what's still one of the great stadiums of the NFL legendary Lambo field in green bell home of the Packers this evening the camper to this divisional round it's the Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers so glad you have joined us it's a divisional round matchup here in the playoffs Mike too along with Greg Olson parter both these teams feeling the momentum feeling good they won last week on Wildcard Weekend they're starting to look forward in dream Super Bowl one of these teams gets to the conference Championship game what are you looking for in a game like this yeah and you're one ticket remaining to be punted for the championship round next week we're all set and off we go on EA Sports now an opening P the 30 and they'll be set up well as he is past the 35y line the Green Bay offense set to go to work for the first time and they're led by the man who waited his turn the 2021 rounder Jordan love after talking to him the other day it seemed seems like he's really embracing this moment Mike I mean he said something along the lines of playing with the pressure that comes with the playoffs is a privilege and I couldn't agree more not everyone gets the opportunity to play on this stage so when you have these types of moments you really have to take advantage of them and just go for it if the rest of the team can match that mindset I think they got a good shot today to leave with a win that is must grave The Man in Motion here's the screen taken in by Jacobs they'll get maybe three out of that one and it's going to set up third down off for play fake here's love he's got a man that's Watson set to go now on First and 10 on the ground this is the 2022 rushing champ Josh Jacobs not much there a yard or two down to the 48 Jordan Davis the man in the middle brings it to an end throwing on second down love and he's not going to get away they track him down if you're gonna take a sack you just can't add to it by taking such a massive loss on top of it understand when the pocket breaks down move up cut your losses now not only do you lose that down but now you face a big uphill battle if you want to extend this drive what can they do here this is third and forever out of the shotgun it's l right side catch made by dos and he's down in inside the 40 yd line that's his first grab of this divisional round matchup and it's good for the first down as well offensively Landing a lot of body blows on this drive Mike just the ability to steadily March the ball down field and remain so efficient both run and pass as they continue to wear this defense out they have to find a way to end this drive with points anything short of that be a bit of a let down and he's fighting to try to get back to the line of scrimmage but will not do it this is going to be a loss of a yard second and 11 from the gun it's love looking downfield that's Musgrave the tight end and they are in great shape he's taken down inside the 10 it is a big time play for the Packers 32 yards well they've come out swinging here on this this opening drive through the air and that's exactly what they wanted to do generate some early chunk plays and try to get some points to throw is low to the end zone there but it is incomplete here's another shot from the six it's second and goal they'll run it straight ahead with Jacobs and he will get into the end zone Josh Jacobs touchdown Packers a terrific way to start this one not only a touchdown but a nice long march down the field makes it a long walk back to the bench for the defense Mike that's about as good as you can imagine starting a game offensively to be able to sustain that many plays and be able to cap it off with a touchdown that is a dream start for this offense on the return here is annias Smith he'll work his way across the 25 yd line so the Philadelphia offense set to take over for the first time and leading them out their quarterback it's Jaylen Herz winning in the Wild Card round certainly an accomplishment that this team should be proud of but like he wants to take his team to the championship round next week he's going to have to lead by example and play a mistake-free game against the team known for capitalizing on their opponent's mistakes yes you have to be aggressive you have to be willing to take some risks but those those risks have to be calculated because if you get Reckless against this group you're going to be flying home you're going getting ready for the off [Applause] seon on first down it's Herz he's got the 2021 Heisman where that's Devonte Smith so you come back out here after watching the opposing team score first and what you want to do is you got to establish a little early Rhythm and get the drive started every offensive coordinator has Drive starters meaning it's a completion it's a run play that we feel great about it's a screen get a little positive energy into that huddle and what hopefully starts out good ends with you being able to get some points of your [Applause] own on first down it's Herz that's complete to his big tight end Dallas got it'll be taken down rather swiftly after a gain of just three second and [Applause] running from the pistol with Barkley and he's bottled up after a gain of a yard third and six from the shotgun it's Herz oh he's got a man that's caught by Brown that's his first grab of this divisional round matchup and it's good for the first down as [Applause] well now Herz oh a short throw there but it's going to end up incomplete that's a pass you say he should have had instead he does not and it brings up second [Applause] down Herz will work here from the pistol got a miss and it's AJ Brown brings it in a gain of 26 and