is going on everybody? It is Thursday. This is Kaplan and crew with Grande and the Brown man and as always, we come to you from our home base in southern California, San Diego, and we are in the seven mile casino studios, seven mile casino. Com if you're in San Diego, if you're coming to San Diego, seven Mile Casino is only seven minutes south of downtown San Diego. Easy freeway access open 24 seven. No smoking and amazing food at Sammy's Restaurant and Bar. You're a winner at seven Mile Casino and seven Mile Casino. Com So as we just take to the airwaves today, today is Thursday. And while I would say most of the sports world, including myself, are all thinking about the kickoff of the NFL season tonight between Kansas City and Baltimore, and then tomorrow, Philadelphia and Green Bay from Brazil. And then the whole weekend of college football that's headlined by Texas and Michigan on Saturday. Full slate of NFL on Sunday. While all of us are thinking football, I must tell you guys Grande Brown man, there's a few other stories that we got to get to here today, and that is one I watched. I'm telling you every pitch of last night's Padres Tigers game where the Padres were down five nothing, and they came back and they won 6 to 5. I watched a lot of the Dodgers last night and the angels where the angels jumped on the Dodgers early, and they never let them back in. And then this morning I went on to Instagram and right here in San Diego, one of my all time favorite people in sports, Alex Morgan, the great US soccer player, announced her retirement. So outside of just football, there's a lot of baseball. I got to talk about Alex Morgan and there's a million other things that we're going to get to here in the next two hours, Gran Brown man what up. What's good guys what up. Browner is two. And oh now back to back at Petco Park. The baseball man the good luck charm. The baseball guf the show two. And oh Padres send your boy some season tickets if you want things to get better at home. Because when I show up, they show out. I gotta tell y'all, man, my second day in attendance, you Darvish did not didn't look good. Look like you need a rehab start to teased. On the other hand live looks like he's getting there you Darvish I was worried Tatis looks like he is getting there. His first first couple at bats during the game. He just it looked like he was just working his way for him to get that double. It was clutch for him to get that game winning hit like he needed that way more than the team did. Yeah, just by his outpouring of energy man. So last night was fantastic. Shout out to my people at Parks and Rec a Parks and Normal for hooking your boy up with the seats. Yeah you know Tatis last night in particular not only at the plate which even when he was, you know, hitting the ball and getting out, I mea, the exit velocity was like, you know, 108, 110, whatever. So he was hitting the ball hard as my point outs. But I will also say, you know, he made a great play in right field where he was running in to try and make a catch. He went to dive, but not like forward dive like on his butt dive and he went down. He wasn't going to be able to make the catch, but he got the ball on a one hopper. And by the way, had he not gotten that ball, Jackson Merrill was right behind him to back him up. And by the way, next inning you say Alex that Browner's two and oh, he's been to the last two Padres games and they've won these last two games. Browner God I hate to do this. I hate to do this.s like go ahead. You may have been right at the beginning of the season. What was that. Well when we you and I both of you knuckleheads are wrong about one other thing. But what are you talking about? Well, when you and I, Alex, were talking about how. Okay, great. Jackson Merrill, young kid, 20 years old. Going to start him not sure. Moving shortstop out to center field. Not sure. You know going to wait and see. I was like no, he's a major leaguer right now. He's ready to go. And listen. I'm going to say I think you got a little lucky with that one. But let me just say this, but let me just say this as a baseball evaluator, you talk about this guy knows prospects. Dude. Jackson. What? Jackson. Merrill I this may seem outlandish to people who are tuning in today, especially those that are like us, that are following the Padres in the NL West. Dude, Jackson Merrill may be the best team best player on the Padres. Yeah seriously, it's this young guy has 22 home runs. Do you guys know that? He is very close now. He's getting close to breaking the Padres rookie record for home runs. Do you guys know who has the rookie record for home runsr the Padres? No. Ken Caminiti, no. No good. Good guess, above him, there's Jedd Gyorko. Does anybody remember Jedd Gyorko? I do the name. Yeah. Second baseman, short little fireplug of a guy wound up going, I want to say to Saint Louis and then every time he played against the Padres, he killed him, the other guy is, what's this guy's name? It'll come to me. He was. He has the same name as the guy who was a wide receiver for the, Raiders. Little white guy from Clemson. What was that guy's name? Hunter Renfroe. Hunter Renfroe, Hunter Renfroe. I forgot this completely. Hunter Renfroe, had a had 26 home runs in his rookie season with the Padres. And when I read that, I was like, I don't I don't even remember that. You know, but the guy is on fire. The guy is on absolute fire. And by the way, I, I know I've heard this before and I, I kind of agree with it more. So than ever. 21 years old. That guy looks like he's just out there leading his high school baseball team to another win. And everybody else on that team, all the older guys, all the guys who are making the big money, they're like feeding off this kid and it's amazing. What if he's not hot? He's just good. What if that's the. Because if you look at the batting averages, he's got the second highest batting average behind, arise. He's probably one of their, if not their best defensive player in the center field. And he seems to have a level of energy. And now that they've changed the lineup with that, he's coming back. I was wondering what we see a change in the lineup. We've also seen a change in the lineup as well and the way it's laid out now, I think that fits more to success and cohesiveness than throwing Cronenworth in the third spot and just hoping he gets me, because last night he had some hits hitting in the position, and I think it was fifth. He was hitting last night that he was hitting and then so the lineup has a lot of protection. It's got a lot of comfort in it, and I really like the way that the lineup is set up now. Jackson Merrill is the real deal. He just he just is. He just is. And y'all welcome. Yeah. And the thing is like last night. Thanks, Brian. Yeah we really appreciate that. If it wasn't for your baseball analysis, what would we know, I'll tell you. Listen, somebody's gotta keep this show tight on the baseball end. Right? Well, hey, it's a good thing you know baseball, considering you don't know squat about football. How about that? False. Get it in now. False. Get it in now. Hey, listen, I'll tell you guys, it was interesting last night that when you got to the bottom of the 10th inning and a rise comes up and you've got Merrill on second and I. And a rise is a guy that, you know, if you're Detroit, you're