players are on the cutting Ed Edge to make the Steelers 53 so guys who are like third string fourth string stuff like that but I go on some comments first see who's in the house uh welcome into jqu JJ 52 J what's up I think we had Kelly's here get a Kelly uh we have as well Joey what up Joy uh y's in the house too you guys are live as well and I think we have a few more people in the house uh she yeah all right okay let's get into it fellas so which players on The Cutting Edge Edge make the Steelers 53 so we have 91 players in including the German international dude Welsh COV he'll probably be oh no he'll be on the practice squad so it's 90 players uh going down to 53 so we're going to start with you Shane first and you're choosing it's same same order like a draft order on you pick not making it or who's making it no who who is making it like but the guys like on the edge first guy on the edge makes it on the team just because it just the play looks so good the one play I did see was scottt Miller the route looked crisp the going somewhere else thought he was going somewhere else too I thought you going to your other mate starting raming with ishop no no no okay the so so so why okay why cuz obviously he's like the fourth fifth string if you guys like that he is right on the like he's right like you could like you could have just P pet SC scratched his name right off the list you know brought him into the office gave him his papers told him to you know have a nice day however that play showed just a really nice route the ball was perfect you know but it's all about uh showing up when the opportunity arrives and he just it looked looked good so give he'll make the team at least for this week he's still on the roster so he um he definitely with that catch as well like one of those one of those football catches where you in stride and you keep going just per they're pretty they're pretty on point I think Cole Allen threw that one there so yeah I have a bit of a I think there's a there's a a two-way go for that certain spot for his spot but um yeah we'll take yours there Miller so that's number five what about yours B but who's on the on on the edge on the edge that is going to make it I believe because we just talked about him approximately maybe less than a half hour ago is the fourth string quarterback plumbley making his team even on the practice squad he still makes the team because this could be our returner I I think they're trying to fit him in in some kind of way because he's athletic and I know Shane was trying to find out how fast this this guy runs I know it was a four fast enough well faster than Cordell Patterson probably yeah and Patterson hasn't practiced so um yeah that's mine for this one I got a few questions for that then okay so plumbley all right he's a quarterback we haven't seen him play a quarterback yet no now he was number 18 last week returning kicks which yeah man that's crazy I think this is this are very very interesting one with a lot of layers because it depends what happens with C darl Patterson he's a bit injured at the moment he hasn't played yet M so if he were to play Plumley he might take that spot and maybe have someone next to him then you got to see if he can play receiver I've heard reports that he's been playing receiver that's what I think to I think Sunday Sunday he was playing receiver when uh Burns went down the camp he was telling me he's like he was playing receiver so so then the question is do you make him quarterback number three and Carle Allen gets a cut because they really only take three quarterbacks in the season or is he playing a receiver SL kick returner SL whatever he's he'll be the new slash he could be the new slash 2.0 AT at three different positions quarterbacking running back receiver and returner he could do it all he's that athletic I guess I guess really really athletic they still keep call Allen as the three three quarterback they will they will I think it's a I think it's a bit bit of a stretch just to be honest I think like with with uh Shane's Fields MVP comment bit of a stretch going back a few few weeks ago I feel like plum they might they might keep him on the practice squad I don't know if he's going to make the team because the Steelers obviously got the kickoff returner called Daryl Patterson and like JJ 52 said uh is he's gonna return over c83 now I'm saying he can't but the my vision is the way for his path to do it you'd H I think he might to be quarterback number three at the same time I think with quarterback number three they can't be dressed un unless you dressed in game day you wouldn't be able to but also Allen's gonna make the say he breaks it against the bills he breaks a 25 or 30 yard return huge conversation I mean there he he could play any position running back returner and receiver and they must be using him on something jqu is he a plum uh oh sorry plumbley ran into his own team he did that's only that's only one go though and then also JJ 52 says Plumley eals TM Hill hey Hill scores a lot of touchdowns for the Saints so I think that's a that's a that's he's he's on the edge that's for sure he's on the edge you don't know he's could be cut I do like that one but I think a lot of things got to fall in certain ways um my route's gone the same way I'm going to bring it right away my guy is uh Fitzpatrick now I know he made a few a few errors in in um