it sets up first and goal kks will try it again and he'll take it on in Dallas gter touchdown Philadelphia [Music] the extra point by Elliott is good and the Eagles come right back to tie it at [Applause] seven each team one possession each team a score 77 as they kick it off for the return it's kesan Mixon and he'll be brought down past the 25 decent field position to start this drive the the Packers offense going to take over now for the second time we'll try to break out of this deadlock we are all even at seven as they start this drive first and 10 here's love this one is caught by Reed they'll get about four here as he is taken down here's a second and [Music] six love to throw and that's going to be incomplete coverage was good that time the contact jarring the ball loose and forcing third down back to throw is love he's got his tight end that's musr they pick up 17 through the air good for a Green Bay first down this may look like a simple connection Mike just pitch and catch but I can promise you the amount of time these two guys have spent together on the practice field in the meeting rooms just getting on the same page seeing the game through the same set of eyes it makes what's pretty difficult seem a lot easier very quick throw there but not on the same page with his Target that's incomplete they'll try again here second and 10 here's love over the middle he fits it into dos they may not have moved the chains but with what they were dealing with there on second down that's a really nice pickup because now it opens up your play call sheet on third down where it's a little bit more manageable we try to run it here with Jacobs he's down right at the 40 but that is good enough to move the chains first down I think everybody in the stadium saw that that run coming Mike but good luck stopping it I mean all he really had to do was just fall forward and it would be enough to pick up the first down on play action love he'll let this go deep for the end zone that is knocked away incomplete good coverage there defensively all over him and it'll be second down here's love to throw short throw there pulled in by Musgrave and he's going to be dropped after a pickup of about [Applause] [Music] five on third down they'll set up to throw a that's the one thing they couldn't have there the sack that might take them out of field goal range on fourth down Daniel Wheeling is on to punt as they'll say no to the long field goal and hope to pin them deep so that one going to land out of bounds and the officials going to mark it right at the 20yd line they'll come up here first and 10 operating from the gun here's her they'll get about four here as he is taken down it's not the big play they were hoping for but first down efficiency staying ahead of the chains is what every offense is trying to find and it brings up a manageable second down little short pass here caught by his tight end and they'll whistle him down but not before he picks up a first down after a gain of seven hers going to keep it on the option well that looked like a pretty clear hold the gain was five but let's check the call [Applause] on the hand off this is Barkley and he's going to be brought down on what will be the final play in this opening quarter one quarter down in this NFC divisional round matchup haris Sans on the scoreboard and we're back Lambo field in just a moment work to do now as they come up on second and [Applause] long a shotgun snap now to hers he runs with it well that helps going to be a much more manageable third down getting some good yardage on that second down play hers he's got his man it's Smith and the defense can't come up with a stop there gain of seven and a first down here's Herz his throw on first Down's going to be incomplete to throw on second down is hers and nice work there after the catch he's a little short of the first down after a gain of seven they'll try to run here with barle and that call will not get it done the defense ready stopping him behind the line of scrimmage it sets up fourth down here comes the Eagles puny out to return this for the Packers it's kesan and we will not have a return here this one angled out of bounds the Packers offense ready to see what they can do with this next possession they'll work at a tie game here in the second quarter and get started with first and 10 out of the shotgun it's love to the left side in the hands of Watson and he'll get about eight on that one most of it coming after after the catch it's second down off the play fake here's love he's going to go deep looking for Reed was a fine line between trusting your arm and having a little bit too much faith in your arm right I think this was one of those situations here Mike where there was nowhere to go with the ball he tries to fit that one in there anyway and he's lucky that it just Falls incomplete and he will have a Packers first down at least it appears that way he got it maybe by the length of the [Applause] football once again it's Jacobs he's inside the 35 go Jacobs a big run they finally get to him and bring him down a big time run by Jacobs the gain is 64 that's his damic a run as you're going to see he gets really good initial blocking at the point of the attack that Springs him loose but then it's just his speed and open field running that does the rest from six yds out it's first and goal from the gun it's love he puts it up and it's caught Romeo dos touchdown Green Bay tight spaces down there things happen quick Greg a quick decision and great execution for the score you're exactly right mik down here this close to the goal line everybody's clock has to speed up not only the