2024 VMA PERFORMANCES - MEGAN THEE STALLION, KATY PERRY, SABRINA CARPENTER, LE SSERAFIM & MORE

what is going on next St friends welcome back to the channel it is the weekend and am so excited I Cann now catch up on everything I missed during the week first I want to check out the MTV VMAs that just happened a day ago I believe I tried to stay away from the spoilers because I really wanted to check out some of the performances by some of the artists that I've already have reacted to on my channel over the years like my interest in award shows has really declined not that there aren't any good performances but I feel like they're rare like they're really rare so um I used to be in I watch show junkey where I would just like have a plan out for which I would chose and how what I would watch the red carpet like I still love that stuff but I feel like that interest has kind of gone down hoping that this one had some really good performances so I'm looking forward to checking that out first before we get started I do want to check out the winning list to see if I mean I agree with that list okay so what what do we have here yeah obviously we know Taylor Swift if she's at an award show just know she's going to win everything okay all right so video of the Year Taylor Swift fortnite artist of the year Taylor Swift okay well I feel like that whoever wins video usually gets the artist of the year anyway song of the Year let me guess Taylor Swift oh oh espresso okay yeah like I actually agree with the with this uh outcome of su of the year cuz espresso was such a fun song Best New Artist Chael room I don't know who that is oh Tyler was luminated too huh push performance what the heck is the push performance oh le le easy best collaboration fortnite best pop Taylor Swift hipop I was like please don't tell me she's going to win she's going to win hip hop too okay Eminem I definitely agree with that R&B snooze yes snooze is my song alternative I don't know who Benson Boon is and I like alternative music maybe I need to check out these artists Rock oh man okay look I love cplay but I I don't think this song was uh deserving of best rock so I actually agree with the Lenny Krab human Anita mes I I don't know Anita I was thinking either Bad Bunny Carl G would like dominate this category but AFR me guess Tyler yep um you know but I don't understand why some of these songs like are coming the songs that are being submitted are songs that came out from like more than a year ago and then some songs that just recently came out cuz water has been out for like ever well last heartbreak song literally came came out like a couple months ago I believe even this TS love me JJ that that's from her new album so I I don't understand the criteria on which they submit this categories honestly K-pop okay um uh video for good this was a tough category but I definitely think Co playay I think Genesis should have won this one direction Taylor Swift and fortnite H okay cinematography Ariana Grande we can be friends huh I don't understand so like why would the person that W cinematography win the editing like isn't it the same I know it's different like jobs and different like categories why would the editing not be great enough for me to qualify for best cinematography right oh anyway I personally think that swifties just voted in every category that their girl was on and there nothing wrong with that this is a fan voted award show so if you all got your girl to win all the awards words like congrats to you guys choreography dualipa Houdini visual effects Eminem Houdini best art Direction I have not seen uh boa so I can't even yeah trending video oh okay so I I would have thought nasty I thought nasty has been trending for quite a while since it came out before this mamushi so I'm guessing the best trending award um kind of has um recency bias because you kind of go with the song that's like been trending lately which would be myushi but hey I love that mamushi song okay so congrats Megan best group okay cop was in here 171 all right congrats song of the summer so out of her entire album fortnite was the song that really people deemed was the best song of the summer vma's most iconic performances I disagree I completely complely disagree with this list completely like I I have major issues we we need to talk whoever made this list like we have problems and no offense I love me some Katy Perry but I don't think she should have been the winning performance the winning memorable performance in this list okay I don't even remember what was so memorable about like Katy Perry's raw even Taylor SES you belong with me I don't remember I really don't remember what was outstanding about that performance now even Beyonce's Love on Top it was okay but I don't see anything like the ones that I really feel like stood out that I remember to this date is the Britney Christina and Madonna plus Miss Elliot collab I mean when they came out on stage wearing the wedding veils and Madonna in the suit like that was iconic um and yeah Lady Gaga prepari like those two are the ones that just stand out like right in my feet when I think about like memorable like B performances