inspiring to hear a lot of good information we're happy you're here we do have some guests with us and we are especially happy you've come to visit with us today and hope you enjoy our service but are blessed by being here very much we are also uh showing this online live so if you're watching at home we welcome you to join us today um we know you will enjoy this we will be live uh tonight and uh Monday night service as well as uh Monday afternoon session with the kids so glad you're joining us hope you feel at home here I want to begin with a scripture turn our hearts to praise this is from the psalm 108 I will praise you oh Lord among the Nations I will sing of you among the peoples for Great Is Your Love higher than the heavens your faithfulness reaches to the skies be exalted oh God above the heavens and let your glory be over all the Earth we want to express our praise we want to exalt the Lord as we come together let's stand as we begin Our Song service praise to the almighty praise to the Lord the Almighty the king of [Music] cre oh my soul praise him for his he is my health and salv all ye who here now to his Temple draw near join in Glad [Music] Ador praise to the Lord over all the [Music] Earth amen you may be seated at Park Plaza um we love sharing together in the Lord's supper and we do this as often as we can especially we do this every Sunday when We Gather we have lots of guests with us today and I want you to know all Christians are always welcome to share with us in the Lord's Supper because this is one of the things Christ asked his church the Christians worldwide to do as a way we remember him we pick up communion cups as we come in they're out in the lobby but if you did not get one of these um we have Donnie here and some other helpers just raise your hand and they will bring one to you because we want everyone to be able to participate in this special service for us we will be singing a song that turns our eyes to the cross the grace and love of our Lord and then we'll have a time of meditation in prayer and after the prayer we will partake of the Lord's Supper emblems together so I'll direct you in doing that we're going to sing a song that talks about what it is That Forgives our sin of course it's Christ it's his blood shed for us it's the grace of God that he had on us we'll sing this song and then I'll Lead You In A Grace God's grace graen andle with Grace Grace God's grace Gra that is greater than all our sin amazing gra How Sweet the like me I want [Music] I see my favorite songs and hymns tend to always center around the word Grace the reality of Grace and I think one of the reasons for that in my younger years I did not always understand Grace or understand the importance of God's grace none of us can be good enough um as I've come to understand it more and none of us will ever fully realize will ever be able to comprehend the grace that our Lord has for us when we were Sinners he was willing to offer his son his son was willing to go to die as a sacrifice for us in those songs we just sang I hope you paid attention to the words powerful words God's gra is Grace is marvelous he's a loving God and His grace exceeds all of our sin every one of us Amazing Grace How Sweet the Sound it saved a poor wretched sinful person such as I as we share in the Lord's Supper today I want you to focus on the grace of God and how important that is and if we don't fully understand it we want to understand it more we want to be uh grateful more and more in our life the reality that God loves us so much to make a way to forgive our sin couple scriptures I'm going to read from Ephesians but because of his great love for us God who is rich rich in Mercy he made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions It Is by Grace you have been saved and God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the Heavenly Realms in in Christ Jesus in order that in the coming age he might show the incomparable Riches of his grace expressed in his kindness kindness to us and how is that expressed kindness in Christ Jesus in what Jesus was willing to do for us when we share in the Lord's supper and we partake these emblems it's just so important that we don't go through it frivolously we don't just quickly partake and not think about what we're doing and that's why we have meditations like this we want you to take some time and just focus on the cross on Jesus death for us on the grace that allows us to be forgiven so this morning not only focus on the cross but if you haven't thought about how vital Grace is without God's Grace and love without the Forgiveness he gives us we'd have no hope and yet we have hope today as We Gather let's pray our gracious heavenly father and we can say that because we are told of your grace that is immeasurable the grace that covers the sins of not only everyone in this room who accepts you who follows your son as the only savior we know that that can happen to all in the world who will turn to you as we partake of this time of communion these emblems that represent the body of Christ the blood that was shed help us to turn off other things going on in this world and just set aside this time to remember you and your love in Jesus name I pray amen while they were eating Jesus Took bread he gave thanks and he broke it and gave it to his disciples saying Take and Eat This is my body let's partake of the bread that represents his body together then he took the cup gave thanks and offered it to them saying drink from it all of you this is my blood of the Covenant which is poured out for many for the Forgiveness of sins let's partake of the cup now we allow you this personal time use it wisely as you commune with God as you take time in prayer with God thanks for his son h [Music] we like to close out this time with the next verse where Jesus tells them that's the last time he will share this Passover these emblems with them but then he gives a promise that there will be a time when we all share in this Jesus says I tell you I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until until that day when I drink it a new with you in my father's Kingdom that's the promise for all of us to look forward to the baskets will be packed and they'll collect your cups spend a little more time in meditation and we'll continue with the service when the lights come upk you h than [Music] I want to add my welcome to you today to Marshall's welcome to you today so glad that you are here in our second worship service service of the morning some years ago in one of my grad programs I had a course called biblical view of God as Creator Redeemer if you think that uh God being our creator and Redeemer matters give a hearty amen will you please it really really does and this very special Answers in Genesis conference today and tomorrow that our little Park Plaza Christian Church is sponsoring came about over a period of time I guess we were doing Wednesday night bible studies on the first 11 chapters of Genesis and trying to unpack those very foundational chapters and out of that this conference evolved is that okay to say keep your seat speaker he almost walked out when I used that word in the first hour but it really did it just kind of came about we just got to thinking what would it be if our little church here at Park Plaza would plan to have somebody come from the Answers in Genesis Ministry in Kentucky and share with us in a couple days of special teaching on this very significant subject well uh that began to catch some fire and different ones got involved and we've had a whole Committee of people that have involved in the taking care of the resources and doing the work with where we're going to meet and that sort of thing so here we are September 8 and 9 on our Answers in Genesis conference so glad that you are here and have joined us it really matters what you believe about the first 11 chapters of Genesis it really really does and I'm glad that the ministry that we are focusing upon this these two days they they do not look at the Young Earth literal Six-Day creation model as something that's a salvific issue or a Church Fellowship issue but they believe it's a very important issue for sure and there's very good science that attends that that particular position and so we want to make you aware of that even more so and I want to take just a minute to introduce our special guest speaker this morning and then also tonight the College Heights Christian School New Heights Christian Academy will have the chance to hear Brian tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 but then tomorrow night again we'll be together these special sessions our speaker is one of the younger voices in the Answers in Genesis Ministry out of Kentucky and let me just pause here enough to say okay if you have been to the Creation Museum or the ark encounter put your hand up right now several take a look Brian several hands up and others of you are going next year right or we actually have a one of our Couples from the church that there is there this weekend and I thought to myself couldn't you have chosen a different weekend than this one since we brought Answers in Genesis to us but anyway this was their one window and we Rejoice that they can be here our special speaker today is Brian Osborne and he has done his preparation work his Bachelor of Arts degree is from ready Brian college so Brian went to Brian how about that