ladies and gentlemen welcome back to beat the book I am your host Big Al better joined by my partner in crime Maddie Betts let's get it baby Matty bets you know what we're talking about today I think I do are we talking about the Bears the Bears yes we are we're in the NFC North the Bears they had a uh they're pretty talked about team right now got Caleb Williams got Keenan Allen who am I missing they got is that pretty much um they got romad dun right yep they got Roman dun U they got Cale Williams Roman dun D yep um so their offense looks pretty stacked um we're missing we're missing their running back I thought they added a new one yeah they added DeAndre Swift DeAndre Swift who used to be a uh lion uh so yeah jump to the schedule we're going to give you guys a breakdown on how we think their wins and losses go and um yeah we'll give you predictions uh you ready to hop into this m I am ready when you are I'm pretty excited for this one uh oh me too they actually play my division this year too the Colts they and they actually start week one versus Tennessee Tennessee comes to town how do we see that one playing out there uh it's their first home game of Caleb Williams uh I think everybody's going to be healthy right the first week I like them winning this game against Tennessee I think if if Tennessee is good this year it's going to be a little bit later in the year Levis is going to take a couple games to get going just like he did I agree I think I think the Caleb Williams era starts with a dub which is um pretty cool and they'll be all excited and then all the head be talking about how good bears are going to be and their Super Bowl bound and the new eras here and all this and then exactly so yeah I think they start with a win as well MH week two they travel to Houston yep the riging what um rookie of the year the reigning Rookie of the Year Rookie of the Year some people think he's going to win MVP some people think Houston's going to the Super Bowl I mean exactly it's all hogwash but Houston's very hyped right now yeah people from Houston they really like living in a fantasy world so um we're going to go week two and we're going to keep the train rolling Caleb Williams gets the win over the overhyped Houston Texans really okay I'm take I I am giving them an L here I don't think they're gonna roll into CJ strs land okay and beat him um I think CJ Str will be like hey Caleb I was you last year okay but and uh I'm still me and I'm better than you okay so what you're saying right now is you're part of the problem I'm not a part of anything you're part of the problem the overhype for the pretend CJ's not good well we're going to find out this year because last year they had a really easy schedule and nobody knew how to play them and we see it every year once offenses do really good with a rookie quarterback then defenses they adapt adjust yep yep they do we'll see we saw it with Mahomes Mahomes had a great first year 50 touchdowns and then then th threw for a ton of yards a lot of deep shots next year guess what everybody took the Deep ball away yes they did we're going to we'll see how CJ stoud reacts and hey if he does and he reacts well and then hey you know hats off to him but he's still not going to win the division so it is what it is we will see when we get to that division uh week three they go to Indianapolis yes they L the lad house that's a l they're going to lose that it's going to be a nice two game start for for Caleb Williams for the Bears um but yeah week three it's going to be barely enough like they're going to play a really good game I think I think it's going be a really good game but I think Caleb Williams is going to see the most pressure he's seen in the NFL the Colts are really going to get after him with Buckner and laatu latu on the edge like they're going to get to him I uh I have to agree with you there I think uh yeah I think they take the L in that in that situation as well uh moving on week four the Rams come to Chicago and I got the Rams winning this game bears go two and two two and two through the first four I agree with you I've got the Rams I'm pretty high on the Rams this year so I do have come to town and get the DU the job done there I think Bears fans are going to be I think it's GNA be kind of like an up and down season where it's like they're going to start the season 2 and0 and they're going to be stoked they're going to be like yes Caleb Williams is the truth or team's actually good and then they're going to have two back toback losses and then they're going to be like wait maybe we have to come back down to reality now we're two and two what's going on like mhm right right all right moving on to week five MH Carolina comes to town yeah and that's a win that is a win yeah bear beat the Panthers right there don't over even if Caleb Williams isn't as good as we think he's gonna be because I think think we we both think he's gonna be pretty good like I don't think he's gonna be the best I think he is NFL ready I think as far as rookies go like rookie quarterbacks go you see a bunch come into the league every year I think he is definitely NFL ready and he's going to be ready like you know be the leader in that locker room and lead the team correct and Carolina I just we don't know what they are they have a new coach so I just don't know what that culture looks like and so we're gonna we're gonna fade Carolina so I'm with you on that one uh week six Jacksonville comes to town yeah douy P Trevor Lawrence Travis etn there's another home game for them I mean it's three home games in a row I think Caleb Williams is going to feel really good at home in Chicago and I'm going to give him a win here against Jacksonville too and Trevor Lauren really yeah that's crazy to me I'm taking the Jags to win that game okay uh rookie quarterback Doug Peterson knows what he's doing the Jacksonville is going to be a solid team this year too don't don't get it mistaken they're not just going to suck yeah uh week Seven's a bu week eight they they head over to the commander area and uh what how do you see that gam playay