morab versus sugar Shan is just around the corner and I happen to catch some sparring this morning of Omi getting ready for this main event at UFC Nosh I think that's how you pronounce it anyway we're going to break down the sparring footage and talk about what he does in his offense that is so fantastic so [Music] unique today we are speaking about omi's offense what makes him so spectacular the unique things he does and if you guys are looking to up your offense make sure you join my wait list down there or up there my waight list for my upcoming offense course getting on this weight list is going to allow you to have some big savings so just very simply sign up and when the course launches in Fall 2024 you'll be one of the first to know you can jump on be a part of the live calls which are going to happen every Thursday so Ali and his sparring session what do I see we have six things in particular that when I watch this footage I go this is going to be a problem from morab or potentially this is where sha Ali shines the very first thing that I note is his friend kick it's stabby very very pointed it's long it can win people very easy and most importantly when he comes out of it he generally shifts back with that footwork it's like he kind of shuffles up and he shuffles back but right away he's set to throw his follow-up punches so that front kick is not only dangerous by itself but it's also dangerous in the sense if you're moving forward you get hit you decide to continue forward go for the takedown he's already into his punches that is something very unique and something very dangerous for his opponents now of course we've got to talk about Al Ali's cross the way he throws it how he maximizes range because even in a spiring session we see him do exactly what he did to Elaine Sterling just backing up and throwing that cross in and he does it so technically wrong in the sense he actually lets his arm completely drop and he's very exposed but we'll talk about how he makes that a nonissue in one of the future points one of the things which I note on this cross is he's very often punching from quite low but he maximizes range you might think okay his arm's out here so I can't be hit cuz I'm 6 in away but he tips his weight forward and he takes the shoulder and launches it in front you can see the range difference here between this and this he gets way past that and that's why his arm ends up dropping but again it's not an issue for him because he takes counter measures to make sure those shots that might come back at him are not going to be an issue something else I like seeing in Old Mali is these micro pauses which he takes he'll throw a couple shots and then instead of taking a big big pause he's right back into his next punches so it's not okay I'm throwing four punches in a row or I'm throwing two punches with a pause it's kind of one two one two and those micro pauses are difficult to deal with because he has that footwork to work in between but more importantly he's taking in data during that time he hits he hits and then he's going okay do I need to back out or can I move right on to my combo these transitions are spectacular and they make timing him so hard now the distance with his head that he can create post punch makes him so hard to counter so as we were talking about before he throws that big cross but so often when he finishes he just pulls his head back out and it can be at any point he can be here touch a jab and he'll pull his head back he can be going for a three-piece combo or sort of flowing through those fast Transitions and pull his head out that post punch pullback which he had has is so great makes him so hard to hit and because of that long range then he can be hitting people keeping them at Bay and then pulling that head out of the distance I think it's one of his greatest attributes now next up I want to touch on his footwork his ability to hit a couple shots and make these little micro adjustments or to be able to back up and still throw punches this all comes down to the footwork and even in a short sparring session with very limited Clips we can still see how he employs these micro adjustments through his feet to maximize his range his transitions his ability to put a hurt on somebody but at the same time keep himself safe it's all very impressive and the final thing that I want to touch on is his ability to be so fluid in his transitions so it doesn't matter if him doing if it's him doing something like double jab front kick drop spinning hook kick sorry spinning sidekick something like that for so many people it would be more like double jab front kick and then they'd come to their spinning Sid kick but he does it all tap tap boom as soon as his foot touches he's into the next technique and that is difficult enough to do in pad work or in bag work but to do it against a live opponent it's impressive to be able to pull off those smooth fluid Transitions and it's something you won't see most Fighters do it's probably one of the reasons that he's so good as a highlevel striker those smooth transitions between legs and hands so there are six things that om M shines up which we were able to see in his sparring as he preps up for morab are you going to be checking out UFC this weekend I definitely will be I'll be doing some coverage on it putting up some videos of all the best moments at this UFC event it's going to be one of a kind at the sphere I believe uh in Vegas only once apparently they're doing this going above above and beyond I've never
