touchdown San Fran Cisco we got to go we got to go um prepare um get better every every week every day every rep truly because we not we're not there yet they they they whooped our ass today and and that's the reality of it and um we got to find a way to get better you know the great teams will bounce back from this and that's what we plan to do there's highlights from the Monday Night Football game game Garrett Wilson's assessment as the Jets had blown out they like that first quarter I don't think they like the next three so much the manag to control of that game in the second quarter and it was over PK no Christian mcaffrey no problem well mcaffrey you never know when he's going to be available he's missed a ton of games I mean it's clear that the Giants aren't any good and now the Jets just seems like the Jets again in the New York area been two teams have been just walk following for years and years now it's only one game maybe they can get it going but they did not look good maybe San Francisco's just that much better I thought pry looked excellent uh just the way he was just moving the ball offensively that carries weight from you because you've always wondered if it's him or the guys around him so for you to compliment him and it is hard to pull apart because he's got really good even with mcaffrey out he's got really talented skilled players yeah and he was getting everybody involved I don't remember every single game he's played just in his three plus years or two plus years but it's just looked he has complete Command of the offense I'm not a I don't like the Phrase game manager I like game controller and I thought that he just controlled the game I thought it was primarily about their ground game not about the passing game but I get your point because in a few kid key situations when they did need to move the ball through the air I thought he made some difficult throws and they on the money yeah and the pocket wasn't perfect and sometimes the guy was wide open but sometimes he wasn't and it all everything was breaking the ners away those last three quarters they punted on their first possession and then scored on eight straight possessions a lot of field goals in there but given the way their defense was dominating the Jets that was fine and shout out to the undrafted free agent Jordan Marson 147 yards and a touchdown that's not a good shout out though because because because it just devalues the running back position even more and these guys aren't going to make as much money why take one in the first day why take one in the second day you down the line always a back there and their success depends so much on whether the guys in front of them open holes and the guys in front of him did open holes and he ran through them it's a nice shout out for him individually but for the position overall I think it weakens their bargaining power that reinforces what GMS have been thinking for the last 10 or 20 years right we'll get a good offensive line and I can plug a running back in and get a productive game in this case a very productive game so best case scenario for the Jets and all those suffering uh longsuffering football fans in the tri-state area is the ners are a Super Bowl Contender and the Jets are a playoff Contender and that's just the gap between the two things I don't know what they are right the other the other story is the Jets are a five- win team other NFL news and a lot of the big injury news around the n fell involved guys who played their college football here in Utah pukaa orm high BYU Rams injured reserve re-aggravated a PCL sprain in his knee uh with the new rules on injured reserve newish the last few years uh he's out four games it was a time injured reserve you love on injured reserve with his own left MCL Sprain and we've heard three four or six weeks but that suggests four or less the team will start Malik Willis at quarterback while love recovers Roma and shouting obscenities I was curious which one of those guys got put on a administrative Duty immediately but they haven't spelled everything out there yet Brown's quarterback deshun Watson has been accused of sexual assault and battery in October of 2020 this is separate from the other uh lawsuits that we've heard about Watson served an 11 game suspension in 2022 the Browns and the NFL not commented on the latest lawsuit DJ PK asbu we're still using today to kind of get get a good feel for for where they're at it's just it's going to be doubtful for this game this weekend but uh we're hoping and you just never know people heal differently and today's going to be a really important day for us to see where we're going to be at BYU coach Kanani sataki announced the starting running back LJ Martin and the top backup inkley rotti are doubtful to play with BYU at Wyoming no timeline for their return but seems unlikely we'll see them in laramy what a huge Advantage the Cowboys have now they told us some players may not play that how can be you even compete you can't do that you can and he did what are they thinking that's outrageous they're not thinking what Kyle Whittingham is thinking that's that's a competitive disadvantage to the inth degree you can't even put a number on it nth that's not even literally a number this is just shocking development that was good did the last thing I I don't think I'm changing my expectations based on the three and0 start because they thought if they were going to get to six or seven wins they needed the three and0 start oh I it increases my expectations yeah I totally am changing you think eight wins now I don't know but it it increases it I think you got to take it a week by- week basis but certainly uh they didn't have a win like