Renegade Roundtable #138 || Cam Sutton Suspension + MLB All Star Game Jersey History Rankings

yo what is good everyone whoa what is what is good everyone how you guys doing welcome back to another episode of the Renegade Round Table podcast here I am Jeffrey Kirby as always each and every week we are joined by Jared Jared how in the hell are you doing all right morning morning hope you all had a good fourth celebrate safely oh yeah it's uh yeah I I hope you guys did have a a good fourth um what did you do for your fourth of July weekend uh went hanged out with some friends blew up some fireworks the usual had some had some little drinks had some burgers and hot dogs the you know the American American way oh yeah my ass what did I do golfed golfed and more golf more golf huh I think I golfed last week I think I golfed three times last week wow I think it went Sunday Thursday Sunday yeah it was a lot of golfing a little bit of grilling a lot of drinking lot of drinking the usual for the fourth and uh lots of cigar smokes of course for me but but yeah it was a good Fourth of July week um and obviously back to the the normal week normal work week which always sucks but you know it is what it is um obviously we're getting close we're getting close with the Steelers and uh uh training camp coming up in a couple weeks it's going to be fun it's going to be great for us finally we're going to have some real content to be able to talk about that's my always thing get me to training camp yep get us to training camp and then we're good for a while because there's now always going to be stuff to talk about uh when it comes to the Steelers here but uh before we get to training camp we did have uh some news going on and uh the suspension of Cam Sutton came out eight games which let me know when we reacted to the to the signing originally we were a little iffy about it um you know just based on everything blah blah blah what are your reactions now not surprising honestly you they weren't going to let any of this slide it was just depending the amount of games eight games it is what it is it's not there for eight games the Ste you know Steelers are going to keep them I guess for eight games they they knew they must knew what was coming if they wanted to sign him so that's why you got Cory Tri Dante Jackson now we probably get him a little more of a role for those eight games but uh it was it was expected a suspension was coming though for sure yeah I I I think my reaction is why did we sign him yeah I mean I I I know how the is going to go with a with a good amount of Steeler fans there are some that will not be fans of him ever and that's totally understandable but there are some and this happens every year where people [ __ ] up a storm why do we sign them this that and third blah blah blah then if he goes out there in his first game and makes a game-winning interception then people are going tear and just completely forget about it I mean it's it's how it goes it's right or wrong in sports that's how it goes and it'll probably happen again with most fans Y and so that but to me at this point I'm like what was the point I mean he's going to be gone for half the year yep I I don't know I'm just I it's it's a it's a 5050 basically but the reason you signed cam cam Sutton you know for depth you know you're not going to ask much from him like unlike Detroit they asked a lot from him to cover you know the good receivers and you saw how that how that went with him so it didn't didn't do well but other than that as a player on the field you know he's a Le he's a solid option but off with off the field issues you know that that that's people don't like the signing I I I totally understand that but yeah it's one it's one of those scenarios again pretty much yeah I'm leaning towards that area of like what was the point I mean I I'm I'm I obviously now with him gone for eight games like who do you they have to get another corner you would assume so well so apparently there was it came out early today because we're recording this very early this morning um Josiah Scott was running as a first team slot Corner prior to the uh cam Sutton signing so the Steelers have been preparing for this already as is so uh that possibly could be your slot guy so right now you're probably your possible three Corners are going to be Dante Jackson Cory tce depending on how his recoveries go in this end of thir blah blah blah and there's probably a name I'm completely just of course you got jpj you got JJ there you go I'm completely you got him and then I just woke up this morning y'all not all the gears are are going this morning but um but if you say this guy that's been prepping with the slot corner and if he does well then I you know I you know hope really does well let's see how he looks in the in training camp in the preseason we'll see how that goes out so but but no cam Su it either way doesn't Ma I really could care less if he if he was there or not to be honest it is it is what it is yeah I mean we'll see and we all know this like I said if the Steelers were to somehow go to the Super Bowl and he was the player to make like a game-winning interception then oh my God then that would that would change a lot of there would be a lot of forgetting that people would have what did what did he do but yeah again we all know again how that goes with some of the demographic and and in certain cases like this I completely understand whether you're just not g to be a fan of it or you're just like why could it be someone else y i I understand when it comes to this because it's I mean what he did was not cool at all buter at the end of the day American America is laying to Second Chances and so he's getting a second chance here and just you just go with the flow and uh hope that he's able to learn