arrived when all our hard work pays off the late nights of studying rushing to finish essays just before the class embracing ourselves before a cal test and enduring the stress of college applications and acceptances this chapter is closing but a new one is beginning as we say our final High School goodbyes I have one wish for every graduate in this room I have the sincere hope that we are all able to say we are successful and happy in whatever it is you desire to do in this life we will all take different paths whether it's College travel military entreprene ership trade and countless others at the end of the day I hope that we are all able to own the choices that we make the path we encounter will take perseverance Integrity ambition and embracement all traits we have developed over the past four years here it's no secret our freshman year was atypical but we somehow all managed to connect and become friends throughout the challenge of the screens making sophomore year feel a little bit more comfortable as a class we were able to embrace each other in the circumstances that we were given our high school experience met us with particular hurdles such as access to education violence and mental health issues that sometimes made us want to quit walk away and give up I know that no matter the challenges we Face our class is resilient as we start our next chapter the late nights the stress of preparing for a job interview the excitement and nervousness of being independent will all continue the lessons and traits of perseverance integrity and embracement that high school has taught us will continue to assist us in the rest of our lives and our future careers which brings me back to my one wish for us all making decisions about our future brings a lot of pressure as we grow and succeed it is important to remember to pursue what truly makes us happy in life our fund doesn't end here and it will continue on I want to thank you all for the amazing memories we created as a class everybody has an individual path and I hope that no matter where we end up or what we end up doing we are able to say that we love what we're doing this is the end of our chapter together but the beginning of our individual Journeys in the future it is important that we remember we are special we are strong we are independent we are important and we are capable of making a change I have no doubt that any of us will I thank you all for being amazing classmates and to the teachers and administrators that have helped us along the way thank you and I'd like to students family teachers and administration for those of you who may not recognize me my name is Julia Blau and I've had the pleasure and honor of being your class of 24 president our journey starting off at Eleanor Roosevelt High School was unlike any other freshman experiences instead of walking into a new building navigating crowded hallways and sitting next to new faces we started off high school by opening our Chromebooks to our first period Zoom link our entire freshman year was attempting to make connections through screens and keyboards while it may have felt like we were missing out on the typical high school experience we learned how to adapt to this new environment we were put in it wasn't always easy but it helped us grow stronger and more resourceful one of the highlights of my freshman year was my fifth period Zoom class we all put our numbers in the group chat and many of us had never met before yet every day we played an online game of Among Us it surely was not the ideal high school dream but it was our own way of creating friendships and memories in the situation we had been dealt transitioning to in-person school after nearly 2 years of virtual school was intimidating but as we came into Roosevelt it took little time for us to connect and make new memories while it was still not fully traditional it began our spirit having never experienced a pep rally hallway decorations or class night before we came in and showed the resilience and adaptability we had learned in navigating online school we won our hallway decorations and went undefeated on all of our class nights throughout our four years while we worked incredibly hard on our own we also persevered and overcame all the hard obstacles together being at Roosevelt has taught me that although we have the capacity to do amazing things on our own we are much longer standing together from helping each other with assignments encouraging each other in clubs and sports and giving each other ears and arms to lean on our bonds and classmates our bonds and friends were the foundations of our success as we reflect on our high school Journey Let Us carry the invaluable lesson of unity and collaboration as we begin the next chapter of Our Lives let us remember that we are not alone the friendships we created and the support we shared at Roosevelt will continue to guide and Inspire us as we navigate the challenges and successes that lie head so to the class of 2024 I say with the utmost gratitude thank you for the Memories the laughter and the countless moments of growth I would also like to thank the teachers and administrations for helping guide us through all of the ups and downs of high school I would like to thank my family for supporting me in all the crazy ideas and Endeavors I have pursued and lastly I would like to thank my mom although she may not be able to be here today her love and drive has made me who I am and she will forever live through me as we end High School Let Us carry the spirit of Roosevelt within us knowing that together we can accomplish anything congratulations to the class of 2024 thank you for giving me the privilege of being your of 2024 my transformative Raiders your high sk School Journey began amid a global pandemic that mandated four different delivery modes of learning four different we all experienc a pandemic and know the effects but let us take some time to talk about how you transform the experience typically at the core of a high school learning experience there's an educator a teacher there's a student you and a school classroom typically yours also included the following remote learning virtual platforms asynchronous and synchronous timing Blended instruction hybrid new but familiar classrooms which were your homes and your bedrooms new but familiar teachers who were your parents and Guardians and what did you do with that you adapted you continued to learn and apply and became not only transformative learners but also transformative leaders so much so that you were more than prepared for the finale of your senior year it is so fitting that your class color is yellow cuz you have shined the entire journey to get to this moment you all made a decision to evolve and made a decision to keep your eyes focused on the long-term goal you met the expectations you Rose to the occasions I'm sure you all