like, this guy is like, the best natural, pure right. Slap hitter and base hit guy in baseball. So you don't really want to give that guy a chance because he'll kill you. And guess what? Here comes Tatis right after him. I mean, I don't think he was the next guy, but like, right after it seemed like you'll have to check me on the lineup. But it was like, who do you want to take your chances with, a rise or Tatis? Tatis is coming back from injury. He hasn't been good yet. And last night I had no idea this was Tatis first ever walk off hit crazy. And you know, you know what's really crazy is, is you never see this a baseball player rounds first gets mobbed by his teammates at second rips off his shirt, throws his jersey into the stands, and there he is doing the postgame interview shirtless. Like you see LeBron shirtless. Okay, you don't ever see a baseball player. And by the way, we're watching the video of it right now. When he starts shaking because they got him with the cold Gatorade watch his right pec Alex. Watch his right. Yeah. It jigglese girls gone wild. Dude Girls gone wild. Jiggle that thing. Oh my God, man, what a night. What are we gonna fight? Are we gonna fight today? Or is that the Tigers? Mad now because he celebrated so vehemently? Are they going to start getting all pissy today? Dude, they. Dude, they were up five. Nothing. Well, my whole point of bringing up the Browns was two, and oh, was my sarcasm because Tatis is now two. And oh, and that's where you two knuckleheads are on the hot seat right now knucklehead. You two, you two smart guys. Padres are better without the tease. Let's see. First of all, we. No one said that. Yes I did, I did, I said it I said they were better without the teams. I did. You did by the way. They still may they listen. We'll have to look. Rigby. Hey, ln and go. Go to the go to after the all Star break and go to go to the two games ago. Okay? And then and then let's take a look at the numbers. In 30 games now there won't be 30 more games, but I said it. I said it at the time and you guys said no. The Padres will be better with Tatis. He's come back. And last night he showed up. Stick around. We're just getting rolling on Kaplan and crew. What a chance it is for Adam Paxton and Victor Tinjum to pick up their first weekly titles. Adam Paxton well, it's been the dream debut so far for him. For Victor teams, he'll feel like this is a moment a little while coming a place in the final up for grabs. For one, she can do it. Make that double 18 away from replacing the final. Wesley Plaisier was beaten knocked out by Mike Warburton in a last leg decider play. That is what they are playing for. They are playing for the trophy, they are playing for the big prize pot and they are playg for a place in the 25,000 pound champions. Week 97. There is a point you feel that reality will surely kick in for Adam Paxton. He's here on debut, a guy who watches the Super Series. Almost every single week. He was happy just to be playing in a group. This could be the leg that we talk about at the end of the night has been the one that changed the final because Adam Paxton has just gone cold at the moment. You don't just get two, he gets the lot. Should take out the 16 out. If not, Mike's just behind him on the fifth leg. Cam Paxton deliver one of the biggest moments of his career so far. He can double 12. What a moment that is from Adam Paxton. Mike Warburton was looking at 60 to win the match. Paxton here's your moment. He approaches the hockey with confidence with time and delivers Adam Paxton on debut. The boy the fan boy comes to the super Series and wins. Man it is hot out. Jack. Seriously, I don't know about you guys. I had no air conditioning in my house. None. Zero. No air conditioning. It's on right now. Yeah, I'm kind of cold, actually. What? What kind of what kind of life do you live in, bro? What do you mean? You ain't got no air conditioning in your house. I mean, I ain't got no air conditioning in my house. You ain't got a fan nowhere near you. Got a fan? I got a fan right underneath my chair right now. And it is blowing directly up to my groin. What's So is this a situation where you don't turn it on or you don't have it? No. It's a situation where I don't have it. Yes, you do have air condition. No, I do not have it. I do a lot of houses near the beach. Don't. They don't need it, bro. Can you do me a favor? Can you come over here, and look around and see if I got air conditioning? Cuz I don't have air conditioning. It'd be hilarious. I could have sworn he was mad at your kids about turning on the air last year. No the heat are you feel me? You feel me? I don't think it. Yeah, this segment of Kaplan and crew is being brought to us by our guy, Gary Cooper at Mountain Trust Mortgage and Realty Services. Like I always tell everybody, it doesn't matter where you are in this country, you could be right here in San Diego. You could be in Southern California. Because Gary really specializes in San Diego and Riverside County, but it doesn't matter. You can be in another part of the country. My boys are all listening in Philly right now. Hey guys, if you need to buy a house, sell a house, or you want to talk about a home equity line of credit, you never make a move in real estate without talking to our guy, Gary Cooper. Here's his number 858376 1299 858376 1299. You may be thinking to yourself, why do you give out his phone number? Well, because I've been doing it for over 20 years. And here's what happens. Nobody remembers the number. And then all of a sudden, somebody needs my man Gary. And then they text me and they go, hey, what's your boy's number? Eight, five, eight, three seven, six, 1299. You never, ever, ever make a move in real estate without first talking to Gary Cooper. And if you don't believe me, that young, good looking guy up in the upper corner. That guy has lived it. He has dealt with it. That's why he got that condo with that air conditioning. All because of Gary Cooper needed it. That was one of my oh no nos. If there was no AC. Oh no, no, I'm not buying that house. Yeah yeah. Because I know what happens in September through October in this city. I've just adjusted my fan now. It's like blowing directly like right into my midsection. