welcome to ipsilanti and just a few miles away from the big house where this house is home to the Eastern Michigan Eagles and we are anticipating a great turnout and a sensational game in this one there's just something about the night cap after a day of wall toall football it just seems this is when chaos ensues as we'll see a squad from the back the Miami Ohio Red Hawks taking on the winners of straight the Eastern Michigan Eagles glad to have you with us for EA Sports college football I'm reys Davis David Po and Jesse Palmer with me in the booth guys we are ready to te it up and the Red Hawks will kick it off to get us underway looking for an alley from inside his own 10 and the return man showing great vision to be able to find some space and put his team in much better field position they've got the Big Fellas out there a three tight end look on First and 10 from the gun the ground game gets it past to marker that's why they love to feed this senior running back he'll find those extra yards I know this is an offensive line that has a ton of Pride and they want to come out each and every game and really impose their will on the D line they got just enough push there on that pick up for first didn't get much on first down it's second and nine I wonder how much fun this is for him the head coach trying to take down the old aler across the way yeah I think these are always mixed emotions and how you feel about this playing your old Squad like it's something about it I'm sure this nostalgic and all the memories probably come flooding back but there's also a competitive element called that you want to beat this squad like this is this is the next team in your way for you accomplishing your goals and dreams yeah he's probably experiencing the emotional Spectrum coming into this game but make no mistake about it he has to separate himself from his past allegiances and understand he's the home team he wants this crowd to get in this football game you know he just gave a rousing speech to his guys in the locker room before taking the field he wants to win this game versus his Alma man got the first down and more and the defense finally makes the stop after the sweet run and good gain and the Eagles come to the line with a new set of downs out of the gun the give to the back he pushes his way down to the four as they get closer and closer listen you you got to be able to know what play to call and what hole to go through like the line blocks for a certain hole good job getting through the hole getting what was blocked getting a nice positive gain making your situation really good on the next down they give it to him again he pushes it forward all the way to the two yd line tight quarters deep in the Red Zone but they can pick up a first down without scoring third down and he takes it in for the score touchdown Eagles the offense goes as he goes so really no surprise in the opening drive they keep feeding him the football he showed you all of his ability on that TV lining up to tack one more onto that lead how in the world did that a 69 yd touchdown drive and finish to deal with the short touchdown run from the [Applause] two from inside his own 10 he'll try to help out their field position really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 so the Miami Red Hawks offense will get the ball for the first time as we take a look at our impact players for this game David what do you look for to make an impact from your leaders your leaders not only have to lead the football team but they got to step up and make plays on the field keep everybody calm these guys typically do a really good job of it yeah David and they also generally set the tone for their respective football teams regardless of which side of the ball they play on the teammates look towards them to step up in big games like this now on first down from the 30 right back to the well he knock down in the back field he'll lose a couple I love when you start bringing linebackers up near the line of scrimmage and you start sending them because those guys have serious speed they can come catch anybody up and down the line of scrimmage the linebacker you could tell he had a good clue what was going on he knew it was a run play fired pulled the trigger came downhill and attacked the running back listen I know there are a lot of DBS out there that all they want to do is get interceptions and dance in the end zone this dude likes to put his face in the f get close to the line of scrimmage and tackle and on the opening drive that he's out there he gets a huge tackle for Lo that is a statement play able to get the first one of the day away they did have to send him out three times in that Victory last week he gets a block can they catch him he'll take it to touchdown Eagles a dynamic explosive return the sliver of daylight exploding through it just vaporizing and reappearing on the other side and housing it and P Turners are so quick you can play Touch football in an elevator with them and lose you can't even get your hand on those so quick so elusive does such a great job making people Miss but still going full speed up the field to get all the way to the end zone and score the T now the challenge here they've taken a punch but they can't let it get out of hand as we start the second just about set to kick it [Applause] away from inside the 10 here he comes not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 Miami Ohio has it back the Red Hawks offense heads to the field they just didn't quite find the Rhythm on that last Drive Jesse they had to punt it I think they got to be more physical David I think up front they got to