the G position but I like him as him making the team I think my guy Fitzpatrick and and Shane's guy Miller are kind of fighting for the same spot y I feel like they're fighting for the fifth spot cuz I think it's going to be Pickin V Jefferson Wilson Calvin Aus the third that's four receivers I think they're fighting for Five Spot and also I think that Fitzpatrick number 82 he's been with us now on the practice squad for a year and a half or two years um he's playing the Gunner roll now we lost we lost our Gunners last year in in um boen and then I can't remember the other bik there's another oh James Pierre there's no more Gunners so he has to do the the Gunner roll better of course wasn't that great last week with there booming the punt down there there was no so he's going to do that better but he was a pretty good receiver in that in that big pass for 20 yards to Fitzpatrick so I like him there to make the cut but all these guys have different storylines between if you take a plumbley who can be a receiver do you keep a Scotty Miller or a Fitzpatrick you know what I mean it's kind um it's GNA be hard yeah it's kind of interesting all right number four Shane what about number four Brian Watts you know talkit on him damn it damn it that was a good one yeah I talk [ __ ] on him when he got drafted because okay guys he was a cornerback at Texas and didn't look that great to me there were some games where he he he gave up some plays they moved him the safety which fits his build and his you know I think he's a safety and uh he looked good he looked good uh in the in the the plays we did see him on the field last week so I think he makes it I think he makes it to actually I think he he was a guy that remind he just always around the ball what I saw when I was in the air he was always like one foot away from like interception you almost got that onew um I think he's a guy that can actually make the team as well because I think if he if you put him into a practice squad another team's going to pick him up so he was going to be mine on my list somewhere too so you've taken you've drafted one of our guys um dead said I think I think he makes it um what about you Bob what about number four he took my number four um yeah I'm gonna go with uh lineman Spencer Anderson oh hang on you took my number [Laughter] sorry because he can play every position and realistically if if Nate herbig shits to bed Spencer could be the second string Center I was thinkinking that I was thinkinking sorry you go I just that okay that's why we can't take when you take the when you did this when you take them off the board it's kind of hard because he took mine I took yours it's go gota think on the Fly that's a good one though is it my turn now gosh I was goingon to say him too as well to be honest I was thinking he's going to be the guy that is maybe on the on the The Cutting Edge uh okay so you've taken Spencer Anderson and also he was like a a seventh rounder last year right or something yeah yeah but he can play every position on that line yeah he's he's G to be interesting guy to watch over the next few weeks too um I'm going to go to okay I'll say guy who's on on the real real Cutting Edge the real Cutting Edge and if he has a big game this week I think Jeremiah Moon can can make the the roster because obviously there's no Marcus golden so the Ste is like to carry four outside linebackers like that's now it's a bit weaker because he's obviously said see you later so you're gonna have TJ wat heith uh you're gonna have herig and now I think Jeremiah Moon the former Raven if he steps up I think he has a chance because just based on the depth you know to to make the roster so I'm going to go Jeremiah moon to have a big game see that's a good that's that's good because uh actually that makes our outside linebacking probably the best depth it had probably in a long time yeah but I thought it was going to be golden when they signed golden so and he just went oh I'm I retire oh no he got did he retire or he injured I can't remember what happened to him he retired I he didn't get injured no I don't think so I don't know I think he just left I don't know if I just don't think I don't think he wanted to practice because he didn't do it for a while and he's like I don't want to go out there running and I just got my pension I'm good I think well things move so fast I think I think some another Steeler was on for outside linebacker then they got hurt then he came in is that right I can't remember who they are though how fast it goes um all right Sha what about number three this might you guys might give me some heat but hear me out Conor Hayward every time I think that they they have someone in the position damn it you stole mine too doing a better job doing a better job he he just goes out there and makes a great block or makes a good catch and just he just Mr hustle and I wasn't a big fan at first and he's grew on me and I think he earned himself a spot he's he's do you think do you think shano that uh Conor Haywood is on this team because of his brother for a little bit or he's like At first I did but you know and that's that's why he's kind of eh but he's he he just shows up and he makes solid plays but where does he go what position what position does he do full back or tight end he is like a little bit of both he's a fullback tight end he's not quite lanky enough and doesn't