you know it's a fuel saving game now is that is that what super speed going be for foreseeable future yeah I don't know I think so and honestly I would rather it be that way just cuz you guys see whatever the pace picks up the end when you're not sting Fu you really can't pass so um I think I actually enjoy the the fuel because it allows you opportunity to you know burn fuel to to get to the front or say have a shter pit stop I I like the strategy when you saw the hammer penalty this week is that make you smile a sense that hey that's a comp probably going to fight for the championship but his path now to the championship just got significant harder because of all the points he lost yeah honestly I mean you guys probably think that I'd be happy then he got a penalty but no I I I was bummed to see that you know because it's it's a huge you know penalty and um yeah one that can for sure be season you know affect your season in a in a negative manner um you know cuz you got the the 10 playoff points plus he's falling down in regular season so it's really more than 10 um and that goes a long ways so no I mean you want everybody to have a fair shot and it wasn't like at least from what I understand it wasn't like they were cheating it just a it was just a mistake um but you know mistake is mistake and you have to pay for it but uh yeah either way it's it's a bummer for their team and bummer for you know competition I guess you and Chase shared that sentiment is that just a matter if you guys want to be the best yeah I think so um for sure I mean like I said want everybody to have the fair shot of of making it to Phoenix yeah I mean their team didn't do anything 11 team did really any wrong so yeah just uh unfortunate um but you know their their team is so fast that I think they'll be fine but you you can't you obviously have any pickups throughout the playoffs it just makes things tougher and you're always going to look back at F you know moment that could affect you but um yeah just uh yeah they'll be okay I said f is there anything in that situation I know it's team sport kind of thing this is a Toyota issue H and the team didn't do indirectly on this that you know maybe they shouldn't be penalized in this situation or maybe not as severe I don't know I I I don't know I haven't really like I read the penalty I didn't really think about it much more than on I mean coach is supposed coach is trying to figure it out so I I'll leave it up to him um where were you when you you heard the penalty first k um I your initial thoughts yeah it's crazy you know I mean obviously uh it a big oop but um yeah got to feel for them you know them guys him and his team just because it's literally had nothing to do with with them so uh it's a tough one in that situation like you said this has not didn't do anything wrong is there any way that NASCAR could issue a penalty like Toyota or the OEM itself and not hit the 11 team who you know didn't really do something yeah I don't I don't really know somebody else was asking me you know how do why did they penalize them like cuz they didn't know what else to do like it's it was the 11s engine so I guess that's what kind of put him in that spot I don't know that's a really tough one I mean it was obviously an honest mistake because he came forward with it but um I I don't know really what's right it doesn't feel right but somebody's got to take fall so I I don't know how else you do it and it's tough because you can't trash Toyota cuz you understand and plus Toyota is your manufacturer so a guy can't even get frustrated yeah I mean I think if you ask like it doesn't matter who who it is probably everybody feels feels for that us other teams you know sometimes guys get caught with stuff and you're like yeah well you know they deserve it and you you don't feel bad for but in this case I'm sure across the board everyone's like oh this is it really sucks you know um they have a great season going they have a lot of points and a lot of those points just went out the window for something they didn't do as a team so it's a tough one for sure if they had to be penalized would you have preferred a disqualification given who finish second I Hon never even thought of that but um maybe that would have been better yeah I don't know yeah I don't know it's a tough situation for everyone so ha to to comment on too too much when did you learn uh I learned about an hour after it was po I got home I forgot what I was doing but I got home and my wife said did you see the Dy penalty I said no um and I immediately called Adam and asked what it was about but always SM that's the big one what's that what's that organization I we obviously know with and what they you guys yeah I mean it's just uh I don't know it it hits hard because it very easily could have been me right I that penalty could have been on any of our cars so um yeah that's I I I don't know other than it it's it's out of my hands you know and and largely out of the crew Chief's hands I think so uh you know everyone's just got to have faith in each other that that they're going to do the right things there may not be answering this question but as you said it's out of your hands it's out of Adam's hand it's kind of all happens is it fair to put this penalty on the 11 team in that instance then when this is a manufacture thing and you know now again Championship hopes are they they took a shot yeah um honestly I don't know I I don't feel like I have uh the right to speak on that because you know it's it's way up above me it's at the you know the the nas NASCAR level the the manufacturing level so um you know I I don't really know how to answer that sure for the regular season Championship does that change things in your perspective at all um no I I I from from the way I understood it you know it was a pretty honest mistake you know um it was just U if if what I was hearing was correct it was from Bristol can somebody was that accurate so yeah the one place that we were running like half throttle because everybody was scared of tear their tires up so safe to say they didn't need the motor that day but um you know it's uh you know I understand and and you know that that's part of it and um but no I don't think it changes how I look at it for sure I mean we're still you know all battling really really close and uh the points are obviously very tight and uh every Point's going to matter as you come down the stretch regardless of who it is so you know I I hate that because I I want to race Denny I want him to be you know amongst that group because um you know they do a really good job being and his team both and I think anytime that you can you know go head to-head with them and and uh you know outd a team of that caliber it's a it's a good thing and it's healthy and it's uh what we all you know enjoy about about the sport how do you this is custom Patch hats but what makes