that's good and then he prepared himself with his master's degree at Lee University some of people around Joplin Missouri go to Lee University for the chrisan Youth move conferences there in Tennessee associated with the Church of God Tennessee Branch as far as their religious affiliation goes and his studies consisted of Greek and uh Christian education in those disciplines and biblical studies and uh for 13 years Brian taught in the public school system and he taught Bible History did you hear what I just said okay that's he'll talk about that a little bit but for 20 years he has been helping uh people Christian people know how to defend their faith in this age of skepticism so I I really look forward to him coming Shar he and his wife have two children boy and a girl he'll say a few things about that but would you just now give a nice park Plaza welcome to Brian Osborne please our [Applause] speaker thank you guys very much you are too kind and I noticed as I looked around a lot of you raised your hands you've been to the museum where the arc encounter so I saw who the true Christians were that was good and uh totally joking all right totally kidding um but know it's a blessing to be here with you for so many different reasons it truly is I am from anwers in Genesis but before we dive into all of that I will first show you my greatest Earthly blessings as I just love to do and there they are right there that is my wife Mara of 26 years this past June my daughter Macy who is six and a pure Daddy's girl my son Ian who is 10 and all boy and those truly are my greatest Earthly blessings I just love showing off pictures and just I always miss them of course I'm out so i' just like to reminisce so for the first 25 30 40 minutes we'll just look at pictures of my family so you know I'm gonna enjoy it it's going to be a great time hope you guys enjoy it too uh but uh yeah and then before joining the answers to Genesis as Pastor mentioned I was a teacher I taught Bible History in a public school over in Hixon Tennessee a very unique opportunity that I was just blessed to be a part of for those 13 years and God really used it I think in a lot of ways to train me for what I do now the past 10 years as a speaker for answers to Genesis and a writer I've traveled literally around the globe seeking at churches and conferences it's been amazing unbelievable uh God's grace and kindness to me to get to go the places I've gone to and Proclaim his truth and writing books oh it's hilarious I just finished my third book it will come out in October called woke Injustice deal with critical race Theory and it's funny to me though because if you asked my high school English teacher would Brian Osborne ever write a book she would say no that is impossible this could not happen and so by God's grace there's three of them now oh it's just God showing he likes to use the weak things of this world to show his strength it truly is amazing uh but our ministry answers of Genesis we are an apologetics Ministry which is all about equipping Christians to defend their faith not apologize for it as many Christians seem want to do nowadays but no to defend it by standing on God's word and we do this in a bunch of different ways to equipped Christians as we already mentioned we got the Creation Museum and if you've never been again I'm biased I work there I know but it is is incredible the museum is a 75,000 foot walk through Biblical history as we walk you through Biblical history we're answering the skeptical questions of of this age showing the Bible's true it's right about history and morality and salvation found in Christ alone there's an amazing planetarium special effects theater we got incredible zip lines want to live life on the edge you can do so while you're at the Creation Museum there are speakers every day animal encounters there's so much to do you can spend a good two days honestly at the Creation Museum and I also say this if you not been to the Creation Museum in the last four or five years maybe three four or five years you would really want to come back there's been so there have been so many updates so many expansions so many new things it's really worth another visit it truly is and then that's in Northern Kentucky just like the Aran count we're more known for the arc encounter but that's the life-size replica of Noah's Arc that we built coming up uh wow about eight years ago now goodness gracious where did the time go uh but uh it really is an incredible thing where we show people the Bible's true it was a real boat really big it could hold all animals that Noah needed on the ark and we give answers about the rock layers and fossils and dinosaurs and so forth and so on incredible Zoo you can ride a camel it's kind of bumpy fun but there you go if you want to all right and then just great teaching as you go through different workshops different speakers every day Ken speaks Often by the way at both attractions he's back and forth when he is in town other speakers other PhD scientists different fields different things so many great things you can spend an easy 3 days truly at the arcan counter again North Northern Kentucky so if you're looking for a place to stay Florence Kentucky is a nice Middle Ground get up there there's a airport right by Florence Kentucky if you don't feel like driving I think what 10 hours to get there from here maybe 11 or so take the fight if you can do that but it is worth the investment and I joked with last service and I'll say it again because it's not really a joke for my money it's a lot better than Disney you can go you'll have a great time with your kids and your family you but you'll be encouraged challenged and edified in the faith and it'll be so much more of an eternal impact Eternal impact for for good in their lives instead of what the woke Disney puts forth today just my little two cents on that but in our passion is really about equipping Christians to really defend biblical authority to proclaim the gospel and what I want to do this morning is really just lay a foundation for why we do what we do why we think this is so important not just to us but should be to all Christians and it lay a foundation for us we talk about answers tonight about dinosaurs in the Bible tomorrow night one blood One race about Tower of Babel and all those sorts of things so like foundation for that and I'll start off by saying this we're so zealous for this because we have noticed something happening that I'm sure you've noticed that our nation is going in the wrong direction have you seen that that's not hard to see right we're seeing the collapse of the Christian worldview in America and by the way it's not just America it is the entire Western world where we see this collapse happening but the fact that it's happening here is amazing because we truly are the most christianized Nation the world has ever seen we have more churches over 600,000 churches in America we have more Bible colleges more seminaries more Christian re uh bookshops and television stations and radio stations friends we have more Christian resources in America than any nation has ever had in all of history ain't that wild when you really think about it but for all those Christian resources that we enjoy are we Nation becoming more or less Christian every day and what's the answer man less and rapidly so but actually I would say we're becoming more anti-christian by the moment in these days and actually the secularists have noticed this as well way back in 2009 Newsweek had this as their cover the decline and fall of Christian America and inside they make a very good observation they said the present in this sense is less about the death of God and it's more about the birth of many gods we used to be one nation under God but now we are one nation under many gods isn't that great see how tolerant we are but in truth at a foundational level did you realize there are actually only two religions people say just two just two here they are number one either God's word is your Authority and you build your thinking from here option two reject God's word what are you left with man's ideas in some way shape or form as your ultimate Authority those are your two foundational religions God's word versus man's and what we've seen happening in America has been this foundational shift away from God's word as the authority to now man's word has become the ultimate Authority man now determines truth and of course that's why truth is relative in our culture today because each person determines their own truth and that's why as a culture America looks a whole lot like judges 21:25 that description given when there was no King no absolute Authority in Israel every man did that which is right in his oh nice and doesn't that sound like the culture we live in today and because of that we're seeing headlines like this one drag queen Story Hour brings pride and glamor to libraries across the US for years now by the way using your tax dollars to do so and while at the same time Kirk cam has been blocked from reading his books at over 50 different libraries because his books teach biblical values so for public libraries drag queens yes biblical values no Washington bill to allow medical transgender interventions on minors without parental consent so kids can be mutilated without the parents even knowing it or we're told by the medical establishment don't call pregnant women expectant