you for the time [Music] [Music] one a [Music] [Music] welcome in to a Tuesday Morning Edition of the Jordi colat show live here from our click here digital Studios on this Tuesday Morning appreciate everybody being back here with us good to be back in Baton Rouge after a good trip home with Mr funs travel yesterday as we got back from Vegas yesterday sound a little Nas buddy 6:00 uh yesterday about 6 but no no about 7 uh yesterday we sat on the runway for about about an hour and a half not bad considering flying these days Vegas mhm Labor Day a lot of people to exactly where you're going trying to get out yeah of where we're we're getting out of uh there was a little bit of a traffic uh traffic jam on the runway but other than that everything was fantastic outside of the game um but the typical Mr funs travel I want to start it off by giving a shout out to our guy Jason ramazon his entire crew BJ and the and the staff for just easy I mean I I like to travel easy all right like no lines I like carry on just get on your plane get to the spot make the make make the vacation happen and that's what Mr funs travel does takes the headache out of all of it and makes it easy uh yesterday the Leaving Vegas was uh probably as as easy as it could have been on a Labor Day weekend on a Labor Day uh as as LSU and a lot of the LSU faithful were cutting out of Vegas and it was a a fantastic trip uh with Mr fun and would highly encourage Matt McMahon the LSU basketball coach was actually on the flight home with us yesterday he and his daughter were watching the game and uh ramazon announced that he'll have a couple of trips planned for the basketball season and I encourage anybody who wants to go watch the Tigers play uh and is if you're like me and just very much into easy travel where you get there you get to the hotel you get the tickets you get to the game you get back from the game you get to the hotel you get to the airport you get back to Baton Rouge I mean it's uh not a lot of agendas in between where you can kind of go do your own thing go experience the town and uh really take it all in and what I will say is that Vegas was flooded with purple and gold I mean LSU was definitely the early arriving crowd to Las Vegas as um I I would say that the the the fans were split at kickoff at around 6040 6535 with USC really dumping into Las Vegas the day of the game the day before the game on Saturday uh a Los you know a lot of people from Los Angeles making the the pretty easy trip over through the Mojave Desert um I think it's like a three and a half hour drive we actually uh drove out through the desert a little bit to check out um Canyon Rock and Hoover Dam Area and you can see I mean it's just a highway in the middle of a of the desert man I mean it is uh it's wide open and straight from LA to Vegas but nothing but air an opportunity nothing I mean like where's the Joshua exactly um but as the game kicked off like we said it was a it was a pretty even split to to the crowd and uh went back and watched it last night on TV and I think anybody who has been to games who goes back and watch the game on TV it's a totally different perspective in being in the arena compared to being in your living room listening and watching replay and having the opportunity to kind of stop slow things down back up see who was in see who was who was playing seeing some of the rotations seeing some of the play calls uh and we will react to all of that coming up here on the Jordy colada show and as we said we appreciate you being here here daily we are built by R&B Builders Rett bwan the crew at r&b. comom is where you can find them they're on social media where they have uh a lot of the uh a lot of their their work if you want to check compliments of our Guy Gordon mckernin um anxious to hear what Brian Kelly has to say today I really am not too many times do I look forward to these Monday which regularly Monday on this Labor Day week this Tuesday press conference where Brian Kelly will catch up with the media give a recap of what he saw from the film and you know have that 48 hour decompression of emotion where you kind of get out and you you say what you think because you know Brian Kelly is he's being talked about from coast to coast right now from college football fans I mean I cannot open my timeline can't open a feed on social media without seeing Brian Kelly's reaction or somebody reacting to Brian Kelly's reaction in the in the loss to USC you know the slamming the hand down on the on the desk the the the tired of talking about the same things for three years in a row the the the high amount of of emotion that he showed throughout that throughout that press conference I mean there is it has not died down much since Sunday night you know watching it was almost like LSU wished there were more games yesterday rather than having to wait for Boston College and Florida State to play because everybody throughout the day all media all social media was was just roasting to be honest Brian Kelly and I think a lot of the the sentiment of what at least I read and the reaction that I saw kind of felt the same way that that I was hearing from people in Vegas you know that that I felt felt very contrived it felt not real felt fake right to the point of a little cringey in the sense of like hey man I think there's been no secret of what the issues H have been on on LSU and a lot of the problems that were there tonight felt controlled like felt like they were controllable you know I mean when you go back and you look at some of the things that that LSU cost themselves in in not being able to win that game and I don't think there's a lot more places that you can point you know other than than yourself I mean really I mean when you kind of go back and watch the opportunity that LSU had in that game numerous times numerous times they get the ball back in the fourth quarter with the lead and the chance to put that game away I mean it is exactly what people anticipated when discussing this game I know we talked about it here where I believed it was going to go into the fourth quarter pretty evenly matched and LSU was going to have a chance to win the game I mean I I I just you looked at those two teams I mean it was 1010 at halftime it was 20 to 20 with two minutes left I mean that's as e that's about as evenly matched of a of of teams as you can find you've got Blake Baker they've got deant and Lynn both young defensive coordinators very impressive I mean Lynn I thought for as impressed as I was in Blake Baker's initial debut as the defensive coordinator and scheming and getting his guys in position and knowing some of the things that he had to battle to make sure that he was executing learning some of the things that USC was was dealing with going into the game and seeing the performance that they had I mean that that was two of the youngest sharpest defensive coordinators in in the sport those guys have aght bright future but what LSU left on the on the field with whether it was points whether it was missed opportunity and I mean they had their hands on two turnovers I mean like I know that the ball bounces in the in the way that it it balances his is you know that's sports that's just how it works but I mean LSU I mean they were inhaling the football twice just couldn't get your I mean like just couldn't couldn't grabing like the wit weeks I mean I mean it's just I know that that was a fourth down I know that that's but I mean give me the give me the 15 extra yards there of starting the drive I was concerned that they were going to call that back and say that that was a a catch and fumble and give USC the ball back that's how it seemed like it was going but that's what the guy was telling me behind like that's what they're reviewing he was coming right at us when he and it never looked like he had possession I mean it looked like he went straight through his hands I mean maybe you know that's what I'm saying but the way that that game had been going and the way the officiating was like on the 50-50 calls it seemed to be leaning one way and it was like I could see them overlooking this and being like well that could be possession but obviously it didn't is that the same play that major Burns got the 15 yard penalty yes and that's another re 36 and then you go to the 21 that was I mean that was a fourth down stop it was a momentum get the ball you you're able to you know set yourself up in really good field position and major Burns is flagged for taking his helmet off on the field both 15 yards penalties cost you I mean both kyen Lacy and major Burns's penalties cost you point real opportunities to to to be able to extend the lead I mean another controllable thing that you look back back at that game and you say man LSU had some real chances you know just left some chances on on the field and you know I think that's why Brian Kelly when you when you kind of watch the game and then you watch the press conference you're like man I mean your team should have won you know and I don't mean to say that on this side you know when when they didn't win the game but you look at a lot of the the the the the things that went on passing on points again I don't understand that at all like I I get it maybe a couple years ago in your first game as the