Wimbledon Day 8 - Djokovic booed at Wimbledon OstaPENKO POWER is back, Morgan Riddle vs Zverev

why we are globally recognized as as as tennis players is because of the fans because of the interest that they uh put into watching tennis matches paying tickets queuing to come and you know so I I respect that I try to acknowledge that and I said on the court you know all all the all the fans the true tennis fans that really respect players and of course I mean you're going to support one player or the other I mean it's so you know obviously solely up to them I mean and it's it's fully understandable that they you know uh have the freedom to choose who they who they back in in the match but you know if somebody steps over the line I I I react and so uh that's basically what it was you know after the match I said what I said please take your seats quickly ladies and gentlemen thank you hello ladies and gentlemen welcome to tennis weekly with Joel Kim and Chris on today's Wimbledon day8 catch up jovic Cruzes past runer in straight sets AAR penos sets up a quarterfinal clash with Kika and Taylor Fritz stuns Alexander Zev in a comeback fep [Music] win Kim Chris today is the 8th of July and we are here to catch up on day eight from Wimbledon at tennis weekly HQ the rain has been pouring as usual in sw19 but we've got our final set of quarterfinalists in the men and women singles novat jovic Alex deor Lorenzo MTI Taylor Fritz on the men's side Elena reaka Elina Selina barbora Kika and yena osta Peno on the women's side we'll also be providing a Midway update on our collector set Wimbledon 2024 very much looking forward to that but guys we're all here we're all back at the Championships once again to take in the Delights this time of some round four for action and I've just got to say it's just a shame we're not able to to record outside on the balcony on the media balcony we've had to make do with a a little small room with a lot of stagnant hot air it's a very hot room it feels like a saer it is a bit of a saer it's a bit sad it's like we're the Australian Open yes I think if this is what Australian Open is like I'm not going to be going actually sorry it's more like New York cuz you know I have been to all of them and I know that New York is more of a humidity atmosphere whereas Australia is more of a dry heat oh wow now we know well this is very much than a US Open room this is a very meteorological opener to the podcast I we were on the roof yesterday that was lovely we went up there but alas we cannot allord on the roof together and now we're in the underbelly of Wimbledon it's not a glamorous podcasting life always is it no not at all and uh there's no biscuits to go of my tea and I really need some about 11: p.m. I'd love some biscuits no where are the biscuits where are the biscuits tennis weekly budget doesn't fun them but um we do have lots of tennis to talk about and uh I mean you heard at the beginning we heard Novak jovic talking about his match with hogar Runa jokovic did come through in straight sets today actually quite a comfortable match we thought this could be a bit of a banana skin for jovic uh would you say this is his best match of the tournament so far well I mean Kim I'm going to have to stop you there cuz I want to talk about what happened at the end I really want to talk about that comment that he made he got the violin out it was very dramatic he also um accused the crowd of being disrespectful he said he been doing it for a long time and he knows that when they are making that Runa noise that sounds like a boo he knows that sometimes it's runer related and sometimes he believes it is being disrespectful and I think it is that Center Court crowd who've had too much to drink they're not at the cricket they're not at the D he siding with jovic I can't I actually do you know what I don't think I can actually buy it I think I just think they're saying Runa I think that I think it's an excuse It's a bit like a Vu Vu where people just got a bit too into it you know it's distracting I think on cult there is a level of respectability that you should behave with and I think that they aren't they wouldn't be shouting as much if it didn't rhyme with a boo I don't like the Chan I think it's a bit silly I mean I know that's his name and I'm not having a ag his name but I think you know you could just shout come on hog girl or something like some people were doing that I think yeah like Chris has said people join in with it they've had a few beers maybe come in on the resale It's The End end of the day they've had a nice day out and then they kind of yeah joining in I don't know if it's like active disrespect but I certainly think yeah there would be an element of oh yeah this is a bit of a different chant oh we feel a bit naughty doing this um but I don't like it as a chant personally I'd rather it wasn't a thing well what about if it was in Paris this is what I'm thinking if you were to say that to the crowd in Paris imagine the response you'd get and this is no Parisian crowd this is just a few people getting a bit too