have the length of like a real tight end but he's serviceable can catch balls out of the back field he's I don't know he's a square peg in a round hole you have Pat Frou and Darnell Washington which are true tight ends and then you have Connor Hayward Hayward and you know that that puit I think Connor Hayward puts himself in front of uh puit and gets that spot you know I don't know I don't know guys that's my pick I yeah I think Haywood that's the thing we don't know exactly if this Stealers because I want to choose Jack Koo same time I don't know if the steals are going to use use a fullback in their in their system but but if Jack CTO plays a fullback he's going to play as a uh defensive you know run out there and smash him on the return as well so there's different roles for different people um I do like the Haywood one because I think if there were there was someone better than Haywood yeah you can't have the the uh you know the I guess the family Alliance and and that can't be your only thing it's because you're a Haywood brother but I think he does play good football he scored that TD he gets into open space he's he's a he's a hitter um so and he also I think I don't know him personally but like you you probably think he's probably sh on his shoulder because his brothers that that camera so that would annoy him on the daily basis of like I need to be as best I can otherwise lose my spot that's a really good one and apparently that was bbba too bbba what about yeah it was um hopefully I don't steal yours I'm gonna go with Corey trce Jr yeah jqu said it too that's a very interesting one too because we haven't heard too much about him this season well until that game where he wrapped him up and then he just like he's been playing lights out this week and he's going to be looking in more into the nickel package like I said about an hour ago so I hope he makes the team plus he's tall he's lanky uh hey we need that we need like tall Corners anyway we we gotta have guys over six foot you know yeah no I I agree with that I want to see some I guess some more time time playing in that position as well he'll be play he'll play this Saturday and he'll be playing next week so 100% yep um I got a bit of a controversial one here on steel Nation Australia and also Steelers dyy podcast I'm going to say hul for middle linebacker I think he's on the edge I just don't know about his about his injury stuff I hadn't heard too much about his injury injury his uh injury coming back and playing the game he hasn't played any football him on they might put him on IR but if they put him on IR now then he can't I think he can't play the season maybe they're just gonna wait till absolute definite time to put him on IR so he can come back in the middle of the season so but but then he then he has to make so I'm pretty sure from my knowledge so far he has to make the team so so he's got to be on the on the 53 then when he's on there then I think he can be put on uh IR for a few weeks I think I could be very wrong but I still I still feel like I still feel like he's one that don't be surprised if he's cut because of his injury I'm just saying because people yeah I don't I don't know like but also too the Steelers cut him because he was trying to rehab you know what I mean and they throw him out there in the Wolves because he's not he's still rehabbing and they're like oh you're not good enough yet see you later I don't know if they yeah he's gonna be to me he's gonna be an interesting one to watch and also I kind I can't just reverse my question as well I just could turn that into a negative which would be a positive so he's got to make the team no I still I just wanted to bring him up I really wanted to bring him up because I think he's one to watch with all the middle linebackers who we have at that position and also pton Wilson step up in that sense so we will Cole hul make the 53 he's right on the edge and it's like well I think he I think he will but then you're right maybe then he'll get onto the reserve straight away you know and maybe comes back midseason you know yeah I have to I have to give you your just do because you were taking Wilson last week and I pretty much was dogging him and I guess he led to team and tackles and he he missed a few he missed a few he missed a few coverage and this kind of stuff it's going to happen but for what I saw in the first few quarters and whatnot like he was hitting hard and he was running around crazy hustle he was hustling yeah he's hustling so he he was on fire I watched the game uh two times and every time I watched it was just bang was to the ball Al righty number two Shane which play on The Cutting Edge will make the 53 you know I was gonna say Wilson but I'm going with the Marvin Le yeah he's played good football he looked good and here's the thing he's not even after that that week last week he doesn't even fit the criteria to be on the The Fringe I think he's solidly on the team so that's why I was not GNA pick him but you when you have someone like cam cam Hayward play in front of you you know I I'll say though if you were to if you were Le is Conor still there though he's still on the edge because if he has a bad game next week then then it all changes right true so he has to have another good game yeah that him Sol the the performance last week put him solidly into on the team but like you said he shits the