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. It's good. It's real good. Belly button. Your belly button. Nice and cool. Little South. Little further south. You know what I'm saying? Anyway, listen, hey, last night was a remarkable night because not only did the Padres win and Yu Darvish, who came out and look, he didn't have any rehab start. He's been with the team a couple of weeks. They throw him back out on the mound and they're like this. This would be my thinking if I were the Padres. I assume this is they're thinking, hey, we didn't think we were getting him back. This is like, you know, an added bonus. We had no idea we were going to get him back this year. So the fact that we're in the middle of a playoff race and we got back our most veteran, experienced, high paid pitcher, throw him back out there and whatever happens, happens and hopefully we can cover for him. If he's not great, which he wasn't, he was okay. A lot of movement on his ball, but he wasn't great. And let's see what happens and let's start getting him built up so that we can use the month of September to build him for a playoff run in October. And by the way, while the Padres were putting Yu Darvish back on the hill, Bobby Miller for the Dodgers was in Anaheim going against the angels and getting annihilated. And he gave up a three run home run to a guy by the name of Mickey Moniak. Now this will annoy the hell out of you. Yeah that's right, that's right. This will annoy you. This will annoy the hell out of you. But let me have my tim. I love following the local kids. Mickey Moniak went to high school right here, five miles north of where I'm at. He was the number one overall pick coming out of high school by the Philadelphia Phillies. And now he's a very under the radar kind of player with the Anaheim Angels. Los Angeles. And he hit a bomb home run last night off Bobby Miller. I think I could hit a home run off Boy Miller right now. You do do you? Come on, come on. That guy's not good. At least right now, he was last year. I mean, take a look at his numbers. Last night. Five innings pitched, seven earned runs, gave up three home runs, and, you know, just did not look good at all. Did not look good at. All, right. Yeah Oh, man. But last night, though, another example of the stark differences between 2023, 2024 and San Diego. Five zero, two innings in last year. That thing's over. Done this year. Everybody's leaving. This year we're. Hey, Brown is sticking around. You know Brown is sitting there like I ain't g anywhere. This game is just getting started. Now let me help you. Let me help you. Because when it was five to nothing I said they better score at the bottom of this inning or I'm out of here. I'm surprised. Dude, it had that feel to it where people were trying to find anything to cheer for whoever operate the scoreboard. God bless your heart because you was pulling every trick out your hat to get people to clap, or to be energetic, or to just like, be into the game because people were so excited for Yu Darvish to be back. And when he kept giving up walks or a hit and a run, a walk or a hit and a run, a walk or a hit and a run was like, oh my God. And then you bring in his replacement, whose name I forget. Little Chinese man. He gave up a home run immediately. Padres have a Chinese pitcher. No they don't. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Suey. Yeah he ain't Chinese. I said Japanese, I fixed it. Well, I mean, come on, man. And then he gave up a home run, and that was five to nothing. And people are looking at each other like, oh man, oh man, this is going to be an early Wednesday night for us. And then here come the bottom of that inning. Here come the bottom of the fourth. And they came out flaming. It should have been 5 to 5 at the end of the at the end of the inning. But nevertheless they got the two back the following inning. But but don't forget, don't forget late in the game, I want to say it was the seventh and the eighth inning. It may have been the sixth and the seventh inning. It doesn't really matter. You guys can go back and take a look for yourselves. There were back to back innings where the Padres loaded the bases and got nothing, you know, and they had a chance. They had the bases loaded. They had Manny Machado coming up to bat. Yeah. And they got nothing, you know, by the way, Manny Machado, since he stopped running to first base. So since he started running to first base again, have you guys seen his numbers since that day when we all called him out for about a week. But what? I can tell you something happened to him getting back to first base, and he did not look good. He was laboring for most of the game around the bases. He seemed to find that third, but for most of the game when he got on base, he was laboring. He was grabbing and pulling at something. He was stretching stuff at first base, and he was takig forever to get back from second on, on on foul balls and yeah, I was watching him closely because, you know, I was there. We do know you were there. Yeah, I was there. And you said you were going to be sitting so close that if you Darvish didn't pitch well, he would hear you boo. And during the game when he wasn't pitching well I said yo can Darvish hear you booing? And you were like nah you didn't boo him did you boo you? Because if you booed, it sounds like you because when he left the game in the third inning, people were like, yeah, they were clapping. And then all of a sudden it was like a smattering of boos. But I thought it was boos. So I was like, boo boo, you coward, you coward. You should have just gone out. Well, hey, listen, let me just say this, yesterday, browner got into it on Twitter with a bunch of charger fans, like ten of them. Okay, today the charger fans tried to make it seem like Jim Harbaugh was at the Padres game last night. We'll talk about that coming right back on Kaplan and crew. What has happened? What has transpired here at the first Bank center here in Denver, Colorado? It wasn't just a big night of fights. It was a big night of memorable moments. Conor McGregor with us here in Denver, Colorado. The left hand from Rockhold. Right hand right back from Mike Perry. And right now three. And oh and Casey can I get a face off with Conor McGregor. Man that'd be. It's an incredible setup here. Incredible matchmaking incredible storytelling. All you had to come here. All these fighters that step in here are warriors and all have my respec. And I'm into this game. Yeah, we'll be into this. Yeah And we are live here in the Maverik Center here in Salt Lake City, Utah. Folks. What a night. It is going to be historic indeed for UFC 56. Whoever's the king of violence right here, this is going to be a great fight. Carry on the track for left and right hand. Right hand for Mike Barry. Double check. Who's the king of Thailand? I am combat fighting in its purest form. Bare knuckle fighting in the city of Angels. 80s remaining round number one. What is it? We've got the biggest announcement in the BKFC history. We're about to make. So let's make that announcement. What's up? Knuckle mania? The notorious Conor McGregor here. Ladies and gentlemen, the huge announcement that I have for you today, Conor McGregor, myself and McGregor Sports and Entertainment is now an owner of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. Welcome to the big leagues, David Feldman. Baby. We did it. He's now an owner of BKFC with us. And we're going to take this thing all the way to the top. Now Yo! Great friends. Hey it is Thursday, by the way. I said on Tuesday when we came back after the Labor Day holiday, I was going to say it was Monday and Monday and Monday over and over again. And I never really did. Today, for whatever reason, I thought today was Friday. What is today's Thursday? It is right. Today is Thursday. Yeah, because tonight's the kickoff of the NFL season. You got Kansas City and Baltimore. There's a game tomorrow. So it's confusing right. And then you got Philadelphia and Green Bay tomorrow. Hey so this morning I get a message from somebody. They said this to me. They go, hey did you see Jim Harbaugh the Chargers coach? Did you see Harbaugh at the Padres game last night. And I went, now hold on a second, because last night I was, I'm going to let you guys know right now. Your boy right here. I will become an emotional wreck in probably the next month. Like it's going to take me time. I'm pretty sure of