LA RAMS NEWS: Rams give LB Ernest Jones permission to SEEK Trade

LA Rams news uh ESPN Jeremy Fowler reporting that the Los Angeles Rams have given linebacker Ernest Jones permission to seek a trade from another team uh because contract negotiations have stalled hello ramley another NFL family pay time here you're Canadian Ram fan and just doing a quick video on a nice sunny day where I live this isn't nice and sunny news though this is unfortunate I this has been something that I feel like has been brewing but not getting a lot of attention uh we knew that Ernest Jones and the Rams were in a contract negotiation for a while now Ernest Jones has publicly said you know he would like to stay in La he would like LA to be a home for him and his family I think La loves the guy loves him as a player uh like in terms of fan the fan base he has great production on the field but clearly uh production uh or the contract negotiations have broken down and the Rams have decided to give him permission to seek a trade with another team my initial thoughts and reaction are oh man that sucks especially this close to the season uh just because I am a fan of Ernest Jones he's got it's been fun to see his career he was a 2021 third round pick by the Rams uh he's been a play caller wearing the Green Dot on defense for the Rams uh he broke the uh franchise tackle record last year except by James lontis uh and so there's a lot to cheer about with Ernest Jones I really felt this was going to be a year where the the the leadership of the defense truly was him with the was his uh with the retirement of Aaron Donald so yeah kind of sad about that still gonna be an optimistic fan hoping that maybe there's a path to a contract there uh I'd rather this not turn into a Brandon iuk situation and again I think the the Rams and Ernest Jones have handled this situation with class and professionalism are their teams going to be interested in trading for him right now I I think so I do think that it's more if there's an injury to a team starting linebacker um there there there has to be some some interest knowing that Jones is available for a trade and you know the the trade deadline isn't for a couple weeks so I think that does make him a trade Target that teams would be interested in uh if he can get a new contract with another team I know a lot of people will probably think uh the Falcons just because Raheem Morris is there and they've they worked so closely together for for a variety of years so yeah going to be interesting to see how this plays out I wish Ernest Jones nothing but the best uh you know absolutely if he's with the Rams I will be cheering him on if he goes to another team I'll be sad uh there is a history of the Rams not pain uh linebackers I really felt this was going to be the one uh that changed that just because Ernest Jones has gotten better you know with the Rams each and every season uh but clearly the two sides couldn't agree on you know the value of of what he brings in terms of that position so let me know your thoughts in the comments below I'm uh definitely nervous that Ernest Jones might not be out there and we would lose a really good player on the defensive side of the ball this close to a season that has very high expectations so anyway go Rams horns up and peace out let me know your thoughts in the comments below and as always oh I just said that Rams woohoo
