hey Tom um just talk to us about how the last few months have been what's been on your mind and supp conversations with move brought you back to this spot yeah um obviously spoke recently with John OA I was through my my agent my dad and uh scheduled a call with him and uh yeah just had a good chat with him just about things and about how my season went at Leicester and just different different you know different stuff that went on that season um yeah it's was a good phone call obviously maybe in two minds over the last few months can you tell us what may tip of SCS and to Ireland I wouldn't even say it was in two minds it was more of a case of when I've been called up to play for Ireland I've come during me so previously when call UPS have come I well under Steven Kenny I had tons litis so obviously I couldn't come into camp and then um when John oay called last time I was just coming over an injury so I just wanted to maintain form at Leicester and just see the season out and then it all come a bit maybe all at once I just wanted to take a step back from it and just gauge it from there so you've always been 100% committed yeah I have yeah it's just you newspapers like to create stories headlines about England so um yeah it's always I've always been committed to Ireland hence why I'm here it never came into your mind the stuff no it was just all I mean there's some truth into it but my agent just dealt with it I never gotten got involved in any conversations with anyone so um yeah I'm happy to be here now that you are here house first a few days been for you yeah been very good I've enjoyed it um obviously meeting all the new Lads it's been uh it's been class and obviously I know a few of them from obviously you know playing for previous Club so it's been nice to see them Tom did did g or your agent even or the reports did sound like there was interest from yeah it was I think it was more Le Car he spoke to my agent but I didn't speak to anyone I didn't speak to Le Car the old off now and when you hear something like that that is it's a massive compliment to two football nation looking for your from you have to think about uh I suppose something you have you do have to think about just because of like the the scenario but it never really ented my head as if I'm going to pick one or the other it was more of just taking a step back from and looking at the situation and just going from that and how's it been for how's your season been for Lester I know you haven't been in the team all but you're to the Premier League so yeah it was good I mean I hit a bit of form and Jan uh scored like three and four start and then um like different things happen as like how football works but I mean it was a tough start for injury I had like a stress fraction in my back so it was I was out for like well sign on Deadline day and then I was out for like 3 months so it was quite tough but H I just kept my head down and cracked on and uh relished the rewards in January by scoring them goals and yeah and then got my minutes where I can towards the back end of the season NE I just asked prior to your move to Lester how big an influence was sham calling on you oh massive I mean I'm sure any any young lad will tell you Sheamus is right up with with with the best of people I mean he's a he's an absolute top fell an even better player and to have someone like that when you're coming in as a young lad's massive to just put your arm range and just you know tell you what's what and it's it's crucial is he tough as well like if you think people ar oh he is yeah he's tough yeah you get on to you if if you're not performing to the standards he thinks but I mean it's all good it just shows how highly r when you were saying there say he car being in touch with your AG stuff just is an indication obviously a business you have your career look as well is there a you have disc decision where you go uh well yeah it's just a natural conversation to have I mean it's both moment ad and um it was nothing it was nothing heavy because it was never really a massive thing during me it was just I feel like I got escalated but um sport to Mo my dad and and obviously sport to all my family agents and just quickly yeah just come to a decision it was wasn't hard you're very welcome a couple of things about me um just the Irish connections if you didn't mind just just double checking May and written down here of Castle Bar just run through me with his grandparents yeah so my dad's uh dad's Mo dad are more like Castle Bar M side and then my mom's mom's side of the family I like go away from like M um so every summer I mean every summer as I can remember from a kid I'd mainly visit my dad's side more like Castle Bar M cuz that's where cousins live so um we go over every summer it was uh it was good and few games of pool at different bars and whatnot and it was uh it was good I enjoyed it are you aware that of the male GA football team that they Haven won the all Ireland for a long long time I I've SE I've watched I've watched a few games to be honest um I do enjoy it it's good and yeah I know they haven't won for a while so maybe maybe