into chanting one person's name so maybe we've taken a bit out of proportion because it is Wimbledon there is tradition you know what it's quite funny as well because I actually was in a similar situation earlier in the week because um the Andy Murray Jamie Murray men's doubles when suker came onto the court I actually had a friend message me afterwards saying why why are they booing when uh you know Andy Murray's on the court and I had to clarify they're not booing they're just saying sue for suea I thought that was because hogar Runa turned up as well r as well I'm just it's it's it's I'm just by names that don't make it sound like you're booing it's got to be right crowds whenever you're watching a name that sounds like you're booing whether it's a Runa or a Sue or a rude got to go with the first name I just think yeah like why would you turn Sue into Sue I think that's silly but I don't know I mean I don't yeah it's it's it's it's a debate uh that some people will we won't have to have it again will we unless they play again in another tuna is out um or should I say hogar Runa is out do is that mean we have to say his name like that every time okay but jovic let's talk about his form his best match of the tournament by far I mean I had been avoiding his matches for a couple of rounds because I was so concerned by his movement in that Jacob Fernley match where he did look very tentative and he did look like he was pulling out with some shots every day that goes past he's getting stronger and when he was asked on court afterwards did say that he felt really good out there and he felt like he did it felt very normal it felt like a a very rudimental uh J of this is what we're doing now we're just going to have to find adjectives even if they don't make sense I think that's the move well what I will say is I thought he did look very good out there and the stats do back that up I guess my question Kim is this a statement win for jokovic does this put him in the category of oh actually I think he can go on and win The Wimbledon title here or are you still thinking needs to show a bit more in order to get into that category if I were a betting person and I'm not I would put money on him to win the title but then I have you know predicted him you already have predicted that but I haven't put anything Financial no we don't we do not condone that we absolutely do not but if if someone wanted to then I would say yeah like he's not been talked about in this fashion I think everyone's been going about C alcaras but what I saw from jovic today was much more like the old jovic the the seven time wimbl Champion he won the first 12 points of the match I think that set the tone and I mean I wasn't really that impressed with hogar Runa today too inconsistent not at his best you could tell there's just a golf of difference between them for me I what is it about hogar Runo and and the trajectory that he has been on certainly over the last couple of Seasons because his record against top five has actually gone from 17 lost one to 17 lost 11 I found this stat on social media quite a big change around the result you know there's going to be fans out there who might not even be surprised by the you know by this fact Chris what what's happened with hog garuna we're expecting more from him jovic was expecting fireworks well jovic said he was actually well I mean I can't remember the exact words he describe it but essentially said that his opponent Huna didn't play his best um and I think that's very strange to hear that but I think everyone was agreeing with that people did try to get into the match but hoger and his form hasn't been there ultimately there's been a lot of change in his Camp a lot of bad decisions made by his Camp um you know I think now he's in a situation with the moglu academy where there are consistent people around him but there's been a lot of turmoil and I think during that period he had a lot of losses to players that he wouldn't have lost to last year and the more you lose the harder it is to get that win Patrick morlu not with him in wimon today and actually Joel you spoke to Patrick we have an episodes coming out next week I think um one-onone you know you and him so I mean maybe you've you've spoken to Patrick more than hogga has lately well yeah cuz he's not been in his box at Wimbledon but you know speaking to him about uh Runa today he spoke about how so far this season it's almost been a reset to get him back to a level where he feels that he is much closer to Sinner and alcaraz and it was quite interesting I think you know earlier in the week last week Runa was talking about Chris I know you're going to hate me for saying it a new big three of c alarz and Runa and I feel like this match just shows that there's still a lot of work to be done there yeah but Joel please put up penny in the jar in the metaphorical jar I've now put another another pen it has gone in um those will go to your biscuits uh tenis tennis weekly biscuit fund chocolate digestives I hope well they'll be own brand um they will be but ultimately I