it right now because my daughter, who's getting ready to be. I'm going to drop her off at college. This is in less than a week and change, she's been kind of running around doing things, seeing people before she goes. And I have been kind of by myself, bro. I'm telling you right now, I'm getting super lonely that my last child is getting ready to go off to college. That's right. Okay so if all of a sudden I'm calling you guys on a Wednesday night, like, what are you doing tonight? Like, are you available? Would you like to have dinner? That was me last night. I got done with with the ESPN LA show. I drove. Are you what am I what does cut mean? Are you. Is that am I are you are you able to. Am I able to if you chose to. If am I able to reproduce? Yeah. Well, you know, I had a vasectomy. That's what I'm asking. Are you I don't remember, yeah, a vasectomy dog. Okay, I was saying, like, if you're lon, you could loan me a kid. I rent you a kid. How long are we talking? No, dude, I tried to rent my kids when I was in your shoes. I'm not doing. I'm not renting anybody's kids. Uncle. Uncle Scott can handle it for an hour or two, but that's about it, and I'm here to help you, by the way. So here's the thing. Not me. How about you? I'll help you. I said, not me. I said, not me. No, you're not, you're not, you're not not. You're here to help. No, you're not here. Available to babysit. Okay. Got you one or 2 or 3 of them. Or 4 or 4 for that matter, yeah. Alex got his hands full with his own. With his dog. Forget about it. So last. So I get this tweet. Somebody sends me a tweet and they said, hey, did you see Jim Harbaugh at the game last night? I'm like, hey, listen, I got I was lonely. I went over to Rachel's house. I hung out with her and her two sons. We watched the entire Padre game, the every pitch. I mean, I didn't miss one thing. And m like, I didn't see Jim Harbaugh at the Padre game last night, and they didn't say anything about him being there on TV. I didn't see him up on the jumbotron, and I'm like, there's no way that in week one, when Jim Harbaugh is getting ready to take on the Raiders at SoFi Stadium, that Jim Harbaugh on a Wednesday night is driving down to San Diego. Now, by the way, he got a house down in Coronado. He got close friends down here. But somebody sent this tweet of Harbaugh in the stands wearing a Padres jersey and a Padre hat. And I'm like, that cannot possibly be from last night. And that is apparently what was being said on Twitter is that that is an old picture, not from last night. But you know what worried me about this is what we were talking about yesterday. The Chargers doing like a preseason tour where they're doing an appearance over here in El Segundo and a and an appearance in the Inland Empire and one down in Orange County. And they had the balls to come into San Diego County and have an appearance. And I'm like Harbaugh played for the Chargers. Harbaugh coached at USC. Harbaugh has a house in Coronado. Is Harbaugh going to convince the ownership that, hey, we got to go and get the San Diego fans back? And he's going to show up at a Padres game midweek? Padres gear. Gosh, I hope that's not the case. And I'm worried that it might be. You need to worry about Jim Harbaugh turning that team around, not his marketing capabilities, because that's the only thing that's going to turn that team around is that's it. The perception of San Diegans. Because I tell you what, man, more and more I go out and talk to people that used to be Chargers fans that used to is now becoming am again. You know what I'm saying? You're saying that people who said I used to be a charger fan are saying I am now a charger fan again because of Jim Harbaugh. Yes. Oh, that's so I think Harbaugh being part of this organization and his ability possibly to turn things around on the field is way more valuable than him telling the Spanos, hey, wed to go to San Diego and be cool in there again, you know, does that make sense? Like it makes a lot of sense. It makes a lot of sense. Because the problem is, is that is that when the Chargers left people rooted for their failure, and every time they had like an ounce of success more and more people got back on their bandwagon. If Jim Harbaugh turns the Chargers around and they all of a sudden become a playoff team or a real contender, there will be people like me who swore they'll never cheer for the Chargers again, and there will be people that will not be able to help themselves. For those of you that are like me and you're a front runner. Front runners. Guys, guys, don't ever stop, okay? Find a new team. Root against them. Become a Raider fan. I don't care what you do. Do not ever give up your hate. For those of you that already gave it up, you've done your thing. For those of you that are standing strong with me, stand strong brother, I told y'all this would happen. I forecasted this a while ago. He's telling you people who he is talking to who are. I'm no longer. They're starting to use terms like we when it comes to talking about the Chargers. Again, I this is going to happen and all they play the game yet they play the game when nothing's happened yet. Yeah that's my point. Nothing's nothing's happening. It's happening. Nothing's happening. Don't tell me to come back. You're not even there. You're acting like you're there. You ain't there. All right. This segment of Kaplan and crew, presented by our friends at Mountain Trust Mortgage and Realty, confused by browner. I know he's just all over the place. They stick around. We're just getting rolling. The Bostonian versus the book. Would it make you feel better as a bettor or as a sports fan? If they said after the game we were trying to cover the spread? Oh God, to say it out loud, oh my God, know what to say it out loud. Oh my God, you can't say that out loud. No you can't even you can't do that okay, so what is the big deal either way. Oh play the game. The right way. The Bostonian versus the book. I feel like the first person to take a kicker in fantasy football is somebody that feels like, man, I had a really bad draft. Let me make sure I get the best kicker out of the way. I've always I've always looked at it that way, like, oh, I did so bad. So let me take Justin Tucker. The key for me is though, I make marks, okay. This guy, I I'll highlight him because I don't want 3 or 4 of these guys. I draft 3 or 4 of these guys and they all get hurt. I have no one to blame, but me. Fantasy sports today only on sports grid. When you're really, really amazing like this, people kind of take it for granted. Same with Ohtani, right? People will sort of see Ohtani did this. Ohtani did that. And it's sort of, you know, becomes normalized a little bit. But to put it in context. Aaron Judge joins the 1000 hit club, reaches, gets it done. So earlier this month he was the fastest player to reach 300 home runs ever. Sports rage late night. Only on sports grid. Let's go. Welcome to the Liv golf team championship. The golf has been mesmerizing. They are the Liv golf team champions. Team golf is back. Oh, yes. Are you ready? Let's go. Ths what champions do. Yo, yo yo. Great friends. Hey. What's up? This is Kaplan and crew with Grande and the Brown man. We are in the sen mile casino studios in home base San Diego, California. And wherever you are watching on YouTube, on Sports Grid, you're