Jools Lebron 'Demure' TikTok Trend is Annoying

yeah well speaking of brat summer brat summer is getting run for its money with this new Tik Tok Trend started by a content creator who goes by the name Jules LeBron essentially it's Dem it's mindful it's cutesy these are all of the new buzzword that are being circulated on Tik Tok for you Pages everywhere before you do that you should read to them the dictionary definition of oh my I don't I don't have it in front of me but it basically means reserved uh decorously what was it decorously uh somber and very uh what was it it was do you remember what it was I mean you were the one who wanted the definition so bad I asked you for it earlier I was like in my mind it was just reserved okay but it could be like something more than that uh reserved modest and shy typically used of a woman a demor young lady like think Jane Austin mhm I guess so this Tik tocker Jules LeBron is giving everybody etiquette lessons how to behave demurely in the workplace in the airport everywhere you go you have to be demor and mindful and cut see and not be like those other girls who are doing the most and you think that this is about societal expectations of women well that's what every journalist is saying actually not me not you okay that's what that's their interpretation the ones who are writing think pieces about this well here's the thing I think Jules LeBron is being completely serious with all of these videos even though they're they're you know tongue and- cheek I think that Jules LeBron Jules LeBron is being serious the journalists however think that this is satire meant to poke fun at the unrealistic expectations placed on women uh according to a trans Advocate and influencer to beat deure in 2024 is to be quietly elegant it's a comedic commentary on how according to long-standing patriarchal beliefs femininity is only found attractive if it's agreeable and easy to look at women are often told to be a man's vapid accessory rather than his smart vocal peer so when women perform as being demor they're actually reclaiming the patriarchal expectations of society and it to empower themselves so does that mean that Camala Harris's husband is deor he's the demor one she's brat and Doug is demor okay um okay let's look at some examples though because it's it all started with Jew's video about remaining demure and modest and respectful in the workplace yes this is it it got millions upon millions of views okay here we go my makeup for work very demure very mindful I don't come to work with a green cut crease don't look like a clown when I go to work I don't do too much I'm very mindful while I'm at work you see how I look very presentable the way I came to the interview is the way I go to the job a lot of you girls go to the interview looking like March Simpson and go to the job looking like Patty and Selma not deure I'm very modest I'm very mindful you see my shirt only a little Chichi out not my Choo be mindful of why they hired you here's your reality check Diva what's the name you'd like me to make it out too um I mean in an age where people are bringing their parents to job interviews I can't even argue so you think this is like valid I have no idea do you agre I don't even know I don't even know if what they're doing if what this they're doing is serious I think it is serious but it's done in a tongue and cheek fashion okay I'm I'm needless to say my male brain can't comprehend this need to say Jules LeBron is trans this person is by logically male okay um and I find it a little bit condescending actually a lot a bit condescending that a transwoman is telling women how to behave in public spaces and in order to give them lessons on femininity I do find that very rich but I am willing to you know entertain it as a bit right okay as a just just a silly little tick to Trend and see how people respond to it because I think if a self-proclaimed TRD wife who is actually female started a trend like this she would be getting Rak over the coals she would be getting destroyed right now by the feminists but because it's a trans woman's content creator of color um that is saying this stuff Suddenly It's okay so I do find that kind of ironic my favorite was one because this trend has been picked up by everyone was a lady um in a wheelchair using it to get up a ramp and saying see the way I I I get up the ramp it be applied to any literally be applied to anything okay so there's another one uh how I order my room service in a demure way I can't let's learn we're learning lessons see how I get room service I don't do crazy like you girls I do very simple I get something very simple and very healthy I'm not like you girls I don't do let's do a burger let's do wings not crazy like you girls ladies let's be mind let's have something very light and you know cutesy let's not be crazy when we order room service I'm sorry it feels like it feels like they're making fun of women it is I can't help but think it is I mean right that's what it feels like to me um there was another one how to have a nice demure drink at the airport see how I wait for my plane I do a nice soda I don't I don't get drunk drunk like these other girls I don't I don't do drinking and be a drinker like these other girls I'm very Demir I'm very cutesy with it you know I do a nice Sprite I sit with my friend I don't do a lot like you girls remember to be deir very brand like just tell me if if an actual biological female were doing this trend if a before it became a trend yeah if a biological female created this trend and popularized it do you really think she would be getting late night appearances brand deals celebrities mimicking the trend it's like it would not be like that because she would be getting bullied by feminists Nala can't even make food without people trying N I say Nala just so you know it's not the same chick with the O yes no I was yeah Nara same thing no um just right like but perfect example yes if Nara was making food in making a video like this there would be