from this learn uh and hope that maybe he can make an impact in the community and say Hey listen I made this mistake don't do what I did because this is a very dumb thing mhm and you know trying to give back and say hey so that I think would be a way that would be able to heal some of the wounds I'll say that not obviously I don't think this is certain things are just wounds that you can't feel completely and with certain people you never know but if you wanted to try and you know help your image quote unquote that'd be a way that you would be able to do that for yeah yeah definitely definitely I have a question I just thought of this it's been a couple weeks since we last talked about it it's getting closer to training camp we talked about this player is he for an extension if it's G to happen or not or or whatever they're gonna do with him cam cam Hayward have you heard anything going on with him but it's been it's been pretty quiet the last yeah since the last couple weeks we talked about them are they gonna get something done before training camp or right before when the season start preseason starts are they going to run the one year and then see what happens because you think Camp is a stealer for Life a life personally yeah I I don't I think oh I I see I just I don't know with this situation because it's like when TJ watt was at forix hson you knew that they going to extend him it was just a matter of time you know getting it done and it got H and it happened right before the season started cam on the other hand though I mean he's older there's a legitimate shot that they want to say hey let's I want to see you do this again before we give you you know more money more years however I think if you're the Steelers and you want to give him an extension do it because if he retires all right well then you don't have to pay that whatever it is um but [Music] I I think if they're going to do something it's going to be probably closer to the season they'll find a way to get something done but and I listen I'm someone who I'm someone that I'm okay with giving him two years 38 million two years 40 million give him 20 million a year and the re and people will people will raise their eyebrows at that but if we've talked about this on previous episodes 20 million a year at that position you're not even a top 10 in that position in terms of being paid so no it it's a it's a money where you you still get him pretty good value he's could still make 20 million a year I mean that's still a good amount of money and you get him right in that range where as soon as he's done with that contract that's probably when he's done so and it gives you a couple years to really try and find someone to replace that when it becomes time as well because right now it's just uh we got lario and uh who's the other guy gosh we just drafted him Bon yes so you're you know he hopefully he he's the one that turns it around but you need you need another one right because you got think when that happens K beton will be in year what four or something so yeah he'll be in year four it it's just it gives you time to be able to find someone for the future uh but then it also you get to keep your guy for Life yeah you'll be a stealer for life and I I think it's a way that if he retires great then you don't have to pay him but yeah I I would I would go with the the the if something's going to get done it'll probably be closer to the season it would be funny if we say that and it's like oh breaking news Steelers signed cam cam Hayward right now that would be hilarious that' be hilarious but um yeah okay I just I was just curi I seen like you know you know Twitter you know on and off about it you know with the hayward's uh getting an extension or not I have a question is that a P2 shirt it is a it is a P2 shirt interesting shout out to P PQ yes is is that is there oh I'm you know for some other reason I was thinking of Patrick queen or Patrick Peterson for a second no okay yeah that makes a lot more sense yeah that makes a lot more sense because you got guys are practically best friends at this point oh chill out we're not best friends we're just we're just Gamers uh have you gamed with them again s uh yes a couple times interesting okay interesting I'm getting replaced actually that's okay I understand that getting replaced that's what you're saying that is crazy I'm just kid at that point I wouldn't even be mad he is a gamer for sure he he was talking about uh the new college football coming out which I am excited to play as well come up next week yeah I say Tuesday next week whatever the the 19th uh for the standard i i a pay extra I'm sorry um I'm not that not not rich oh you got so on Tuesday so you gotta wait a week I got I got I got I got to wait a week the people that bought like the $100 version or whatever they get it they get to pay three days earlier the 16 see I didn't buy it because I don't really play video games anymore but uh if I did I definitely get the $100 version I always did give me Early Access and they and they tried to throw in Madden 25 you know the new Madden coming out for 150 so you get NT college and Madden I'm like no you could keep Madden I don't want it oh I'm waiting for GTA to come out oh man quick so real quick to everyone I still have a PlayStation 4 I do not have a PlayStation 5 but that's also because I when I so in 2020 when they came out obviously that was during Co you couldn't find them to save your [ __ ] life yeah I was in the 2021 like may it was right after the NFL draft I got Co from the NFL draft I am convinced I did um I played video games relentlessly that whole quarantine and then I got sick and tired of video games and so I stopped playing I did not touch a video game from 2021 all the way till last year when I had my surgery and you know