quarterback processing to get the ball out of his hand but you have to win as a receiver quickly and give the quarterback somewhere to go with the ball it was that quickness at the line of scrimmage that led to that touchdown here's Smith to return it and he's brought down right at the 25 yd line the Eagles offense getting things in order as they Tred out for this next possession they Trail now 14 to seven as they'll come up for first and 10 now it's hers quick throw out wide it's caught these are the play calls Mike that offensive coordinators use to just get their quarterback and their passing game into some sort of Rhythm easy pitch and catch get the ball out of his hand see a completion these typically as the game goes on lead to bigger and bigger gains ball rests at the 37 it's first and 10 [Applause] play action here's Herz that one oh it's on target but it goes as an incompletion look like he had that one in his grasp but unable to hold on and it will be second [Applause] down again Herz that one is caught by Campbell and he's going to be brought down up past the 45 here's first and 10 [Applause] hers again that's to the right side punt by G an enviable spot to operate from here's second in [Music] inches to the air again H when you put plays like this on tape it's sends a message to every Defender across the league when you play this offense and this guy has the ball you better bring it when you come to contact him cuz if not you're going to be on the wrong end he's got his tight end G working the middle of the field and they'll take this down inside the [Applause] [Music] 35 here's a hand off to Barkley and the defense all over this one they knock down it'll go down as a loss of two here's a second and [Applause] 12 from the shotgun it's Herz that's taken in by Brown well he's brought down that pass is going to pick up four and bring up third down a pistol snap back to Herz and this is going to be incomplete that's great work to get in there and make things difficult defensively setting up a fourth down through the falling snow the kick is good and the Eagles are back within four at 14- 10 I think apart from the wind when you talk about kicking in the elements Mike I think the snow has to be the kicker's worst nightmare it's just so hard to have the confidence that when you stick that plant foot it's not going to give way so give credit that was really well done on First and 10 here's low he's going to go deep looking for Reed the ball deflected at least a couple of times but it'll fall to the ground it's incomplete dos headed in motion they'll run the draw with Jacobs and he'll work this past the 25 to the 26 yd line Reed blank and ship coming up from his safety spot to make the stop on third down they go with Jacobs and he'll be taken down around the 29 yd line Daniel wheelen is out to kick it away again and he'll be looking for something better after that poor first punt this fielded inside the 35 oh hello he is stopped in his tracks on that one they made sure that return was not going any farther now a first and 10 from the 38 yd [Music] line HS now to the outside he's got Smith and they'll get about four here as he is taken down on second down Barkley he's able to get away for one man but those reinforcements they got there quick take him down behind the line on third down here's Herz that's caught saquan Barky and he'll be taken down as we tick down to the two-minute warning give him 14 on that one first down [Applause] Philadelphia throwing is Herz and he can't hang on through the contact it's Inc complete what a good job defensively to meet him just as the ball was arriving and it'll be second down throwing is Herz that one complete to Brown he's brought down that pass is going to pick up four and bring up third down perks will try it again that's complete to his running back Kenneth gainwell trying to find some scam out there but he will not they get him behind the line and fourth down is coming up and he missed it it's no good and they are not able to draw closer first and 10 I can tell you firsthand Mike snowy conditions are tough for everybody but they can be especially tough on the kickers you just can't practice this there's nothing you can do to simulate your plant foot the ground in this case it winds up no good and they move this one down inside the 40 yd line the Packers go ahead and use the first of their time out out as they'll stop it with just over 40 seconds to go in the first half you can see the eyes of the quarterback he's trying to push this ball initially down field but with the defense doing a good job keeping a lid on the coverage he's forced to check this ball down to the shallow route but this is something that they know in the future if I need a couple yards they can come back to this play and this is going to be incomplete that's great work to get in there and make things difficult defensively setting up a fourth down Brandon mcmanis and the field goal unit come off this one from 47 yds [Applause] out mcm's kick is good and the Packers going to tack on three more extending the lead here late in the first half they didn't leave much time on the clock to put together a drive here at the end of the first half and the kickoffs coming their way oh he's got room pass the 30 and he finally gets forced out of bounds but that was a fantastic [Applause] return on first down it's Herz that's a short one caught by G and they'll get about four here as he is taken down so the Eagles will use their first timeout here the Eagles going to send their field goal unit out spotted at the 45 this is a 55 yd attempt and this is no good could not get it On Target and they are