bed he could be back on The Fringe but even if he plays bad that just doesn't put him off the team it puts him right on that line again my yeah yeah he did play some pretty pretty good football like lights at football getting that sack and I thought he was pretty you know pretty aggressive on the line um and he's someone that that BBA has been talking about to the D line has not been oh man our dline is weak as hell yeah and you're G keep depth there especially if you have someone this show and promised like he is because that montravius Adams I I don't know he's he's definitely on the line so those were he played a good play too but the thing is like do we just look at one play or do we look at what in training camp or last year I feel like sometimes the one play he put put his pow up he got a sack it's like yes he's awesome and then you know he doesn't do anything in the regular season MH oh who who your one babba uh he had a bra brain no I'm looking at the I'm looking at decide to make the team I'm G to go with that running back free agent out of Georgia his name Edwards yeah because I'm gonna have huge run yeah so when we go to people that don't make the team I'm probably gonna have people that you guys are like Bubba what the hell's wrong with you but I'm I'm shelling I'm cutting I might be cutting some people so um I think he makes a team as the third receiver or it's third running back I'm sorry sorry it's been a long day third running back all right that's why it's also interesting with the co Daryl Patterson thing too because he can play running back as well and he plays kickoff returner right so I actually think that Patterson might be on the bit of bit of the edge because he's older bloke and you see young guys like that like gu Step Up um I'm just going to the Box stats because I want to see his his yards again for dejon Edwards had three carries 28 yards 24 longest he's a bloke that if he has another good play like like last year with Warren or two years ago Warren and and marike tomman goes yep and Arthur Smith Goes yep he's pretty good he'll make the team so you got you gotta remember anybody from Georgia or Alabama that's a running back should probably play in the NFL so I mean we got him as a free agent I mean realistically I mean if you're playing at those universities I'm not a college guy but you're playing at those universities and you're a running back at Alabama or Georgia you're playing in the NFL somewhere so I don't know okay I don't know if there's a bit of a stretch but and you you guys can knock this back if you want to you can you can knock this back I'm gonna say beanie Bishop but I feel like he's already made the team being out I think I think he he is he on the edge or not ah you you got you're you're getting them to put on the team so that's what you're picking so but you you could have somebody else come in and steal his Thunder Saturday and next week and then maybe who grayan AR Arnold I mean maybe who knows yeah I'm gonna okay I'm gonna leave him off I just want to bring him up though because I feel like beanie Bishop is already on the team because of the circumstances around something in in that that position itself I think that he's not on The Cutting Edge but he's just got to keep playing and and the Steelers they don't really have another another I don't know another person to uh take I think he's gonna make the team because he was around everywhere last Friday night he was the second had the second most tackles yeah you look at stat but is he but I'm saying is is he in threat to lose it I don't think he is well these other guys are all kind of in threat to lose it no okay I'm going to change mine I'm going to go back to montrais Adams and I think he he is a b that made the two two big uh the sack and the tackles put his por up but he's another guy I think could be cut because the dline is quite weak but he's made the team the last few years but he's also if someone else steps up I think they can take his job but he's interesting to and then also Le and monis Adam they're playing like that as well so I'm going to go uh Adams sorry what you gonna say Shan no I agree with you I think he I you know what I agree with you but I disagree because I think half of me says he's he's he might not make the team and then mavius yeah Martavius will make the team yeah yeah I I because they are so got hurt yeah yeah you know what I mean and he came in and and substitute for uh G and and Martavius is only like two million he signed for two million not like it's lot yeah um he's he's still a serviceable defensive uh nose tackle or lineman interesting all right last one last one for the number one do we need the music we do number one number one countdown for Shane which players on The Cutting Edge will make the Steelers 53 at first I but no I think man I you guys are so tough because we've covered just about everybody that's on yeah um how many play 12 what's that we've covered 12 players so far I know and there's only there's a 53 man roster yeah we pretty much cut we cut most of the other ones out yeah yeah now here's one that I'm gonna say makes the team just because last year this player is older M fatrick at pre position and was injured last year I think Miles killer Brew makes the team oh yeah but I don't think they're gonna cut him though there there's no he's a pro B Shane he was a pro B not I'm gonna push I'm