mothers that might offend the transgender movement instead you call them pregnant people because anybody can get pregnant well according to new ideology they can North Carolina my home state preschool uses LGBT flash cards depicting a pregnant man to teach kids colors using the transgender lbtq flag as well Mattel makes the first ever transgender Barbie doll Coca-Cola holds anti-racist training instructing their employees to be less white because to be white is oppressive and bad and Evil tedex speaker says pedophilia is a natural sexual orientation by the way hear more and more of that nowadays as a redefining sexuality what is good and what is evil or this one 61-year-old woman gives birth to own granddaughter for gay son using his husband sister's egg I will give you a moment and then last one I'll make it stop after this I know it is painful transgender man gives birth to nonb partner baby with female sperm donor I'll give you another moment I could go on you've seen the headlines can we all agree that our culture has lost its mind I think we can agree on that that's easy to see our question is why and I think the way we as Christians really kind of view this question is why isn't the church why aren't Christians influencing the culture like we used to here's what we suggest here's why because the culture has influenced the church so many Christians today have compromised God's word in different areas we've undermined biblical Authority as a result we're seeing the collapse of the Christian worldview that what has taken place has been an attack on God's word yes outside the church that's no surprise but also inside the church and truly that is what's been catastrophic and the fact that God's word is under attack that's not new God's word has been under attack since basically the beginning Genesis chapter 3 when the devil said to Eve did God really say and note what he's doing getting Eve to question God's word to doubt it to reject it and the method was so effective he's used that same method ever since different forms but the same basic attack and one of the primary ways he's done this today and for the last few decades at least has been through the teaching of things like Evolution and eight men big bang and especially millions of years using those sort of secular atheistic ideas that get so many people today to question God's word doubt God's word reject God's word same Genesis 3 attack with a different kind of stealthy twist if you will today he's attacking the Bible's history to undermine the Bible's authority to undermine the gospel rooted in that that Authority because here is the bottom line dear friends we understand this if you cannot trust the Bible's clear history and context friends why on Earth trust it about anything else if the Bible's wrong about history why trust it about morality gender salvation or sexuality either all of God's word is authoritative true and trustworthy or none of it is friends and that is the core issue and that is really what our passion is all about it's interesting the atheists the secularist they understand that a great way to attack biblical Authority is to attack the Bible's history to undermine that Authority and thus the gospel rooted in that Authority give you an example of this I'll show you a clip of this guy he is America's version of Richard Dawkins a very famous atheist he is also an atheist as well and he's a former professor of physics at Arizona State University this is back in 2009 I want you to hear what he says and hear his students and their response and as you do just bear in mind it's just an example of how and where the attack on biblical Authority is primarily happening today the amazing thing is that every atom in your body came from a star that exploded and the atoms in your left hand probably came from a different star than your right hand it really is the most poetic thing I know about physics you are all Stardust you couldn't be here if Stars hadn't exploded because the elements the carbon nitrogen oxygen iron all the things of matter for evolution weren't created at the beginning of time they created the nuclear furnaces of stars and the only way they can get into your body is if the stars were kind enough to explode so forget Jesus the stars died so that you could be here today okay and and anyway great forget Jesus the stars died so you can be here today and I'm not sure really which is worse when you watch that clip the statement as Blasphemous as it is or the response of his students and by the way what he said Not only did the students validate but many of our College professors in America today would have a similar sentiment as that as well but notice what he's basically saying forget Jesus he's not your savior God why he's not your Creator God you are not here because God made you like the Bible says you're here because Stars exploded he's saying this the Bible's wrong about your origin and where you come from it's wrong about everything else either all authoritative or none of it is and he does represent the majority of thought in our culture especially secular education today and this same God said later on at a different conference change is always one generation away he said so if we can plant the seeds of doubt in our children sounds like the devil back in Genesis chapter 3 religion will go away he really means Christianity will go away in a generation or at least largely go away and that's what I think we the intellectual Elites have an obligation to do aren't you glad that he is neutral he's not right and nobody can be we'll come back to that later on but he was right about one thing change is always one generation away we see it in Biblical history over and over again we see it happening right before our very eyes guys according to numerous studies studies for decades an average of around two3 of kids today who grow up hear me in active Christian homes are walking away from the church by the time they reach College age most of whom do not return an average of around 2/3 are walking away from active Christian homes and we wanted to figure out why and what to do about what would be the right response to that so we did a research project with America's research group interviewed a thousand of these 20s somethings now 30s somethings who have grown up in church but since walked away to try to figure out what's going on how should we respond let me just show you two of the major findings first when we ask those who walked away if you don't believe when keyword when did you first have doubts please note it wasn't college is't that what we tend to think with our kids they seem to be fine while they're with us I mean in middle school and high school they go they get kind of crazy but they're still with us right then they go to the secular universities maybe in some Christian universities but then that's when they walk away but they research shows they had all these questions starting way before College in middle school and high school if not before over 80% of them all these questions they all these questions that were not getting answered at least not at home and not at church what sort of questions well the same sorts of questions I heard for 13 years teaching Bible History in a public school working with youth for 20 years in the church in different ways questions like if the Bible's true then where did God come from who made God how do you know the Bible's true how do you know the other religious books aren't right ones and by the way you believe God made Adam and Eve we come from Adam and Eve then who did Cain Mary how you explain all the races if we come from one man and one woman what about dinosaurs in the Bible eight men and evolution does that disprove the Bible aren't the rock Les and fossils millions of years old does that disprove Noah's flood and no how to Noah get the animals onto the ark what about dinosaurs were they on the ark what happened to them where' they go no by the way what about all the death and suffering in this world and car 14 dating a dist Starlight hasn't science Through the Bible isn't the Bible an outdated book of Mythology that is IR relevant to today's sophisticated Society have you heard some of those maybe not that fast if you do I'm I'm sorry I I told last service I practice so I can say that no but we do hear those questions because this I suggest is primarily where the attack is happening today for so many people today not just kids multiple Generations it's a global thing they think the Bible cannot be trusted in this quote unquote scientific age that these ideas have discredited the Bible and then here is the deal and guys this is a gut check for us as parents and grandparents Christian leaders they're coming to us for answers hey Mom Dad you believe the Bible right if the Bible's true what about Evolution what about the adri Earth who did Cain Mary what about dinosaurs in the Bible what about Carbon 14 dating hey Pastor Sunday school teacher what about the eight men and hey how do you know how do you know what marriage is why can't marriage be something different than one man and one woman what about marriage gender and sexuality do we have any answers can you please share answers with me if there are any from the Bible and what has been our general response for decades to those sorts of questions it's been something along these lines something I said for years before God got a hold of me on this we've been