head coach where you've got an opportunity early on to to you know make your presence create some energy announce I'm here but then as a football coach don't you have to recognize like all right we tempted fate a little bit there you always take the points I've never met a football coach I've never met a football guy I've never met somebody around football that tells you let's gamble with the points you know what I mean like if we're going for it on fourth down inside of our own five early in the game we've got something like a Philly special that we know we've been working on and they've never seen or we have the utmost confidence that we can just line up behind our offensive line that we've build up all off season as the unit and just punch it in neither of those were in that Circ I mean they come out blown they come out of a timeout don't pick up the Blitz and throw the ball out of bounds they don't even give themselves a chance to execute the play and for three straight years have now squandered points in the opening drive of the game where just as the football coach you got to say like Hey we're not getting bured again right like we're not going to touch the stove again you know how hot it is I mean it you leave points on the floor three years ago against Flor two years ago against Florida State you get beat by a Miss field goal last year you leave points on the field at the end of the game and I don't know how much it matters but it it probably would have changed the pace of the game a little bit and this year you get beat on a last second touchdown with with opportunities to to to change the the the scoreboard I just from and watching it on television last night as soon as he was presented with that fourth and goal he's on the they shoot right at him he's on the headset he's saying go go go he's not even thinking about it then out of a timeout like I said I mean they're warming up Ramos they're warming up Slade Roy like looks like they're they're possibly going to get those guy he doesn't even make eye contact with him like he doesn't even give him the we're not doing it he sends the when the offense is coming out of the timeout I thought the timeout was to talk it over like what do we do here are we sure we want to go for it or should we take these points to start the season start the game give ourselves a little bit of a cushion and and and then on Down the Line some of the things you know that I know we've talked about the coaching we've talked about the play calling we've talked about those things yesterday but when you go back and watch the game I mean LSU had some some real opportunity I I thought to you know I mean USC was set up I mean they were set up on on some some chances to throw the ball underneath some of the the screen routes I mean USC was Blazing up the field I mean they were sprinting up the field leaving some of these a lot like LS like like USC did to LSU on those back I mean those backside those two backside screens that Lincoln rley threw on LSU's defense those were those were two killers but you you give a play caller like Lincoln Riley opportunity after OPP the opportunity to go after major Burns to go after uh to to to go after Sage Ryan to go after what he finds is the weak and now you have that on film in the first game I mean by the time you get to October 12th and Lane kein by the time you get to some of these play callers that you knew going into the season you were already intimidated by I mean LSU has a lot of work on that side of the ball and I don't know how I don't know how you necessarily fix it with I mean it's not like they can change the the people in between now and then well that's a lot of the conversation in the chat right now is if you start playing I mean it's the same bit of conversation you had last year it's like play some of the younger talented people but that also presents another issue where you get people that may be more talented but if you don't understand the scheme then you're still going to make mistakes like that's why major Burns is out there that's why s Ryan is out there they at least know the responsibility the call it lack of talent or where if that's what you want to say but they're out there because they know the responsibilities yeah no and I you're you're asking to put in two more you're asking to put in two true freshmen well and I thought PJ Woodland handled it yeah and spots that's what I'm saying like you you saw flashes but there's you have to at some point I trust Blake Baker what he sees on the defense and what they what they want to do defensively because that wasn't the issue and I think that's a great you know that that that's a great um indicator you know that game was a great example of just the limitations that they do have I mean you're just those those are your options and that's why the the year three comments start are going to be a stain on what this maybe season could or Brian Kelly's resume because if he hadn't said that I think a lot of people would be looking and said look you got Cory Raymond back Blake Baker like the way that you recruiting right now it's it may not be year three but the calav is coming like you're about to have players on the defensive side of the ball and then the offense I feel like it will get it it wasn't bad it just was got vanilla and like I said yesterday it was a coach in a spot that has never really been there before there's a lot of people that have never been in that spot before and the one guy that has is Brian Kelly and he didn't handle it well either like he it it starts from the top down obviously and the first decision you make is the wrong one you win the toss and you receive the ball and it's like how have you not learned you did this against Florida State you give it did the exact same thing you drive down the field go for it on Fourth and goal don't get it and it's like maybe that should be in The Recess of your brain that like all right we lost that game maybe we should take the points here and just because that would have been a net win you drove down the field it looked great and if you get three that's fine like obviously you want to a touchdown but it's a much it doesn't leave so much to the imagination of oh that was all for not now you kind of don't trust what you're doing offensively maybe I just don't under like I I'm not going to blame anybody for having a like we're going for going forth down I feel like we should like but if that is your decision you better have something that you know works and both years they didn't both plays were from Florida State to what you saw against USC that's just a oh go for it it's not a hey we got one like that just doesn't make sense to me it's a Bravado it's an ego thing where it's just buddy put it back in your pants like you don't have to impress anybody here you already have the job and you're secure take the [ __ ] points and let's move on yeah that's just but the the the receiving of the football is indefensible and he's done it multiple times and it's cost it multiple times yeah I mean it's just kind of the same mistakes and I and and I hope really and truly that's what he was hitting his hand down on the desk about like blaming him he should have blamed himself instead he was like just casting aspersions at everyone else right like it was like man like you need you need to be aiming this towards accountability yourself I mean like if you haven't learned in these experiences up to this point like you need to take the points you need to defend if you're going to win the toss and I mean the the way that they called the game in the second half like going back and watching it it it was it was almost like they they didn't understand what type of game they were in it was like they were playing with the lead it was like they were trying to play and like protect something rather than like hey hey hey hey like go win like go win the game like go make plays and win it was just it it was it was difficult to understand kind of what they were what the point of of the like what are you doing like go win the game I mean Now's the Time to win the game take that next step and put these people away I mean they had multiple opportunities in the four those fourth quarter drives where they went three and out and didn't chew up any clock like that is a that's a that is a football sin I mean like that is a like what are you doing I mean rushing up to the line of scrimmage running like plays where it's like you're obviously out of kind of out of whack you don't know just going back and watching and I tell you there's a shot of Joe Sloan that the cameras catch late in the game where I know the elements of football I I know that coaches are are very high intensity very much on edge very much barking into the into the headset but there's a shot of Sloan on that last offensive Drive where he is he's like trying to jump through the glass I mean he is and I'm not trying to you know paint it but he kind of it looks like he's kind of freaking out I mean and it was almost like in that moment I when I saw it I was like man this this is tight this is tight for everybody you know I mean like is this this thing is Brian Kelly looks tight Joe Sloan looks tight the the players look tight you know I mean it's like somebody throw a needle in