night that the gamees top prospect Jackson holiday is returning to this 26-man roster Jackson is batting eighth today for the Orioles and playing second base he struggled in his first go round in the big leagues two for 34 with no extra base hits he's been performing really well in Triple A particularly in July and Jackson holiday spoke to the media a short while ago about what he was doing in Triple A yeah it was uh it was obviously sad to go back down but uh got to go down there and and make some adjustments and uh and improve a little bit and um set myself up for for a second time around so glad to be here what specifically were those adjustments were you focusing offense defense where were we going with that yeah I mean I'm someone who likes to to work my allaround game so uh getting better at defense and then um but yeah an offense trying to cut down swing and Miss especially on Fast BS um it's important to to hit strikes and uh that's kind of the the main goal flatten out the swing a little bit and getting back to what I was doing a little bit last year and um just a little bit different of a of a setup and a little bit more legs and um just trying to trying to make adjustments to to get back up here so happy with it what do you take away from your first in up here yeah I mean obviously this is the the best league in the world and um definitely got shown that and uh looking forward to to tonight and um just getting back out there and playing and um I feel like I'm definitely more prepared than than I was last time there was so much fanfare when you got up here the first time do you feel like you know now that you've had your feet wet and will it be a little easier for you do you think yeah I think so I think uh getting the debut out of the way and and all the all the stuff that comes with that um it's definitely a little bit easier coming back up here uh a second time and just being relaxed and comfortable with the environment have you been feeling the are extra years of control and years that you project to be you know good from a um a financial standpoint so we took on Zach gin $18 million happily um because he's a really good pitcher and he's going to be a big part of our rotation this year but also uh slots right into the top of it next year and so um you know we attach value to that it it um allows you to be a little more aggressive with the the trade return When you know this isn't something that's going to go away in a couple of months so I really most of the players we brought in here fit that bill um uh Sir Anthony Dominguez has a club option Gregory sto still has another year of arbitration Trevor Rogers has two more years of arbitration like I said Zach's under contract next year um so I think all that's nice for next year for next year are you confident this rotation is strong enough to get you guys through a deep postseason run for next year no for this year for this postseason yeah I hope so I mean look uh I don't want to tempt the baseball Gods uh anymore than I have to in this job but um you know we've got five really good starters now we've got depth and Triple A um so and and we've got Albert Suarez um who's going to move into a long relief role in all probability here but you know he's shown that he can kind of step in and step out and uh take the ball as needed so I'll take it that's for sure that 101.5 [Music] it's kind of strange to say but it is a one-run game the Orioles four and the Blue Jays three the Orioles uh had a lot of good bats against Paulo Espino who is out of the game after he went four Innings allowed four runs on five hits that included a home run by Colton cowser but Toronto has managed single runs in each of the last three as the pitch comes in and it's low to Ryan Oar hitting left side against the new pitcher it is right-hander yerri Rodriguez who appeared earlier on in the series goes into his motion and the 10 pitch is line foul off to the third base side one ball and one strike now y Rodriguez 26-year-old right-hander 62 about 200 pounds one-1 pitch fast ball painted at the knees for strike two Ryan o'n looks back at Adrien Johnson thinking it was low some opportunities for some young players now in the Blue Jays organization with a number of deals made and that included a number of Bullpen pieces being traded Rodriguez with a onew hit softly foul Atkins the blue jay's general manager said that he was disappointed that Toronto was there he said it's unacceptable and even apologized publicly to their fan base and I don't think it's that when you consider probably the capital investment that is made into that happening but 1 oh down and away for ball two you would figure that probably trying to do a rebuild under those circumstances me in the minor leagues but there has to be a place for him in the big leagues and they're not going to bring him up here to be in some sort of platoon situation 2-1 pitch is off the outside corner for ball three until that Minor League season ends Kobe Mayo has to play every day period I know fans sometimes are thinking well they your best 26 but they're also developing players three and one
