Dave Bautista [Music] hey man I'm Russ milim from the direct it's great to meet you congratulations on the movie uh you know I just wanted to ask you know what is the most unique part of this movie with your experience with it compared to anything else you've ever done um the most unique part I think was the way we did the action um because we didn't have a lot of time to shoot this film so we shot it in two units and there was always an action unit going on and so a lot of times when I had to kind of fill in the gaps of the of the action it was stepping on it was learning the chore choreography like really fast like on the day like in the be in the moment but JJ was so just so prepared um and knew exactly what I need he needed so I'd step in he'd teach me the action like that we'd knock it out we shoot it and it was done but I've never done a film like that because typically you know bigger films you just the luxury of bigger films is you have more money when you have more money you have more time you have more time you have more days you have more people you have more time to rehearse prepare and we just didn't have that so this was a very you know it's very hectic schedule a very film like or very um crazy process but yeah it was like kind of filling in the gaps as you went it was it was really rough all right good to see you I'm R MIM from Terry Crews the direct I got two quick questions for you well first congratulations on the movie it's exciting to be here thank you out of everything you've ever done right with this movie what was the most unique experience you had here wow I think the most unique thing I would say being a bad guy and living because usually you know when you play a bad guy they kill you yeah yeah it's true it's very unique you made the cut I made the cut you know usually you're like oh yeah I'm a bad guy when are they gonna off me you know what I mean did the movie with k o Reeves man I took like 1,700 bullets it was nuts um but this one you know they left me alive so we could do it again this is what I love I look forward to it last question for your super quick you're in the Guardians right at Disney so my question is where where are you in the MCU man as that character or someone else who do you want to be oh oh man look I know Nova they're trying to do something with the whole Nova Prime crew and the whole deal and listen I'm down for whatever they're willing to do you know my deal is to stay ready you know what I mean I did I'm kind of in there with Deadpool as I did Deadpool 2 and then you see what I mean so I've been around the fringes but when they're ready to call I'm ready to gooss my I see you in that Nova outfit again I I know it looks good thank thank you so out of everything you've ever JJ Perry done right compared to this movie what was the most unique experience that you had with this whether that's onset or offset what would you say stands out the most the first time for me to direct a love story you know like because I come from the action world and sometimes I'm directing action second unit directing for other directors but it's just the action scenes but this was an opportunity to kind of put you know my my my thumbprint on it so you know I paid attention and and really try to keep the tone right and uh you know you guys will be the judge well speaking of you know us the audience right what are you most excited for audiences to see in this movie um I think it's I think it's one of those movies date night movie that has a train wreck with a fun action movie so I think everyone's going to like it tested really strong with with ladies which I was super excited about so you know hopefully everybody's going to go out and see it and take their mom and dad now when we've seen it and we've walked out of the theater what do you want audiences to retain the most from it well what I don't want do is try to get shoot somebody or fcking throw a knife at somebody but um yeah no it's just a fun there's no real I don't have a political message my brother I just want them to enjoy I want them to step out of this trippy time we're in right now and be able to escape for an hour and 45 minutes see that's a perfect answer so well thank you again sir thank you great being here it's really great Steve Richards being here and you know it's was a film that we worked on for a long time so glad that it actually is here and we're super excited about it and I think it's going to be a lot of fun now I want I want to ask with this movie and I'm sure you worked on a lot of things what about this movie was the most unique thing that you've experienced in your career well we really sit out to design it around the love story and you know big action was extremely important to to deliver on but we really thought what would sell it is the Love Story and there's a great twist so um it's those elements I think that make it unique so this it could be the same answer but what are you most excited for fans to see when they see this movie um I think uh Drew McIntyre's uh you know demise it's a it's a good one yeah exactly and uh you know I just think that there's a lot of really fun action moments that uh when when Dave takes on all the different assassins he delivers now I got to ask you an unrelated question on IMD I notic there's you're attached to a Ben 10 project yeah is there anything you could say about where that ex like what's happening with it where are we like where is that at I I have to admit I should update my IMDb No so when I was working with Joel Silver we had the rights to that and U yeah that expired I think yeah but it should get made right you got to go get that back exactly well it was good talking to you man congratulations again congratulations on the movie you know it's done here I'm Marko Zaror excited to see it uh you know for you working on it what what would you say is the most unique experience you had with it whether that's onet or offset well the whole movie was experien because it was a big challenge I put myself into a big challenge when I picked the decisions that I that I made you know like it's like wanting to mix Flamingo and throwing that love story of this character into this fighting style it was a big thing and and I'm I was happy that I was I had the support of JJ to kind of take it all all the way up you know so for me it was like you know that that rehearsing process and seeing how I can mix those steps and that that that passion and that that posing with the the fighting and make it look like okay I buy it you know it's like that was a big challenge so we we rehears with the stun team we did some tests we did some test shooting and and then when we were day man we just dance we have like a nice time what are you most excited for audiences to see is it all those action scen yes yes yes of course uh for you personally how would you say that this working on this project helped you grow as just a you know with with your talents just artist yeah yeah well that it was it was a challenge and it was something that I've never done before so for me it was a big H step understanding wow the you know previous movie you know I was an assassin very straightforward right but then now totally the opposite I'm like a I'm a I'm a lover that I'm dancing but I'm killing people so that is kind of like wow you know it's like it opens your eyes to that you can explore so much with the with the movement you know we there's many ways that you can approach an action character that it could it could be fun you know so that's that's kind of like what I've learned through this process thank you again sir and I look forward to it thank you you know I have to I have to ask you Jay Bonansinga know with this movie with you having written the book right right in that process was there ever a moment where you were like ah maybe maybe not change that like how how much was that back and forth or was it pretty of the opposite okay because I was I sold the book on on a on a proposal because and I I had no idea I could do that but it was because of the hook that's really all I had when Andrew Lazar bought the rights from me 30 years ago you know so ran ravit who's one of the two final credit credited screenwriters he gave me this idea for the third Act of the book and I'm like I'm doing that and I'm gonna steal the credit yeah it was brilliant I mean I you know spoiler alert I can't I really can't tell you what it was but it's but it's brilliant it's in the movie yeah what are you what are you most excited to for fans to see in the movie uh compared to the book like what are you excited to well if they're fans of the book it's going to feel like they just did ask okay that's an interesting uh because it's my book you know times a thousand yeah it's you know my book has this like droll dark comedy you know in it I wrote it in 1994 I mean I was I was when I was born no are you serious yeah to make you like yeah feeling old now but yeah but I was beset with like the Cohen Brothers and Tarantino at the time so you know I wanted to try to write that a literary version of that but then this hook just changed everything because it it gave it some meat yeah you know his his his mother was devout Catholic and his mother learned what he did and made him feel super guilty so it was all building up to this huge you know mistake made by the clinic and how it was God telling him something you know yeah yeah yeah he says that in the book he goes he goes oh he said he says uh when he learns it was a fake or you know was a false diagnosis he's like God thank you I I I you're telling me I was right to kill these scum bags I was right to do it and his guilt his guilt is alleviated but he can't think about that because there's heavy footsteps coming down the you know hallway of his building and they're going to try to kill him you know and they do that beautifully in the film they build up to the 12 you know 12 midnight uh starter pistol well thank you again sir I look forward to seeing it [Music]