listening on channel one, 59, on Sirius XM. You're catching up to us on your own time on any of the audio podcast platforms or wherever you're watching, wherever you're listening. We really appreciate you guys. Hey, one other little quick note. Go ahead. Go ahead. No, go do your note, because I need I never do this, but I literally need to I need answers from the last segment about browner, okay? Because the lines are very blurry, right now and I need them established for the 2024 NFL season. Okay, great. Because I was about to get into Kansas City and Baltimore. I want to talk about Philadelphia and Green Bay. I want to look ahead to the NFL weekend. I'm and by the way, I want to hear from Justin Herbert, who's now off the injured list. I want to hear from Jim Harbaugh. I want to hear from Davante Adams, who says to everybody, hey, stop putting words in my mouth. I want to I want to get ready for this weekend. But I do want to just say this, Alex, great job by you today by sending out an email to all of our subscribers telling them about the big show that we've got coming up today, which we do. We're in the middle of it right now. We're at the beginning of the second quarter, if you are not a member of our email list, here's what I'd like for you guys to do. Go to Kaplan and Crew comm, scroll to the bottom of the website, put in your email address and you will join our email newsletter list. We only send it once a week. We don't spam you. I get email all day long from lots and lots and lots of companies. Delete delete, delete, we only send you one a week and we sent it out earlier this morning. We said, hey, we're going to be talking about the NL West race. We're going to be talking about the kickoff of the NFL season. We're going to talk about Alex Morgan and her retirement. And here's all of our sponsors, and here's some of our polls and all that stuff is in our email. Go to Kaplan and crew comm and get all up in it. Go ahead Alex okay. Just because yesterday browner was the one that sent this this meetup in OB and was like, that's not the flex. You think it is. Like, this ain't going to this ain't proof. Nothing about no charger fan base in San Diego. And now you're like, come on back, y'all. Come on back like because Harbaugh is here. So what? Just tell me where you stand. So where are you at? You can do whatever you want. Like, are you a full on charger fan that thinks San Diegan should be charger fans or are you or whatever? What are you? I'll tell you what he is. I'll. I'll tell you right now what he is. He's a provocateur. He is the six foot, seven inch black man that is Skip Bayless on this show. That's who he is. What you say about that you skip. That's I mean I mean that is that is like the whitest thing possible. You know what I mean. He called him Skip. Let me be okay. Let me let me speak. Yeah I didn't call him Stephen B he called Stephen B yeah, I called that brother Skip. Does that make you Lil Wayne? Scott Oh, no. Please, no. Anyways, I to clear something up just so we don't have any confusion going forward. I am a charger fan. This is not a mystery. This is not a debate. This is not a clouded situation. But what I also don't want is people out here fronting like some is. And it ain't. Because the way that they tried to make it seem was that the Padres don't have their fans getting together like the Chargers do here locally. And I was commenting on that per se. Okay. Far more than I was commenting on my charger fandom and whether people should or shouldn't come back. I've been saying this for a while. I told Scott this a while ago, come on back. All right. Let's let's. All right. Alex, you just I just want to say instantly I can't have nobody bashing the Padres. I can't have that. Okay? I just want to say this instant reaction, instant reaction right now in our live YouTube chat, I see for example, JD, JD Ocampo, one of our all time faves. Okay, Alex, look at this. JD says give me a break. No one with a spine s jumping back on that team. You tell him, JD, you tell him, then you got Louis Escobedo. My man Louis says browner is a Chargers fan. Facts, facts, facts I'm telling y'all right now. Listen, when they start winning, when they start with look at everywhere Harbaugh goes, they win bro. Okay? Whether it's lonely University of San Diego where they don't even know they play football, or whether it was the San Francisco 40 niners, whether it was Stanford who isn't known as a historical football power, where Michigan was in the dumps, walked off the scene with a national championship. Now they told him, don't come back, but nevertheless, everywhere he go, he wins. Big fat Tony. Yeah. No. Hey, Fat Tony, you tell him, Fat Tony, okay? You tell him, Fat Tony charger hater for life. And then you got dead meow. Who puts up his he dead meow says, you know, come on, become a charger man. And there you go. Be like browner. Embrace your chargers. Then you got Bernard Thompson. Be all up in it. Chargers are trash. You tell him. Be Tom I disagree be I disagree I disagree. Then you got what is this one Miss Molly. Whoa whoa. You go girl you go kid show yeah it is a kid show. It's not a kid show. Yeah, there's look at your father. Look at your father. My dad, Charles Gooden, right here. Get rid of Spanos. I might reconsider. What's up? My dad. What's up there you go, Brian Burkett, I want to root for the Chargers. However, the ownership is so terrible. That's exactly right. Listen, the ownership ain't made. One tackle that I can recall in the historyf the organization. So you know, enjoy the entertainment, man. Y'all, we finally we as I say my charger I love that I love that charger, brethren. Okay Don't don't try to do that. Don't. Why don't you try my what am I going to do. WhatI going to do? My you trying to you trying to you trying to talk me off the topic. My 25% charger brethren. Okay. We got an eight one coach. We got an eight one quarterback. Let's celebrate that baby. Anytime, anytime. This guy just defended this panel saying they never make no tackle any moment. This guy can clown on Jerry Reinsdorf. He will. Yeah, but that's what. Yeah, but what's the same thing? It'se same thing, right? I know, Dean Spanos is to San Diego what Jerry Reinsdorf was to Chicago, and then here you are. Yeah, here. Here Well, is Jerry Reinsdorf still alive? Unfortunately yeah. Is he really? Yeah. I didn't know Jerry Reinsdorf was still alive. I listen, listen, he rich. He had a good run. He. I think he in his 80s. It's time for him to go. You sound like Mad Dog. You sound like Mad Dog right now. Mad dog killed off Jerry Jones on on first take the other day, and they all went off after him. You know, same thing. He's 82. He can go any day. Dude, my boy Sedano in LA killed off Fred Biletnikoff. The other day. He just knocked him right off. You don't know who Fred Biletnikoff is? No, no. The Biletnikoff Award. Yeah. Well, if you would ask me, is he alive or dead? Probably would have been like that. Sounds like an old name. I thought Reinsdorf was dead. Because what was dead? Because I guess I must have confused Reinsdorf. And maybe. Was it Jerry Krause? Was he the general manager? Jerry Krause is dead. Yes. Because remember the whole thing with his wife? Yeah. His wife in the stands. And then, like, was it and then wasn't wasn't the, the main villain in Space Jam based off Jerry Kraus? Yes. Yes. Yeah. The big fat alien. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I still have my laminated charger hater club card in my wallet. That's right. Joseph, you can keep it, but you can. I just don't understand how you can. You can be a charger fan, do whatever you want, but why do you have a stack of charger hater cards? Then you're going to hand out to people. Because again, I don't know. I don't know why I keep explaining this to y'all. They always in arm's reach. I am a man of the people. If this is what the people desire as a member of this show, every all of us should have these. In case people want one because it's a part of the show. So therefore I give our people what they desire. Okay. All right. So you're so you're you're a charger fan who carries around charger hater club cards for you. Hey, you know what, man? You know what? You're a hell of a good guy. You know, I don't care what. I don't care what Alex says about you. You're. I think he's a terrible person. Oh, yeah. I love it. Oh, man. It's great. Oh, it's hilarious. I it's it honestly, like, I feel like at least in the chat, we don't ever get more reaction than when we talk about this subject. I know, here's Joey B who says, don't be a bitter ex. Seven years later, f f Dean Spanos and go bolts. No, no, I don't care. Browns are losing all credibility. You tell him, Andre Prado. That's right. It's all Prado. Hey And then Louie, Louie standing up for you. Louie Escobedo says, let him be Ron. I said he can do whatever he wants. And that was the quickest post takedown I've seen so far. I know you did take that thate really quick. I clicked it on accident. I was trying to click out of the old pro. Really? Y'all see how you do. Yeah. Yeah. Oh there it is. Let him be grand. Anyway. You did it on accident too I did it I did it. Yeah. Yeah. Now I did it on X. You did what I did I don't get it right. Smart guy. Hey listen I want to send a quick shout out to one of my college buddies, Brian Felguérez, who goes to what high school. What's his nickname? Big cheese. I don't know what his nickname is. And he's. No, his name is the guys. His nickname is the Goys. And as far as what high school he went to, let me tell you something. Right now, I'm gonna talk about these things. You wrap around your arm and you get injured. Hey Chiefs Chiefs, Chiefs, Ravens tonight. Wait till I tell you who I'm excited to see because I followed him since high school. Guys I'm shouting you out all the way in Philadelphia listening on Sirius XM. 159 stick around NFL season kicks off. Anyone that's been to a sporting event, the atmosphere before a game. I think game time decisions has that same exact atmosphere. This is our arena. This is what we do. There is going to be an energy to game time decision that you will feel night in and night out. The excitement you get when you when you lock your bets in, when you're figuring out what you want to do. We can zone in on the biggest games each night. I want this to be the place that people come to before the game start, so they feel as ready as possible to lock in their cards. We are going to hit every single one of those markets that you need to know about. We're going to go through every single thing, and I've got a great team behind me that's going to help me get the job done. There is not going to be a better place, I promise you, than game time decisions to get that new information, react to it and be able to then bet accordingly. We will have everything at our disposal and we will use that to our advantage. I'm Kevin Walsh. Tune in to game time decisions from 6 to 8 p.m. eastern on Sports Grid. He's blocked well and tries to cut through the middle. Oh your gut says Miami is going to win and you should take the over. You could also set your NFT. Selfies would only go up in value. They didn't. But your head is on Sports grid and knows the QB is in concussion protocol. The backup has a 45 QBR against the zone coverage. The New York team has the most sacks in the league. So yeah, trust your head. It's smarter to be on sports grid. Let's go. Welcome to the Liv Golf team championship. The golf has been mesmerizing. They are the Liv golf team champions. Team golf is back. Oh, yes. Are you ready? Let's go. That's what champions do. Alright. Great friends. Hey, this is Kaplan and crew with Grande and the Brown man. And we are in our home base, San Diego, Southern California. We're in the seven mile casino studios, seven mile casino.com. All right, so tonight you've got the kickoff of the NFL season. And when I say the kickoff, this is going to really irritate you guys. Just like earlier in the show when I mentioned Mickey Moniak hitting a three run home run last night off of Bobby Miller in that Angels Dodgers game tonight. Hey, guys, you know who's returning to his football life for the Kansas City Chiefs tonight? San Diego connection. Ooh. Grande San Diego State connection. Oh oh Kawhi Leonard my high school football right here in San Diego. Rancho Bernardo high School, San Diego State, all American drafted and then booted legitimately, and no pun intended, booted out of the NFL. And now back in the NFL after being, you know, all charges were dropped. Anybody got got the name. Oh the punt. God. That's right. That's right Matt Ariza he's the punter for the Chiefs. He's remember don't you remember he got signed. But by the way you talk about you don't remember that. No. Oh yeah. Dude check it out. Remember that. Go to their roster dude think about this. You're the Kansas City Chiefs. Think about this. You're Andy Reid. You make $25 million a year. You've won all these Super Bowls. Now you're the favorite to win the Super Bowl again. And guess what? Nobody can tell you anything okay. And so when they had that kid Harrison Butler who went to Browner's old college Benedict, they have the most controversial kickers in in the league. Yes. That's that's what I, that's what I'm getting at. You know, they, they got a kicker who goes to Benedictine College in somewhere in small town Kansas and tells women, hey, it's nice that you got your degree, get your in the kitchen. I mean, that's what the guy said. And then they got mad. Eliza, who was who was at. We all now know, was erroneously charged with, you know, some sort of sexual misconduct, but nobody tells Andy Reid anything because he's like, I like that kicker. I like that punter. I don't care what his religious beliefs are. I don't care what accusations he had to face. He's been proven innocent. Guess what? I'm going with both of these guys. How about that. How about that? Listen, in terms of one, I like it. I'm glad he's getting another opportunity to kick that thing. I think that feet in the air, the other guy you know. Good luck to you, man. Good luck to you. I like how the Chiefs not only were like yeah we don't we not only don't care about what these two say or have done or have been accused of, we're going to give Harrison Booker the most money anyone's ever given a kicker in the history of kickers. That's how much we don't care. Yeah. And two, in all honesty, because they're back to back Super Bowl champions. Their offseason has not really there has been more talk about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce and Travis Kelce's new deal and all this other stuff. And not one of their players got into a car