not able to draw closer man that would have been such a nice boost for this group going into halftime the snap was good the hold was good he just couldn't quite get it through the uprights love to throw on First and 10 he'll take a shot for Watson and that is incomplete one final chance does not work out time is expired the first half has come to an end we are set for the second half kickoff one of these teams ready to book a date in the NFC championship game next week and we are back at it with the third quarter the Eagles offense going to have a first crack in it as we begin this third quarter they Trail here by a touchdown as this drive will start with a first down they'll get about four here as he is taken down second down throw for Herz firing right side brought in by Brown now so they come to the line for first down and [Applause] [Music] 10 they'll run straight ahead with Barkley pen he get away no he's taken down behind the line good job by the defense with a negative play to throw on second down is Herz out wide here's Smith and he will not get away terrific open field tackle gets him down behind the line third and long for hers he'll try to run for it he's going to be brought down very close to that line to gain they're going to Mark him just a bit short and now it's fourth down here comes the Eagles puny they'll be looking for something a little better than that first effort which he shanked that's going to be out of bounds no return and the drive is going to start from just inside the 20 yd line the Packers offense trotting back out for their first involvement of this second half they lead by a touchdown as this drive begins with first and 10 they'll start on the ground with Jacobs and good blocking up front Paving the way for a gain of eight on the [Applause] ground throwing on second down love that is intercepted picked off by Caden stur and he's going to be taken down just shy of the goal line nearly a pick six but he does set up the offense with first and [Applause] goal operating from the gun here's Herz a good blocking and he's in Jaylen Herz touchdown Eagles that is is a dream scenario the offense handed the ball first and goal and Greg they take it to the end zone for six they're not going to have many easier drives than that Mike I mean to get the ball not only in a short field but in a goal too situation you don't get a lot of those chances you have to cash them in and that's exactly what they were able to do so back to level after the touchdown and time for the kickoff here's Nixon on the return he'll get across the 20 Mark him down at the 23 yd line the Packers offense ready to take over possession of the football they'll start it here with a first and [Music] 10 for the middle that one caught by Watson give him 14 on that play One play one first down make some good plays today a run up the Middle with Jacobs and not much there he's back to the original line no gain on that [Applause] one on play action love and this drive is a disaster he goes down for a third consecutive time if there there's any silver lining for this drive Mike it's the fact that at least this sack occurred on an early down so I guess technically they have a chance to claw themselves out of this hole but that's the third sack of the game this defense doesn't show any signs of slowing down here's the quarterback doing everything in his power to extend this play and none of his guys could get open you got to see someone separate work with your quarterback going into scramble second reaction mode and it's also giv some credit to the back end doing a nice job Plastering with their assignment and he had no choice but to throw it away oh how about that hit wow he took a pretty good lick at the end of that one here comes the Philly offense now as they make their way back onto the field they'll start out first down and 10 they'll start on the ground with Barkley he'll work forward to the 40 yd line way Walker the linebacker on the [Applause] tackle on second down hers that one knocked away it is incomplete very good job defensively stayed right with him and we'll bring up third down a shot snap out to hers taking off he'll try to get there and that's a great job defensively here on third down not only taking away all the options down the field through the air but when the quarterback decides to turn into a runner himself they're able to converge and make the play and keep them short of the first down we're all set to kick this one away as he'll come on to punt this one away ball security they must in these conditions fair catch called for and taken without issue out comes the Green Bay offense now as they get set to take over again they'll do so with first and 10 room to run at the 30 and he's going to be marked down up around the 33 love to start any drive like that 18 on the first play and a first down [Applause] they'll stay on the ground with Jacobs and he finds some space tackled after a gain of seven on first down here's second and three to [Applause] go they'll run the toss to Jacobs and he's going to be stopped in his tracks he'll lose a couple of yards on that one I'd like to see that running back be a little bit more decisive with his cut Mike you can see he was a little hesitant and once you're late making that decision you just kind of get strong laterally great job there by the defense and he has no choice but to take that loss it's a pickup of 12 first down Packers and really the key to this play was just how fast he was able to get through his progressions his mind was able to process and go from one to two to three so quickly that he was able to get the ball to the right Target on time