foul of the game first [Applause] foul here's Randall softly drops in the floater yeah it's strong and it's athletic and it's left-handed so tough for guys to adjust to that Randall tough match up and Brent this Knicks team they've taken on the identity of their head coach well ba isn't it interesting Tom Tibido lots of scuttlebutt about him as the coach and then they brought in players that kind of fit the coach they play hard they play defense first they play a ton of minutes but this team is gritty and they don't give up and let's swing it over to the sideline and here from allly I had a chance to catch up with Tom to I asked him specifically about Stephan Curry and what his defensive game plan is for him and he told me I just talked with them about communicating out there especially when the screens are coming we can't give Steph an inch in those situations I think it's fair to say we can expect to hear a lot of chatter out there tonight guys all right appreciate it Ally he misses the free throw one thing this Golden State team does very well is control the offensive glass Brent well there's been a lot of talk analytically ba about how advantageous it is to come in and swoop through to grab offensive rebounds golden state is bought into that philosophy they also have guys who take a lot of long shots so that's long rebounds with a better chance of gaining an extra possession so some smart analytical play here from Golden State in the past couple Seasons well Grant all the High Hopes Knicks fans have had in recent years they have finally come to fruition yeah it really was good to see the Knicks have a great campaign last year from the players to the coaches to the front office and the fans they've pressed all the right buttons RightWay Brunson passes to Bridges cutex from downtown brid is confident right now and I like to see him just be quick with those kind of decisions and so Curry will bring it up for Golden State it's a three-point game green finds Curry Randle pulls down the board yeah I can't see why he missed that one there the D's close but like plenty of room hard passes to Brunson fires from the line and it's New York York with another that's where Brunson gets a lot of his baskets he just thrives in the mid and Curry's got the ball here for the Warriors and Steve Kerr calls timeout here he wants a few moments to regroup with his players it's hard to believe now but Julius Randall has been in the league over a decade now BR yeah it's been a an interesting ride for Julius Randall a lot of different roles but he's evolved his game quite a bit some he's done himself and then guys have adjusted around the way he has been a leader a scorer a rebounder a presence Julius Randle continues to impress and make strides now here's green he takes it in oh and makes it with the kiss got to admire Draymond Green being Fearless that time no problem going straight at the defense Brun againsts Curry remaining in the first two minutes now here's Brunson defense is right there and the rebound goes to the Warriors 152 left in the opening quarter green the pass to Curry green with a screen on Brunson the three from Curry har pulls it in New York leaving by three it's bridges on the wing outside Brunson off Target from outside but a d really getting away with one there no one on him that's going to be good nine out of 10 time Al you up top Hammer at home you could just see how in sync they were there that's what it takes to pull that off here's Randall following the score by Golden State pass to Bridges Randall left side plenty of room around him and it's good randle's got five yeah randle's not passing that one up fantastic job at converting when he's got the kind of position like that outside heel there's 49 seconds left in the first and they call an illegal screen here you can get away with one once in a while but it looked like he wasn't completely set on that pick yeah a quick little lean like that is going to get the ref's attention foul call New York making a switch here Anon noi's checked in Anderson's checked in for the Warriors kaminga comes in for Andrew Wiggins now here's Brunson shoots the shot no good well they shouldn't be giving that shot to anyone but they certainly shouldn't be giving it to him that's a big break for the defense outside heel from behind the ark and it's New York with a rebound Bridges left side New York again can't hit Warriors Trail by three on the wing Curry over Brunson Curry gets the bucket Curry Curry's gotten his second bucket that's just tremendous scoring Instinct so fun to watch him work in the half court oh a good close contest so far as we finish the first quarter New York out in front leading by one and close game underway so far we'll see if either of these teams can jump out ahead in this second quarter all right guys what's your take on the Knick so far we all know good ball movement is what most coaches harp on and their passing's been excellent so far well everybody just feeling the energy of the basketball as they moved it around and lots of hands were touching it [Applause] so on the floor for Golden State to kick off the second quarter H and pods make up the back court Kyle Anderson is out there with cavon Looney and it's kaminga in at the three the three from Curry oh Curry just nasty from downtown well