saying you know what I don't know about that stuff but don't worry about it just trust in Jesus and please don't misunderstand we want them to trust in Jesus amen amen absolutely but here me when we just say that and we ignore their questions we're actually ignoring their fundamental question which is this here's what they're asking us really why should I trust in your Jesus because think about it the message of Salvation through Christ Alone that message comes from where this book The Bible and hey Mom Dad Pastor Sunday school teacher if I can't believe what this book says over here why should I trust the rest either it's all authoritative and true or none of it is that is the core issue and what the research showed is that though so many of those who are walking away they're walking away in their hearts and in their minds before they ever leave physically for college they're sitting in our pews in our homes right now and they are already gone that's why the book with research in it is called already gone and we asked them their reasons for leaving those who walked away and one of their main reasons for leaving was hypocrisy we said well okay yeah we kind of figured that would come up but can you please define for us what do you mean by hypocrisy and this is what the majority said on their own not multiple choice they said well here's what we mean we grew up in church and we were told in church that this book the Bible is the word of God trust all that it says especially that part about Jesus but then they said we were told really in some way shape or form by Christian leader Christian parent or family member or friend we were told in some way ship or form that we as Christians we don't really believe this part of the book and you can take Evolution eight man Big Bang millions of years you take man's secular ideas you can reinterpret this first part it's not that important just be sure you believe the rest of it and you trust in Jesus and friends they see it as hypocrisy and they should because it is and because that sort of compromise we're seeing so many quote unquote testimonies like this young man's of how I became an atheist I was born born into a Christian family and indoctrinated as uh growing up as a kid that next year was freshman year of high school and I started learning about evolution in my biology class then uh that's where I realized I had never seriously questioned or thought about my religious beliefs so as I learned about Evolution and just started thinking philosophically about it I realized that there couldn't be a God so I became an atheist notice he said he was indoctrinated why because he was just told to believe it not why to believe it just believe it without any explanation as to why given a defense for why he believe what's he what he believed he walked away and the news gets worse before it can get better Generation Z uh they are falling away even more basically the trend is this the younger the generation the less they believe the Bible the less of a Biblical worldview that they have the less they go to church but they are twice as likely as any previous generation uh to Pro Proclaim atheism as their worldview George Bara actually dubbed them the first post-christian generation in America and we could go on but you get the idea we see the trend and Friends Hear Me Maybe many of you like myself for the longest time we had the best of intentions when we said I don't know the answers to those sorts of things don't worry about it trust in Jesus we had some really great intentions but can't Christians have good intentions to still get really bad consequences just like everybody else it's possible right I know this is a very heavy talk so let me give you just a very lighthearted but true example of when Christians had good intentions but got bad consequences let me show you some bad church bulletin titles to illustrate the point just for a bit of fun like this one the peacemaking meeting scheduled for today has been cancelled due to a conflict somebody should have thought that through just a little bit better right or maybe they're being funny I don't know this next one these are all real by the way don't let worry kill you off Let the church help if you're a Baptist I guess it's done by committee I don't know all right at the service tonight the sermon topic will be what is Hell come early and listen to our choir [Applause] practice I've been to some Churches I don't know I'm just saying all right no and then Barbara remains in the hospital she is having trouble sleeping and request tapes of Pastor Jack's sermons poor Pastor Jack right no good intentions bad consequences and friends on a serious note when you try to squeeze man's ideas and compromise God's word with the secular thinking of our age you'll get the worst of consequences even with the best of intentions then also we have seen through our research that the way we teach the Bible is causing many to struggle to trust and its veracity you see what do you mean well so often when we do Bible studies today whether it's in you know Sunday morning SE session or Bible studies Sunday school whatever it might be we tend to say we're going to study this this great Bible story but of course what does the word story tend to mean in our modern language fiction fairy tale not true right and so what people he especially kids when we say story oh we're going to learn a fairy tale today something like Little Red Riding Hood or the tortoise in the hair something with a good maybe moral point maybe spiritual point but not connected to reality and then we show our kids pictures like this all the time of Noah's Arc as an overloaded bathtub I don't know why but that's how it always comes up and of course I've got two young kids I do get the premise that these kids are meant to be engaging or these pictures are meant to be engaging for young kids but kids are so impressionable you show a kid a picture like this does that tell that child Noah's Arc and flood a real event in history like the Bible clearly says or a fairy tale like the world says it just screams fairy tale reinforcing a secular idea whether we mean to or not and again our kids and so many other people have all these questions today they're being bombarded with in our culture today from so many different angles and they are desperate for answers oh give me truth give me answers if there are any they are desperate for them and unfortunately in so many cases when they go to their Christian resources their Christian parents and Christian churches and pastors they are not getting any answers for generations for the most part in the church within Christianity we have not been doing apologetics so the adults the parents and the grandparents we don't have answers and we can't pass on what we don't possess we don't give them any answers either and they're left utterly defenseless against the onslaught of the attack of this age they're not getting answers from home not getting answers from the pulpit about so many issues moral issues origin issues so many issues so where do they go the only other alternative are secular sources so they go to secular sources they go to secular textbooks to learn about the history of the universe Evolution millions of years they go to museums and zoos they go to secular sources about gender and sexuality and marriage being redefined and if you think about it here's what our kids are getting when they go to their sources they're getting apologetics it's just secular apologetics they're learning all the reasons the Bible must not be true and cannot be trusted what are the getting at church stories when you think about it like that dear friends it's not so surprising so many are walking away and that history in Genesis it's not a fairy tale it is real history and it is really important and we summarize that history with the seven C's that Answers in Genesis and I like to say these seven C's they are married can't be divorced and really the first four sees creation corruption catastrophe confusion that's Genesis 1-1 that's the geological biological anthropological astronomical Real History of the universe that lays the foundation for the last three sees Christ cross consummation which is the suffering of the gospel and again these scenes are connected few Qui examples just as it was in the beginning originally a perfect Creation with no death and no suffering and no Bloodshed and no disease someday when Christ returns he will make it perfect again is anybody else looking forward to that right amen and then the corruption because a real man in real history he really did Sin we all really do to send from that man that's why we're all Sinners by nature and by choice and we all need saving through the last Adam Jesus Christ God who became flesh who lived the perfect life that we can never live he died on the cross in our place he paid the perfect infinite Eternal debt we can never pay and then he rose from the grave de feeding death which we can never do he's done all we never could repent put your faith in him alone for salvation but think dear friends we had this need of Salvation through the last Adam because of the sin of the first Adam to whom we were all connected and then the catastrophe the flood of Noah's day was a global righteous judgment on man's sin and there was one way to be saved through the door of the Ark that's a picture of Christ because there is another Global judgment