and I think so often those two things are different being open is one thing being open and getting under pressure and down he goes they got him the offense goes from feeling really good about the previous play with a real nice pickup to then on the ensuing play ending up going the complete opposite direction really nice job here by the defense immediately getting back on track what do the coaches say just play the next play and that's exactly what they did and they'll hold him to a gain of just a couple and sets up third [Applause] down from the gun it's love oh in trouble down he goes if they win this game this pass rush is going to be a big reason why the five sacks speak for itself but their ability to disrupt the timing of this offense that can't be overstated Packers set to kick this one away as he's on here to punt this one [Applause] away this one fielded out beyond the 25 the Eagles offense ready to see what they can do they'll try to establish some tempo as they start this one with first and [Applause] 10 now Herz and a good effort there defensively it's knocked away and incomplete Matt Jaylen Herz on second down a short throw taken in by gard and a good job rallying to the football hold him just a gain of a yard and sets up third down from the shotgun it's hers that's complete tight end got her he's got a touchdown on the books from earlier and that catch gets him a first down I know I know I'm biased but listen you can't convince me Mike that there's a better option on the field especially when you got a guy like this then on third down or critical moments that's where the ball needs to go the size the speed the matchup problems that he creates if I was in a critical situation there is no doubt where I'm going with the ball that's to the right side CL by G and they'll move this one down inside the 40 yd line first and 10 now from the [Applause] 36 they'll run it to the right here with bar and a good run there going to get him five [Applause] yds he'll stay on the ground with Barkley and it'll be brought down as we tick towards the end of this third quarter one quarter remains for a trip to the NFC title game this is the NFL playoffs on EA Sports here's a third down and four hers and this is going to be incomplete that's great work to get in there and make things difficult defensively setting up a fourth down so now Jake Elliot an important kick coming up this to take the lead here in the fourth and this this one right down the middle it's good and they take the lead here in the fourth quarter and this has been such a tight game but that's a big one right there I mean you need a kicker with confidence well this guy he fits the bill he steps up and knocks it through to give his guys a lead here in the fourth quarter and he'll be brought down just beyond the 25 yd line the home team's offense ready to take over as we check out the playoff race in the NFC a fresh set of downs to work with it is first down and 10 he'll run and that'll be good for about a half dozen it'll set up second [Applause] down off the play fake here's love bat complete to Jacobs and they'll whistle him down but not before he picks up a first down after a gain of seven they'll run here and he'll manage to get this ahead for a pickup of five with a [Applause] win go play action with love this one is caught by Reed 11 yds for number 11 and a first down they'll stick to the ground and he'll take this forward for about three it's second down [Applause] out of the shotgun it's love the open man is Reed he's got it they'll get maybe three out of that one and it's going to set up third [Applause] down now love here's a screen taken in by Jacobs and he will have the first down the drive will continue after a pickup of eight a little unconventional play call here you don't traditionally see the screen game used on third down at these shorter down and distances but in this case they catch the defense off guard they Ed it up well and the back is able to convert and pick up the first down let control the they'll keep it on the ground and this rough day on the ground continues they're going to drop him behind the line again that was just a race to the edge and in this case Mike he just wasn't the winner I mean at this point when the defense is out there waiting for you it's tough for any runner in this league to even get back to the original on stret that's left side caught by musr certainly not the biggest play of the day but a good example of up positive yardage staying ahead of the chains by a well-timed ball and a well-timed route that's into the hands of wits he's got it that's a gain of 16 yds and it sets up first and goal to throw is L this offensive line just has no right now it's another sack so after surrendering their sixth sack of the game I looked down on the sideline Mike and found their offensive line coach he grabbed his headset removed it and he slammed it on the ground and truthfully I don't blame him his unit has been getting worked up front all day in pass protection first down was not very good here's second and goal in motion Reed on the hand off this is Jacobs really nice job by the interior of this offensive line it typically just takes one guy to distort the defense to give the back enough room to operate and that's exactly what they did here and it led to a big gain from the gun on third down it's love that's to the end zone but it's incomplete Christian Watson the intended receiver and it'll be fourth and goal coming up so here comes Brandon mcmanis in a pressure situation this to tie things up here in the four and this is where it pays to have a kicker you can trust Mike I mean this is as big