gonna push you back on that he's not he's not on the edge though he's not on the edge but we're we've pretty much trimmed the fat I mean rest of the guys the rest of the guys are like oh yeah they're gonna make it they're gonna make it I mean all right you know Like Pat I'll give I'll give you killer Brew but I think he he's actually I think let's let's talk okay I I know one for sure you can talk about but that's gonna be mine but unless I pick him I don't know because thread okay makes the team I don't think he I I think that's but that's okay here is he's on the very cuz I don't think he makes team either online okay why would let make the team L mook's gonna make the team because he's more experienced than the Logan Lee kid and experience might help him and he might have a better game against Buffalo he's definitely gonna get the next two games so he's gonna make I was gonna go with a lineman an offensive lineman and I should have but we don't have that many and uh I I should have picked that big guy we got from the Ravens who's like 360 pounds but he has no experience so but he's raw talent but they're not gonna they're not gonna sign him for that so I didn't want to go with that so I'll just stay with ludder milk and hopefully he can prove somebody wrong and make the team yeah he's he's definitely one I think lot of Ste fans would just say yeah he's not making he's on a teener he's yeah it's like a yeah he's been this is the hardest one doing whole show doing all this show that was the hardest pick I ever had to pick since we started yeah and and he could be one that very well could be cut like tomorrow whatever they do cut down days after next game um I'm going to go for my last one then you go sh enough to me I'm G I'm going to say uh the big one for me right on the edge is Rodney Williams the the tight end he made the team last year's a teamer yeah's he's a teamer and you've also we got a lot of guys in front of him with puit and Haywood depending what they do with the fullback situation if they keep the fullback in kedto then you got to keep uh Haywood as a tight end then you got to keep would you keep four tight ends including Williams don't know but he plays he also plays teams too um in in tackling but it's also different now with the kickoff return so he's going to be to me he's right on the edge like he's he can very very well be cut but he made I think 12 tackles last year and if they feed him into the rotation of the the tight ends and blocking and and receiving then he might make the team but it all depends if they keep kedto all the other guys around that same kind of unit uh what about you Shane you know guys I keep switching back and forth but I'm going to go I'm gonna go into the running back roster here you know you picked did who did you pick Bubby did you pick I picked the Edwards from uh George Edwards I really think you know I think Jonathan Ward makes the team for the three good that was good too yeah yeah yeah he did right as well uh last week yeah he he he's seasoned enough that you know you don't have to worry you know about him making you know turning the ball over I'm looking at a stats I mean he's serviceable he looked decent I mean there were a lot of nice plays so godamn that was a good pick ER that was a good pick yeah he had uh six carries for 26 yards and 20 longest so he had the most carries out the team and I and he had one catch for five yards so he handed the ball seven times so the offense is definitely going in his favor um but I think he's out for running back number three then also running back number three has to play teams too yeah Cordell he misses he kind of slips slips the spot where Patterson is you know like he's not gonna be returning yeah I think patteron might be in Jeopardy I think Jey gunning a gunning for for his job um oh that was really fun that was awesome one that's a hard one that was a hard that's the hardest one the hardest one W and wheels uh definitely this is where the the actual football talk is coming not the brand auk talk right so let's go for a bit of summarization so Shane you had Scotty Miller for the receiver I think he's fighting it out for the fifth maybe fourth fifth spot receiver and teams too Ryan Watts I think he's on the edge but I think he kind of makes it I think we are we we in agreement of that right yeah I think I think he played well enough and he looks fit enough out there to play I liked him I actually liked him I thought he was and I was talking [ __ ] in her her tra I'll find it don't you worry I'll I know you will the one the one week he gets the interception in week one versus Falcons I thought the big game me for about five minutes I'll bring it back up uh then you had Conor Haywood Shane which is our maybe cutting Ed because of the position this year they're bringing a fullback tight end that's kind of interesting as well um but I think he's playing well enough to to seal that then you had Leal to if if he has a bad game he's back to square one but he looked pretty good out there and they're going to rotate him into maybe outside linebacker as well in certain situations uh then you had Ward the running back where he's kind of competing for the running back number three which is interesting Baba you had plumbley the quarterback do they carry him as a quarterback number three receiver kick off return that's kind of interesting too yeah that's