that room and and pop the air out of this thing and loosen them up so they can it was like in between the 20s they were they were killing USC I mean they were moving at will and then they would get into some of these funks where the the the play calling would leave them the the intent of what what are you you got to play to win the game like what you're not up you're not up two touchdowns you know what I mean like choke these people out win the game and I think that is without question that filters from the top I mean like that's a mentality that's that's where that originates I mean that's an everyday thing like we and I I don't know I mean I I question I question you know like LSU's Killer Instinct almost in watching that game back and that's what BK said he's like we l Killer Instinct okay okay well that man like you got understand watched it too yeah yeah like well you're the one that really is is the the guy that dictates whether you have the Killer Instinct or not and I'm not trying to play into to things but I mean you think about the off season there's a lot of golf jokes there's a lot of my day job jokes and and and I'm here for the for the levity I'm here for the ha haa and yeah yeah yeah we get it but then you watch the team play and you're like I mean looks like a lot of people been playing golf all summer you know what I mean like it's like it's a football team yeah I mean like you got a you got an opponent on the Rope USC was on the ropes in the fourth quarter like in a town that has hosted a ton of BigTime fights I mean they were wobbling in the fourth going into the fourth quarter standing count I mean like here you go they are standing with their chin wide open at you and telling you if you connect I'm dead I'm done and LSU kept dancing around the ring like they kept tiptoeing around the ring like step up on him and knock him out I mean it was don't let don't let this go to decision I don't know man I mean how many times do you have to call somebody JK Belton you know I mean how can how many times do do you not know that the name of tradez green you know two weeks into Camp isn't he number 14 what do you mean is he number four he's the best rookie you got on offense you know like I I'm again you go back and you watch that team play and you're saying like hey man if you're a foot if y are a football coach this is you can't really ask for more than this you know like put these guys away I I don't know man I mean it was it it was it was very it was very predictable it it became very predictable it it was it was disappointing it it just going back and watching that game was more discouraging than I thought it was going to be I mean it was discouraging in the sense of I mean LSU beat the hell out of that team I mean really I mean outside of a couple of Miracle catches by USC and they deserve look the guy deserves the the the ACC I don't know if he caught the first one did you see it on the TV copy did it change your mind at all I mean I didn't see enough where I could say he didn't catch it but I mean like I mean he didn't look at it for very long I mean he he touches it right here Burns knocks it right here he grabs it right here I think just because of the physics of of it he didn't catch it as he's going down to the ground he's I mean it it's he's trapping it with the ground he's hit with the ground I mean it's look the officiating was bad not a single holding call on USC and I saw like seon Jones was getting mugged on some he's getting he's getting yeah and still making plays just yeah and he does he still makes the play on the on the the obvious hold and the the the the false I'm still somebody helped me out here clarify me on the rule here is there now a rule because even the official on the broadcast with herb Street and Reese Davis is you know herb Street's like so wait now the rule is is if the Defenders move cuz you go back and you watch LSU shifts their alignment and that the first fall start penalty where USC obviously shifts out of their stance and moves is a is called on LSU because they're simulating the snap is what ultimately they're saying and then it happens again in the game and USC gets the false start penalty on the second one and so they bring the referee back on and the guy's like well yeah I mean I I guess it's a judgment call it's like you're going to give these officials the opportunity to make judgment calls on this stuff where here you go in the first quarter it was a it was a defense of off sides in the in the second half it's a false start I mean like your guys don't even know what to call it just I mean I I look both ways that game was officiated back LSU did not lose that game because of the officials at all LSU had multiple opportunities to put that team away and didn't do it and then had the coach call out the Killer Instinct by slamming a desk in the in the postgame press conference that you know a lot of people that don't even cover the program are looking at it being like that doesn't look real I don't even cover the guy but that looks fake and then you listen to the words and you're like well you're the one that you you control that you know I mean it's it it's your team you know I mean the stuff he's talking about like we're sitting here talking three years in a row about not making the same mistakes and not being able to close the game it's like well what y'all been talking about I mean like you're literally the only person that's been here for three years what what you been watching you made the same mistake you did two years ago you made the same mistake you did last year I mean three straight years he's lost with a better team I know that they got a lot of you know a lot of uh an upgrade of players coming at at certain positions but in the grand scheme of it the players hadn't really been the problem yeah they need some they need some talent and in some some spots but you can win with LSU's roster you can definitely beat that USC team I don't know that was discouraging to go back and watch I mean LSU had multiple opportunities to win the game they didn't and then you know I mean you get told in the in the post game by you know slamming the desk that you got to learn how to close and not make the same mistakes and you're like we're acting like it's over yeah yeah who's he talking to I agree I me I agree but that's I mean I'll continue to say it like it's not it's not an excuse because you played the schedule that you have but it was wrong team wrong time like for all of the pieces that LSU had to replace going up against an opponent that also had like you said we said it leading into the game like it's like you're playing yourself in a sense but that playing a team like that with somebody that has Elite play calling ability and you don't have the experience in closing teams out that's what can happen and it just felt like the the moment got a little big for everybody that had never been in that situation before if you play hell give me Florida State this year what happened I mean you look around it could be worse yeah to say if you're if you're the State of Florida except everybody outside of Miami if you're Florida if you're Florida State if like buddy it could have been worse like LS was not in the the worst position of all of these teams that a lot of people took a loss like Texas A&M has to look in the mirror you got bullied by Notre Dame and so that's why as bad as that loss may feel the season is still wide open and you have a bunch of games that you're going to be able to figure this thing out and then you'll Square it up with old Miss like it's unfortunate that the I guess the tener around the program isn't as high as it should be because you've been kind of billing this thing up for how many times are you going to drop week one and then put yourself back behind the eightball you did it again but it's not a spot that LSU hasn't been in before so now here comes the you have this experience I I would be interested to see if he wins the toss and what he does for like if he learns from any of the quote unquote mistakes he made because you've got to kind of self-evaluate in a sense you better I mean really and truly you you you better I mean look it's one thing to go out into the media in front of the media and onade and put on the the the theatrics and you know slam the desk and and do the deal but it's one thing in in the in in the in the quiets of your office behind closed doors and watching the film and realizing like I'm the one that can control it you know what I mean like that's my team that's that's the team that I'm overseeing that's the team that I had the decisions to make what's going on and a a lot of it you know I believe wholeheartedly that teams take on the personal ities of their leaders 100% it's just it's the environment it's the culture it's what you're around every day it's what you hear it's what's on the walls it's what's in the locker room it's how we're conducting ourselves what do we wear to the games what do we not wear to the games it's what what whatever it is I I mean whatever your culture is whatever your your your your your message of the team is every day and like I said I mean I know that a lot of the storylines on on on LSU's offseason were you know a lot of golf my day job lot lot of lot of 3 