A Deep Dive Into the 2024 Alabama Crimson Tide

Intro as the Kalin deor era begins in Alabama there's a lot of questions about what this program is going to be 2024 is here and we finally get to answer some of those big questions today we take a deep dive into the Alabama cerns and tide and see what we should expect from dor and the staff before we do that though make sure subscribe to the channel like the video share the video it goes a long way in helping this channel this has been a really fun series to do and we're nearing the end we have our top five teams here that are going to be college football playoff contenders and Alabama is one of them and theor is expected to Coaching Staff do a lot of exciting things when you look at his previous stops at Washington you look at his stops at the division 2 level he's had success everywhere he goes and people just expect him to do the same thing in Alabama and that's probably as good of a hire as you probably could have made when you're trying to replace Nick samon obviously that's going to be difficult and everybody's talked about that so we don't need to dive into the importance of that really excited to see how kayn dor handles this new challenge I think at his previous stops he's taken over programs that didn't realize the ceilings they could have hit and he brought them there Washington was one of those teams I think that this was a Washington team that didn't expect to play for a college football national championship but Kay deor brought them there now the thing that's going to be different here is Alabama expects to be there Alabama expects to win national championships and and kin war is not going to bring them to a height they haven't reached yet so that's a different challenge for him but I'm excited to see how he handles that and what he's able to do to make his mark on Alabama football this is an offense that wasn't as good as they probably could have been and now you give dor who's a brilliant offensive mind the Reigns to this offense that has plenty of talent and you also have a defense that has Elite Talent at multiple positions and Kane wac should be able to take over and do a lot of good things with that group this is going to be a really interesting time for Alabama football it's kind of a weird time I mean it's going to be weird when Nick Sabin isn't running on the field with this team it's going to be weird for a while but I think that's okay I think it gives kayin War some Transfer Portal time to make his mark on Alabama football and continue winning football games now the transfer portal took a big hit on Alabama's roster he had 40 players to part through the transfer portal some of them bigger names guys like Caleb DS that was a bigger loss Isaiah bond is a big loss you also lost certain players like Amari nblack you lost royell Williams you lose guys like Julian S who could have been a future quarterback for this team but this staff did a really good job of bringing in certain talented players to take over for certain positions you get Ken Proctor back from Iowa that was kind of a weird situation but you get him back you bring in certain Washington players that follow kayin dbor you bring bring in a guy like Parker braford you bring in Jeremy Bernard the future quarterback potentially and Austin Mack so he brought in some really good players from that Washington Squad dman Jackson was a big addition the former fstar Corner could play a big role for this team LT Overton coming in from Texas A&M so you brought in some some good talent you don't feel too bad about the guys that you lost some of them are you know you're not going to replace a Caleb DS but you feel pretty good about where this program sits in terms of talent that they brought in versus the ones that they lost also the ones that they retained and one of the biggest QB & RB retainees is going to be Jaylen milro not that he was planning on going anywhere but he is going to be really fun in Jaylen Boris system when you look at what jayen milro did last year this is a guy who was getting high votes and that was in an offense that I think a lot of people thought wasn't as good as it could have been and you give him a coach in Kalin dor and you feel pretty good about where that program can go in terms of their offense Jaylen milro is electric with the football in his hands has a very strong arm as we've seen you just haven't seen maybe the touch that you want to see from him some of those intermediate throws where you need to put some touch on the ball or or make an accurate throw you just haven't seen that now I don't know if kayen War can turn him into that kind of quarterback but if there's a CO that's going to do it you feel pretty good about what Ken bore can do jayen milro is is obviously electric super fast runner so you're going to see a lot of exciting things in the rushing attack as well so this is a sta that's going to find ways to get the football in his hands and let him do a lot of explosive things make a lot of explosive plays and that's going to help this offense tremendously this offense it revolves around around Jaylen milro and you're going to see that on a frequent basis and I trust kayin dor and what he's done at his previous stops to do the same thing with Jaylen milro I mean there's again you're making a good hireing kayin dbor because you feel like you have a good offensive mind that can utilize some of the talent that maybe wasn't utilized as well as it could have been in the last couple years Justin Haynes and jam Miller figure to be a really good tandem in the backfield relatively