out there I see it being lost you think they lose that one yeah you got to understand I mean it's week eight they've had a buy they've only had two Road games this going to be another road game and they're going to lose it's going to be rookie against rookie it's gonna be Caleb Williams Jen D Dan Quinn Dan Quinn head coach um okay you given him a loss I give them a win there actually okay so you're higher on coming off you're higher on Caleb Williams it's mostly just they're coming off a buy hit the road they're gonna be rested Washington's not and so that's that's my uh that's my take on it week nine at Arizona so second Road game in a row second Road game I really want to give him a loss here but I can't so I'm going to give the Bears the win here in Arizona close game but I'm going to give them the win I did take what you wanted to do which was the L so I gave them an L here um I just don't see them second Road game heading to Arizona I just I don't see them I don't see them any okay uh week 10 um that's New England if I'm reading that correctly you are and that is so New England comes to town yeah that's a win if New England's on the road we're fading them like that's how we're doing it if they're at home I'll think about it but when it comes to the Patriots if they're traveling somewhere give me give me the home team I uh I'm taking the opposite side on that one my friend course you are this guy I mean you're talking it's going to be it's going to start to be getting a little colder what it's it's early November yeah um it's in Chicago yeah that's fine I I think New England uh I think they're going to be I don't think they're going to be good this year but I think they're going to play hard they're going to be in all their games they're just not going to win a lot okay uh and so I think they can go in there and uh shock Shock the World a little bit beating Chicago week 11 Green Bay comes to town it's home against Green Bay I'm going to I think they're going to trade I think they're going to keep it exciting I know that Green Bay normally always beats the Bears they own the Bears I think with Caleb Williams coming in it's going to be a lot of hype around that game it's going to be very exciting fans are going to show up and it's going to be loud and I think it's going to be close game Bears win they I mean they always show up that's a it's the oldest rivalry in sports yeah exactly and I think it's going to be a lot of hype when they do get that win so you've got you've got the Bears taken yep and obviously you're not taking the Bears to beat your Packers obviously I'm not taking the Bears to beat a Packers team that's I mean playoff ready and looks stacked so uh no I will not be joining you on that that ride to Oblivion week 12 uh Minnesota comes to town third straight home game yep played New England then Green Bay then Minnesota comes to town and I'm giving them a win here I am also going to give him a win here yep um I just think last last home game then they go on a three away a three Road game stint so yeah so I like him closing out the home yeah you take care of business at home against the Vikings yep have to do it have to do it week 13 at Detroit not giving him a win here can't the lions are too good they're too stacked and you're going to the Lions if it was a home game maybe think about it but the lions are just offensive Powerhouse and their defense is pretty stacked too so the lions are an allaround team so I'll give the Lions the win there I really like what Dan Campbell's done there I also give the Lions the win there I think uh the Bears will lose that game week 14 it doesn't get easier we head to San Fran that's loss I don't care if anybody's going into San Fran you have to be a very very good team to be able to beat San Fran that's true in Sant CL and I'm I'm right there with you I can't uh can't bet against that and especially a rookie quarterback against that defense you can't I don't care how good of a rookie he is you know week 15 uh they travel to Minnesota on the road to Minnesota I'm going to give him a loss here I think Minnesota takes care of business at home and they're going to split the split the season with yep okay week 16 Detroit comes to Caleb Williams you're just not good enough Lions get another win here too really yep Bears take another loss I am taking the opposite side of that uh Jared Goff does not play good in the no or also on the road in Chicago yeah so Road game cold in Chicago I like that take a lot end of the season that's that's my take on it week 17 Seattle comes to town I'm going to give him a win there against Seattle okay I am taking the opposite side of that one as well I've got Seattle coming in making some noise and getting the getting the job done there at the end of the season and then week 18 they close it out in Lambo field yes exactly and like I said they're going to split with them too so I'm going to take them to get the L here in Lambo field I am right there with you I think the Packers are going to sweep them and uh yeah that is um that's the Bears that is interesting that's the Bears so the books have their line set at N9 and a half okay I'm me guess I'm around 10 over under on total wins you are at nine Oh no you're at 11 no I'm looking at the wrong person yeah I was say you're you're at nine okay you've got them going nine and eight okay I do really do like the under there because I don't really see them getting more wins than I gave them I can see them getting the loss here or there but I don't see them getting more wins than I gave them yeah I've got them going five and 12 yeah well you're also a Packers fan so it's true I have them beating Washington Minnesota Detroit and I have it's even with them giving them a win against the Lions Tennessee and Carolina okay so um yeah I mean it should be an interesting season we'll find out but you're right on the you're right on the number basically I'm right there I'm hanging around I'm dancing you woulds the under feels like the play there unless like I said they come out shock the world I think 9 and a half is just a lot for that