Grant you played on some very tight-knit teams talk to us about chemistry well ba you know in some sports chemistry is not a big issue but in basketball it is huge have to trust and believe in your teammates and it has to be a unit not five separate individuals yeah brunson's the kind of guy who's going to seek you out and try to get that kind of contact Brunson against Curry pass to kaminga Out of Bounds it'll be New York's ball Nick B Randall against [Music] Anderson Randall outside and the layup is good off the glass Randall's got seven points in the game they keep capturing the lead then giving it back we'll see if they can hold on to it this time well you couldn't tell they really want to increase this lead they can't keep letting them take it from them all right let's check in with Ali Le the Nick's style is defined by grit and physicality guard Dante dienzo said guys know it's a way to stay on the floor it's funny because when you have everybody doing it you stand out more when you're not doing it you don't want to be that guy on film not playing defense Brian Two Shots you'll get called out for sure it's a culture of effort Ally thank you that free throw no good you know not too many teams have the stability at head coach as the Warriors have had Brent well I'm not sure there's ever been a more perfect fit for a team than Steve Kerr with the Golden State Warriors it has been a magical run in the Bay Area and you just look at the type of connectivity he has with his players and again how much joy these Warriors play with and he's going on the second the Knicks with the lead Brunson surveys and we're a little over a minute and a half into the second quarter and it's New York scoring again Brunson just knows how to manufacture points right now being assertive outside green to the inside oh stolen by anobi pass break New York for three Randall Nails it from Beyond The Arc now it's a six-point Nick lead yeah he's such a difficult big Randall is someone you have to run off those short Corner threes Curry passes to green back to Curry from deep and that comes off the assist by Green Curry's got six points in the quarter these teams are fin finding the range showing a lot of confidence it seems like they're going to find out who can make the deepest threes right now it's a shootout here's Brunson Looney grabs a Miss that's got to frustrate him he knows he should have made that one yeah you can't make them all and you for sure you want him taking that kind of shot gr when you look at Draymond Green's career you think he's going to the Hall of Fame you know ba I believe so he's won multiple titles and we know how impactful he has been as a Defender and distributor especially I think we'll see him in Springfield one [Applause] day the first one Falls and let's talk about Draymond Green for a moment certainly one of the most outspoken players in the league Bren well Draymond has never helped back whether he's talking about his opinion or the way that he sees the game which is remarkable and a revelation to his intelligence as a defender on the floor Draymond Green has been special on the defensive end throughout his career and the fire that Draymond Green plays with I think is the most admirable quality knows how to get himself and his teammates going throughout the course of a long grinding 82 Game season with Brunson being under eyes he has such a great feel for how to create space bre incredible footwork VA the way he puts the needle on the record and just scratches it and pivots around makes Defenders jump and move amazing manipulation skills at the point guard position for a guy his size to get it done in the painted area and he makes a first well Grant one thing about this Knicks team they have a clear identity yeah they have the mentality of their City New York City playing the game with passion and in-your-face attitude and of course these Knicks leave it all out on the floor and that one goes in two from the line that time Brent everyone loves an Underdog Story and there's few better than that of Jaylen Brunson yeah this kid falling into the second round and all the perception around whether or not he was big enough or can he shoot the ball is he athletic enough this gu has continued to work hard every year and turned himself into an Allstar and an all NBA player here's Bridges soft touch off the glass Bridges has got five points the a Nimble play by Bridges inside navigating the contact and getting to his [Applause] finish hard against Green back to Curry [Music] [Applause] just five on the clock and again no good by Golden State and so Randall will bring it up for New York leading by five outside dant chenzo from outside the Ark rebounded by Green the Warriors have gone two of four here in the second quarter pass to Jackson Davis [Applause] Curry against Brunson three-pointer Curry no good Knicks leading by five to the paint here's Randall no good off the glass golden state has gone two of four from the perimeter in the second so far you love how eager Wiggins is to involve his teammates that's a nice assist wi there's 37 seconds left in the second period Randle deciding where to go with it the 11 footer and he drains it a solid five for six now Randle right now going to town on the defense taking over this game Curry against Brunson for the