think when it comes down to the results and the big three side of things I think aspiration is we talked about I like the ambition but I do think he says he sees a lot of potential so much potential even I think that's what's the most frustrating points where it could have turned and it didn't and that was a bit like the Arthur Feast match against Alex De man in the sense that there were points where it could turn Fe was up a break he then won a set but it just never quite changed and I felt like the difference between that match and the jovic match was that ultimately jovic closed the door Feast managed to get through the door for one of the sets but I mean it is just that younger Generations are not necessarily able to get it done it does take time and I know and I was you know was at the the deor feast match and I feel like the biggest opponent was uh what was deo's ankle on that match point because it was a very strange situation where domor made this incredible uh volley winner um to win on Match Point but he did something with his leg and all of a sudden it went from you know whooping and hollering and and and celebrating to domor sort of limping um doing a handshake and then going to sit down and it all became very subdued very very quickly he did aay fears in the in the um on court interview afterwards where he said I'll be all right but I did kind of Wonder you know it's there's no doubt now going to be sort of injury kind of concerns over him going into you know his match against novakovic yeah because that's really yeah the worst way to win a match isn't it potentially injuring in the process no it's very um you know it's ups and downs in very you know one moment we've had it didn't we have a match point injury for her catch as well well that was but he was losing he lost the match didn't he well he had to retire from that but things have been happening at very very interesting times when it comes to injuries we've seen very unusual things I've been at three retirements now in less than 24 hours uh including um well we'll get on to Ken Sky later but Madison Keys yesterday and um grigor dimitrov so I felt like I I was bringing a curse upon players uh this morning but who were you watching today though you were watching neither of them neither of them slipped over however there was the curse of Kim did not strike no that's true there was um a a question mark over Sasha Bev's knee though because he was sporting a Novak jovic esque gray sleeve on his knee um I think afterwards he came out saying you know he wasn't moving well he wasn't able to run for things like the knee was playing up and as the match went on you know he was struggling um because it did go five and he was two sets up and yet again he lost from two sets up Taylor Fritz um Zev is kind of known now for having these leads and losing them yeah French Open Australian Open now Wimbledon he has lost in five sets and it's quite interesting because he's not only lost in five sets he's lost from winning positions you know he was um he was two sets to one up on alarz I think he was two sets up on meddev at the Australian Open two sets up on Fritz here yes Chris what is the issue with Zev in terms of you know these matches being able to kind of hang with his opponent But ultimately not being able to get the job done I think it is mentality it does really come down to not being able to keep too much of a level head in those key moments and we've seen it he does get stress he does make errors he does kind of shank the forehand and the serve can go off the boil in the key moments even if he's winning a lot of points behind it in those key moments he can't rely on it but I mean also maybe something that played an impact on this was that he did say that there was something happening in the crowd and this all kind of came to light at the hand handshake and maybe this was something that put him off and could have caused the turnaround for Taylor Fritz in some way um and we can hear what they said about um what was the thing that went down at the net no no um I mean me and Taylor we we grew up together right uh playing each other since Juniors and um I think it was fairly obvious that that I wasn't 100% Today right um you know I wasn't I wasn't moving really the entire match I wasn't running for Drop shots or if I was running for drop shot I was limping there more than than running but um and then towards towards the end I mean the I thought from the from the fourth and fifth set I was really struggling to serve as well to to jump off on my leg and to create some power and um his his team his team is extremely respectful I think his coach uh his Physio and um also his second coach they're they're extremely respectful but I think there are some other people that maybe are in the Box um that are not maybe from the tennis world and not maybe from particularly you know watching every single match and they were a bit over the top but um that's okay there no no issues no uh no drama um he fought back from two sets of love so they obviously all excited all very pumped up um yeah