I'm sitting there I'm laid up I'm can't [ __ ] walk I can't go anywhere I can't say hey let me go to the store without you know needing assistance so I'm like all right [ __ ] it and this was when fortnite was doing um the OG so it was perfect timing I'm like all right so I started playing then I'm playing a tiny bit now because you got fortnite reloaded we'll play a couple games at night um but yes I still have a PlayStation 4 judge me bite me don't care fight me I don't care um but when GTA 6 comes out that that might be the uh that might be the icing of the cake that might get me to let's hope it's two years let's hope if it comes out in two years that's that's the projected goal I thought it was 20 I thought it was next year I think it's 2026 no because we just read something yesterday was 2025 me and much of my boys I swear it was 2026 uh GTA oh oh you're right so late oh it's late next year yeah which you know what damn it Rockstar you know what you should have done you know what would have started out the next year with a bang put that [ __ ] out January one no no no no no no [ __ ] out here imagine this January one we've been waiting on this damn game for over a decade give us GTA 6 you go out there you spend the final parts of 2024 in line at GameStop because we're gonna do this old school way we're not just gonna sit at home and let and just download the digital versions [ __ ] that you're going to go to GameStop you're going to camp out you're going to going to tailgate at [ __ ] GameStop wherever the hell you're going to go buy your games at and then January 1 that ball drops oh that ball's dropping all right because GTA is officially here Among Us boys boys where are we going oh my God I just know I have it all planned out I just know when the game comes out I just know it's not gonna work the first couple days they can't they're not going to be able to handle they it's got to be in the Millions like I mean we've been waiting it's 10 years at least 10 years I know that for sure 11 years right now and so it' be 12 years pretty much my God look at it this way put it in perspective three entire sets of there have been three entire sets of high schoolers who have graduated yeah wow who graduated because I was a freshman when GTA or when GTA 5 came out I was able to go through and an entire set was able to go through and another entire set was able to go through h l gentlemen it could wait it could wait in the fall we just need to you know the game just needs to be you know the way it's been hyped up it better be it better be oh Rockstar doesn't Rockstar doesn't have bad games oh I know I know they don't I know I I love GTA Red Dead was good oh I love red dead I love that game I wish they' make another one ladies and gentlemen this is what we like to call Summer hack topics yeah this is what we like to call Summer hack topics and uh what something that is not a summer hack topic that is going to be coming up here very shortly is the MLB allstar game yay you know are you hold on let me ask you this are you mad because the Yankees don't have like 18 players no they have their players that deserved it judge stto Klay Holmes Klay Holmes does not deserve to be in there I'm sorry Klay Holmes has been good what do you mean I don't think he deserves to be in there I think there are other guys that I'm not even saying Guardians I'm not like I'm not saying any Guardians players like I'm I just I think there are guys that probably deserved it over Kay Holmes that's just my personal he's the closer he's a good closer that's all that's all he is what for the AL yeah he's a closer uh did you not hear about a guy named Emanuel class yes I know class is good yes the best yes the best I I didn't say Klay Holmes is the best like that I just know Klay Holmes is a good closer that's all I care about classic better um okay that's good that's fine all right but yeah getting into it uh more from the national league side so for starting pitching we have Paul SK he is a starting he's an All-Star game what a hell of a 12 months it's been for him wow I was I was hoping he would start and they and he got it is it's I because I'm sure you want to see it everyone see it judge against judge SoDo Paul SK against those guys the lineup he's going to strike him out it's okay it's the All-Star game it's a game that doesn't matter but uh their jerseys need to be better though these jerseys are God awful for the allar what what are we doing can we go back to the usual where they rep their team like what's going on here thank you what's going on why we have these Al and National jerseys and I if you want to make them make but make them look good not make them look like complete trash um so when the when the allstar game came to Cleveland and they actually had vest jerseys which by the way vest jerseys are very hit or miss with people y it's either you are a huge fan of them or you absolutely despise them I am in the fan that I absolutely love them my favorite Indians Jersey of all time is the vest my favorite Pirates Jersey of all time is the vest I am a huge fan of vest jerseys I don't know about you um but that didn't mean that I would have wanted to see them on the field I like the fact that they wore their team's jerseys on the field I like that and like you said if they want to make they're going to make them great go ahead and make them because at the end of the day there is a way to make more money cool fans will buy them as long as they look good but good God they look awful I'm sorry you can you can keep I'm not keeping my money let's go and take a look here um let's go on I looked I just know that I I seen I think I seen it earlier and it was just let's go on mlbshop.com let's go and take a look here um let me pull up the screen here so we can I will show you what