they maybe yeah um and would you would you plan back there this summer as well have you any plans back there yeah yeah I tend to come over every summer cuz my n is in um in mayo and I tend to like go over and visitare room so I tend to come over like my dad and my mom and my brothers and uh sister and we go over and see her and then spend some time with uh with the family so yeah it's always good to come over you're from you know cly question as well did you go to that National or did you yeah I managed to go this summer um I managed to go to the last one yeah cuz we had like schedule fixtures we had a we had Plymouth way so I got a car back on the Friday to to make the nation on the Saturday so it was uh it was nice to go cuz I had been for a while just Ed to you know fixtures and what not did you back guy Maximus I did actually yeah I had a few quit on him yeah so it was H it was nice to win that so yeah final no just just this this is actually probably more related to to the Lesser situation but mesco looks like he got he he got is he it looks like he's G I don't know if he's no I hav't heard no nothing no I haven't heard nothing that it couldn't but he he obviously saw something in you so the new manager it might yeah might might do yeah just have to go back in uh preseason see what happens I mean I don't we haven't announced a new manager yet nothing so I don't know you know preseason plans you haven't got them yet no I haven't got them now sorry Che Thomas hi M start with like did the approach come from your family or was Mark or the F or how he initially gred they come from I spoke to Mar tool um he was more in contact with my dad cuz I was playing but from Everton when I was at Everton I spoke to Phil MCU he's like an he was he's well he is Irish and he was um like the welfare officer there so I remember when I was about 14 or 15 spoke to him about it and then um Mar to went through the process of sorting passports and everything and then um and then yeah just went from there I was demic Ino was that your first yeah Ino yeah so you from from straight away yeah it did yeah it was good enjoyed it just ask B Casey M could here John spoke up him the day he was ke to be here just with the injuries he had he was be to be he's still very much wants to be part of just a couple of words on Casey what he's like and have you had conversations with him about yeah yeah suppose him he's a he's he's a good guy and he's a top player as well so I get on very well from like on a day to dat i ler I be I'll be with him chatting um in and around him and um yeah he's he's had a good season but difficult season through injuries he's his H single a few times so um I'm sure he'd love to be here but I think it's probably best for him that he rests and then comes back again next yearas and take from there sorry just one one last one just with your the links between your your agent is is Kenny Kenny Kenny Moy yeah been able to work look for manager has any uh I don't know I don't know nothing um I wouldn't know so no I don't know Tom just go back to the start you mentioned about the England link and something that the media maybe blew up right but like we're only going on Stephen Kenny's comments Jim Crawford spoke subsequently Mora said you were staring as well um and you obviously know what Ro and that realistic situations like when you look back you think it would have been better had you come out and said something um maybe but then it's maybe just best to just let it all let it all be because I mean people believe what what they want to believe do you know I mean I kind of I seen it on my phone and I just thought it's best not to react cuz it just create more more thingy but maybe should have come up and said something but at the same time it it wasn't really my place is obviously Steven said what he said but then at the same time I was ill I had tons litis so um which I think he come out and said didn't he I think no he did say that but he mentioned with the approach and you probably saw you getting bracketed with those two yeah yeah which people are going to perceive because it's relatively recently yeah if you were if or was out your Downy sh in town for you would you not be better to to say that even something on social media say this is not an allegian thing this is not well at the moment uh maybe so I mean I think it depends what way you look at but it was more of a case of England got in contact with my agent so I was kind of just keeping out of it to be honest I didn't want to get involved and then I had enough to focus on the club football so I just want to focus on that I think think you're going to be C TI for Ireland if you play against England on September 7th which is something that's you really like it oh hopefully hopefully I'm playing yeah against England yeah last one time sorry if you're a good talker what are your Ambitions in this window and your Ambitions going forward for just to get as many CS as I can I mean hopefully I make my debut against uh e hungry or Portugal and then just show the Adam fans what I can do and show committed really I want to be here so um I'm just