inexperienced in terms of production but you have plenty of talent you've seen what they're capable of doing you just haven't seen it on a consistent basis and I think that milro Haynes and Miller are going to be fun in the back field again this is a staff that knows how to get their guys involved and they're going to find ways to run the football and be creative in that obviously opening things up with the passing attack will do wonders for this group as well and OB a lot of that obviously is on Jaylen Milow and what he can do to find his receivers down field but you feel pretty good about the rushian attack and what it's capable of doing milro should be a Heisman finalist this year if all goes well if everything goes as expected you're going to expect Jaylen milro to be in New York when it's all said and done but behind him you have Ty Simpson who had some experience last year the quarterback position was kind of really weird at the beginning of the year and Ty Simpson got some experience just did not look very good but he is still going to be that second string aamac is definitely going to attempt to take over that second string they really like what they have in Austin M they brought him with to Alabama so you feel pretty good if you are an Alabama fan and the staff likes what they have at quarterback position Richard young is a young player that could also be part of the running back rotation so again that rushing attack feels like it's in good hands specifically with Jaylen Miller running the show but you also have some options again Alabama has recruited really well over entire Nick Sabin era they're probably going to do it again even with kayin deor running the show now the passing attack like we WR & TE mentioned before that is something that's going to be circled that's going to be under a spotlight for a while and a lot of it is going to be on the quarterback but there's also some relative unknowns at the wide receiver position you like the talent that you have coming back you also bring in jmy Bernard like we mentioned before a guy who had a a solid impact for Washington was not one of the Trio of big names that was Romo dun Jaylen pulk and Jaylen McMillan but he is someone that is ready to step up and show that he can be a big part of this passing attack you also have Kendrick law and Kobe Prentice two potentially explosive players for Alabama again kayin dbor knows how to get Guys open so you don't necessarily need a certain body type because as you can see you don't have a ton of Big Frame players in that Trio that are going to be a reliable jump ball threat downfield or a vertical threat but you do have speed that can change things both vertically and horizontally on the field Ryan Williams is the Freshman that everybody's been trying to pay attention to he is someone that expects to be a part of this rotation this staff is going to get him involved he's done a lot of good things in Fall camp and he's going to be a part of this passing attack as well an electric player one of many freshman that we're going to see at the wide receiver position in college football this year that's really exciting if you're fs and Tide fan and that's really exciting for the future of this program you have a wide receiver that could get some really valuable time early in his tenure and that's only going to help him get better he's going to learn a lot from the guys around him you're going to see a lot of exciting things from Ryan Williams and he could be a starter by the time the year has ended Emanuel Henderson is a new guy that will be part of this rotation as well Cole Adams you're gonna try to find depth behind that Rio and Ryan Williams I think that after that you're maybe hoping someone can step up but I think for now you feel pretty good about your four options that you have available to you and you can kind of just ride with that CJ diay is back 187 yards zero touchdowns as a tight end I'm excited to see what he can do in this new offense he gets opportunities obviously to Showcase his talent a little bit more Josh quas comes in from Washington so you have a couple options at the tight end position I don't know how much this staff plans on utilizing the tight end in terms of passing attack but you do have a couple options in terms of different formations ways to get Guys open that's going to be really exciting the offensive line plays a huge role but OL you feel really good about what you have returning Kaden brocker like we mentioned left Alabama in the off season came back after transferring to IA and is going to be the left tackle he is a really good talent and someone who got good experience as a freshman now obviously there were some bumps along the way but you feel pretty good about what he brings to the table he's also 67 369 pounds a massive player that is going to have a major impact and it's good to have him back Tyler Booker returns as well a solid guard for Alabama in 2023 and should be the same in 2024 Parker with braford we mentioned before coming in from Washington a very talented player who could be at Alabama for a couple years we'll see how he handles life in the SEC after playing in the Pack 12 last year but started all 15 games for Washington at Center so that's a huge player a veteran player who understands what this offense needs and he is going to help Jaylen Miller a lot as well Jaden Roberts has a bright future in the NFL people are already talking about him as well again you have four guys already that we've talked about that have NFL Futures so it's just a matter of who elevates their stock the most in this