we have going on here boom that is disgusting disgustingly bad not good the national league is by far better oh 100 10 times better than our in the American League it looks like a pink it's like a salon color salmon color that is disgusting want to make right now um salmon Jersey is what I saw naturally looks like it's the Miami Marlins yeah exactly that's what it looks like and it's in where's it go where's it at it's in Texas it's in Texas yep all but you know what let's do this let's let's click on let's see how much they are holy [ __ ] no they can keep it they can keep M they can keep it you know what though what I will say I like the shirts shirts are not regular t-shirts I I would get it that kind of like creamish color it's not I I I'm digging the AL shirts could be better but it's not bad look at the last year's all-star jersey like these this one was actually kind of cool was all right then there's a a Yankee hat it's just the color man the color scheme just there you go there you go I'm not buying that no I don't got money to be buying that [ __ ] I don't got money to be buying all that [ __ ] I don't y'all should have told me y'all should forever yeah I still have judges old all first Allstar Jersey oh man you know speaking of which you just mentioned it let's do that I'm going to look up all the allstar game uh all the allstar game jerseys MLB allstar game Jersey history we had zero intentions on doing this but then you brought it up and what we could do is um well I'll show them and then you can rank them based on however so here we go we're going to do this right now we're going to share the screen again let me pull it up boom and boom there we go so the first year that they did this was in 1997 in Cleveland where I'm at these were the first ever allar game jerseys that they had okay now B again we have to go based on the time as well y us we think this is probably ugly as hell yep but at that time this was the style it was we have to Bas it on that uh for me because it's in Cleveland I'm giving it a 10 I'll give it a seven okay Colorado I like the BL I like how they made the uh kind of with the mountain I think that was a nice low touch but other than that it's very basic basic but I like I like the color you know I give it I give I'll give it a eight oh I'd give like a five I just like the color for the for the American it's carrying it is that a vest Jersey t five yeah no I I'm a van of Fest jerseys however I'm not I mean this is that is a five or four right now yeah i' probably about a five and it's only getting a five because it's a vest yeah I no Atlanta oh that's not bad no it it's literally very it's very very very basic it is it just literally just like not even in cool font it just has only had like one that's been at eight and that's because you gave it to them because it was New York yep it's this is another another six to me yeah I'm being nice it should be a five that's being nice I'm giving it a four it's five all right 2011 all right this is azone and this is back when they felt like they changed up their jerseys every other damn year yeah um I actually like these I actually think I actually would give these probably a seven and a half six and I like because I mean this literally fit what they were doing back in the day with their jerseys yep although I'm not a fan of that scheme I like them I I I'm always going to be the like the purple with Arizona that's always going to be me man yep I have a Randy Johnson Jersey of the purple vest oh wow yeah I love that one all right Kansas City all right I think because of the colors alone it's going to boost their score literally I think it's going to boost their score because of the colors seven because I've as much as I don't like to or I don't like um Kansas City I like their colors a lot yep seven so I'll give it yeah seven and a half 2013 going back to New York the Mets the baby brother five and a half it's New York zero I know you give it zero it's fine actually no it's not the Yankees so uh I will give it an actual ranking um okay it's only it's it's only the Yankees we don't like five and a half 5.51 okay all right 2014 Minnesota Minnesota um five yeah probably a five five and a half five toy 15 Cincinnati and oh this is not bad oh are not bad these could have been better it could have been it they could have done so much better with this color scheme definitely but the national league is definitely better than the American League I'm giving it a six and almost six and a half I'll give the national league a seven and I'll give the American League like a three yeah pretty much all right here we go 2016 the year I got back into baseball San Diego again this is almost giving me like especially the American League jerseys these are giving me McDonald's All American game Vibes six um as crazy as it sounds I really like these I'm giving these like a eight and a half I like these 2017 oh okay 2017 in Florida or Miami I like these a lot eight and a half yeah eight and a half for me now we're starting to pick it up a little bit 29 or 2018 Washington these were kind of blad at me six six and a half 10 oh it's Cleveland zero zero not raking Cleveland zero I like these a lot I'm sure you do I wonder why Wonder settlement reasons I wonder and I was at that game by the way I bet you were that was the first really really expensive ticket I had ever bought in my life yeah that's uh wow and uh well compared to my ticket that I have for Vegas now does maybe I'll tell at the end how much my ticket for Vegas man 2020 or 2021 because they didn't have a game in 2020 um oh that's not bad I wish did a little more yeah these had a potential to be really good they had the potential they could have done so much more I'm going to give it a though and but I think the issue that I have with these