this with the depth like this because don't forget these guys went out last week right and colani basically criticized them for saying they should have come out earlier I mean when they were in the second half and doing their thing it they had some stuff there obviously Davis uh was a critical component and then they didn't run the quarterback last year for fear of injury and that wasn't really sl' game anyway but it's clear they don't want rettl to get hurt obviously but they are willing to risk it if that's what it takes to move the ball which is what they did so you can look at it last year vers this year and to me the position that they're in this year is much better than last year even if the record is exactly the same I can see where you're going with that and and I definitely think that well RF is a better Runner than slovis and they've got a lot more confident in bannan as a backup this year than they had as rlap as the backup next last year that's what I said and everybody says hey you're going to the playoffs you got an easy schedule we all hear it and I think we started to believe that there is a a physical approach to preparing for a game and I think lower bar maybe they can clear it win win some games maybe they can't I mean this is the NFL your schedule what's the difference you play who you play you know you're going to play uh six games against your division opponents and then whoever you got and whoever is the AFC east's opponents and so be it I don't really care about the schedule that's that's College stuff because if you're just beating crummy teams whoop-de-doo I mean Zach Wilson did that so how's that proving anything well if you only beat five or six crummy teams it's going to yeah the same it's the same thing yeah if you can beat 10 mediocre and bad teams you they wi seven games last year you go to the playoffs so what's the difference I'm not really I'm not worried about the schedule that that's your thing I this is the professional sports here he's supposed to be competitive in all of the games and they weren't competitive it was clear they weren't competitive and and mcaffrey the NFL MVP practically wasn't there standing on the sideline in Street clubs and and so still got shredded Ricky piol he' just been shot man I'm telling you kids from Tempe he left uh Tempe as a nice wholesome Boy comes back from you can't beat this team I think that that says something and the fact that you can't even really compete with this team says something more this is the only game everybody in the world who wanted to watch football that's who they had to watch there was no other alternative and so you're supposed to be hyped up for this and that and all this stuff matters and that's what you come up with that was atrocious there's no other way to say it I can spin it any other way you want but that was just flat out atrocious that they couldn't come up with a better effort than that and we've heard nothing but the last two three years that Zach Wilson was the problem turns out he's not the problem problem they have many problems he's not the singular problem or he wasn't the singular problem yeah they should be better and they weren't it was awful I condemn them to what for that lousy performance sensing them well it sounded like you were judge sensing well I if I wanted to use the word sentence I would have I condemn that performance that's not a sensing I know my words I studied my English language grammar nice I would used the right word if I wanted to if I was going to banish them to some punting again hey look the Niners just converted another first down right right yeah I thought they'd be way better than that I mean if you're not amped for this game and that's the best you can do in this game what does it lead to I mean I've been expecting the Jets are supposed to be a playoff team we had Kevin Graham on doesn't necessarily believe that the Dolphins and the bills are ascending think they might be descending my expect expectation for the Jets can you turn seven- 10 into 10 and seven which they can still do this is one game it's a long season it's one of the better teams are going to play I never have bought the hype that they are going to win the Super Bowl they're a Super Bowl team now you're in New York and you're out of your mind well you have to get to the postseason first yep and depending on what you look like when you get there this is the NFL and I realize the Chiefs are on top of the world right now because they've earned it but at the same time we've seen teams come out of nowhere and make Super Bowl runs so they end up being a Super Bowl Contender if not actually getting in the game and playing win or lose I mean just as the Giants under Eli Manning that one year they weren't very good but they somehow got hot they got in I mean they share that stadium with these guys nine and sevenam and they won it all right so uh it it's not like the NBA it's far more like baseball if you get in and get hot you have got a chance which some people could say well that's the detriment of it no I think to me that's the fun of it when they are assured virtually of the outcome I don't necessarily find that fun doesn't mean that I can't enjoy it because we've seen in the NBA where we knew in October who was going to likely be in it and you can still have fun in that we knew Jordan was probably going to go to the finals but yet it was still fun to watch it to see him pull it off we knew in his Heyday that tiger was still going to probably be in it come Sunday but you you found at least I did found fun and enjoyment and most importantly entertainment because that's how I view Sports as entertainment I found it entertaining so there's different