o'clock see you guys tomorrow you know everybody all good and then to to to beat the desk and say we don't have the Killer Instinct we can't close it's like well yeah I like what do you think you know I mean how do you think that's going to work out you know I mean I just it's it's one thing to to treat a team that you can trust like that like the 2019 team at LSU ran itself right I mean oiron tells the story about middle of the summer when it was actually Sharon Lewis who was in the big lawsuit with LSU but she was the one that was up at the office and called oiron and said do you know where your team is and he's like h she's like I'm looking out the window right now and you've got full participation of volunteer workouts in Midsummer 100% participation and at that moment he kind of told himself you know like we're going to we're going to be special we're going to be a special team I mean that I I know that's the outlier that's the that's the big example that's the the grand plan of how you want it but that that does come down from the top like that's like Joe burrow said in his Heisman Trophy speech I mean Ed Ojon was the guy that allowed me to be Joe burrow credit Ojon he saw that burrow was the guy I can really give the keys to this thing and let him be the the guy who runs it for me internally but this is the message Joe when you're running it we're going to be four quarter Killers we're going to be game closers we're going to win we're going to compete to win we want winners we want people that are are hungry to compete and are only worried about winning a killer instinct which is what that team had at its best but that was preached from the top and I wonder what the message is from the top because I go and watch LSU play and then I I see the and hear the the comments from the coaching the head coach and I would say outside looking in that team lacks a Killer Instinct that team lacks the ability to close a team out just by the way that they play the the way that they call plays the way that they play with the chance to win the game I mean a killer you you you have a a three-point lead in that game there were multiple opportunities to close that team and close that game out and just like let it just kind of like evaporate just kind of like let it slip away you don't get those opportunities much I mean when you got to when you get them you you you have to you got to close it unless you just I don't know it's one week it's one game there's a long season left in front of them they're a good team Brian Kelly's a good coach they can figure it out but after a long offseason and a big buildup to a a marquee game that's their performance little you know little discouraging going into the season but nothing that they can't get back I'm anxious to see and hear the comments today by Kelly when he meets with the Press I think a couple of things that you know you you hope to hear I I hope he addresses his comments about Garrett nus after the game because going back and watching that game for a second time and you know watching it in real time in the stadium and then going back last night when we landed and watching the TV copy of it nus me couldn't have played any better he missed one throw of the night and it was the biggest throw of the game and you know lot like what I was telling little Jay on the way back from from the stadium as we were walking to the hotel Drew Brees missed Michael Thomas on a slant the play before the Nola no call in the NFC championship game that you and I went to bro you know I mean like it it it happens you play football long enough those guys have connected on that pass Breeze and Thomas thousands of times the one that they miss is going to be the one that you remember right Garrett NM played an incredible game for his first start to his Junior season really good and by no means do I think that Miller Moss outplayed him at all but when you look at the film The fact of the matter is he missed the biggest throw of the game I mean that's just the facts he played he played fantastic but you should have never been in that spot it was we can we the play call I I agree I mean but the play calling was what it was I mean you have to evaluate the play calling and you have to recognize that that game was not called as if you were trying to win it I was that's they took the game out of nus me's hands it felt like and there's two schools of thought here where your LSU all you've talked about is your offensive line and we're going to run the football and so which one was it was it you weren't aggressive enough on offense or did you want to run the football and win the game well I think you you worked yourself to to to run the ball and win the game but they tried to but they they got there too fast I agreed they they didn't they didn't test those guys they didn't I mean Kyon Lacy getting one target it's insane that's that's wild I mean that's that guy was unguardable in the first half you know I mean really and truly and there were some things that they were doing early on kyen Lacy's First Catch of the game I don't think is a called play to him I really don't I may be wrong and we can ask Kelly about it today but I I think that nus Meer saw the cushion that that Lacy was getting and gave him some type of non-verbal signal and just snapped it and threw it out to him and Lacy got a first down and I'm telling you being that that Arena I I said in the moment I hope that they just did that I I I hope that wasn't a play called I hope that they just recognized that there was too much cushion and they just zipped it out there because they could have done that I'm serious they could have done that all night long like USC was scared to death of LSU on the outside especially on the way that La Lacy started the game I mean like I mean he was he was killing them and they just kind of never I mean treyes green was in there twice and they were 15 yards off the ball on green I mean I was just screaming flip just flip it out to him throw it to him you know I mean I look we it's just you go back and watch it I mean I don't know what they're doing at running back I mean John Emery is clearly the guy that you need to to ride you need to get to Caleb Jackson yeah six carries isn't but that's that's what makes me wonder like you do have to give some thought that you would imagine that this coaching staff knows the team better than we do from the outside look just having to watch them play one time right and Caleb Jackson getting six carries is probably because hey buddy I don't know if you know every assignment that you need to know I mean that's got to be some of the things like Josh Williams is a fine player but I don't know if John Emery like that's not what you were thinking going into the year was I mean I was screaming from the mountain tops because I just love Emory but I thought I didn't think he was going to be your leading carrier and leading rusher I mean because that's not 100% John Emery either yeah like I don't know how often you can rely on go to that well because he still doesn't look 100% And you would hope that he would get stronger throughout the year but if you got to he's going to be your below he never gets that opportunity I think just for some of the other it felt like USC was very much ready for when Caleb Jackson came in when Williams came in it felt like LSU was very vanilla and had all right when this is when package is in this is what we're doing when that John Emy was kind of like the the the wrench in the system where I don't know what they're going to do with him and it just turned out to work a little bit more but everything else around that it seemed so scripted mhm especially late in the game whenever you had opportunities and you didn't throw I mean they throw it down the field once it never took a shot no they didn't I mean and studies in the chat say they were in cover four which I I mean yeah I saw it too but you still at some point have to set yourself up to be able to would you run the ball like you were with that's when you could take a shot well the middle of the field was wide open I mean like and you saw that with Mason Taylor like it was easy to get him the ball and then you stopped going to him too and then like you got these big tight ends that were in there I mean pimpon c one across the middle treyz green was in there a couple of snaps that I saw but I mean look I'm not the football guy I'm not going to sit here and break down coverage for you but I did recognize sitting in the seats that we were I mean you could the film was like watching the all 22 coaches copy they were in like two High safeties like they it was like cover two I mean Stewie saying it's cover four I mean maybe but I mean they definitely had two safeties split in the hashes you know on the hash marks yeah they're dropping the other and the middle of the field was just I mean on the snap of the ball both of those guys are sprinting out and leaving the middle of the field open you were saying just like one time throw a post route you know like one time tell Aaron Anderson or tell one of these you know fast footed wide receivers to Sprint to the middle of the field and just let nus Dart one over the top because I mean nus was throwing dimes he was throwing some dots I mean that ball that Mason