two is it doesn't fit at all with the city yep Colorado yeah yeah like it doesn't fit at all with the city they could they could use purple like like this this whole entire you know what if you wanted to make these a little bit better put the player's number right here yeah that would that would have helped should have made a purple though six should have wenton with the Colorado SCH right there oh man oh the these are my favorite this are probably this is probably this is a 10 for me and I and I hate that the national league I like better than the American League but I like them both I like you what this reminds me of this reminds me of Madden Mobile 16 oh yeah mad in that Super Bowl like the 2016 when Super Bowl 50 de or in uh Santa CLA or whatever the hell was this is that Vibe I get but I love these a lot and that that National League the white with that gold that just pops oh yeah Chef's kid 10 so that's the best one22 2023 these I actually don't mind either it it you know what it looks like it looks like a dry fit Nike shirt yep I'm gonna give it a seven and a half though I'm gonna give these I'm gonna give at 8.75 I like these a lot I really do all right I'll show this year well show we already showed last year what would I I I give this year's like a three two two all right so we compromised two and a half uh there we go so that is uh so yeah we that was a very improp to uh ranking that we decided to to what I might do is honestly clip that and then make like post it as like a separate YouTube video and just a ranking all of the All-Star Game jerseys and see if uh see how people react to that um for sure other than that I think that's really about it because I know you got to get out of here a little early this morning that's why we're recording really early this morning um he's got to go on his private yacht Excursion in the mediterran alrighty but um but yeah next week uh next week you know we talk about training camp see what happens then the following week after that training camp officially begins oh man I can't wait almost here for football I'm getting bored we're getting close so by the way speaking of Vegas so give you guys an update on that so I'm going to Vegas in October you already bought the like the game ticket huh did you bu game tickets already or no so the way that it worked out is um the person I'm going with uh we bought four you know they gotten tickets and it's going to be all four of us and we're sitting we're sitting lower bowl row two wow be on TV huh try to be on TV maybe might be you might see me on T what what's your game day Jersey are you deciding that already I have not decided that yet I have not decided that yet who's to say that my jersey that I'm going to wear that day is even in my possession right now I say the same thing for me I think you know what I'll wear for my game I I don't know I may buy a New Jersey who's who's the say I already know who I'm getting it's it's it's it's already set in stone but if I had to decide it's probably song lose a little this keger here um probably either DJ or I don't know if I want to go backtack years with wearing Joey Porter senior because I wore the senior Jersey last year I could go um I could go bumblebee Ben um I could I could wear an Antonio Brown Jersey oh you just want to get yelled at that'd be great uh no I would probably say it's Pro as of now probably TJ but that subject to change I don't have the Jersey I I have in possession yet I know who I'm wearing current player oh yeah current player definitely I I think you could guess it right away is it one of the quarterbacks no I'm not buying a quarterback jersey I learned my lesson with Kenny Pi is it TJ no it's not t no it's notam it's not Minka oh Patrick Queen yeah there you go duh all right that makes sense by the way 90 days we are TJ watt days away till I uh land in Vegas wow that's crazy 90 I have a countdown timer yes I do fight me um damn so I know that because the week after isn't that the the Jets game I think it is yeah I want to say it is and then the next week after that the Giants game I want to say it is there's a a small small chance I might be back in Pittsburgh two weeks after Vegas to uh to go watch that that Giants Monday night game so starting the Cowboys game the Steelers are basically they have their prime time the Cowboys game in October then the Raiders it's four o'clock Sunday night against the Jets Monday night against the GI Giants so a lot of prime time coming up people G people are gonna be sick and tired of seeing the damn Steelers in the month of October and then the Bron Broncos is a four o'clock game well that's because of they're west coast of course they're west coast of course Browns well actually they're more they' be more of mountain time so they're probably two hours ahead I want to say or I could be wrong two two hours yes they're mountain time so a lot of prime time game not four a lot of four o'clock games I would say I see for the you know us going out west and all that yeah which is pretty good you know honestly I prefer I'll take that do I uh do I say how much that damn ticket's going to be the tickets probably has to be at least five 500 if I have to cut in my head at least five seven they'll tell me it's $800 it's a rack a rack it's a rack dog I wouldn't be able to do that you wouldn't be able to do that I wouldn't be able to do that right now no do I have to talk about what you said to me beforehand okay yes I was tempting but no yeah anyway anyways I think we should uh definitely end it here yeah between Airbnb and that between flights and all that I'm already two grand into this wow wow that's just telling me I I need to grind and save more money which uh yeah but you know what it's okay because I'm gonna go to Vegas we're gonna break Vegas for millions and