but but no no issues with Taylor I think Taylor is is is a great guy and um I have I have absolutely no issues with him it's funny because in the Encore interview um Fritz was asked you know what was said at that handshake and the interviewer sort of implied oh you know you're having some lovely words at the net but actually it seems it wasn't lovely words um it was it was aggro well there was no issue between it sound there was no issue between him uh you know player to player it was more his box and it sounded more like people outside of the tennis world and this is cause people to think and speculate on who these people outside the tennis world might be and Chris you spotted this cuz you're you Eagle eyed on on social media Morgan riddle posted now deleted posts yes the cons the conspiracy theory is growing it is growing but having said this there was part of that quote we've just heard that said not uh maybe from particularly watching every single match they're a bit over the top so I'm thinking it could be Morgan's friend now the plot thickens But ultimately the friend did also appear in the videos that were being posted that were Morgan still had a say though she did have a say so she did say doing it for the girls it was in reference to the allegations we assume but she did not name him um so very contentious they are now deleted which makes me think that either the tournament in her official capacity here is what is her role head of style at Wimbledon potentially yeah well I didn't know this she yeah so for our listeners Morgan riddle is like on the books effectively of Wimbledon here accredit I don't know yeah there must be some sort of I don't know if there yeah you can't be you can't you can't play the role of Staff but also play the role of you know being in in in the players's box so you can't really antagonize another player I guess in that way so I guess that might have been a Maybe Taylor said put it down but either way lit up tennis Twitter tennis Instagram um and whatever they say we will never get the full answer no they're going to I think remain somewhat diplomatic and uh maybe talk to us in in riddles perhaps yes but I mean Taylor Fritz was good today you know he won eastor he is on a run of match 69 winners yeah I mean he's eight consecutive GRC wins now and he is through to another quarterfinal here last time he played the quarterfinals here he lost to raford didn't he in that that epic match of course yes so he'll be hoping to go one step further he will be playing Lorenzo MTI in that quarterfinal MTI won through he was out on court too today but came through the lucky loser uh Giovani and P car who was you know going on a a run of his own here um but yeah MTI coming through in four sets jovic on his way to the media theater oh and we've just seen that jokovic is on his way to the media theater if anyone uh picked that up um we've had the announcement come through uh so that's that's he's a bit late isn't he he was supposed to be about half an hour ago what he's been keeping the the Press waiting I'm glad we didn't wait for him I know we would have been here all night um but yeah what do you think of masetti reaching the quarterfinal job but you saw him at Queen the finalist so any thoughts on this MTI the Grass Court specialist this was not a sentence I was expecting to say this season but you know having you know having watched some of his matches so far you know this tournament um yeah he's been fantastic I think he's been much more focused which I think you need in in best of five set tennis particularly and I think that's been one of his kind of weaknesses you know over the years that you know he's been on the tour is that you feel like you're always going to get a chance with him and um you know today the longer this match went on the more and more I say he stayed calm um he stayed fresh and he was dealing with the the parar serve very very well perard only won 67% um of first serve points so it just shows that he was doing well on his return to get that ball in he plays a lot of variety as well he might not necessarily have the biggest serve but he certainly covers that backhand Wing very well um with his slice so I like how he's not just got massive weapon and relying on it he's got some variety there he needs to do some point constru ction and it's working really well for him it is and I have to say I'm I'm haven't got much to brag about from the women's side of things because my pick didn't even take to the court in fact two of my quarterfinals quarterfinalist predictions didn't take to the court I did have MTI for the quarterfinals the only one of us that did for that one so I'm going to take that I did think he'd play against Fritz and I have said he'd lose to Fritz so I might be sticking with that but it's a day that I can finally just say I didn't get everything wrong I do enjoy the fact that MTI and Fritz they're meeting in the the quarterfinals in 2024 they actually played each other in round one 2022 so how times change uh Fritz won that in straight sets I believe so uh hopefully Miss MTI