system not only does kin deor System benefit the skill position players it's going to benefit the offensive line This is a group that's extremely talented and has plenty of options at their starting group so you feel really good about what this team could be and how that impacts the offense now the right tackle position is still up for grabs Elijah pret could be one of the guys wilin forby is another one those two will battle up well into fall Camp maybe even through the season we'll see what both of them are capable of doing behind the starters you don't have a ton of experience the part of that is when you look at what these guys did last year you had players that were healthy and that's a good thing for Alabama I think a lot of people love having that kind of Health on the offensive line so getting that type of talent back maybe doesn't concern you as much in in terms of the experience in the second group but you'd like to see them obviously get involved a little bit more if you can because then if not next year you're going to be facing a brand new offensive line which could be problematic but you know one or two of those guys could also come back so it's still in a good hands if you're Alabama your offensive line is set the starters are full of studs so you feel pretty good about where this group is headed now the defense is going to be a fun group to watch this was a group that was a little bit more consistent in terms of how well they played last year and that all starts up front now Alabama has a DL very interesting scheme in terms of what they call positions you have the banded position you have the wolf position so you you know you have different guys that play more of those hybrid roles you also have a husky position that dor brings in with him so we'll we'll see what this group looks like but it's again a group that's extremely talented and full of options so it's going to breed competition and that's really good John Mar and leam is going to play the banded position at least get the start so you're feeling very curious about what he brings to the table it's going to be his first time in a bigger role for this team so we'll see what he's capable of doing on the edge has pretty good size at 63 278 pounds and that's one thing you're going to see with Alabama you have guys that are just massive and that's going to be good for you to play in the SEC you have plenty of players that can handle life in the trenches and blam's going to be one of them opposite of him at the wolf position is Q Robinson 6'5 241 lbs hopefully a little bit more on the explosive side a little bit quicker 24 tackles two and a half tackles for loss last year so he's looking to take his game to the next level as well the interior feels like it has really good depth Jem Otis is GNA get the start at nose guard I think behind him is Tim Smith so you have two good options there Tim Keenan is back after a solid season behind eldri Hill is looking to take on a a little bit bigger role for this defense at behind the edge players you have LT Overton we mentioned from Texas A&M he will definitely get plenty of time so even though here now he's listed second on the depth chart he is definitely goingon to rotate in with leam and get just as many reps as leam as well qua rousa is another guy to keep an eye on the W position behind Q Robinson so again it's Alabama you're going to have plenty of talent you're going to feel pretty good about every position that you see here and you're feeling pretty good about what the defense brings to the table this is a group that finish 33rd against the run so if you ask Nick samon that's definitely room for improvement I mean you can ask this current staff too that's room for improvement you can find ways to get better stopping the run is going to be a huge part of every defense and Alabama really wants to do that as well the linebackers are extremely LB talented the death just might be a little bit of a concern Deontay Lawson is back after a solid season 67 tackles five and a half tackles for loss theod Campbell 66 tackles four tackles for loss that's a good tandem both of them I think are have NL Futures so you feel pretty good about that linebacker position feels pretty set but again the depth behind them is probably going to be that question now Lawson and Campbell are natural Playmakers I really like how they play they play the game fast they have a knack for making plays and it's just going to be a matter of can they stay healthy the entire year because if not you're putting in someone that does not have a ton of experience Justin Jefferson Jeremiah Alexander combined for seven tackles last year that's not a ton that's not a ton of experience and you have to find ways to get these guys in and so you're going to have them rotate in that's going to help with the longevity of Lawson and Campbell throughout the season but you also have some concerns about are those guys ready for the spotlight you also have a couple freshman behind them so are those guys ready are you bringing in talent that can step in right away and heat there's a lot of questions about that suddenly but if you trust what Alabama has done you trust that they brought in the right types of players it's just a matter of do they fit into Kan wix's system do they fit into what Alabama's looking to do in 2024 those are going to be the big questions but the linebacker position again feels like it's in in good hands because of the starters you have returning the secondary is kind of the Secondary same way you bring in some Talent from the transfer portal and you also