do a better job getting blocks and establishing this running game and how easy does football become if you're the more physical team if you can threaten the run and then then run play action it opens up the whole offense at your disposal from the gun they'll try the middle wrestled down at the 32 after a pick up of five I love when players understand situations and they understand where the first down marker is and they understand where I got to get to a lot of people you'll see run north south and try to bounce out wide and make big plays sometimes it's not about making big plays sometimes it's about getting that first down to make sure I get an extra set of downs instead of trying to make those big touchdown runs and he doesn't find much Running Room a short gain on the play kept it on the ground on first down let's see what they do on second looking to throw it's gabber pressure coming and the quarterback is snowed under he has been terrorizing quarterbacks all year long that now his 10th sack of the Season he's got speed he's got power he's going to play on Sundays and he is not cooperating with this offense's game plan he'll try to do it himself at the 40 there goes he gets the job done picking up the first down then getting down the Red Hawks come to the line with a fresh set of downs he wants to throw fires to the wide out got his Man Down field really good surge for this offense they move the chains and he's got it at the 34 looking for a productive play on first down he's going to pass fires to the right wide open down field and it is a chunk play a huge gain on that one before the defense brings it to an end they've moved it into scoring territory first and 10 from the 11 he's got it on the move they go up top to get it down to the 5 yd line as they try to pay off this drive operating in the Red Zone here on second down 25 he's looking to throw into the end zone and he's got it touchdown RedHawks and I tell you what that passing touchdown man that should spark this whole team like The Comeback is more than on now like they got the touchdown they cut into the lead you want to get a stop and go into the half get all the juices all the excitement and be like listen the passing game's rolling we got this the comeb back's in full effect and for a quick update let's go to Kevin Conor's in the studio a bit of an under the radar game this week guys but take a look at this ULM is currently ahead in this one inside a jam packed Malone Stadium but they've struggled to really pull away they're up by 10 over Southern Miss we are the eyes and ears of the college football fan and we've got you covered all day here in studio guys oh and how about that I know Kevin and those guys will an eye on it for us one step WRA twep squeeze this junior knows how to get him on the ground picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down going to run it it's McMillan he's there to make the stop we got a timeout out here late in the first half and they'll try to get more points on the board before the break everybody talks about DBS they talk about dropping in coverage and not being physical that DB begs to differ great tackle coming up playing physical like a line backer and there were some collisions in there and the D finally stops him short of the marker the defense calls the timeout there second of the day as they try to get their act together what a turning point this could be the offense is going for it inside its own 30 floating away he's going to take off still running at the 40 him to the ground but he's got ready for a first down time dwindling away as they try to put points on the board right before the half looking for a man it's Snider using his legs to buy some time he Chucks one out to the right and he's got it inside the I love when you back the defense off if you want to get aggressive I'll take shots down the field make the defense play more conservative and now what now you're in the Red Zone with a chance to get some points one more play before the teams head to the locker rooms flush out the quarterback scrambled around but the defense able to scramble him and turn it into a sack apparently some confusion as the offense calls the timeout it's their first of the half and the offense will stay out there for one more play with one second remaining in the first half going for it all and they couldn't connect on the Deep shot let's see see if things get worse there's a flag on the field which way is this going to [Applause] go and the defender just way too handsy on that last play you could see all the contact as the ball was in the air you simply can't do it and the referee's caught [Music] it they'll leave it with him and he'll Glide his way in for the score touchdown Eastern Michigan and I love this offense man staying aggressive just because you got the lead you know people can score points in bunches this offense keeps the foot on the accelerator scores again on the final play now this offense has even more of a cushion going into halftime and with the extra point they stretch the lead to 13 first half in the books time now to join Kevin Connor in our halftime update thanks philis the end of a very entertaining first two quarters of football in ipsan and we've got to start our halftime breakdown with this Superstar running back his elusiveness his raw power this young man is the total package and his ability to catch the ball out of the back field is a differentiator a lot of guys can hit the hole this kid can hit the hole and hit the home run in the passing game and just like that let's send it back to the guys inside the factory Eastern Michigan will kick it deep