Has Paul Sewald pitched in his final closing situation for the Arizona Diamondbacks?

I think that we have seen Paul SE Wald close be brought in to close out a game for the diving backs for the final time I you know I was in favor of giving him another shot a lot of people weren't uh we've talked about the probation period that he was on right I think after today's utter disaster he couldn't throw a strike it the balls were so far out of the strike zone his confidence is shot he doesn't have any there's nothing on his pitches they had to pull him from the game and bring in Ryan Thompson what was a 5-2 lead was 54 and a tying run was on third base and a winning run was on second and Thompson had to come in and get them out of it because Paul seaal failed again and capped off what has been an absolutely miserable July for Paul sea wol yeah look there you're not going to you're not going to find any disagreeance over here from this side of the oan community Studios it it's it's time it's time and I've spoken many times about having Paul seaal on probation and you know we we kind of started the month with talk of him being on probation we ended the month with talk of hey you know if it happens one more time you really got to pull them that was a disaster that was a disaster and you and I were in here watching it together in the studio and it was really obvious from body language and just watching it go down he was not confident in throwing a strike he knew that if he put it over the middle of the plate it was going to get smashed and he knew it the minute he gave up that double to ab's like oh boy I and then everything else it was outside outside outside inside inside inside he would not throw it over the plate cuz he knew yeah and that shot confidence you can't have that if you're Tory lell you can't I no listen we we all should feel bad for Paul seawell do you looked like he was going to cry when lell took the ball for him and then they showed him on the Dugout steps cheering on his team but you can see the tears in his eyes because you know it's nobody wants this he doesn't want this he he got booed on the he got booed walking to the Dugout the fans were booing him and look I I have no problem with that rightfully so when you don't do well you're going to get booed you getting paid a lot of money you don't do your job you get booed I don't have a problem with it but he's a good guy he's a standup guy and I feel terrible for him but I do think that this is it I think now we have hit I've been in his corner to keep him as the closer I have never wavered from that I've never said okay but today's to day today is the day where i'm saying you've got to make a change at closer because he just doesn't have it we are uh we've got our reporters down there we're monitoring social media if anybody says anything to that effect we'll let you know I I don't know when Tor meets with the media what he'll say but certainly as soon as we get some word on it we'll P of course the question is going to be asked and in all likelihood Tori is probably going to punt on it in fact I'd be willing to guess that Tori will not give a definitive answer today and the next opportunity he'll have to give a definitive answer on this will be when he's on with us on Friday for his weekly visit that might with the off day tomorrow now I'm not trying to write checks that I can't cash here I don't know if that's going to be the case but if Tori doesn't offer up anything today and with the off day tomorrow the next time Tori meets with the quote unquote media is when he's on with you and I Friday afternoon at 2:30 I I I did ask and reported yesterday that if there was a safe situation last night in the game that it would be Paul sewalt and it was the same situation in the game today and it was Paul sewalt so I'm not surprised that that's what it is that's what we reported it was going to be yesterday and it's him today now if we don't get a definitive answer then you probably know that they're going to go in a different direction you've got options yes you've got AJ Puck you've got Ryan Thompson you got Kevin k but you had a 52 game first of all terrific month of July for the Dbacks seven games over 500 right now uh yeno Suarez I think I heard Steve zinsmeister say he could be the player of the month for July with what with what he's done Jake McCarthy wow just such a fan of Jake McCarthy he's betting 294 right now incredible catel Marte Kel Marte continues got another hit today like it's a lot of good things going on for the Arizona Zack Allen got the win pitch terrific six Innings only walked one right only walked the one batter no issues there it's just this closer situation is something that they're going to have to figure out and I just don't know AJ Puck came in AJ Puck came in retired side in order with a strikeout you might want to give him the the opportunity to be the closer next time but you but what you do with seaw wal is something I don't know I mean you bump him down to a seventh inning guy yeah take some of the pressure off of them I would I would suspect that's what you do I mean I think you still want to keep them in you know leverage type Innings just maybe not high leverage type Innings what I what I saw today was the mental confidence eroded because the physical stuff wasn't there because he just knew that fast ball was going to get hit and mentally he lost confidence in it you talk about the month of July and this came from a snake pit um who tweeted this out right after the game the Diamondbacks were 17 and8 in the month of July that's a 68 win percentage which is their best for a calendar month since the first month of the 20 18 season when they started off the year 20 and8 that was tor's second year with the Diamondbacks now before you comment on that bear in mind eight losses five blown saves in those eight losses four by Paul sea Wald and then the Meltdown by Justin Martinez at Wrigley a week and a half ago could have been a near even if you go two and two in the seawall four blown save so you go three and two in the five blown sa lucky wasn't a blown save today second and third for a single and you probably lose the baseball game so fortunate I oh no no no they weren't compe they were so inside they were so high they just I mean he just it was almost like he was afraid to throw his best stuff over the plate yeah that's exactly I felt like I'm you know I don't think that's almost what I think that's what it was they're going to hit this especially after the double which got ranked me and you watching are like oh no oh god oh I know we were in here just like and there's a there's a difference between the radio feed that we're listening to and the TV feed so I went through the octain community Studios and I actually turned all the headphones down because I just wanted to watch nothing against Chris and nothing against Mike they call a fantastic game it was fun hearing the two of them together today that was a real treat but I I didn't want anything to spoil it like I wanted to to experience it without hearing it and boy that was close yeah it's I I agree I think most Diamond Beck fans are going to agree it's done it's it's got to be done you can't do this again can't do this again does I've I've stuck with him right through up until this point but at this point now you you can't you can't have them go out there anymore