accident, hit somebody, or ran off on the freeway. Not that the Harrison Buckner thing got a lot of kickback, but that was more political than anything. And then you bring in Matt Harrison like they don't. We're winning so no one cares. You can't say anything negative about us because we're back to back champions. And even when we do something negative, that player y'all going to leave him alone too. Because we just going to tell y'all. Hey, we also got Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid. So go talk to them. And am I alone in this I'm a huge Travis Kelce fan I really like Travis Kelce. The player here comes and I and but I can I just okay but but you ready is anybody else kind of getting like a little oversaturated with Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce. Like Jason Kelce has that that one commercial on ESPN now where he's kind of like you know yelling and screaming like he's a wrestler. I kind of like Jason Kelce. Travis Kelce has got a new commercial. I see now I don't know if it's for like Lowe's or Home Depot or somebody like that with him and Christian McCaffrey where McCaffrey is trying to decide like which hardwood floor he's going to ge. And Kelsey's like standing over him like, you know, chomping in his ear about what. Have you guys seen that one yet at all. No. Because the only thing that I watch with commercials is sports. So if the when sports start, I'll let you know. I haven't seen a commercial since the Super Bowl. I saw a commercial on, Twitter, and I purposely sought it out. And y'all have to now do the same. It's the Lions head coach as an Applebee's assistant. That's a good manager. That thing is hilarious. That's a winner. I haven't seen that one. You would love it. Alex. Yes. Don't tell him about it, bro. Don't tell him, okay? They're gonna know. They're gonna know what? Who's what? You'll get it. You'll get it once you get it. When you see it. All right. Hey, Alex. Put it up on the screen for everybody. The Chiefs and the Ravens tonight. Let's kind of get it all set up, because I'm thinking that it's the first game of the season and the last time I bet on football was the Super Bowl. And I Chiefs to win. I made a pretty significant bet. And I don't want to tell you how many units and I won that bet, I'm also going to be playing a ton of prize picks tonight just on this game alone. So if you put that back up on the screen, Chiefs Ravens, Chiefs favored by three. The defending Super Bowl champions are home inside of Arrowhead Stadium where it's one of the most hostile places to play in in all of the NFL, the overunder tonight is 46.5, and I guess they've decided to change the name. So tonight, kickoff, you guys tell me, how will you bet this game? Will you take Kansas City to lay the points? Will you take Baltimore to end the points? And in the overunder at 46.5, that's what I'm betting. Okay talk to me I don't I don't touch spreads. Week one, 2 or 3 I gotta wait to see who. Probably week one and two. I'll make bets, but I won't. I'm not going to tell people this is the way to do it. Over 46.5 easy money, easy money. Last year that game, I believe, was they finished at like 43. But the you know the Chiefs now have an offense. They now have receivers. Rashee rice is not suspended. And this kid Xavier Worthy is fast as hell. Dude So I like what the Chiefs I like Derrick Henry I like Mark Andrews is healthy on the Ravens side. Yeah I think Zay flowers is ready to have a breakout season. I love both offenses. The Chiefs lost some guys on defense, I like the over a lot 40 over 46.5. Okay, I'm also going to play, I'm going to be playing some, like, rushing like Isaiah Pacheco from the Chiefs last year. I literally played that guy in every single playoff game last year. And I'm looking at Isaiah Pacheco today and his more or less number on prize picks is 61.5 rushing yards. So I don't really know about the rushing yard total, but I'm also going to go into the rushing and receiving touchdowns and I got to figure like Derrick Henry. You ready? Derrick Henry. More or less than half of a rushing slash receiving touchdown. To me that's an easy one I'll take that for the Lamar Jackson one and a half pass rush reception touchdown. You like that one too. Yeah we were talking about that one yesterday so I we'll build we'll build a card for tonight for sure a little bit later on. I'm also is here. Are you all going to be sitting down and just like, because, you know, baseball opening day is one thing. Football opening day feels like a holiday. Yeah, I got nothing tonight. I'm sitting here ad I'm watching every minute of that game and commercials. I will be parked on the bench watching my kids play tee ball. Well, I don't know what the hell it's called. That first day of practice. Great job coach, way to lose weight. Way to lose a participant. Oh, really? Okay, I guess we'll have to hear more about that. Stick around. Everybody, this is Kaplan and crew. We're in the seven mile casino studio, seven mile casino.com, and yeah, I'm going to build a cart, and I'm playing this game tonight. Buy or sell. Anthony Richardson will be a top seven fantasy quarterback this season. We're keeping this realistic here. We know that. Nobody would think that he'll be in the top three. Probably not even the top five. How about top seven George by herself. You know if he stays healthy. Top five is not out of question here at all. He's a running quarterback. We know how valuable they are. Valuable they can be. My worry is going to be what I mentioned when we talked about the, the Indianapolis Colts. Boy and Pippen were to go down. There's not a lot to throw to. He'll be running for his life here. But, time there, I like Mixon a lot. Small sample size of what we saw of what he's going to be. If I play for five games last year before the injury here. So we're a longer season. We'll see if he can catch up to him, what he can do. He's going to have to prove he can throw the ball down the field here. I'm going to buy this all right? I'm going to buy I want to buy on Anthony Richardson I want him to be that guy because I want to see the excitement that he can bring, that I, I think, you know, smart money might say, take me, go the other way because there are so many quarterbacks in that tier that, hey, he can have a good year and still not finish top seven. That being said, I think he will show just like he did last year. He's going to be dynamic. I'm buying top seven. Yeah. Reminds me so much of Cam Newton in the early days too. I'm going to sell I'm going to sell on this. I think it's too high. I think most leagues, take away points for interceptions. If that's the case, I think his numbers are going to be 20 something touchdowns. 