Taylor has hit him in the face that's tipped I mean it was tipped and it changed the trajectory of the ball and that is tough to you know kind of put your hands on in the moment but I mean the kirn Lacy touchdown he literally puts that ball on Kiron Lacy's head I mean Lacy traps it to his helmet when he catches it he also puts a Crosser on Mason Taylor where he kind of rolls to the left and comes back and puts it over a 6 foot six linebacker who jumps off the ground I mean the ball you know like goes right over his fingers and hits Taylor nus me I mean you can win championships with Garrett nus at quarterback make no mistake about it I mean that guy can he can lead you he can he can make the throws he's accurate he sees it he knows how to read it I mean going back and looking at that Aaron Anderson Long play that was probably the longest play of the night where you know third down he's rolling left he's looking at Mason Taylor the entire time the coverage comes up on Taylor and Aaron Anderson's kind of running on the back of the route kind of he's kind of like jogging by he's so open he's kind of like I don't want to run out of bounds you know like throw it to me and nus Meer I mean beautifully just kind of flips his hips and just puts I mean like I mean Anderson kind of like puts it on him Sprints up the side I thought he was for about two seconds I thought he was going to score but I mean nus he's so in control like I said I mean the fact that he missed the Aaron Anderson second and short throw on the goal line is just it sucks you know I mean like it it's just it it it sucks that had to be the one that he missed because he played so well I mean he really did I mean that's what that's what keep going back to the Chris Hilton conversation where it feels like it changed a little bit of what they wanted to do offensively when you have it felt like packages for Aaron Anderson it felt like zavon Thomas you had some plays for him to be able to get going just because they're so Elite athletically he's the one that I would believe would be the Deep threat like he's the one without Hilton I would think that zavon Thomas I mean they gave zavon Thomas the handoff yeah you know I mean like he was really a step away on that opening kickoff oh if he he got caught up in the turf if he doesn't like did he get tripped or did he did he trip I think tripped on the turf I thought somebody Sho stringed him maybe I think he was about to score I think he shoot thought which would have been an alltime for for LSU like special teams are fixed I'm telling you like if he doesn't if he doesn't trip there the the field he's wide he's running by himself I me he's in the open I was at Modesto picking up like the the teasers for the for the party and just the opening kickoff and I I literally out loud go oh my God and they're like what and I like he almost scored he and like me one other LSU fan go oh I'm sorry I keep saying this but I mean it really I I loved our seats I mean I when I sat down I was I was like this is this is going to be a great game cuz we're going to be able to see everything we were on the we were in section 327 if you pull up a legion or if you're you you've ever been a legion 327 we kind of like on the turn of the the the Northwest end zone Zone which was like the The End Zone that was painted red like the the the USC side uh the USC End Zone and we were behind the play with just clear eyesight man I mean like everything so you could see everything the way it was blocked the routes I mean the field was wide open and on that opening kickoff same thing I mean you were like oh my God like if he hits that he is gone um but I would think that he would have been the one that would have got the the Deep touches the Deep ball you know opportunities with Chris Hilt now it was a little shocking to see CJ Daniels kind of not be in the game plan either like it was very much a lot of Karen Lacy Mason Taylor which you would have expected like those are the two things that two players that nus has played with before so that's obviously comfortable but it just felt very scripted like I'll keep saying it because I think there were some opportunities if you couldn't get the Run game going like you wanted to in the fourth quarter or even late in the third when you had opportunities to kind of this is what you want to do and salt the game away you have to show that nus can can pull it and give some just give USC's defense something to think about one time that the end can't crash down because they came in there with a game plan to stop the run that's what they want to do that's the an's calling card and by and large they still gave up over 100 yards rushing but it felt like it was very much earned and I think there were some opportunities for LSU whether it's getting it to zavon Thomas like they did in motion or Aaron Anderson where it's an extension of the Run game things that are you could have been a little bit more creative and created some some first downs and yards that you just instead you kind of [ __ ] down your leg Yeah got nervous uh remember daily we're brought to you by our friends over at go roof online at Gea roof.com get in touch with G roof then we will uh we will bring back our phone lines um at some point this week and then we will make it a weekly segment here uh as we will open up phone lines and let people give their reaction uh to what they saw throughout the weekend and maybe what they heard as well uh but those are my thoughts you know I mean I don't have a lot more than that I I do think LSU is going to bounce back the one thing that LSU is I don't know if this is a good or a bad thing um but really they can't really accomplish much at least publicly until October 12th you know I mean over the next couple of weeks you better beat Nicholls traveling to South Carolina that's probably over the next month that's the test where everybody's is going to be the most Keen watching of of how they play but on paper they're a better team and they should be favored to win the game and then you come home that's that's Saturday September 14th and then you come home Saturday September 21st and you host UCLA who I mean look they've been raided new coach new roster they're traveling and kind of limping into Baton Rouge coming in you should win that game then you got South Alabama on September 28th South Alabama again you're a better football team there's not a lot of things that can happen where you're going to say wow look at what LSU did to South Alabama the only thing that would be a story in pretty much every one of these games is that LSU faltered LSU didn't look good LSU got beat so those are really kind of anything that that could happen to you over the next couple of weeks you just got to take care of your business I mean you just got to go out there you got to execute you got to work on the things that you need to improve on if there's people that you want to play develop get into a depth rotation type sense this is the time to get that done because come October 12th Old Miss pulls in and I know Old Miss over the weekend who they they they play Chattanooga I believe a very small like 's going to come in undefeated you would imagine 100% but that's that's what's going that's what I guess you kind of hate it for they got Middle Tennessee next and Ferman they just beat 76 to nothing Middle Tennessee that have been great to play Ferman Middle Tennessee Wake Forest Georgia Southern Kentucky South Carolina LSU Kentucky will be like they they'll be tested like they'll be have games that you have to you know show up for but what's going to happen it feels like especially just in LSU's case that this is how it seems to go LSU will go and will host Old Miss with the one loss being USC Old Miss will come in undefeated and then the national Spotlight will be back on you again and you'll either prove to be the team that you thought you were or you'll be once more labeled as by the national media frauds if you drop every big game you play yeah you become a pretender sure and that's not what LSU is known to be well and like I said I mean over the next couple of weeks just keep it steady take care of business develop who you need to get on the field and you know it's going to it's going to ratchet up come October 12th with Old Miss coming in town because look Lane K Lane kev's the best play caller in college football and by that time there's going to be a ton of film out on LSU and you know it it's it's it's going to be an LSU team that has to be executing and has to be um confident in themselves of what they can do to take on an opponent you know uh take on somebody like Old Miss because I know Old Miss played Ferman this weekend but they did what they were supposed to do and they they they ran them out um and I don't know for whatever reason LS is so captivated by these these opening weekend Marquee games where look if you just flip it if you play Nicholls week one and play USC week two I think it's it's more of a palatable game because at least you got a little bit of an idea of who you are and who needs to play rather than trying to figure that stuff out when you're rotating PJ Woodland and Sage Ryan in in the middle of the third quarter against Southern California yeah I think you can look at it one of two