diy music plaque keychain | spotify keychain! *cheap and easy!* (tiktok)

intro [Music] ryan little [Music] hey guys it's brooklyn and welcome back to my channel or welcome to my channel if you're new so a couple weeks ago i posted a video of me making these song plaques right here and that video did super super well so thank you for all the love on that video it means a lot and since y'all liked that video so much i decided that today i would be doing a part two and i made these little keychains of different song covers and spotify codes and that's what i'm going to be showing y'all today so for these keychains i made three different types the first one is this little song plaque and this is just like an exact mini copy of the big song class that i did the next one is just a little spotify code and the last one was a spotify code that is completely clear and doesn't have any background like this one does so in today's video i'm going to be showing y'all how you can make all three versions of those keychains before i get into the tutorial i just want to say thank y'all for how fast my channel has been growing recently it means a lot and we're quickly approaching my goal of hitting 10k subscribers before september so if you aren't subscribed already make sure you go and subscribe down below to help me hit my goal and yeah without further ado let's just get right into the video so the first step of this process is to preparing the pictures prepare your pictures so for these little song plaques the pictures are obviously the album covers so to get the album covers what i did is just i went on to google and i typed in the name of the album we want to make sure that the picture you're using is good quality because you obviously don't want it to be blurry or anything once you have the album cover picked out you just want to put it into a google doc or a word if that's what you prefer to use but you just want to open up a blank document and put that picture on it so for the pictures that i used i changed the size to 1.25 by 1.25 and then i also changed the text wrapping to wrap text and you can make the pictures bigger or smaller it'll just depend on how big or small you want your keychain to be but for me 1.25 by 1.25 was the perfect size and then to get the spotify code is really simple process you just want to open up the song on spotify and then tap on the little album cover or picture and then when you tap on it it's going to open up to just the picture and you want to press little words that say save to photos and then it'll just save that picture to your camera roll and then you want to go into your camera roll and crop it so that it's just the code and not the actual album cover and then once you have a crop to just the code you can put that into your google doc and then once i put mine into the google doc i changed the width to 2.25 and then i let the height adjust automatically and i also changed the text wrapping of the codes to wrap text as well and then once you have all your album covers and spotify codes out on a google doc you can just go ahead and print that picture so this is what mine looked like once it was all printed and you can also see that they're all relatively proportional to each other that's why i just chose the sizes that i materials you need did so once you have your pictures printed then you're ready to start assembling your keychains so the materials you're gonna need is obviously your printed pictures and then you're gonna need this plastic called acetate and acetate is basically just like a stronger and a little bit thicker plastic and for the acetate i used i just used this little binder divider that goes right into your binder to like divide all the subjects and everything i just used one of these and as you can see it's not as like flimsy or wobbly as normal plastic it's a little bit thicker and this is the material you want to use for the keychain and you can check any extra folders notebooks or again like binder dividers to see if you have any display around your house then you'll need some glue double-sided tape or just any type of adhesive then you'll need a sharpie pen or just any paint markers some scissors a ruler and a little key rings that are actually going to be able to make it a keychain and then the last thing you'll need is a safety pin or just any type of needle so assembling the keychains the first thing you want to do is just cut out all of your pictures that step obviously doesn't need much of an explanation and then once you have your pictures cut out you can set them to the side and you can start cutting your plastic and this is where the ruler and the sharpie pen will come in handy so for the spotify code keychain i wanted the plastic to be three inches wide and one inch high so i just measured three inches by one inch on the plastic and i made little markings with my sharpie pen and i used it as my guide to just cut it out and then again for the album covers i just did pretty much the same thing i wanted the width to be two inches and my height to be two and a half inches so i just again use my ruler and mark the measurements with my sharpie pen and then just cut it out with my scissors once you have everything cut out you can start attaching the pictures so i used some clear glue and this little sponge brush to attach the pictures if you're using clear glue you don't have to use a sponge brush you could literally just use your finger or any other paint brush i just didn't feel like getting my finger dirty so that's why i use the sponge brush or if you don't want to use glue you can also use some double-sided tape so you just want to apply whatever adhesive to the back of the picture and stick it onto the plastic at wherever place you want it to go and then for the very last spotify code what i did is i taped it onto the back of the plastic that specific one will be what i use to make the clear spotify code and i'll show you that process a little bit later so once you have the pictures attached you can take all the spotify codes and just put them to the side for now because at this point you just need to work on the little song plaques so now we can start writing and designing the song plaques for this process you can use either a sharpie pen or a paint marker it doesn't really matter i just used a sharpie pen because my sharpie pen had a thinner tip than my paint marker did so on your phone you want to open up whatever song that you're doing the song plaque for and you just want to have that open for your reference picture so the first thing i did was i used my ruler to draw a straight line to make the little time stamp bar thing and then i just drew a little dot to represent what time it would be at and i didn't actually write the numbers for the length of the song or anything but if you wanted to do that you can once i drew that line i just wrote the name of the song the artist and the little play buttons at the bottom and then i used my green paint marker to draw in that little heart and i like drawing in the heart because i feel like it just adds a nice touch to it and it gives a pop of color then i just repeated that entire process for the other song plaque that i wanted to make and that's all you need to do to make the song black now the last thing we need to draw out is that little clear spotify code keychain so you want to take the spotify code that you taped onto the back of the plastic all you need to do is take your marker and trace the entire song code and you want to make sure you trace it exactly how it is on the paper so that it'll actually work as a code and then i just peeled off the tape and the paper from the back of the plastic i went back and filled in any gaps or patchy spaces that were left on the code so now that you have everything drawn out on the different pieces of plastic the last step to do is just attach the keyring so for this process i just used a safety pin to poke a hole through the plastic and for all the holes i poked i just put them all in the top left corner because that's what i thought would look best but it doesn't really matter where you want to put them it's all personal preference and then once you have the hole poked you just want to slide your key ring through the little hole and for me this process was kind of difficult just because my key rings were really thick and the hole was really skinny so what i ended up doing was i took a pencil and i took the tip of it and just pushed it through that hole to make it a little bit wider once it was stretched out a little bit i can easily fit the key ring through it and once you have all your key rings in then you're pretty much done with the entire project the final product :) [Music] one optional last step that you could do is just seal the keychain with some mod podge or any other sealant and this would just protect the picture and the paint and anything from getting scratched at any future point it is just an optional step that you guys can take to make it last a bit longer so again here's how all my little keychains turned out and i actually think they turned out pretty nice they're of course not perfect but they're personalized and especially for how quick and easy these were to make i think they turned out pretty good and also all these spotify codes work so all i have to do is just open up the app and i can scan these codes to pop up the song anytime i think this is a really good little personal thing you guys can make for yourself your friends family whoever it might be it's a quick little gift idea and yeah that's it for today's video i really hope you guys enjoyed if you guys did like this video then give it a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel so you don't miss my next video and make sure you guys subscribe so you guys can help me reach my goal of 10k before september that would mean a lot to me you guys can go comment down below any of the video ideas you have for me and i'll try my best to get those done for y'all and yeah thank you guys so much for watching and i'll see you next week