coming the next time it's by fire and it is for eternity and there's one way to be saved Jesus said I am the door if by me any man enter in he shall be saved John 14:6 Jesus boldly declared I am the way the truth and the life no one gets to the father but by me this why when you come to the ark encounter later on and you'll see on the door we put a cross lit up on the door of the Ark picture salvation picture of Christ and then the confusion is a reference back to the Tower of Babel and it reminds us that all people today can trace their family trees talking to someone earlier has an Osborne in their last name as well tracing family trees but all people we can trace our family trees back to no and his sons today every person ever in all of human history can trace their family tree back to one man one woman Adam and Eve more on this tomorrow night but that means biblically how many races are there one the human race and again since we all descend from Adam that's why we're all Sinners and he to saving through the last Adam Jesus Christ a clear connection to the gospel but that first part is not true why trust the rest and someone say okay Brian you've kind of drilled at home I get that but come on buddy it's just Genesis it really can't be that important I would suggest you that's what the devil would love for you to believe because as it turns out every single biblical Doctrine either directly or indirectly is rooted in that Foundation of that history of Genesis 1-1 every single one Genesis is the foundation to all biblical doctrines few quick examples where do we find the origin and definition of marriage thus found over in the Book of Genesis right chapters 1 two and three where do we see the origin of sin and death that's over in Genesis that's why we need a savior right why do we practice a seven-day week where does that come from Genesis Genesis and only Genesis by the way there is no astronomical measurement for a s day week that only comes from the Bible why do we wear clothes I notice that you are and that is good amen amen it's a good thing now that goes back to the book ofis Genesis friends how do we know that every person no matter what they look like what their skin shade is what their accent is what language they speak how much money is in their bank account how athletic or unathletic they are how gifted in music in math or whatever they may be how do we know that every single person has inherit indelible equal value because are made in the image of the Living God back to Genesis where we're made in God's image why did Jesus die on the cross why is he called the last Adam why do we need a new heavens and a new Earth it all goes back to the book of every single time foundation for every single biblical Doctrine you take away that foundational history of Genesis 1-11 the whole structure collapses like we see happening right before our very eyes let me give you two quick examples of biblical doctrines being attacked by attacking that history in Genesis first one's pretty easy to see that is the doctrine of marriage is under assault today and of course I think we can all agree that's easy to see and when Jesus back in Matthew 19 was asked about marriage by the Pharisees he did did something absolutely crazy he quoted the Bible and he said to the Pharisees have you not read I like to say he's saying have you not read your Bible he who made them at the beginning Mark says beginning of Creation in the parallel account he made them male and female so when are there two genders and he said for this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and the two shall become one flesh he's quoting Genesis 127 and 224 directly he's showing that the doctrine of marriage is based on the biology and the history of Genesis being true you become one in marriage why because it's based on the fact that the woman came from the man like the Bible clearly describes cover to cover the woman praise God did not come from the a woman amen men double amen triple amen all right just Rejoice about that no the woman came from the man and guys as Christians we can say to those around us boldly yes lovingly but also uncompromisingly the marriage is to be between one man one woman for life why because the God who made marriage he made it between one man one woman for life friends God made marriage he defines what it is not the president not the Supreme Court not the United Nations God made it he defines what it is and we find that in the Book of Genesis but if that history in Genesis is not true Andor God's word is not the authority then why not redefine marriage and make it whatever you wanted to be which is what our culture is doing right now so people today are literally marrying things like their pets somebody married a robot AI one woman married married a tree true story they said she was trying to Branch out I don't know about that but maybe she should just leave I don't know [Applause] but my wife would be so upset right now but anyway terrible jokes I do apologize but you get the idea biblical Authority when you abandon biblical Authority anything goes I give you another example of biblical doctrines under assault that is the doctrine of death and its relationship to Christ atoning work on the cross is also under assault and this is so important because it is so sneaky we miss it this many times you say what do you mean by this here's what I mean the Bible's clear cover the cover that God made a perfect creation it's funny when the atheist says why did God make the world so broken and wrecked the way it is today the answer is he didn't friends God made it perfect and don't blame the manufacturer for the perfectly good car that you wrecked he made it perfect we wrecked in our sin God warned at him the day you eat of the fruit you will surely what die the Bible's clear it's man's sin that brought death the enemy into God's perfect creation of course the wages of sin is death Romans 8:22 tells us that all of creation is groaning all of creation not just Parts the entirety of creation is groaning in pain why because of man's sin and the consequences from that sin and it's long enough for Christ to return to return the world to its original perfect state which he'll do it the consummation in Genesis 3 we see the first death of an animal after Adam sinned the first blood sacrifice where God makes garments of clothing to cover Adam and Eve to cover their sin and their shame and of course we recognize that's a picture of Jesus Christ the Lamb of God who comes later and sheds his blood to cover our sin and and our shame and most Christians will say okay Brian amen we're with you and all of that but where's the attack you're talking about here it is if we try to squeeze the secular atheistic idea of millions of years into the Bible no matter how you try no matter how good your intentions may be like mine were many years ago inevitably you'll put death before sin and death before sin is theologically impossible for a bunch of reasons here a couple very quick ones first in Genesis 129 and 30 in the original perfect creation God told Adam and Eve they were to eat fruits animals were to eat plants originally all things were vegetarian which I know that sounds a bit weird to us today but makes really good biblical sense because there was no death in this world until after Adam sinned this means you can't eat meat until after Adam sinned because when you eat meat you're eating an animal that has died before sin there's no death all things have to be vegetarian and by the way plants are not alive in the strict biblical sense not until after the flood that God told Noah just as I gave you plans to eat now Noah post flood you can eat everything and this is the reason you can eat a hot dog because it is everything I love telling that joke when there are kids in the audience because kids just like what's funny I don't get it I don't know it's like so just enjoy the hot dog buddy it's all right but why is this a problem here's why if we reject the Bible's clear teaching and its implications that God made a perfect creation but then man sin bringing death into the world and later on there was a global flood that laid down most rockers and fossils we see today if you reject that what are you left with man's ideas what does man say man says oh no silly Christian rabbit those Rock layers weren't laid down by global flood those Rock layers were laid down slowly over millions of years watch this long before man ever existed and thus before sin and in those Rock layers supposedly laid down before man before sin we find lots of evidence of animals eating each other but the Bible says before man sinned all things were vegetarian we find in the same fossil record tons of examples of diseases brain tumors cancer and arthritis and many others but those were around before man sinned the Bible says God looked down all day six before man sinned and C everything very good surely God would not call millions of years of death suffering and bloodshed and disease very good if he did is he really a very good God by the way if we Embrace this in a real sense we're blaming god for death instead of our sin it part of his original very good creation we find thorns in the father the record supposedly millions of years old but the Bible is clear thorns came after the curse they're a result of the curse they are a symbol of the curse that's why Christ wore the crown of thorns he wore