1516 something interceptions. That's going to negate some stuff, yes, he will run. Can he play an entire season? Still very questionable for me. I have him as the ninth best fantasy quarterback at the end of the season, just outside the top seven. So I'm going to go sell on that. Big shout out to my guy Rick Borba from the Gaslamp Tavern in downtown San Diego, Rick, we are so excited for the kickoff of the football season. And me and Browner and Gran were talking before the show about the things that we plan on doing down at the Gaslamp Tavern and Paddock on fifth and oh, by the way, this upcoming weekend is the final weekend at Del Mar. So listen, the big horse racing venues on the East Coast, Saratoga on the West coast, Del Mar, we're getting ready to kind of wrap up the summer meets. I don't really play Saratoga, so they may, for all intents and purposes, they may be done already. But for me, for Del Mar, this upcoming weekend is the last weekend. If you can't make it to the track, you go down to the Gaslamp Tavern. You go up to the third floor, you go to paddock on fifth. You make your bets at the off track betting facility that they've got right down there. But Brown, I'm so excited, man. Sunday football viewing parties will start to put out a schedule on that. We're going to do some live broadcast down there, we're stoked to be in business with Rick and the Gaslamp Tavern 100%. Absolutely. Y'all already know how I feel about that area in that space. We're about to do a lot of things in there, and they got the espresso martinis on tap. Hey, by the way, I see you in our live YouTube chat talking about how much I know you will. I see you in our live YouTube chat, talking about how much money it cost to buy equipment for your kids to play like t ball, bro, listen to me, listen to me. You need to come to my house. You need to come to my house. You need to go into my garage and you need to take all the sports equipment I have from when my kids were playing. Dude, I got, I got sports equipment from when my daughter, who's now 17, about to be 18. She's going off to college. This is going to happen, not this Tuesday, but the following Tuesday. Dude, I've got softball helmets with, like, the face mask, like she's a quarterback. Three of those throws. I got it all in the garage, bro. It's all I got. Baseball bats, I got I, I got cleats. You name it, I got it, bro I got and listen I was going to take it. You know those hand-me-down stores they like here in San Diego. They play it again sports where you can buy used sports equipment. Yeah Dude, come to my house. Take it. It's all yours. Free I will I was I was blown away when I got to the register because we were just having fun, like, oh, you trying to tell me? No. And then we measure in the back and can you hold it out on your arm and all that other stuff? Bro, we got to the register. I didn't I didn't ask how much. None of this stuff was tee ball. It can't be that expensive, bro. When you start paying for everything three times and I always forget this until it's time to pay. When you start paying for everything. Three times I started asking questions like do they really need three bats? They can share one? Yeah, why can't you share a bat? The only bat won once at a time. That's what I was. Listen, I'm gonna have this conversation with the coach today, bro. Do we need three helmets? And I was like, well, what if all three of them get on base? They all might need a three. How about this? Have one bat, one, have one bat, five, have one bat. Nine. No. Because then what if nine gets on base and one's up? Oh you're right. Facts. And two I plan on my kids being on base just so. Just so we're clear. I plan on them being on base. Well, do me a favor. Come to my house in fact, I should go get all this stuff. If it wasn't football season starting today, I go get it. I'll show you everything I got right here on the show. So I just remember buying stuff. Please don't tell me about one adult and how expensive that was. I can imagine times three. Dude, wait. I'm gonna tell you this. Listen to this. I told you guys this story. My daughter, who is now 19, 20, she's 20, she's in Amsterdam for a semester abroad. Okay? And I know a lot of parents out there. You guys get it? You know, your kids go off to college and some, you know, some of them go to abroad for a semester. And, you know, some of them do other interesting things and some of them just go to school for four years like my other two did. My daughter has a semester abroad. She's in Amsterdam. Me and my younger daughter who's who's going to be a freshman in college. We're going to go visit her for Thanksgiving. Then my older daughter, who lives in Boise, was like, well, I want to go. I'm like, okay, so now it's me and my two daughters going to visit my third daughter. Then my son was like, well, wait a second, if you guys are all going to go, I want to go now. It's me and three kids flying to Amsterdam, okay? And when I when I tell you what I've already spent in airline tickets, now I've got to go deal with hotels or Airbnbs while they're not to mention the traveling, we might do the restaurants. Ain't nobody showing up with any money other than me. Yeah. Don't they? Hey, listen. Hey hey, hey, that's a beautiful problem to have, man. You gotta cut that check, big fella. That's it? That's all. You gotta take that check. Three beautiful kids to visit your fourth and Amsterdam. That sounds beautiful. Hey, you know what, Alex? It is a dream come true. No joke. It is an absolute dream come true to take my kids to Europe when, you know, two of them have not been, and one of them is there, and one of them has been. But yes, it is a dream come true. It really is a parent's dream come true. But I'm. But now I'm starting to stress because I'm seeing how much money it's already cost me. And I'm starting to think about how much money it's going to cost me. That's tomorrow's sticker shock. Yeah, the sticker shock always makes you second guess what's happening here. Then you start itemizing when the sticker shock hits you, and when you lose Justin, he'll probably be at the red light district just an assumption. Yeah Been there, done that. Where's Justin? I know where he's at. Don't worry about him. Yeah, I've been there and I've done that. All right, listen, let me say this. We're getting to the end of quarter number two. So that means we're in the end of the hour here. And we're going to go into a little bit of halftime. And then we're going to come back with the third quarter coming up I want to talk about Davante Adams as he gets ready to go to LA to take on the Chargers. I want to talk about Justin Herbert as he gets ready to come back. Because he didn't play at all during the preseason, including missing a lot of time during training camp. And what is Jim Harbaugh going to say today that's going to entertain us? We'll get to all of that. Plus we are all about to make our preseason NFL kickoff predictions. We will have all of our predictions, division winners and Super Bowl all on the way. Buy or sell Anthony Richardson will be a top seven fantasy quarterback this season. We're keeping this realistic here. We know that nobody would think that he'll be in the top three. Probably not even the top five. How about top seven? George by herself. You know, if he stays healthy. Top five is not out of question here at all. He's a running quarterback. We know how valuable valuable they can be. My worry is going to be what I mentioned when we talked about the, the Indianapolis Colts. Boyd and Pittman. Would it go down? There's not a lot to throw to. He'll be running for his life at the time there. I like Erickson a lot. Small sample size of what we saw of what he's going to be. If I played for five games last year before the injury here. So we're a longer season. We'll see if he can catch up to him, what he can do. He's going to have to prove he can throw the ball down the field here. I'm going to buy this. All right?