have a couple guys returning that are going to help with the transition to a new staff Malachi Moore is back for yet another season he is the veteran of that group the other guy that's returning in the starting lineup right now is Devonte Smith which is just wild that they have two Devonte Smiths so close to each other at Alabama but Devonte Smith is going to play the Husky position he's going to play a a bigger role for Alabama this year Malachi Moore obviously has played a starting role for a while for Alabama so that's not really new Keon s comes in from Michigan that was a really good ad by Alabama there to get him to play one of the safety positions that was a good pickup by them deani Jackson didn't have the best time at USC but I think this staff feels like they know how to get the most out of him he's already got the starting spot locked up and he is ready to prove why he was a former five star and playing a defense that can actually get stops for for once so that'll be a new experience for him Deshawn Jones could be one of the other starters at corner that one is kind of up for grabs who wake for his transfer had a pretty good year for the Demon Deacons last year 37 tackles three interceptions so he knows what to do when the football is in the air and saavan Brown is going to push him zaven Brown is going to make his life difficult because he's such a talented freshman and he's so good that they expect him to compete for a starting spot right off the bat so that's going to be something to keep an eye on that is a position battle to watch if you are an Alabama fan because the safe or the quarterback position is going to be so important to this team and this is a team that expects to keep things the same expectations have not change because the best coach of all time is gone and this is a starting group for the secondary that is talented but after that you have some inexperience that maybe causes some concerns but again with how well Alabama has recruited you almost kind of mix those concerns in terms of those aren't really worries anymore so you bring in a guy like King Mack that could play safety could play the Husky position you have a couple freshmen that are going to play bigger roles sophomores that could step up as well so the future of of Alabama football is very bright it's just that maybe you have some concerns right away with the transition I think the unknown of the season is exciting for most teams but the fact Nick sain is here is always going to create some tension some uncertainty and I think it's just give it some time let kayin debor do as long as he's going to try to be himself which we've already SE him kind of do with the his office that's kind of one of the things that indicates that he's not trying to just erase Nick Sabin but he has to do things his way otherwise it's not going to work you're going to waste your time if you're going to try to be Nick Sabin kayin dbor is trying to be kin dbor now the schedule for Alabama we Schedule have nine and a half wins as is the overunderwear for Georgia so there shouldn't be any looking ahead there shouldn't be any let Downs there but again there's it's early in the season so we'll see what happens there Georgia obviously is a very tough game and Georgia expects to be in the Nationals championship contention so that's a tough one there a little bit easier stretch at Vanderbilt and South Carolina those are two games that should be winnable for Alabama at Tennessee is going to be very tough so that's another challenge Missouri we'll know if Missouri is actually a legitimate Contender this year or not at this point in the season with Alabama hosts them then they go to LSU another team that we'll find out if they are legit or Not by this point in the season you get your typical Elite challenge of playing Mercer that is just still always funny that the SEC has just that November FCS slate but that's obviously a win at Oklahoma should be a win Auburn is always Auburn that's going to be a a tossup game there because of rivalry so when you're looking at this team 12-0 is definitely cealing I think that they are very capable of beating everyone on this schedule I'm not going to say it's easy but I think 12 and0 is definitely possible 111's probably a little bit more realistic just because having Georgia and Tennessee on that schedule makes it a little bit even if you're playing really well 11-1 is definitely a possibility but 12-0 is definitely on there the Jordan game obviously is going to be the toughest one there but those are all teams that they can definitely beat if they're playing really well and if kayin abore simply has his mark on this team I I think that eight and four is the floor realistically I think that maybe you could even say that's a little bit higher but you know Wisconsin is definitely an unknown right now we will see Al the fact that it's before the Georgia game makes it a little bit interesting and it's on the road so that'll be interesting to see we'll get a good statement from Alabama about the legitimacy of their campaign Georgia's obviously a losable game that Tennessee is a losable game if Missouri and LSU are actually legitimate those are games that they could that could see some potential struggles and then same thing with Oklahoma and Auburn I think Oklahoma's going to be better than a lot of people expect but we will see what happens and we will see what Alabama Alabama has in store for us in 2024 it's a new beginning for this team it's a new era and it's going to be fun to see how they enter that new era and what they have in store for us this