participant [Applause] and we're halfway through this one plenty of basketball left in a game that's been a fairly even one Julius Randall has been Sensational when he got good position and they got the ball to him he was automatic yeah we'll see if the double team start to come here in the second half to make them adjust offensively but he's going to keep going at him Warriors Trail by five it's Brunson divon chenzo Bridges and Hart a bunch of wildcats out there on the floor and it's Randall in at to five so that's who's on the floor for the Knicks still the strongest part of Buddy hee's game he is a lethal shooter what a perfect stroke that was Randle inside covered by Jackson Davis here's Brunson six on the shot clock they double Randall rep pointer Bridges sinks the tray Bridges has got eight points canning it from the corner isn't as easy as bridges made it look that time you know a reliable veteran like Julius Randle is so valuable he provides a foundation for everyone else to play off of because they know he'll be there to score and help out he makes it easier for other players to succeed around him [Applause] Randall is screen on heel here's stenzo and there's a whistle he'll head to the line to shoot two there's another level to Deen chenzo game and it starts to happen when he attacks like that it's his first trip to the line at the line two shots and he drops a first and D venzo I think is starting to take a lot of pride in the fact that he could do a lot of little things for the basketball team that add up he scores he can get some rebounds and get some assists he's a weapon no good on the second free throw Warriors Trail by three theimer pass to Green outside Curry for the tie ooh a misfire there he's made five he's missed five New York has gotten three of their seven threes to find the net in this matchup Wiggins against Bridges shoots over Wiggins excellent D there from Wiggins golden state has gone two of three from outside so far in the third quarter it's stolen by Hart pass to Bridges the three warriors with the [Music] rebound Wiggins outside outside Curry from the ark man he's now six for 11 after that one good strategy here from the coaching staff put the ball in Curry's hands and see what happens actually ends up being pretty good here's Brunson outside yes yes sir Brunson for three Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better that one felt a little personal right there yeah again you can't take this too far to make it too selfish but that exchange that's fun to watch inside the great read between those two guys the defense didn't stand a chance ba these two teammates right here Grant they are [Music] connected well we're into the third quarter just over two and a half minutes played oh and he got fouled on his way up he'll head to the line to shoot two and Mel Bridges still one of the better Wing defenders in the league Grant yeah he's so great at pestering a shooter good lateral movement and wings span makes him hard to get around he might not be the best in the league but he is well above average and the first one at the line is [Applause] good Bridges hits him both it's not luck that he's so steady at the line it's through repetition and hard work pass to Jackson Davis Wiggins against Bridges Wiggins passes to Curry offt Target from three-point range New York leading by three Randall outside blocked they've got numbers Davis with the bucket DAV Jackson Davis has got eight points wow what a setup there green plays with great speed and plays with great pace and that's a nice field play outside dant chenzo down low and it's Bridges with the J and nobody putting out much of an effort to stop him surprising in a close game a lack of energy on defense on one side inspiration on the other [Applause] Devastation and a deep three from Curry heart pulls it in 's got five rebounds in the game and let's send it over to Ali leforce Jaylen brunson's craft sets him apart he said quote I've always played with my instincts and tried to see the game a couple plays ahead as I've gotten older that part of my game has gotten wiser and better I'm still learning Ryan that's a scary thought for the rest of the league he's already plenty dangerous Ally and what a phenomenal replay of that impressive rejection yeah obviously he had the shot well anticipated able to shut it down with [Applause] authority shot clock at five and he's going to the line for two the officials saw contact while he was going up I love how hard part is fighting on plays like that taking the extra contact twoot and taking a quick look here at the hustle stats for the Knicks well their D has been a major story tonight I mean those Steals and and putting pressure on the ball clogging the passing Lanes impressive well something else I've seen from them in this game is just how quick they are to capitalize on a turnover I mean they're pouncing on that stuff you got to be careful when you're handling the ball around them Mitchell Robinson he's checked in for New York [Applause] he's perfect from the line this time so crucial for HART to get to the line establish some confidence he's solid from there but I think it sometimes gets his perimeter game going here's Jackson Davis and so he draws the foul headed to the line to shoot a pair it's going to go on Mitchell Robinson