a spot as there is fourth quarter what does he do he comes out and he delivers to tie up this game here's Smith to return it and he'll work this one past the 25 to right about the 28 yd line the Eagles offense ready to come back out for this next possession this game level following the M field goal they need to put something together here it begins with first and 10 on the ground it's Barkley to start the drive and he'll plow forward for a gain of four yards [Applause] and that's going to be incomplete coverage was good that time the contact jarring the ball loose and forcing third down to throw is hurts in trouble and down he goes when you can win so fast as an edge rusher you put so much pressure on the quarterback to speed everything up he can sense that pressure coming either from his front or back side it either speeds up and leads to an errant throw or in this case it leads to a sack so it's Fourth Down they'll call on the punt team important punt here in this tie game late [Applause] fair catch is called for and made just inside the 35 yd line the home team's offense makes their way back out to the field for their next possession we're all even fourth quarter so every drive so important at this stage and they'll start with first and 10 he'll struggle to get back to the line of scrimmage maybe gets a yard out of that one it's second down [Applause] once again it's Jacobs and that one shut down pretty quickly he'll get back to the line of scrimmage nothing more they're going to try to pick this up on Third and eight love to throw the pressure gets there and down he goes a sack this has been a masterful game plan defensively I mean not only have they found their matches and been able to exploit them it's led to seven sacks so far I mean even when the offense seems to make an adjustment Mike the defense just still seems to be one step ahead of [Applause] him and he's going to be knocked down before he can even think about returning that one whoa the visitors offense ready for this next possession they'll see if they can put something together here beginning with first and 10 quick throw taken in and they're going to Mark him down up past the 35 it's a nice start to the drive a gain of 10 and a quick first [Applause] down they'll run it here with saquon and he'll be stacked up at the line of scrimmage no gain on the play play action here's Herz hit as he throws and it is incomplete just couldn't deliver that one the way he wanted to not really sure if there was much there anyways we do know it'll be third down Herz working in the pistol and this ball incomplete on third down ever so often Mike you can see these offenses and it looks like the passing game gets a little bit too predictable and as the defense continues to flood the back end of these zones with extra Defenders they're continuing to force this quarterback to not only make some difficult throws but to put the ball In Harm's Way Josh Jacobs and the Packers offense heading back onto the field they'll begin with first and 10 [Applause] and he can't hang on through the contact it's incomplete what a good job defensively to meet him just as the ball was arriving and it'll be second down from the gun Here Comes Jacobs and he will not be able to get free picking up only a yard now it's third down here's love to throw and on third down that ball incomplete well we all know the running joke right Mike if this guy could catch he'd be playing offense and well I think that's kind of a joke for the past these defensive players are incredible these days that's just too easy you've got to secure that interception for your defense and get off the field a fair catch called and taken right at the 30 yd line here's first and 10 they'll drop to throw open man left side is brown he's got it and they bring him down there but it is inside the 10 it is going to be first and goal it's a big play when they needed it the most almost 61 Ys if you want to score points at a high level in the NFL you have to generate explosive plays and after that big chunk pass play they find themselves now down there in the red zone and this is where you have to finish drives now first and goal here's Barkley they'll get a yard or two to the eight second and goal second and goal motioning the tight end now one more time they try parkley and some space opening up as he works it down to the two this crowd doing everything they can before third and goal they'll run with Barkley and he's so close to to Breaking the plane but the officials going to come in and Mark him short so now it's fourth down this kick is good they move out front and take the lead here in the fourth quarter it's always a little bit of a let down Mike you find yourself deep in the red zone and you have to settle for a short field goal like that in this case he's able to put it through and they get three they finally get him down but he gets all the way up close to the 40 yd line the home team's offense getting those helmets back on ready to head out for their next possession this one has been tight so far a field goal separating the two sides as this drive kicks off with first and [Applause] 10 let's keep those sck growing is love he'll get this out to his running back all right so there's really three areas that a modern NFL running back has to excel at number one the traditional handoffs yes you have to operate out of the back field like a traditional running back number two you have to be excellent and reliable in pass protection and maybe bigger than all of them you have to be at least serviceable out of the back field in the passing right side catch made by dos and that's going to be a first down