ways you can present it to the public and have the public be captured by it at least for me I'm a sports guy all the way through and through so I like the opportunity to see some other teams and because you've got to get on a magical run if you were like last year with the Texas Rangers and the Diamondbacks nobody would have picked them at the start but they had magical runs and guys that probably unless you were following those individual teams you really didn't have any idea who they were and they come up with some big plays now I suppose that doesn't capture the the entire country and the ratings were probably low I get all that but I don't care about that that's the TV ratings are meaningless to me I like what I like and it doesn't matter if my neighbors are watching the same thing as long as I like so there's something to be said for both ways I like when the NFL playoffs start there is a top dog but there's plenty of other teams that are capable the Giants I think are the best example in that they got the undefeated Patriots with an all H alltime Hall of Fame coach and the same thing with the quarterback and yet they still beat him that to me is incredible and last year watching the Chiefs do their thing the Chiefs that was more like uh the Michael Jordan run but both entertaining right I know they might do this but I how are they going to pull it off so if the if the Jets should get it together and I hope they do and the Chiefs weren't dominant last year have to be 11 and six right yeah you don't have to be but they they know more than ever you don't have to be so why waste the energy and all that stuff getting all excited about all that stuff it doesn't matter it's just be playing your best ball in the postseason I would like in all sincerity I have extended family members who have season tickets to the Jets and bleed jet Green I guess whatever so you'd like them to pull it together a little bit and make themselves a story and have some success even if you don't win the Ultimate Prize yes yes I've got a cousin and her husband that I'm that I've known obviously my whole life and I know they're BigTime Jets fans and I would like to see them have some success they've been loyal Jet fans in fact she my cousin not me but she is related to Kelly Rippa Kelly Rippa brush with greatness yes she's married now my cousin but growing up you know what her last name was Rippa yes see falling along at everything and Kelly as you know is from Jersey I've heard that my cousins thousand from Jersey her father Louis Rippa yeah DJ and PK when we come clearly to be thought of like that and then have the walking in the and the way he walked in that movie as he was laughing if that doesn't move you you're moveless his walking in the crunch they must had the mic right there to pick up the crunching of the shoes on the crushed rock the gravel whatever it was yeah it was excellent scream baseball warning track when he did it yeah that movie is about life it's This Is Us was baseball as a metaphor yeah and it worked oh it worked to the highest level this is why people are driving out to the middle of Iowa every weekend it's simply a top five movie of all time and anybody who denies it it's like you people with the soccer well you don't understand it so you got two Godfather movies and Field of Dreams and what else in your top five nothing you only have three in your top five yeah seems like a waste why that just shows you how great they were that would make them the top three right but others would put them in there but they would F fail grossly in comparison i' I'd probably say Stripes with Bill Murray nice what's wrong with that have you watched it there nothing 400 times there's nothing wrong with it it's got a bunch of hilarious lines in it but it's not a great movie it's like they just do stuff until they come up with the next joke which is fine it's not my 23rd year of radio that's a metaphor for life right there Ray just signed the papers and they'll walk out to the [Music] bleachers sit in the shirt sleeves on a perfect afternoon yes they'll find they have reserved seats somewhere along one of the baselines where they sat when they were children and cheered their Heroes and they watched the game and it'll be as if they' dipped themselves in Magic Waters the memories will be so thick they have to brush them away from their faces Ray when the bank opens in the morning they'll foreclose shut up people will come Ray you're broke Ray you sell now or you lose everything turd the one constant through all the years Ray has been Baseball America has rolled by like an army of Steamrollers yes it's been red like a Blackboard rebuilt and erased again but baseball has marked the time this field this game is a part of our past Ray damn right it reminds us of all that once was good and it could be again absolutely brilliant and only he could could have done it do you know James Earl Jones did a guest appearance in The Simpsons I had no idea doesn't everybody do a guest appearance in I guess there's that he's on The Big Bang Theory too I've seen The Big Bang Theory and Timothy busfield is the guy was trying to get him to sign yeah Timothy busfield the squeaky voice versus James ear and I told him yeah that he needed to back off I literally told him he did yeah he would be in a press box at daughter Stadium what did he say he laughed he's a baseball fan he I mean I would literally see him there I didn't cover many Dodger games but because of they play so many they play so many and there's vacations and weddings and yeah funerals and whatever else right so you had to you had the pinch hit so to speak so I covered I covered a fair share of Angel and Dodger games because of H