the curse on our behalf and then most important of all if you try to squeeze millions of years into the Bible does not matter how you try how nicely you try how good your intentions may be doesn't matter which method Daye Theory Gap Theory Progressive creation theistic Evolution frar hypothesis Cosmic Temple there so many others but they all inevit put death before sin and watch this logically and theologically if there was death before sin that means death is not the consequence or the payment for sin just always been around part of God's very good creation and friends if death is not the payment for sin then Jesus's death does not cannot pay our sin debt and we just undermine Christ's atoning work on the cross whether we meant to or not maybe with the best of intentions and if that were true praise God it is not but if it were it would make this event in history at best unnecessary at best and I think we can all agree that is unbiblical in the highest degree and friends can I tell you just a little secret this is why we care so much I tell people all the time our core passion is not about winning debate about the age of the Earth or dinosaurs or rockers but rather we're defending biblical Authority and the gospel rooted in that Authority that's what's under attack that is what's at stake that's why this matters hear me guys the good news of Jesus Christ does not start in the Book of Matthew and I love Matthew but the gospel starts in the Book of Genesis we cannot unhitch our Old Testaments we hold fast to all of God's word the gospel begins in the Book of Genesis it truly does and some would then say Okay BR then wait as Pastor kind of alluded to before we even began are you saying that for someone to be a Christian to be saved they got to believe in a young Earth and a literal Adam and a literal Global flood to be a Christian are you saying it's a direct salvation issue we are not not at all what's the Bible say about salvation John 3:16 one example right for God loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believes in him and in a young Earth and a global flood will be saved if that's in your Bible throw that Bible away and get a real Bible okay that's maybe from third heresies it's not in scripture No we are saved by grace alone through faith alone In Christ Alone full stop so this is not a direct salvation issue but it is an indirect salvation issue because where does the message of Salvation through Christ Alone come from comes from this book and again if you cannot trust the Bible over here why trust it anywhere else bottom line is the to last service here's the issue dear Christian we don't have the right nor the authority to treat God's word like a buffet you go to the buffet if you're like me I'll take some of the steak some of the chicken not the asparagus sorry and not many greens maybe some potatoes sweet potatoes definitely and then tons of desserts we don't treat God's word like that we either take it all or not at all not just John 3:16 Philippians 4:13 out of context no no no we take it all or none at all that is the core issue and that's why it's so important that we as Christians that we are obedient to God's command to give an answer for our faith Jude 13 to contend earnestly for the faith and I think so many Christians are not doing this because we have bought numerous secular lies one of those lies is this they will say but you can't use a Bible to do science because a Bible is not a science textbook our response is you're right it's not praise God those change every year they do but where the Bible touches on science we can trust it here's what it does for us this is so important to get it gives us the big picture of History to rightly understand things like geology and biology anthropology and so forth it gives us the right understanding of the past that we apply to the evidence in the present and that's so important because we all live in the present right right raise your hand if you're with me in the present just a quick check all right very good pretty much everybody all right think about this question you don't have to answer out loud but just think about it when do fossils exist past a present and if we think about it carefully fossils exist in the present if they didn't we would not have them and you got to realize when you find a bone in the dirt the bone does not come with a label saying hey I'm 65 million years old and I was made in China or Taiwan they don't come like that and of course bones don't talk and here's my point as we kind of proceed to the next section and that is this all the evidence any scientist has biblical scientists secular scientists they've got all the same stuff in the present the same Rock layers the same fossils the same DNA the same dinosaur bones the same distant Starlight all observed in the present but here's the key they interpret those things differently in the present and make different guesses about where those things came from their origin and thus their age rooted in their different starting assump iions about the Unseen past from a human perspective which are rooted in their Different World Views and here's the key if you start with the wrong assumptions you'll likely get the wrong conclusions no matter how smart you may be my story of an elderly gentleman who was sure his wife was going deaf and one night he stck up behind her about 10 feet away and he whispered can you hear me honey he heard nothing he got a few feet closer can you hear me honey nothing he got right behind her can you hear me honey to which she responded for the third time yes I about told a different joke but I thought you guys would let that one better so I stuck with it told a first service too but uh no it wasn't her problem was it wrong assumptions wrong conclusions and Friends hear me that hear me on this there is no neutrality no one's neutral everybody put your faith in one place or the other either you put your faith in God's word or reject God's word what are you left with you put your faith in man's ideas and by the way when you put your faith in man's ideas Watch What Happens you then get to determine you look at man's ideas you judge which ideas you like best you determ truth for yourself you become as your own God a lie as old as Genesis chapter 3 nothing new Under the Sun but friends no one's neutral and we all got faith we all do the atheist has Faith just where do you put it it's either God's word or man's Jesus said Matthew 12:30 either you're with me or against me either you gather with me or you scatter Romans 8:7 the Mind Set On The Flesh it is hostile towards God it is not neutral it is hostile understanding this as Christians we should boldly yes lovingly but uncompromisingly stand on God's word and guys here's the amazing thing when we stand on God's word we have answers and they're really not that hard I tell people all the time that you don't don't need a PhD to defend your faith if you got one that's great use it for the glory of God but you need a Biblical worldview to defend your faith if you do that the answers really aren't so hard couple quick examples you can answer questions like this that scared Christians for a long time now questions like how to knowah get all those animals onto the ark The Atheist ask this like a mic drop but if you just read your Bibles in context it's really not that hard first the ark was big really big over 500t long 85t wide 51t tall with three different levels over a football field and a half in length when you go to the arc encounter you want to wear some good walking shoes plan for that you're going to need that it's a lot of ground to cover it's a huge vessel friends this was not Noah's Ark do me a favor if you see one of these pictures in one of your kids books blow it up get rid of it yeah and then also probably the biggest issue God brought to Noah two of each land dwelling air breathing animal according to their kind and the word kind in the Bible for the most part is equal to about the family level of modern day classification so what this means practically is that Noah did not take foreign pairs of dogs on the ark he most likely never saw Chihuahua or poodle in his life as I'm sure you can understand he was very blessed all right he took two of the dog kind and two of the elephant kind and two of the horse kind two of the major kinds of animals taking just two of the kinds of land delling everything creatures they fit with no problem on that massive boat and then we should connect the flood to geology if there was a global flood as described in the Bible we expect to find billions of dead things buried in rock layers are laid down by water all over the Earth and friends what we find are billions of dead things buried in rock layers laid down by water all over the Earth in their features scream a rapid recent formation not long slow gradual processes amazing confirmation in paleontology and geology the Bible is true and there was a global flood not that long ago and someone say but I thought took a long time to make a rock layer not at all water dirt minerals right conditions you can make rock layers really quickly few recent examples in nature here's a ship's Bell encased by Rock here's an ancient clock encased in rock here's a spark plug and rock of course those things are not millions of years old or maybe some of you remember Mount St Helen erupting back in 1980 and from that minor eruption by historical