no debate there he he got hammered these are his first free throws of the game line two shots take a break take a break Two [Applause] Shots first one Falls for him [Applause] hits one then misses the second attempt from the line New York leading by four pass to dant chenzo to the inside Bridges and it's Bridges with the jam and so far the defense has not learned much from the lessons muel is teaching them outside green 23 seconds left in the third here's Curry and good got the friendly bounce off the right side of the rim Curry's got 19 points that's the kind of passing you want there work the ball around keep it moving try to get an assist on every [Applause] bucket and here's Brunson here's Robinson Miss and a nice assist from Brunson and the Knicks lead by six soft interior D and they've Wiggins deadly enough from that spot for three Deon chenzo rebounded by Green Green's got rebound number five here tonight the put back the kick out to Wiggins for three and the Warriors with another three their strategy has been pretty simple here in the second half attack from three-point range Maybe trying to find a little bit more space and ball movement to get Guys open at the three-point line pass the [Applause] bridges and here's Hart launches it hits the trifecta Hart just whipping it away quickly not giving the defender time to close out Warriors Trail by five 49 44 outside P jimsky Bridges against Wiggins to the middle lets it Go and off the left side of the rim and swirls in for him this is when your interior D has to be on high alert here's Brunson and we'll have a well I hope there's one player on that team out there that has interest in winning this game right now it doesn't look to be one Bridges passes to Randall and it's Randall with the jam how about Randall Dependable big in a big moment here's curry3 [Applause] 48 the three and the rebound goes to the Knicks randle's got four rebounds now here's Brunson he hits the back iron and sinks it now it's a seven-point Nick lead and Brunson capable here of having these binges scoring the basketball here's Curry and it goes as the official calls the foul count it and he'll shoot one more at the line foul first team foul Stephen [Music] Curry find the length wind the Lan one shot in a close game it's great to have guys you can count on to knock down free throws pass to hard back to Brunson it's bridges on the wing and Jackson Davis comes to help five on the clock here's Randle got a piece of it over three and 1/2 minutes through the final quarter now and stolen by Brunson now TI [Applause] har Brunson against Curry sneak it inside it's Brunson and brunson's got the Mone set to deliver and Curry's got the ball here for the Warriors they Trail by six the three is up cash what a beautiful shot brings him within three and I just love the calm confidence that Steph has in these kind of moments give the ball to him he'll do it to you every time huge moment from JB Brunson knocking it down and Steve Kerr calls timeout great time to call his guys into the Huddle at a very tense moment in this game the [Applause] 50 seconds left in the fourth quarter of this one and a deep three from Curry the three-pointer Off the Mark and he commits the intentional foul Andrew wi second personal foul first team foul 43 seconds left in the fourth quarter a chance here to possibly put the game away they have to remain focused to get it done but three div tenzo rebounded by green and just terrible defense I don't know how he missed that shot up top curry out to heel there's the three and again it's the Warriors missing and so they choose to intentionally foul second personal foul second team foul Jaylen Brunson at the line two shots [Applause] so the first one drops and that increases the lead to [Applause] six and so both free throws good and it's a seven-point game and the lead getting safer and safer as these free throws from the stripe go in time called here the Warriors decide to talk it over there's 21 seconds left in the fourth quarter here guys your thoughts trying to extend this one but it seems feudal yeah this is the classic too little too late the effort coming and not enough time for them to get back in it Wiggins for three and it's in and wi and now they Trail by just four and their strategy is obvious manufacturer looks from outside the AR and I don't know how they keep doing this but every time down the resulting possession ends up at the three-point line and a fairly efficient shot attempt at that [Applause] good on the first and that puts him up five so he goes two for two at the line and it's a six-point ball game there's 18 seconds left in the fourth and right here they can't waste any time well it's probably a little bit too late here but you really need to score a bucket here to stay alive that's the guy you don't want shooting how about heel coming up being yeah just a must foul situation to stop the clock Dante dezo at the line two shot he gets the first and that gives him a four-point cushion and he hits both free throws here and it's a five point game huge moment he steps up and sinks the final daggers pass to Jackson Davis here's Wiggins t chenzo with a steal so New York wins it I'm sure they would have preferred a blowout Victory but a wins a win and so true but you have to credit the crowd for giving