ways like obviously the loss becomes catastrophe Syndrome again because just the narrative that's painted around LSU in these week one games these openers where it's I mean the whole world was watching and you lose like that it becomes oh that's what LSU does but also I think it was a good enough game to where it's it's such a learnable experience where you found things that they're easily fixable and this team could if you get it right right cuz it's not like they were outclassed and outmanned and outgunned and it was a blood bath it was some things in coaching that kind of due to lack of experience and then you have put players in situations they haven't been in before the more you play the more those things get ironed out by Old Miss I think you'll see a different version of bisu where okay the best version of it was not what you saw against UFC in spots you saw it flashed and the defense obviously is marketly better than it was last year which I I look at the the from the scheduling standpoint and I I know that it's not always going to work out like this but I look at that that 2019 schedule where they had the Marquee game early on in the season they just had a warm-up game before they played anybody that was that was you know scary enough to beat them did they open against Georgia Southern in 2019 in week one and then week two they went to Austin and played Texas in a game that game day was there it was the biggest game of the weekend everybody was talking about it in the off season and the buildup but you still had an opportunity to go out there and look at yourself and watch film on you an opponent when you know you didn't have USC on the other sideline I just think that I'm all about the marquee games I I love the headline games I think that they're fun to travel to to I think they're fun to be a part of and you could still be a part of week one if you wanted to get into the week Zero game like if it's if it's Monumental that you're a part of this opening college football weekend okay well then schedule a week zero but I mean even like next season going to Clemson I know that Clemson is is falling on some harder times of what they were than the past couple of years but it's still it's I mean you're still walk into a spot where you know I mean you can get beat I just I think it's it's it's kind of you know I mean I say easy but I mean when you look back at it it's easy to to to keep the the the Big Time game yet have some type of fluffer yeah some type of of warm-up before you get there I mean I there's two schools I thought obviously you love them if you win them you kind of start having this narrative if you lose them because it does I don't I guess I would say that is is the juice worth the squeeze like do you understand what you set yourself up for not when you lose I mean well especially with the conference that you're in and how everything has kind of changed with the everything in college football has changed and now if you win it's a slap on the ass out a boy if you lose it's Buddy look at the rest of your schedule like now you have set yourself up to better not lose to miss it home yeah because then what could now you have two and we were saying that I don't even know if you can get in with two depending on how the rest of the country plays out and Notre Dame wins their one game that was hard on the schedule and now they're pigeon hold into the five seed they made that rule for Notre Dame and they have one more tough test against USC and that's at the end of the year but with those kind of things play out like you start seeing these playoff spots fill up and if USC goes on a run and they beat Notre Dame now you look at that you have to go back to week one and go LS USC yeah like they already played it on the field yeah no doubt I mean we talked about this USC game was a huge game as far as the postseason implications are concerned on how these two teams work out you know I mean when you looked at kind of the the bunch of of teams that were stacked up in you know potentially spots 9 through 12 of the playoff I mean you're talking Penn State you're talking Florida State you're talking about which by the way I mean it could be worse I mean you see the way Florida State started the season a bad 0 and2 they got bullied by Bill O'Brien in Boston College last night but Penn State I mean goes into Morgantown and beats West Virginia on opening weekend that was a solid win by James Franklin in the in the nney L that's the D to Penn State I was I would assume that they would lose that game no doubt about it without question and now USC comes out of the opening weekend as you know a class of that that those those clutter of teams I mean remember LSU was preseason 13 in both polls that's what they think about LSU like are they the first team out or they the team that can make the run and get in literally on the bubble right like I mean they are the first team that you're looking at to say hey they they might be the first team out or they might be the first team in and you know after opening weekend I mean USC was another one of those teams USC was what preseason 22 23 23 I mean that's the bubble it's you know not not even 10 spots see what they do in week one you move them up to 12 let's see what happens so I mean and they go and beat another bubble team you know I mean it's just these Oklahoma looked really good too A lot of people look good you know I mean a lot of people people look bad or did not look good I mean Miami looked good cam Ward is electric I mean I could see how turns it over like 76 times but he was playing backyard football he was toying with them boys he he was jogging halfway through the game he was playing with him but he looked like a pro like he looked like he thought he was better than everybody on the field and sometimes that plays but he'd also made some throws like what are you doing he spins it he spins it but he was going left and threw it across the did it twice one time at work little Demarcus yeah little you know but he's got some some drip when he throws when he throws the football he spins that thing so in Miami schedule like if they that's not it's not a hard one no and so those are teams that if you have a quarterback like Mario Christal is very akin to what Edward Ron was if you find a quarterback you can cover up a lot of maybe the coaching woes that you know you're not going to win between the marches but if you're just more talented than everybody else you're probably going to win a lot of football games and it feels like cam Ward's that guy I know it's an easy week one take but it's pretty impressive they beat the hell out that's at Florida yeah no they embarrassed Florida before like before it gets up yeah no they they beat him into a point where that was that was beyond embarrassing I mean they had staffers standing in front of their recruits trying to like Shuffle the Miami players out of there because they were just like get recruited they were total disrespect I mean it was just all disrespect oh they were Chom I mean the the Florida Chomp is the the easiest troll of all time and it it hits every time it does and Miami was doing it in the end zone and the referees are like let whatever this is out of hand what's the penalty going to do um no I don't think Napier makes it through the year I think he he is that's why they mind be went so much more impressive because you know Florida put so much yes the impetus on that game was very high for both sides but certainly for Billy boy freezing C takes thank you yes uh remember our friends over at Hiller hmel orthodontist if you have that freezing feeling inside of your mouth and you feel like you need to get over and check out the dentist or the orthodontist we have the one for there really sneak out of the house huh I'm home Christian's back yeah your eyes are awful red son what's in the fridge uh check him out online B rouge.com um wait this turn Brian Kelly is going to speak with the Press today we will definitely be listening to that uh after weekend one some of the things that uh that jumped out some of the things that were impressive uh some of the things that I took away uh from week one first off the the Bulldogs I think Georgia is the best team in the country uh they throttled Clemson this past weekend um they do play a really strong schedule though I'm I really am looking forward to seeing Georgia get tested this season I thought that Texas was pretty impressive uh even without their top two running backs Quinn yers even get a little view of arch Manning uh was was pretty impressive to see those guys working in the SEC uh Notre Dame going into Texas A&M did you see Marcus Freeman bringing Texas bring in Mar Notre Dame out he wanted to strap it up cuz and he looked like he could play but I mean the the fields hit him right in the face I was like damn can we play that can we absolutely I mean that is got a little uh I mean yeah I felt something when that happened me too I mean I was like is this is that AI I mean is this real look like the linebacker at Ohio State was di I mean Freeman stepping into the Beast I mean into the belly of it is walking if you've not seen the video of him walking Notre Dame out to Kyle Field and look I have not been the big you know I mean I'm not by any means