standards to produce Rock layers lots of rock layers huge Rock layers laminated Rock layers all sorts of rock layers it made these Rock layers get this in hours we just watched it happen right in front of our eyes it made Canyons like this one nicknam the mini Grand Canyon because it's 140th the size of the Grand Canyon with similar features to the Grand Canyon very steep wall side Barbed Canyons very little debris at the bottom of the canyon it formed this Canyon in 9 hours we just watched it happen great observable testable repeatable scientific evidence it doesn't take a long time to make those sort of structures what you need is a catastrophe and if you want bigger Rock lers and bigger Canyons like found around the world on a global scale you need a bigger catastrophe maybe like a global flood described clearly in God's word someone say but what about fossils I've been told my entire life they take a long time to form actually no fossils typically need a rapid process to form you got to bury something deeply and quickly to protect it from scavengers and decomposition few examples of this rapid process here is a petrified ham a ham that turned to stone with no relation to our founder kenam all right but turned to stone in less than 60 years after being buried from a volcanic eruption a petrified ham where is a fish this fish is fossilized in the act of eating another fish this was pretty much instantaneous and by the way it's not uncommon we find a lot of fish fossils like this but this poor guy did not get to finish his last meal that's why I personally call this fossil the Last Supper it's a bit edgy I know okay all right here's an iosaur fossilized in the act of giving birth and you see those creature right there coming out the birth fossilizing the very after to giving birth and does not take millions of years to give birth again pretty much buried instantaneously and then more details on this tonight we talk about dinosaurs tonight at 6:00 that's a great talk don't miss that one fun time but we're finding again and again in dinosaurs we're finding soft tissue from dinosaurs still intact in their bones and it is their real tissue it's these soft tissue still left over still stretchy and pliable and that tissue should not last hundreds of years after the creature died maybe thousands of years no way Millions it's a great confirmation of the biblical time scale and we can keep going on with that but what about social issues we got answers there absolutely if we just stand on God's word we can answer questions about gender and identity that our culture is so confused about nowadays and our culture is confused amen and guys we have the answers but man they are confused on Amazon the other day this is a real thing somebody selling a shirt that dogmatically claims there are more than two genders you bigot add to the last part but this shirt is offered in only two genders like if you don't cry or if you don't laugh you cry right it's so funny and sad at the same time no our culture is confused no doubt about that but friends we do have the answerers that we can share in truth and in love go back to Genesis once again again foundation for every biblical Doctrine how do we know who we are well because God tells us he made man Mankind in his own image male and female he created them men and women uniquely and equally display the image of God so are we different oh yeah praise God that's a good thing but are we equal in value yes because we're both equally made in the image of the Living God and guys biblically you cannot separate your biological gender from your gender identity your sexuality or sexual orientation it's all one thing and God made you the way he wants to make you God assigns your identity not the doctor this is reaffirmed throughout scripture Genesis 5:2 he made them male and female Leviticus 15 male or female Matthew 19 male and female Mark 10 male and female it's repeated throughout scripture why because those are the only two valid options he made them male and female and guys God made us he made sex he made sexuality he made our gender and gender roles he made them on purpose they're part of his creation for his glory and our good if he made you a man he made you a man on purpose for his glory and your good and the good of those around you is you obey him and seek to follow his will if he made you a woman he made you a woman on purpose for his glory and you're good he does it perfectly guys he's our maker he knows how we work best and when you're born your gender is not assigned it is recognized how God made you according to his will and science beares this out for example Genetically speaking every person e is either XX or XY why because that's how God made us according to his word literally your gender stamped on every single one of your cells can you m can you m mutilate your body take hormones to manipulate your body to make it look certain ways sure but you're still a male genetically and even physically you're just mutilated male we cannot change that God makes you he def you we should trust them and all that and then someone say but then Brian but what about you know there's some you know chromosomal abnormalities that cause problems within sex issues in a tiny fraction of the population isn't that a good argument for transgenderism no number one it's a tiny sliver of a sliver of the population who has these problems number two most people struggle with transgenderism do not have this number three why do we have these abnormalities well because the mutations where the mutations come from the curse mutations break all sorts of things and cause all sorts of problems that you see on the screen behind me but that doesn't make any of those things on the screen normative or part of God's original created order and someone say okay but then Brian you're missing the big picture here's the main point they're making today it's what I hear all the time but I feel different I know physically I am this I'm a male physically but I feel like a girl therefore doesn't don't my feelings Trum the physical reality shouldn't I abide by those to be my authentic self self shouldn't I follow my feelings what's the answer to that you guys got it ahead of me yeah here's my answer I word it this way same answer I word it this way Disney is wrong you say what do you mean well every Disney movie basically says this in the end follow your heart follow your feelings follow your heart the Bible says this following your heart is a terrible idea your heart is deceitful and wicked and broken who can know it we can't even our we can't even know our own Hearts we're so broken by sin you see sin broke everything it broke the world it broke us it broke gender it broke sexuality we're so broken by sin we can't perceive ourselves wrongly so broken by sin don't follow your heart follow Christ your maker and Redeemer and savior put your faith there and guys since we all descend from Adam we're all Sinners and we're all broken by sin in various ways and that's why we all need saving through the last Adam Jesus Christ and hear me dear friends who are watching this if you're struggling with this at all salvation and fulfillment will never be found in autonomy never that's not how this works it won't be found by following your heart you will find Salvation and fulfillment by submitting to your God and maker and your savior the one who made you and knows how you work best and died for you to redeem you from the sin and and the Brokenness that you were in don't follow your feelings don't follow your heart follow Christ and guys please note that answer is not that hard it's really not and I will suggest to you that the darker our culture gets and the more Brokenness that results we'll have more and more opportunities to share this good news for those who will be Longing For answers we have them what will we do with them but if we just stand on God's word and equip ourselves with Biblical glasses that biblical framework stand on biblical Authority we can defend our faith and guys real science real observations in genetics and paleontology and geology and so forth confirms the Bible's clear history again and again in many many Vivid powerful ways and also I'll quickly say this as you think about these two worldviews God's word versus man's this is not a battle of two equally weighted worldviews they're both the same Empower just different tents one's blue one's Orange this is actually a battle between man's broken sinful worldview corrupted by sin and between the worldview of God that we get from his word and God's word acts like corrective lenses I don't know about some of you but I have really bad Vision I've had bad Vision since I can remember when I was in Middle School I could read the chalkboard by doing this anybody else remember doing that I don't know I did it the way I just kind of squeeze my eye in the corn you I made so I can see the light but I have very bad I can't see far away and I remember getting glasses for the first time when I was 10 years old and walking outside and the whole world came alive because up to that point I couldn't see past my hand past that everything was a blur and then I walked out and there were leaves on trees flowing in the wind I could see rocks on the ground I could see all these details I could see that blob was a car not a deer it was amazing for the first time in my life things made sense why I had corrective lenses