to start the second [Applause] half he'll start the return inside his five he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 the Miami Ohio offense returns to the field down two possessions to start this third quarter they love to build some early momentum you ain't lying cuz you only got so many possessions here in the second half so now you're down I got to maximize every single one put your best plays together start this drive off on a good note yeah it starts right here obviously you can't get it all back on this drive but you can create that momentum you can create something special and some energy but it's going to start with this offense here executing at a high level got his man quickly he's really close to that first down marker but they stop him just a bit short one of the things that makes this guy so dangerous is how good he is after the catch if he's got any space around him he's able to burst he's able to make people miss and get extra yards for his offense you saw it right there and the Red Hawks get enough for the first down well they needed two yards to get that first down that's exactly what they got great job of no secret about it just got to be physical get a hat on a hat low man wins all the cliches to get that third down and and they'll bring him down after a short pick up after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven wide receiver shows motion running back searching for a hole and he was fortunate not to lose yardage on that play able to wedge it back to the line of scrimmage and this ill afford to come up empty on this drive already trailing by multiple possessions he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three the Red Hawks decide to pun it away and yeah that's kind of surprising we talked about this before the game one of the big matchups run the football against a defense that's been susceptible against the Run throughout the season but this offense just can't find a way to get it going and I'm surprised but now what's your counter punch how are you going to the ground game going so far not a lot of success here's this off with a set ofs going over the top makes the grab touchdown Eagles and once he found some daylight it was time to make a house call no midseason concentration laps here in week seven as they push out that lead this offense looked Unstoppable in the first half lighing the scoreboard and it doesn't look much different here in the second half they take their first drive of the third quarter March it down the field and score there is no end in sight for these [Applause] guys the officials offer the deal and the coach accepts it they will take the penalty My Philosophy on going for two is only when you have to wants to throw it's Snider flushed out of the pocket he's got the two-point conversion and they build on that lead and that is a height of efficiency on that drive passing game single snap get a [Applause] touchdown on the run from inside zone five and the return man has no place to run no place to hide and a place to be tackled guys we'll see what this Red Hawks offense can get done this time they're down by 21 points but you got a touchdown here and you do at least apply a little game pressure Jesse it's true I think for them to get back in this one at this point now they need the quarterback to play his best football he's going to have to be good really pre- snap David making sure they're in the right looks and he's got to be really good with his decision making he's got to be dowed in because defensively you're giving up points so it's not like you have the luxury for defense playing great the offense is going to have to score and score pretty dang quick that was a nice second down run third and inches and now it's physical time right like they know you might run the football you know you probably want to run the football how can you be more physical sometimes bring some extra body some extra tight ends in go to that play that you know is your short yardage play and the RedHawks will snap it on First and 10 used the play fake now to throw working on the right and he'll have enough for the first down at the 42 clock winds inside a minute to play here in the third man the tight ends are one of the most versatile guys in the field and you see it right here the play action they're used to blocking right now just slip right by the linebackers slip to the second level come open the quarterback finds them in great rhym couldn't connect on that last play now second and 10 from the 42 after the incompletion back to the passing game he's right on target they make the stop after the catch and still some work to do to pick up that first down passing game very effective on second down what about here on third they'll try to get it through the air throws to the wide out oh they really could have used that catch their physical pass defense it brings up a fourth down the Red Hawks line up to punt it away he'll try to really get into this one and the punt hits at the eight and goes into the end zone for the Touchback Eastern Michigan has it back as the eagle offense returns to the field they torch this defense with an explosive passing play for a score last time out let's see if they go right back at him stopped at the 25 after a 5yd gain as they get set to snap at time winding down here in the quarter using his legs it's McMillan can't get him to the ground and he's got enough for a first down now to see if they have enough time to snap it again here in the third that's the end of the quarter and Eastern Michigan has the lead let's take a quick look at the national rankings to see how this playoff race is shaping