hadn't really had an opinion on Marcus Freeman I mean I thought you know a first job at Notre Dame what a gig and at some points it looks like it's been a little big for him but it's not looked like it's been too big right like I mean like he's been able to handle the pressure of it being able to kind of set his way get his standard moving and it was an ugly game versus A&M kind of a defensive struggle on both sides A&M's it kind of does look kind of looks the same as it did with Jimbo um but Notre Dame goes in there and wins the game it was more about not Marcus Freeman and the way that he brought him out I mean I mean this is exactly what Notre Dame wanted like where LSU was whenever you had Ed oron doing the same thing and you'd get fired up and it's a players coach and like that's what you kind of hung your hat on and you're like well we need a little bit of structure in order Notre Dame was so rigid and stiff they bring in the cool young guy and he like this guy was as fired up as you could be in the tunnel and it's like that does speak volumes to the players we like this is a new era absolutely and that's what it felt like for Notre Dame and that's what I'm talking about of it you know coming down from the top you know I mean that that's not the first time I'd imagin that Marcus Freeman has shown that part of his personality to his team I'd imagine that that's what his team expects of him like Hey we're walking into A&M fellas and we're not scared of anybody we're calling them all out we're going to step out there and I mean he's 10 yards out the tunnel I mean like we think he's a player he's not hiding like make sure you see me make sure you see us and it like there was a piece of film that I saw I guess it was like from a fan that was standing right there who like it it even started like as they're like walking trying I've seen it too I'm trying to find it because I noticed the same thing you did I was like holy [ __ ] like he's in it man like I was like Jordan look at this I was like Notre Dame is going to win this game like Notre Dame is they they're about to walk up in the in Kyle Field and win this game cuz that was that was without question the most intimidating atmosphere of the weekend yeah I mean that place was rocking that place was on Springs and that was the most impressive part about Notre Dame doing what they did going in there and beating the you know the 12th man really I mean because it could have gone the other way but that said they embraced it where it was like okay we're bringing the fight to you because we ain't scared of [ __ ] and here it is here's the one that we were both looking for but that's what I'm saying that if you're Notre Dame you have to be very excited like it's it feels so fresh and new as opposed to what your brand has been but you know there's two ways to skin a cat unless you was had this and the wheels can fall off how about Jaden Albury for Notre Dame playing playing I mean like he's one of their best players on a defense that is going to be the reason why Notre Dame's there calling card [Music] um this man was in it this dude I'm saying you get former players in there that are like I know exactly what This Moment's going to be no doubt I mean it can be a little too emotional right like I mean but then you kind of like yeah makes you feel a certain way I mean I mean I can yeah yeah are y'all ready it's like hell yeah ready you better get out of the way old man hustle this thing up but yeah that's not the like that's not what I would associate with Notre Dame and now this is their brand now I don't like that's their that's who they are that's what talk M [ __ ] that's what LSU was like and I'm not saying it was the head coach but it was just a mentality when they showed up like they intimidated people Johnny Manzel told Billy Luchi and Billy Luchi told it on our show Manzel told us when he was out of A&M done that there was only two times that he was ever scared going into a football game and he said the first time was in 2012 when he was going through pregame and he looked over and he saw barus Mingo and he saw Eric Reed and he saw theal Simon and he saw Benny Logan and he saw Kevin men and he was like they don't look like everybody else like that don't that don't look like just a college football team and then the second time is when Rashard Robinson shut down Mike Evans in Tiger stadium Manzel's final final year I mean that defense that they rolled out then he was in more intimidated just by the atmosphere he like they had more people on the field than they they did in the I mean the place was packed to the side when man got to Tiger Stadium he was the most popular player in college football and it was a rainy wet day but people were I mean it was packed and LSU beat the hell out of them they beat the hell out of them I think Jarvis Landry scored on the like the first drive of the game he did the electric guitar celebration him and Odell I mean they they and then Rashard Robinson shut down Mike Evans but I mean that's what LSU was LSU would show up with this mentality of like Freaks and this this this personality of they they were head hunting you and you know a lot like Notre Dame walked into Texas A&M the other night that felt like an LSU entrance of of of kind of yester year and you know now it's slamming fist down on the desk saying you know you got to get it right where the intimidation Factor has been lost right and you got to go out there and execute to create some type of intimidation Factor all that would have been funny and point and laugh if you go out there and you get beat by Texas A&M but you go in and win the game and you realize like now a lot of people will reference Notre Dame football with that type of swagger that type of cache person ality to them different day I'm about to pull up the LSU that I kind of you know I would identify as what their personality was and how like people thought of LSU where it was a bit like okay this is different [Music] [Applause] sh come [Applause] on l [Music] [Applause] I am I I was lucky enough to be they're still going at Lambo at Lambo in Green Bay and somehow I don't know how it happened it was just a pure accident because Lambo the the the Press Box to get there is it's a maze I mean you got to walk all throughout I'm trying I'm sorry I'm trying to find this video um here it is right here um and I'm trying to get down to the field we had field access pass to watch the game and I was going down from the Press Box to the field at kickoff and somehow ended up behind LSU running out to the field and I have the video and they are rapping a song that that this same thing I guess this but this is with forette them this is the opening game this is Wisconsin game and I'm telling like as I'm running I felt like I was running out with the team like I mean like I'll show you the video I mean and maybe can can can I send itema to me okay um and I mean like I mean they got they got beat that day but it was like the time of where like you know LSU was showing up with this mentality like they were coming to get you you know like it was like it was some but it just kind of feels it feels like that it feels like that's lost a little bit Yeah like that's all lit you know semantics that's just you know right we're getting old I get you uh Barker Brothers Plum plumbing and works remember Barker Bros you can get in touch with Jude and the crew uh you uh no online no uh no website no social media uh you can call Jude and the crew uh today just by getting in touch with them uh 7762 431 is how you get in touch with Jude just mentioned the show 15% off uh is where you can find Jude Barker and the crew 22577 62431 commercial or Residential Plumbing uh you got it yes feel like there's going to be elite oh it's unreal I mean like it it was it was it was like just cuz you just happened on it like I turned the corner and there's LSU running out yeah I mean like I'm just like my phone out [Applause] as they were coming down that tunnel they were wrapping the whole was that might have been the wrong video I have the I have them rapping yeah this came to the club with n on me Li a [ __ ] like and Les was just all in yeah like I have no idea what they're talking about but they're fired up like game's already won right he was all hold them back he was all in hold on boys I mean that's the tired Ron Brooks like the whole that's a squad yes and it's like I I can't police these people but let's just not get in too much trouble and that's where like I know the K Lacy thing was like a stupid mistake but that's still don't you don't want to lose that like that mentality and a little bit of swagger that LSU does have but you have to show it in the right way like you can't you can't shoot a guy on the field yeah you can't do that but is like that's I mean it's a great picture Call of Duty Call of Duty um well I'm about get in trouble yeah right and that that What's led to where people think like is he being punished on the field and they're not going to talk he like no they're not going to take the he's going to have to he may say he may stay and run right but they're not going to sacrifice a football game because he F pull out the Gat uh all right everybody have a good Tuesday oh no no no no no you know what you know what [Music] um I'm sending you a link right now this is Matt Bowers did you see what Alvin CRA said nuh CRA sold his house and they asked him about it he was like why would I why do I spend my own money Matt Bowers said I can move in with him he's got plenty of room and Bowers tweeted he was like no I did Christian keep it together um and so I want to talk to Bowers about that we're gonna send him a link come back there yeah got you buddy one second we'll be coming to you [Music] live all right welcome back Jordy col show live here on this Tuesday Morning uh before we get out of here uh want to bring in good friend of the show of course uh Matt Bowers Automotive you've heard the name uh dominant Automotive Group throughout the state of Louisiana uh he has been great to our show uh he's also a big old Miss fan good time to be an Old Miss fan uh right now as the rebs run through opening week uh with that offense and Link and excuse me and Lane kein uh but some more news around Matt Bowers was made over the weekend as Alvin chra sold his house and uh in the suburbs of New Orleans and he was asked directly about it by the Press on what's the deal with the house and sounds like chimra just taking a little Financial Independence and said look I'm not going to spend my own money on a house why would I do that when I've got good friends like Matt Bowers who said I could just live with him uh so that was tweeted out yesterday and Bowers confirmed it he said look I got a lot of room in my house uh he can come live with me uh so no problem it doesn't look like Alvin CRA is going to leave New Orleans cuz he's got a place to live and it's with our guy Matt Bowers that you can uh find all his Automotive groups online at Matt bow.com uh Matt good morning how are you man I'm doing great good morning what's going on great doing better than BK this morning man yes yes you are H yes yes you are uh sorry no no no no no I to be expected um tell us about the camra situation obviously you two guys are tight um what what can you tell us about this no Al Alvin's is a you a really good friend of mine been a good friend of mine you know since the year before he came out of college um you know we had mutual friends and you know he's had a fantastic career down here he's a great friend Smart Guy funny guy you know he's very funny guy but maybe a couple weeks ago he sent me a text and said uh hey you know I'm G to sell my house if I sell my house do you think I can stay over by by your place or or whatever I don't I said yeah you know um not forever though you know what I mean maybe during the season or what I got a wife I got a couple kids you know whatever but you know so he he you know he's yeah you know he's uh I I think he's he's just like anybody else I mean like if you were single and 29 years old and you sold your house do you go buy another H you know like I think he's unsure you know what he what he wants to do what area he wants to live and all that kind of stuff so that's it uh Matt I don't know how speakly I don't know how you you there give me a better picture give me give me a better picture what you just put the phone up we got video of you if you want it on like looks like a I don't know looks anyway um you look tell me tell me I don't know I'm not not my record has been spun like a true Rebel yeah no um so can you speak freely about how you feel about the Saints here going into the season I I mean I I I have can I speak freely no you know I'm I I could blink two times you know if I'm on camera you know and let you know I'm in trouble or whatever but I'm on you know I'm on the the the superum commission I can't speak freely at all but uh how do you how do you think they should handle this camra situation I mean you know are they are they in a win now mode I think that Alvin I think Alvin sacrificed a lot yeah that others haven't you know I mean you noticed how other people get you know hurt or whatever you know and don't play and all that Alvin never done that you know Alvin's played every time you know he's played through injuries he's you know he's done everything he loves the city um Alvin told me a long time ago you know um and you could ask Alvin to speak for himself on this but I'll just you know tell you how I feel and what I know you know he you know he wanted to play his whole career here and retire here you know he's invested in the City of New Orleans um personally you know outside of his house he's got other Investments he things so if he's not in New Orleans it's not GNA be because he didn't want to be in New Orleans if he didn't be in New Orleans the running back playing without a without a contract next year you know I mean I'm not his age you know he's doing more than people know you know what I mean so it's not like it would be very him to to to not be playing or holding out right now it any other running back that would do this you know but he wants to play football and he wants to play here so he's not here it's not because he didn't want to be here Matt there's a great piece on espn.com about Lane kein written by Chris low um it's an in-depth article about the transformation of kein and kind of where he is now I know you and kein are are pretty cool and and and have a relationship how have you seen him grow in in Oxford and and what type of year do you expect from the rebs I think laye you know I mean think about it I I don't know who's been to Oxford Mississippi but if you're a single guy making whatever when he got there you know it's what's the available dating pool you know right right college girls and married women really I mean so it's like I think that perfect I think his I think his transform not not if you're him you know what I mean not everybody not if you're you know not if you got a million people on your Twitter not really so it's like I think at some point he just realized that hey look you know know you know I got a good situation I got support I got a place that wants me here and all this other stuff is up to me so no I can tell you firsthand when I went to the College World Series with him he you know he didn't drink at all so it's been at least that long you know so he doesn't drink he doesn't go out you know you know he's focused on on his job and and um you know he's done self- sabotaging himself I think can you know look all of us that are young Were Young and Wild and all that have done a little bit of that um you know not that I have that other people I'm sure SE it around me not people around me I notic know I mean I know what it looks like no yeah you know so but I can only guess but but he you know look he's you know he's serious about his job he serious about not you know hurting himself or taking himself out of the equation or creating drama and stuff like like that his daughter's up there his brother just moved up there with his family his son's coming next year and look I saw him and you know I think people are going to be shocked by what they look like in person you know um they've always had great skill guys that you know DK AJ Brown all that kind of stuff physically up front they're they're going to be they're they're bigger than LSU you know they're they're huge did did you know what I mean so did I did I see three offensive linemen that were starters last year are now running with the twos yes yeah I mean these are these are guys that are two-year starters that are that are backups at this point I mean their front their defensive front looks like LSU Alabama Georgia like they're they're huge you know uh Nolan's the freak uh JJ Pig the freak the kid from Florida looks like Javon Kurst or something he looks like a he doesn't even look the poor kid from Ferman like I watched him line up on the first play looked at him like six times from the Huddle like what you know so it's you know so they got I think they got 18 guys I mean they're old team I mean there you know the quarterbacks a threee start look they're going to be good now can they go into to Tiger Stadium and beat LSU you know odds you know you know what what's what's LSU's record prime time on Saturday night you know like right they don't lose a lot you know what I mean so I mean you know it's but they're good no they're good just like a lot of teams in the SEC are good this year they're it's the best team I've seen by far from there in a long long long long forever let's just call it ever uh if yeah if camra Moves In Your House you'll have a great opportunity for reality television that would be fantastic um thank you for I'm closing my street down for Halloween if that happens okay nobody's coming you know like you know can't trick or- treat in my house right dressing up like Drew Brees come back yeah Bowers thank you as always man it's great to catch up with you appreciate you bro there he is Matt Bowers great dude uh dominant Automotive Group in the state of Louisiana look in every city theyve has I'm sure there's a Matt Bowers Automotive near you sounds like he's not worried about a whole lot no he's not uh my great dude great dude uh can you speak freely about the Saints he was like hell no I can't do that I'm on the board I'm on the super doome commission and and what's funny enough is that's an answer in itself well now that we have you yeah so what does that mean right I'm believing um
