this L league coach just stepped away from his son's team so he could pitch for the Red Sox trying a comeback that would make him the oldest pitcher in baseball but is he delusional or is this actually possible he's been on 34 professional teams he is currently the same age as Ronald aunia Jr's dad and was teammates with Greg Maddox he had an erra over six in 2013 wasn't good enough to be in the majors in 2014 his career looked over but nearly 10 years later he was still still pitching an MLB he declined to sign any contract this year so he could coach his son's Little League team but since the Little League season is over he's now agreed to a contract with the Red Sox this is the eighth different time the Red Sox have signed him throughout his career Rich Hill is 44 years old only throws 89 milph and last year had an 8.23 erra with the Padres but after James Paxton got injured the Red Sox were desperate for pitching after throwing in just one minor league game they called Rich Hill to the major league club put him in the bullpen and in his first outing he shut down Toronto pitched an inning in a third got two strikeouts without giving up a single hit making him the only pitcher in baseball to throw at least one inning in each of the past 20 seasons do you think this is a smart move for the Red Socks
