Martin Truex Jr. Shares His Thoughts On Austin Dillon Penalty and JGR Engine Issues

are you satisfied that Toyota fixed the or discovered the problem and it's getting to the bottom of the engine issue as quickly as it did yeah I mean anytime you start having valve spring issues it's always you're kind of chasing a ghost you know so um they do a great job and our engines have been been really good and just um you know kind of we're kind of in that weird weird Zone where uh I don't know you know what they had to change or whatnot but they'll get it figured out they're very good at what they do you feel like you've got to get some wins accumulate some playoff points before the playoffs start yeah I mean it'd be nice we're certainly not in a great position you know whether we're in or not it's um I know what what it what it feels like to have those points and how much they can mean you know it's uh if you're go without any points and you're you're buried there it's just there's no room for errors you have to be perfect and you have to have you know you know top three to five finishes every week especially after that first round so um we're working hard we're trying hard just things haven't been going too well lately and um you know got a great team and fast fast cars and we just need to uh do a better job are you okay like do you know where the the rules are now I mean Joey says his deal was different with you than it was with Austin to him what are your faults and you know what you can get away with on the track now I mean I think maybe the outcome was a little different with that but the intent was the same right it was I'm going to drive into the corner as hard as I can and and hit the guy and hope I can get by him so I don't really agree with what he said um but I don't know I mean I think big picture I think I'm I'm happy they did something you know because I don't I just don't agree with that kind of racing and um you know I understand the format and you know everybody just blames that and it's you still you still have to drive the car and anyone can drive through the guy in front of them anyone can do it takes no skill no Talent um at all and and so I'm glad they did something so it'll you know guys will be a little more hesitant hesitant to do that um but yeah I mean we've seen we've seen these things happen before over the years so it's uh it is what it is do you think that Dylan's move on Hamlin was a deliberate hook or do you think he was trying to Door him I mean I'll be honest with you I haven't even looked at it close enough because you know at the end of the day it doesn't really affect me and my thoughts on the situation don't really affect anyone or really even matter for that sake so um I didn't uh I didn't really study it like a lot of people did Steven stof front.com here come back for more great racing videos and if you like us don't forget to hit that subscribe button
