football season is not here yet you've got you've got you've got college football week one next week that is football being back I'm done it's the NFL I'm not I'm not gonna be able to convince you I'm battle Geron Mayo said all four quarterbacks will play I disagree I don't think bayy zabby should play a snap tonight but who am I but what happened last week is that jacobe brette played one full quarter and then Drake May played quarters two and three Joe Milton started quarter four and bayy zappy came in with minutes left to play so what I'm looking for here is obviously gerod Mayo said they're going to know who quarterback one is tomorrow night so this is the last opportunity for Drake May to jump that qb2 to qb1 positioning and really solidify himself as an NFL quarterback or it may be a little bit too much tonight and jacobe brette will take that lead and continue as the plan is right now jacobe brassett is qb1 but but there's also another quarterback Battle of Joe Milton and bayy zappy will Joe Milton finally pull away and be the all-time quarterback three for the New England Patriots this season or bayy zappy have another season with them but I do believe that it starts with the left tackle and the last port that I saw was earlier this week for Daren low was actually a little bit injured with a torso injury which did allow Kan Wallace take a lot of reps at left tackle so now for Daren low who has been the starter through 10 practice and two preseason games that left tackle may or may not be injured and Gerard Mayo said everybody will play tonight if healthy so we'll know probably in the first offensive series whether or not low is healthy and what does that mean if he is does that mean he's our starter if he's not does that mean Kaden Wallace the rookie is our starter or do we still have a little bit of opportunity to go pick somebody off off the waiver wire or possibly sign a free agent not to mention there's another battle going on at the kicker position and I know it's not the not the prettiest battle that there is out there in the NFL world but when you're down by three and you need to tie the game or you need to win this is when it really comes NY would you rather have the game-winning field goal rely on the leg of Joey Sly or Chad Ryland because it's neck and neck right now of course Joey Sly is it majority of his field goals in practice but he's also playing at FedEx Field tonight his former Turf for several years so I think he's got an upper hand in this battle so I have to see if Joey slly takes this away and sends Chad Ryland out of the 53 man roster plus you got to look at a third string running back because right now the way that Alex vanel has kind of been running his offense is that it may look like a four quarterback depth chart and that will include aandre Stevenson Antonio Gibson Kevin Harris and probably jichael Hasty so if it does who will be the third running back will it be Harris or will it be hasty because both of them kind of have that hard-nosed fall forward power build when it comes to the pocket and when it comes to running through the gaps but I think that tonight May really differentiate between those two guys and then of course last but not least what I'm going to be watching here is the tight tight wide receiver room race that there are several players on the brink of being cut in the brink of being the top six for the New England Patriots which means you got taquon Thorton you've also got kaan booty Jaylen rer who they've been mainly running here actually as punt returner so there's several wide receivers that may not end up being with the Patriots for more than 48 hours after this ball game when the PM Eastern Time deadline for the 53 man roster is released so as you guys can see quarterback battle the left tackle position the starting kicker a third string running back and maybe a four deep on the depth chart and a tight wide receiver room there are losing the Philadelphia Eagles 17 to excuse me 14-13 and then losing to the commanders 20 to 10 on today's episode of Patriots today by Chad Sports we're going to break down my instant reaction everything that I saw from the last preseason game ahead of the cutdown for the 53-man roster on Tuesday number one Drake May needs to be qb1 I'll be the first one to say it there is a different aura of when Drake May is in the ball game than when jacobe brette is however unfortunately up until this point the quarterback battle has been pretty neck and neck with jacobe brasset and Drake may but because of some incidents that did happen in week one which did include unfortunately some injury updates which we'll give you guys in just a few moments it looks like Drake may may have an upper hand at getting qb1 sooner rather than later but before we hop into that go on ahead hit that sub button for me if you guys haven't already will be live for every single New England Patriots football game and we post daily videos about the Patriots R news and rumors especially ahead of that 53 man cut down for the roster coming up on Tuesday at 4M eastern time so go on ahead hit that sub button for me if you haven't already jacobe brassett went down in the first series of week three preseason game against the commanders and Ian Rapaport tweeted out that pret suffered a right shoulder injury and