Transcript of Reckless Rustad's Indigenous policy will bankrupt BC

hey I'm Adam Olson I'm the MLA for sanage North in the islands and I'm the BC greens campaign chair I've just snuck into Sonia's TV studio here because I want to talk about John Rad's Reckless Crown indigenous relations policy look he's decided to throw his lot in with some of the most despicable Joseph trutch British Columbia's first post-confederation lieutenant governor whose grotesque 19th century view of indigenous people the denial of Aboriginal title led us to the land conflict that still haunts us 150 years later the result for indigenous people has been Decades of dependency on Crown funding grants and one-off resource benefits agreements and rustad brags about signing hundreds of those racist agreements while he was minister of indigenous relations a throwback to the 1870s and an approach that has led to extreme Poverty of indigenous people and Decades of anger and resentment on all sides Reckless rustad is not shy in race baiting deliberately trying to turn most British Colombians against indigenous people by stoking fears that human rights are zero sum that recognizing indigenous people's rights and and title diminishes everybody else rustad is mining cheap short-term politics that has devastatingly expensive outcomes for British Colombians Aboriginal title exists whether rustad recognizes it or not the courts have been urging politicians to reconcile at the negotiating table for decades the crowns have spent billions of dollars litigating against IND indigenous people in the courts and they keep losing how is that fiscally prudent the problem is unresolved and the liability grows like I said in my Tha editorial rust ad's path forward is morally reprehensible he's advocating that we deny indigenous people the recognition of their human rights it is socially virent turning the majority against the minority is dangerous politics and he needs to be called out and held accountable and it's the long path to economic ruin ignoring the truth and not resolving Aboriginal title leads to a very Bleak future for our Province folks you might be tired of the bcnp government I know I am you might think rustad is the alternative but let this be a warning a BC conservative government under Reckless rustad leads our Province to moral and economic bankruptcy