from this list cuz wasn't that the same year that Gaga wore the meat dress like and back then social media was not like as big as it is right now but people were talking about like the meat dress leading up to the performance and I remember maybe it was the following year where she like came inside an egg and then performed Born This Way like she she's had like some super iconic performances so I definitely give for that do you guys agree with this list like with all of is and everything yeah would you guys agree with all the winners on this list let me know okay well enough rambling let's get into the performances and I'm going to start off with Megan the stallion who was the host of the show I made it through the Wilderness now I made it through Megan the stallion with boa his b and mamushi let's go I think I the wardrobe malfunction cuz she put her hand in the middle of I was like uh what is going on second what is going on a minute holy yeah it's actually tape I was thinking was just like cloth that they like wrapped around okay that was really good I really wish Yuki cha hope that just name I wish he s a sng life cuz he was like you know yes Megan she herself was lip singing but you could hear her voice like on top of the track Yuki like he just lip sync the entire thing so I I would have loved to see hear him sing life I personally feel like like as the host of the show the performance could have been a bit more dramatic but I think it was fun I enjoyed it so let's go to next one okay so next up is Katy Perry and it looks like she's performing a medley of her songs cuz I think she got the Vanguard award this year from what I saw online I loved it this was so good for the past couple years whoever is receiving the Vanguard award they really come out with your pop bangers and just wow the stage because I remember last year loving Shakira's performance I was like this is incredible this is Iconic this is everything and Kitty fairy she came through and gave us everything I'm probably going to watch this again offline because this was so fun okay so up next I'm checking out Sabrina Carpenters please please please don't prove I'm right um and espresso and taste taste this is what I I haven't heard that before so this would be a spoiler for me that was really good okay I don't know maybe my expectations were like very low cuz I mean I try to stay away from the spoilers but I I did see a couple of like articles saying like the VMA performances were not that great this year so I was like oh God I'm going to be bored to that but I am having a blast I don't know maybe I'm just easy to please but um it is for my enjoyment so uh this is my feedback for what I've heard and seen so far okay so next up is L aim this is the song that we've checked out on this channel uh first heard it uh during their Coachella performance and I really liked it so looks like they performed 1800 hun and fun and so they performed on that same stage huh starting from 100 oh the were these like two different performances because they've CH good stuff but overall they did great you know so it was a fun performance but I don't know I just feel like maybe the stage when you come from watching a lot of kop performances and the video the cinematography of K-pop performances and videography of K-pop performances you're like there's a lot left to be desired I just feel like the videographers for this out what shows like yeah no I think it could be better in terms of the angle because if you watch this and then you watch one of like The Comeback stages and stuff it is a huge difference a major difference so anyway I feel like I'm preaching to the choir if you're in kop you can definitely attest to this right right okay so one more performance I wanted to check out from the VMAs was Carol G I guess I first learned about Carol G through Shakira and I've seen a couple of her performances so I was curious to see like what her performance was like at the uh VM the grandpy and Grand mommy dance again that was so adorable that was super adorable that was so fun I don't know did she win any awards tonight oh no I think whatever she was nominated for she did not win I can't remember now all the list but um I I enjoyed her performance okay so overall final thoughts from what I've checked out uh I really enjoyed this playlist of uh performances I think the artist did pretty great right off the bat I I would I'm giving this to Katy Perry cuz it was just incredible and of course maybe there is a bias there because she did a medle of her songs and and these were all of her bangers that like everyone knows and listen to and the in fact the overall performance was just so captivating and I was like oh my God oh my God what's happening she's like twirling she's she's on the Rope she's in the sky she's like there was a lot happening like is this the Matrix like it's kept my attention Okay so I love that performance again I not checked out every single performance if there's an artist in here that you really think I should watch let me know in the comments below link the video down again I just picked the list of songs that I really wanted to check out uh and that's that's