was questionable to return however the latest update that we do have is that jacobe brassette was on the sideline for the entire game after coming out with that injury and he was still in his pads he definitely was grimacing he was definitely holding his shoulder out there you know giving that like grit through his teeth when he got hit but seemingly a sign the injury is not serious head coach Rod May will update after this game we'll update you guys what we know on what Gerard Mayo had to say about jacobe brassette but that wasn't unfortunately the only injur iny that was sustained in the Patriots preseason game they also downgraded City so after he was knocked down around the second quarter and immediately started grabbing his ankle and Andrew Callahan just re reiterating hard to imagine so would have returned anyway but it's never a good sign when a player is ruled out so we'll keep you guys updated on how City St will look heading into two weeks away from the regular season and then of course we do have Christian Ellis who was fighting for the 53 man roster but he ended up getting shaken up and the second half and he did end up getting a head injury which is really tough that will probably end up being a cut from the roster he's worked very hard but you never say never pass may cross again but looks like Christian Ellis will probably not make the 53 man roster with that head injury let's talk about Drake May here for a second because I have several thoughts on how I think Drake May should be quarterback one number one he's comfortable he's confident he consistently makes good decisions and that was the thing for me we knew Drake May is a solid quarterback but can he consistently be a good quarterback he went through he scored a touchdown after two fumbled snaps that one was his fault one wasn't his shoe came off and he continued to not miss a drop step and complete the pass he had several wide receivers miss their Mark he had numerous holding penalties including a touchdown pass which could have ended up making this ball game a lot tighter with KJ Osborne but it was called back for a lineup infringement from lineup infraction from Chuck aor for but nonetheless look at the yards this is a phenomenal statline from Drake May who didn't have a good stat line was possibly quarterback three Joe Milton five for 17 a lot of overthrown passes still has a lot of trouble with making sure his consistency is the same on a 10 yard pass as it is on a 70 yard pass I mean he's slinging these things and it's causing a lot of these receivers to not be able to catch the ball nonetheless when he was chucking at 70 yards up field it just really wasn't an accurate pass it was out of bounds it was an interception which did get called back because of a uh holding on the defense so nonetheless Joe Milton did not have an impressive game in week three so we'll have to see what the final cutdown will look like here with the Patriots quarterbacks but let me ask you a question pick a quarterback for me do you like jacobe brette type JB do you like Drake May type DM or do you like Joe Milton let me know in the comments section down below by typing JM here is overall what the Patriots offense did against the commander defense 355 yards which you guys just saw 126 of those yards did come from Drake May passing 20 for 42 27 carries for 139 yards zero turnovers but one should have been inter reception with Joe Milton it was called back but nonetheless the the thing that stands out to me the most was 10 penalties for 157 yards and don't be that surprised because there were nine penalties for the commanders so 20 almost 20 penalties in the entire game obviously the refs were very happy to blow their whistle but let's talk about the running back depth chart which is still something to watch here jichael Hasty four carries for 21 yards he's got a powerful powerful run he's hard no same thing there with Kevin Harris it's going to be tough to decipher who's going to be running back three but I do think they'll end up keeping Hasty and Harris on their 53 man roster overall the top receivers here having Jaylen pul two receptions for 33 yards pul was very consistent didn't play a whole lot but he was definitely right there with Drake May who also got to Showcase another receiver here tonight the tight end Jem Bell which actually watching him run with some of the first string offensive players Jem Bell is ginormous he is a fantastic Target for a tight end so I'm really hoping that tonight could solidify the tight end room will look something like Hunter Henry Austin Hooper and jaem Bell but we've got a lot more to unpack here on my instant reactions from week three of the NFL preseason but I've got to tell you guys about they did a lot better going up against Jeff D Jeff Driscoll 12 for 18 73 yards one interception coming from Giles Harris so overall they did a lot better when the first string and second string Defenders were in so nonetheless I'm I'm expecting bigger things from the defense moving forward as you guys can see top receivers there for the Washington commanders in week three of the NFL preseason Patriots have a long way to go they got a lot of things to tweak in the next two weeks before game one and of course with the 53 man roster cutdown being on Tuesday I have one last question