up as we start the fourth quarter it'll take a pretty sizable comeback to win this one it's first and 10 from the 38 yd line they'll keep it on the ground to keep this clock moving he got a bunch and looked close to getting a lot more but he's got the first down he now has 84 yds on the ground and he has his eyes fixed on leading the nation in rushing a first down for the offense on the option he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three it's going to be tough sledding for the offense here they're trying to ice this game by running the football and bleeding the clock they've got a pretty good lead here late in the game but the defense knows the run's coming right so they're going to be loading the line of scrimmage getting stops like what off he goes and he finds his way out of bounds real close to the goal line there knocking on the door these situations are freaked so much in college football finishing a game strong understanding circumstances they are running the football right at you touchdown Eastern Michigan and the Ping has started that lead a little more comfortable now as they close in on extending this winning streak and what can you say about this offense in this game it hasn't always been pretty all season long yet they've continually found ways to win each and every week but today in a day where they had to light the scoreboard up because the opposing offense came to play their offense got it done and as a result they stay undefeated almost ready to kick it away after scoring the touchdown takes it inside his own 20 chance for great field position here just enough space to cross the 25 let's mark it at the 27 yd line here comes the offense on first down they're going to open this drive with a pass throws to the back gets it out quickly he's there to make the stop but the damage has been done as they pick up the first down on the throw and catch here's this offense with a fresh set of downs two minutes now left in this one and time is running short if they want to find a way to pull this one out the offense set for a first down play he's looking to throw it quick strike complete and he's able to bounce off one tackle for a solid pick up well here's the problem offensively because you're trailing by so much so late in the game the defense now is going to be playing big Zone coverages and they're going to allow you to throw the ball underneath in the middle of the field rally to make a tackle and bleed the clock it's going to be hard now for this offense to claw their way back in this one and the defense is all over the quarterback and down he goes now this offense facing a third and long from their own 30 looking to throw and he needs a chunk [Applause] play Pockets starts to collap and this defense has maxed out this pressure another sack and the red Hogs send out the punt unit and man is that a just indictment of the day your quarterback getting drilled late in the football game this offense has sputtered they haven't found any kind of good Rhythm they haven't done things that that really gives your coach confidence and makes you want to believe in them this offense has a lot of work to do before their next football game Eastern Michigan takes over as the offense heads to the field and you can forget running in the middle against this defense they're in command of this game now let's see if they tried to rub a little salt in the wound or happy with getting the W yeah and listen this this makes the post game he smashes his way through again and I'm a fan of this man run the football eat the clock we got the lead this offense has put together a nice day man like just balance Rhythm timing play calling everything is worked that's why they built this lead they've had a great day today and tackling there to keep him from getting to the first down marker Eastern Michigan will be forced to punt first time today we've seen a punter go to work not going to risk a return here he'll make the fair catch Miami Ohio has it back the Red Hawks offense heads to the field this thing got out of hand on them but they'll try to finish with some pride here and this one was a beat down and there's nothing you can do about it because this one's over Jesse now we got to start progressing for and he will be sacked at the 6yd line and now they have enhanced their degree of difficulty on second and long from the six to the air it's gab they're bringing heat under heat and he gets rid of it nowhere close on that one as he got thrilled trying to deliver the football and now they face third down I'm not positive but that first down marker might be in the next County they're setting up the screen they play that screen nicely he tried to find his way to the marker but it'll Beth down fair catch called for and made when you hit this point in the season week seven you sort of turn the corner and you remain unbeaten at this point you've morphed into a championship Contender yes but you don't want to Peak too far ahead re you kind of want to be like nothing to see here just move on U we haven't accomplished what we wanted yet we haven't accomplished what we set out to do it's week seven I know you guys got bigger hopes and bigger dreams than just being to week seven and being undefeated and guys I've been really impressed with this team because they just seemed to always have an identity from the very beginning of the year they knew who they were they knew what they were going to go out and try to accomplish and how they wanted to dominate teams and they've been able to do that to this point so David point just keep getting better every single week moving ahead and this team could be