all sorts of think pieces about what it means for the feminine nature um when a woman is you know acquiescing to traditional gender rules right when she does it it's a it's depressing because you said Nala and I was think when I realized it was wrong I was thinking The Lion King not the adult actress from whatever yeah much more wholesome yeah no if if it's a real woman actually being Demir that's oppression that is uh a cult that is patriarchal and it must be stopped but if it is a biological male giving women etiquette lessons on how to be feminine then it's okay then it becomes a meme then you know everyone celebrates it and loves it and now even Lindsay Lohan and jam Lee Curtis on the set of Freaky Friday too uh did their own demure Tik Tok straight hair Barry demure wearing a seat belt very mindful like all these celebrities are adding their two cents into the demure Trend because it's hot right now and I just don't think it would have gotten there if a woman started it but we need to ask what the lady from ballerina Farms Farm thinks of this yeah she cuz she got the worst treatment for simply living her life um now most iron Al Jules LeBron is using the revenue from the Demir Trend to finance the rest of their transition okay let's let's take a look at these keeps asking me like how I feel about what's going on and I feel so overwhelmed like I feel so grateful don't get me wrong but everything's happening so fast is this so overwhelmed I have so much to do as soon as I got here oh God but I'm living my [ __ ] dream [ __ ] yelling like that not deir not deir not mindful not cutesy might even kind of say it's uh that's very masculine to do it that way very boisterous yes very irritating um there was another video uh about the demure Tik tocker financing her transition um Benda maybe you should maybe you should make the videos maybe you should make the videos because one day I was playing cashier and making videos be on my break and now I'm flying across country to host events and I'm going to be able to finance the rest of my transition I finally said it without crying so tell me if a real biological woman would be getting flown across the country going on late night shows getting countless brand deals getting celebrated in the media for the same thing I don't think so in fact I'll give you a better comparison the only way to do this as a biological woman is to do the opposite of this which is be hakua girl where you then get flown across the country for vulgarity that's so true I didn't even think about it like that yeah I guess talk Tua and brat girl summer are you know on the other end of the spectrum from the demor trend it really would have been a nice Trend right it was a nice idea and it maybe even maybe there even from the wrong messenger there is a a way of comparing these in a way that's like look the demor trend uh as it stacked up against the person who created it which is not a biological woman runs headlong against uh Hawk Tua girl who is for the most part looks like a pretty wholesome person with uh a viral clip that was not wholesome and there's a subversion of expectations in both cases that seem to be exactly Into The Sweet Spot of what virality on social media is looking for they say the Demir Trend specifically shows how trans women's experience with femininity is nuanced and multi-layered because biological women are not allowed to have nuanced and uh and layered definitions of feminism certainly doesn't seem nuanced and multi-layered when your entire definition of femininity comes from freaking Jane Austin novels yeah it's not a bad place to start but it's not you know I mean you can be loud boisterous and annoying as F and still be a woman and still you know be feminine because you're a woman and that's something that you cannot earn you're born with it well see like the the beauty of of for someone who's an actual biological woman is that you get to act outside the traditional roles of what it is to be a woman and not have to worry you know if your self assured that it somehow makes you less of who you are right everybody else you know if someone is trans they have to worry consistently if how they're being am I fitting into this mold yes am I passing yeah that's the big thing for them so I do find this very condescending and belittling to women I said but when before we were live I said I feel bad for women because for the most part every aspect of your existence now is boiled down to Tik Tock Trends clean girl aesthetic brat girl summer to be fair they do this to themselves you know women women perpetuate this onto themselves it's kind of like that thread that was going viral the other day about it just like male privilege is being able to wear the same thing all the time and guys are like there isn't a guy on Earth who gives a crap if you wear the same dress twice like who says you're not allowed to wear the same thing twice like that is the height of Insanity to say that that's men's fault that's uh a restriction that's put on you by your own fear of the perceptions of other women not men right yeah which is just as valid but they shouldn't blame men and the patriarchy for something that's self- enforced intrasexual so everything for women has to be boiled down to some maybe it is women's desire to categorize and colate and then put everybody into this box somehow it's weird because I thought that categorizing things was a male thing I can't keep track of any of it anymore but it makes sense that we are having this like generational struggle to still Define what a woman is and and maybe that's what it is they don't even realize what they're experiencing is is a constant silent panic over what it is to be a woman because the rest of society won't allow you to have a definition for it right exactly I think that that is actually what's bubbling under the surface here but I'm not going to write a think piece about it like these like these journalists who are doing the most right now I'm going to be demure and I'm going to be mindful