and God's word is corrective lenses for us we all have a spiritual sight problem called sin it fixes our vision to see things rightly and that's why we'll see real science confirmed in the Bible all the time but fundamentally this is a battle between God's word and man's that's what it really is between biblical Authority and the authority of man's ideas between the only two real religions God's word versus man's word your only two foundational worldviews a battle as old as Genesis chapter 3 either you trust God you become like your own God but what we've seen in summary has been a foundational shift away from God's word as the authority to now man's has become the ultimate Authority man is redefining truth and now we have multiple generations of people both outside and inside the church who no longer build our thinking on God's word we're seeing the collapse of the Christian worldview so what do we do there is an answer I'll summarize with the two with the castle diagrams I kind of iconic to aners and Genesis Ken's been using these for a long time I joke with Ken uh I was born in 1977 he gave his first talk in 1978 he've been doing this for a long time U but he's been using this for a really long time but they make the point so well the cast on the right represents Christianity built on the authority of God's word the foundation of the authority of God's word and that Biblical history in Genesis 1-11 and all the biblical doctrines and the gospel that make up the structure of the castle this is Christianity Castle on the left represents secular humanism the idea that man can determine truth and the moral relativism that comes from that worldview that we see so dominant in our culture today and note a couple things from this picture that I think are really accurate to the world we live in today first note that the humanist driven by the enemy whether they realize it or not are being very clever today they're not focusing their attacks on particular doctrines like the deity of Christ or the Virgin birth now they'll attack those things but they won't focus there they have focused their attack on that Foundation of biblical Authority in particular that history of Genesis 1-11 foundation for every single biblical Doctrine because they know that once this Foundation goes what will happen to the rest of the structure it'll fall they get that and then note the Christians you'll recognize some of these people some have no idea what's going on they're doing their own thing over there somewhere some are asleep they just have no idea what's going on some are fighting each other over typically trivial things like you know I don't know what color should the carpet be in the church how do you brew the coffee for Bible study dark or light I submit the answer is dark while we talking about this everybody knows dark is better all right and then of course there are actually unfortunately many right here who are saying you know what we don't need Genesis 1 to 11 we don't need that foundational history maybe God used evolution in millions of years don't worry about that stuff just trust in Jesus by the way that was me many years ago but those who say that today are actually helping the enemy to destroy their own Foundation whether they recognize it or not if you look really close the guy this picture has on a suit and a tie and we did that on purpose there's a reason he represents the majority and I do mean the vast majority of our pastors Christian leaders Seminary and college professors who are compromised to one degree or another on this issue undermining biblical Authority training the coming generations of leadership to be undermined as well and when there's a miss there's a fog in the pews more compromise more confusion and then I think most of us we really connect with this guy right here we look out to our culture and we see all these social ills and we say to ourselves man I got to fight against these things and yes you should and truth and in love but as you do please recognize this fundamental truth those things those balloons up there they are not the problem they are the symptoms they're the symptoms of the one real problem a l loss of biblical Authority in our culture today and for the time and money we've put forth as God's people fighting those symptoms is it working we're becoming less Christian every day right why isn't it working well because in a real sense what we've been doing is this we've been playing checkers but the enemy has been playing chess we've been attacking symptoms he's been attacking the foundation of our faith and the faith of our children in the coming Generations you see by just by just attacking these symptoms and ignoring that foundational issue of authority and in real sense all we're trying to do is to christianize the culture in some cases without Christ just make it more christiany but we're not told to christianize the culture we're told to go and give a defense to contend earnestly for the faith and to preach the gospel and to make disciples teaching all that God has commanded that people might get saved through the power of God's word and the spirit of God working through us and when people's hearts are changed that changes their thinking that'll change their World VI that can change a culture but we are losing this quote unquote culture War because hear me we are fighting the symptoms and not the source so what is the solution in a word stand oh dear Christians stand on God's word take every thought captive make it obedient to Christ and understand as you engage the culture today this is a battle over Authority and we cannot defend biblical Authority by abandoning biblical Authority we stand on God's word and as we stand on God's word we have answers equip ourselves and the coming generations to know what we believe and why rooted in God's word from the beginning then we'll have answers that deal with the symptoms of the problem by going to the source only by standing on God's word can we effectively defend the faith and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ in the world we live in today and please hear me the answers to the problems of our culture it is the gospel amen amen gospel always has been the answer and it will always be the answer but hear me that gospel stands on the authority of God's word which begins in the Book of Genesis and friends that is why this matters so much and as I told first service that is your introduction kind a long fast one as to what we do why we do it why we care so much about this defending biblical authority to proclaim the gospel effectively and really our main passion as much as I love talking about this and I do love talk talking about it and sharing this good news our real hope is that you'll be equipped to share these answers where you're at in your spheres of influence few things I highly recommend number one our website obeying God's command to equip the coming generations to stand and defend their faith where the attacks are happening today and it is a challenge but it's a good challenge one that we need and then we answers and by the way it says and parents too it truly is all of our content really is so media it's kind of good for everybody it's a great book for the whole family on this issue and if you're like okay Brian that's all well and good but listen I just need like one book can you give me the best book in the ministry I can do that the name is quick answers to tough questions it is the best book because it is my book that's my standard joke but anyway but hopefully it's a good resource uh and that gives you short answers each answers less than 500 Words through 33 different questions about science and the Bible it's very short it's very Snappy very add friendly easy to read for ages 9 to 90 very flexible on that and so this one covers all the kind of the science issues with short concise biblical answers I wrote a second book on the social issues giving me short answers to those as well same sort of format short answers to issues of Life equality sexuality and environment so biblical answers to abortion uh social justice climate change transgenderism lgbtq stuff all those things short concise biblical answers to those sorts of things and you can buy them both they like4 or $15 a piece or you can do got one other special which is two for 20 you can buy two books two for 20 if you would like and get all the answers and then I'll give you guys a special plug uh as I mentioned right before I got started I just finished a third book it's called woke in Justice a Biblical response to critical race Theory and for various reasons I've been motivated to write about this by God's grace just finished the book it's coming out in October so about a month from now it'll be on the shelves and so uh I look forward to how God can use that and I think it's a it's going to be it's a very important book for the time we live in whether you realize or not the Marxist idea of critical theory is dominating our cultural landscape uh redefining all sorts of things and turning them towards an anti-biblical perspective and their kids many of them have been captured by this IDE ideology that permeates permeates our culture how do we give a Biblical response and so we do so in the book and many of resources as well then I'll mention in our magazines we wrap up here a really phenomenal resource comes out quarterly four times a year we got really three separate