will be hoping for a bit of a turnaround but um yeah it's crazy to think how things can change in such a short period of time indeed and let's take a very quick break uh now but we'll be back in the second half to look at all of the women's action from day eight including the 2022 Champion Elena Racha setting up a quarterfinal Showdown with Alena Felina plus we'll be giving our Midway update on collector set so do not go [Music] anywhere I think I'm probably more confident and more mature in the court this tournament especially and I I kind of know what I have to do and I'm doing it quite well especially in like deciding moments I'm just doing the things that I have been doing before like when I won French Open and when I was back in top 10 so yeah I feel like I'm doing those things better than before I mean I have the ability to hit the ball hard so why I shouldn't use it that was yena ostapenko who has made her way through to the quarterfinals penko power is here she's back I mean the last time we saw her maybe playing this sort of tennis she won the French Open in 2017 she was looking very very good I mean she you know I was watching the match against Putin you know she was just leathering the ball she went up like three love within like seven minutes or so the first set was over in a Flash and she is just kind of steamrolling through this competition she's not dropped a set yet I think the most game she's dropped in one set is is three um so she's a real force to be reckoned with at the moment she is and unfortunately I mean so often is the way you have a standout result like put into the did where she played some unbelievable tennis but it's so hard to keep that level up especially against a player like ostap Peno that gives you no rhythm she can completely hit a winner or she can hit an unforced eror but it's not often on your racket her matches and I think that in this one ptin wasn't able to kind of weave the web that she does the crafty shots weren't working no and um maybe that love affair with grass might be over for this season it's funny because you you think about it and you think you know is Shion shion's game is so different to ostapenko and ostapenko doing well here rakan are doing well here Kika doing well here they've just it's just a completely different I feel like style to what Shion does and it shows that maybe her her style is not as suited to the grass as some of these other stars we see and although you know osta Peno can be a bit hit on this at the moment she is she's just she's just hitting it all the time does she have the mentality to do it again I think we've seen in 2017 one of the things that was so impressive was that she was coming coming back from almost from the brink especially that final against halip so many thre set matches that she turned around um but she hasn't been tested that's true and what will that mean when it comes to this like do you think Kim that you need to be tested at around probably before the final otherwise it could go a bit pearshaped ideally I mean unless you we have also seen on the other hand people just steamroll their their whole way through a you know a grand slam it can happen but um Oso has reached the quarterfinal here a couple of times before and so it doesn't necessarily mean once she gets to this stage she's you her dead sirt to to go all the way and she will be playing barbora Kika in that quarterfinal because Kika came through against Danielle Collins Danielle Collins though quite injured heavy straing on her leg that that happened in the in the in the second set um I wasn't really sure what happened I didn't actually see it but she called for a medical timeout and um yeah barbora Kika was playing very very well she was holding her serve a lot easier I think than Danielle Collins was Danielle Collins was really fighting just to just to kind of keep um keep that first set going as as deep as it did um but Barbor Kika player not a lot of people are really talking about who I think she got to the quarterfinals at the Australian Open this year went out in in round one at the French Open a surface that you know she she's she's one on exactly on the on the Parisian clay um but she's really making a go of it at Wimbledon this year she is but she hasn't really shown any form particularly on the grass I think where has it come from then I think think maybe she's just a big tournament player that she does tend to Peak around those tournaments even if she doesn't have the form because coming into this I mean she lost first round to Fernandez that's a tough draw Fernandez obviously made it to the final in East born she had a couple of wins over in Birmingham but she went out to poova pretty comfortably as you say the French Open early defeat early defeat Strasburg so she and she didn't start until I think Danielle Collins to be fair the same as well but she didn't start till like the third the third day of the tournament you know she was almost like playing catch up from the get-go not a not a nice situation to be in no and she's playing doubles Duty as well so I