and the search for couch has stopped for the night the Sheriff's Office expects it to pick back up at Daybreak tomorrow as wdbs Monica Harkin explains police have not outright said couch is the shooter but now say the evidence is starting to point in that direction Monica yeah felon Laurel County Sheriff's Office says during the investigation this afternoon police found an AR-15 in that same area off Exit 49 of I75 where they found C Couch's car abandoned with a r ful case police say the area where it happened is one of the most remote exits along I75 and has made this Manhunt more difficult the sheriff's office today confirmed it was not a case of road rage and the evidence seems to be a shooter on foot there's still no clear motive he couldn't have picked a an area that is any more remote and difficult for us to try to locate him and that's what we want to do we want to safely we don't want our guys to get hurt uh we don't want any more of the public to be hurt and we want to take him into custody safely and and it's and it's a it's a big task the AR15 found will still need to be processed again five people were shot and seriously hurt again they say they are stable at this point at least nine cars hit with gunfire one man driving past says at first they didn't realize their car was hit I hope they find whoever's responsible and that they they do it quickly um there there's like lives at risk until they do and I just uh hope and pray for the victims and that they they catch this person and are able to put a stop to it before anybody else is is put in danger Laurel County Sheriff's Office says the area where couch is believed to be has been secured for the night until that search picks up tomorrow but in light of all this Laurel County public schools has announced it will not have school tomorrow with photojournalist Ariana Shuka Monica Harkins WDRB news