think she's um getting a lot of time on the court and you know people who've done it before you talked about ozeno always dangerous because they will have that belief in those moments and today unfortunately for Danielle Collins we do have to say she will not get her Center Court dream and that's the sad thing for me about this and I think we'd all predicted her to reach the quarterfinal I believe so yeah bit of a shock one here with Kika coming through k ostapenko um they last played I think Birmingham last year Anda won that one so I'll be I'll be curious to see how that one go oeno leads the head-to-head five 52 so what's going to happen in their what their eighth match together let's let's wait and see but they are a quarterfinal lined up the other quarterfinal we have lined up after today's fourth round action is Elena reak against Elena Felina um just a note on Rebecca first I was at this match and unfortunately for her opponent an Anna Kalen Sky she had to retire the Kim curse in the second set yeah the I'm sorry I'm I should you know personally AP explain what the Kim curse is because you have watched was it three matches within 24 hours and they've all retired yeah three players can you name the players uh Madison Keys grigal dimitro and Anna Callen sky right Kim you're not you're barred from watching any more matches on the show courts I don't want I don't want the Kim curse to strike again well unless it's not one of our favorites we could do it that way send Kim to the matches to eliminate the people oh my God now I sound like some witch with like bit plotting the tennis hit woman or something um but I mean Ken's got broke to love in the opening game she was a break up I thought oh this could be bit spicy but then Rebecca you know broke back um Ken's guy started having some treatment on her kind of um forearm and shoulder and then you know she went to breakdown in the second and called it a day so it must have been pretty bad I mean what was causing Elena Rebecca a trouble to begin with was it just a slow start was did Kalen Sky come out all guns blazing um what was it that that seemed to seemingly unsettled Rebecca at the start of the match yeah I think um a bit of a slow start from reak some very clean hitting from Kalen skara and you know out out the blocks quickly um but then Rebecca you know kind of started reading um her game and got the break back just kind of eased it into the the life on Center Court which you know we know she getting used to it again she hadn't played yet on centac Court and I think she talks about sometimes the nerves that she's had previously and I attended a rebeccaa press conference today and I have to say she gets a bad rap for no reason because she does answer the questions I think that she just doesn't necessarily want to give people more than um is necessary so yeah it's quite a considered response but she doesn't expend too much energy doing it fa enough and we can hear what she thinks about the fact that A lot's changed since 2022 and she feels different now well definitely I changed a lot I got much more experience and uh I think before uh going further in the draw I was pretty nervous uh in 2022 uh but now I feel just more confidence uh playing match by match and uh uh it is different but at the same time uh when you go on the court you still nervous a little bit but uh uh I think now with all the experiences I I just enjoy much more on the court and uh if I'm nervous it's just the first few few games not like it was in 2022 uh when I play against on on and it was full set when I just couldn't manage my emotions I was too nervous and then slowly slowly I started to feel better well she will have Alina Felina next because Felina came through out on court two today against xinju Wong straight set 62 61 55 minutes 55 minutes this was Wong who beat har in the last round that was pretty much like the the the the amount of time we had of dry weather I feel outside so uh quite I feel like fortunate and I think fiina will be breathing a s of relief that she was just able to get that match finished in a in a clean conis of Victory um that did not take too long it's also the last match you'll have to play on an outside court and I think that everyone will be pleased because now they know their matchs will happen when they're scheduled um and that does make things a lot easier I did watch a little bit of this and then I popped off quickly and then by the time I came back she'd won blink and you miss itent the form was brilliant I think she's really just picked up steam ever since that on bwin and I think the memory of last year and potentially not a missed opportunity because it was a great run but I really do think this has a special place for her here and as we've talked about um previously on the podcast she is playing for more than just herself she's playing for a and I really think in these moments on this stage it really does INSP her to do some really magical things yeah she was very emotional on court at the end of black ribbon on on her top yeah there's been a a hospital struck uh overnight I think uh in ke so very um horrible scenes emerging from from there and obviously very much playing with that in on her mind you know as she always is these days um in terms of reaca in in the next round they do have a level head-to-head two and too but Rebecca I did beat Selina at the French Open just you know last month so I mean we've got I mean I'm still going to go Rebecca for that one she's former Champion even though Selina has been playing really really well I think Rebecca has probably maybe had had tougher opponents and I don't know I mean I don't think stin was necessarily tested too much today yeah no I don't think so um but I think it's going to be a very compelling matchup the fact is it's two all in the head to head their matchups have all been very competitive so yeah looking for forward to that guys let's move on to collector set we have got a Midway update to bring our listeners everyone collector set is when we announce six players and we ask you to predict how far they're going to go and if they get to the final are they going to be Champion or runnerup the person with the most correct answers situation at the moment well the situation for tennis weekly as actually don't no don't don't talk about those Hors well maybe do Chris is the only one of us that's got any of them right so far oh god really out of the three of us we have one right answer youve got a Saka rhyme it's not looking good listeners please don't listen to us um but we do have C on Al we're going have to create like three sh slam we're going to have to create three slam spoon of shames at the moment that's a bit of a tongue trist isn't it we do have three don't we I think I have all of them at this point oh god oh no but in terms of everyone who entered collector set thanks very much we do have a couple of you on two correct answers so special mention to um Eric nebby Top Spin lobber Michael get Andrew Colin and Damen Jones you're both on two correct answers but at the moment we do have an outright leader and that is Muhammad on three correct answers um so U Muhammad's uh I think Twitter handle is m asr1 so thank you so much Muhammad you're still in at the moment on for victory but there's all to play for with c and ALR to come um and unfortunately yeah no one got Jack Draper right for Jack Draper we all thought he was going to do a lot better than he actually did sadly I don't think anyone was expecting him to to lose out to Nori but hey ho that's what happened that's tennis that's Li and uh guys finally day nine order of play Let's look forward to tomorrow Center Court Yanik sinner versus Daniel meddev in the men's quarterfinals followed by Jasmine palini versus Emma Naro in the ladies quarterfinals and then number one Court Lulu Sun donovic Carlos alcaraz versus Tommy Paul it's predictions time which court would you want though I'd quite like Court one that's a good ticket alcaraz Paul for me that's the match of the day disagreement I'm I'm going to say you know you know what I'm going to say I'm a I'm a queen's guy I'm a Center Court guy I'm going to be Cent Court okay well in terms of the results I think sin's going to get it done do we all agree on that one I think so how many sets I think four I always say four at this point I think the match that I really don't know o and three the match I really really don't know is palini versus Navaro because they're both playing so well palini and three I think nvar might get it well I will tell you Patrick moglu earlier I asked him who his next first time slam ladies there we go um actually he did say for the men it was hogar Runa of course he would of course he would but for the ladies he said Emma Navaro so there you go I I'm going to side with Patrick I'm going to go Navaro in two okay and Court one uh Sun veic what do you think the Sun is setting I'm sorry guys the Sun is setting Donna veic is winning that and I think it's going to be in two sets she's got great history uh you know with wimon and I'm I'm expecting her to make the semi-finals well for me the Sun never sets on court number one I think that she's that's because the roofs on all the time true I have no idea what time of day it is in there so I think that probably um Sun's going to get it's like a casino in Vegas isn't it you just don't know I'd spend so much money if I was still in there just you know on the slot machine but the final match we have to talk about is alcaraz Paul this is hard to pick so Joel you're going to be put on the spot first alcaras in three I don't think it's hard at all really I think it's going to be five sets Paul interesting maybe alcaras in four me Paul in five I don't I hope Paul doesn't beat alcaras I've got nothing right so far I should be impartial but I do hope alra wins I am hoping for some quick and clean wins for yanx S and caros outc so we can get the semifinal we all wanted the Wimbledon poster wanted um yeah I really really hope that does happen but we're going to end it there our day eight catchup listeners I hope you've enjoyed our latest episode of the tennis weekly podcast
