country the Miami Hurricanes taking on a team from the SEC the for Gators for EA Sports and the canes will kick it away to start us off on the move from inside is five able to find enough room to get it out across the 25 he's brought down at the 26 so the Florida Gators offense will start this game off and the adrenaline is pumping on overdrive in games like this guys and it's crucial to get your emotions under control no doubt in rivalry games you've got to limit the mental errors and you've got to limit the penalties cuz those will kill you PA and you got to come out under control it means so much we know that the fans are all talking about it but it's just football to the ground he's got it again he puts him in business across the 50 into the 46 yd line it'll be first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs first the hand off to Johnson not a whole lot of room there three yards maybe second and seven went to the running game on first down now here they come again been showing them the run now they'll throw it calls it in what a throw not a lot of room he fits it in beautifully and they've got it at the 30 for the trying to find his man on first down tight end finds a soft spot and into the end zone touchdown Gator What A Catch and run for six they're on the board first here in the season opener they can use this first score to sort of set the tone guys in this the man today and both guys Can Go the Distance right these two running backs seem to get better as the game goes on so which defense can be more physical step up and at least slow the other guy down nudges ahead for one out to the 16 you can barely hear yourself thinking here as they're trying to get this defense off to a good start they've got the screen set up and the completion gives him a fresh set of downs and keeps this drive moving and the canes getting set on First and 10 they're testing the right side here get him on the ground after a four yd run out to the 31 after the productive first down play it's second and six the give on the inside they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one fessal Rising as the crowd Gets behind this defense on third down to the air it's Ward it's complete to the right and it is well blocked as they pick up enough for a first down and the hurricanes are moving quickly down the field from the gun they'll try to impose their running game a strong tackle and wrap up from the junior after picking up a couple it's second and eight he's looking to throw quick completion on the out route and he'll step out of bounds after a very productive play they need one yard on third down to keep this one going this will be the eighth play of the drive shows him the stiff arm he's out of bounds but not before picking up brought down and that's the final play of the half that's going to wrap up the first half here and now we join Kevin with the halftime update phas what an environment there today all the animosity and Flatout hatred that come comes with a good oldfashioned rivalry game on display in that first half to which team is more efficient when they have the ball and how they play when it matters most with that let's throw it back to the guys to see how this rivalry matchup plays out and the returner could find no daylight he goes down and here comes that Miami offense back onto the field scanning the knows how to get him on the ground Here Comes This Home crowd as the defense tries to get off the field on third down makes his connection good execution they move the sticks and they've got it at the 33 and the canes will have it first and 10 power football with the Run they make the stop as he gets it inside the 30 to the 28 a gain of four solid pick up of four on first down it's second and six pulls it and fires to the lap and the defense settled in to stop that one for a short gain Ball's at the 27 it's third and short can they avoid making that fourth down decision grab near the marker it's Restrepo the crowd getting behind this defense as they try to get a stop in the Red Zone he leaves it with his back and he's able to find a little bit of Running Room before they get him down going to work in the Red Zone they can't pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone looking for a man it's Ward quick strike complete and the defense able to drag him down but not before they'll recycle that down marker he'll set up to throw chunk it away just as he was hit hit hard as he released the ball on that first down pass and it never had a chance the run up the middle here looking for a path to the end zone they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one you can't hear yourself think on Third and goal Let's It Go to The End Zone it falls incomplete he was trying to find his man for six and this kicker is turning into Old Reliable he's already knocked through a couple today field goal is good so after the made field goal they'll kick it away and puts your defense in a bad spot you got to get a drive together here so you don't wear the defense out I just think David too predictable that last Drive they got to do something here to get this defense on their heels squirts across the 30 to the 32 a pick up of five after the last run would you just give it to him again on third down from the gun wants to pass it's complete on the right side a quick tackle made but he's got PL for the first down for first make the winning plays and come home with the victory from the 39 yd line it's first and 10 the hand off to Johnson and I think they'll give him two on that one second and eight coming up tried to pound it on first down now back to the line the RPO it's complete and a good job in coverage there as they stop it after just a few third and short from the 44 and we might know if they plan to go for it on fourth down by what they call here quickly complete he puts him in business across the 50 into the 46 yd line it'll be first down him a sack for this defense the Gators line up to pun away in form to kick it away a fairly short distance here toward the sidelines not his best work here comes the hurricane offense looking to gather a little more strength boy three and out last time David they'd like to be more productive this time around yeah in the last Drive nothing really clicked no rhythm got off the field really really quickly they need to put something together here yeah David bad execution on that last drive so they got to take a collective breath and start playing like a unit on this drive only a couple there and now staring at third and eth they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one they weren't able to get that one off it'll be a delay of [Applause] game the offense couldn't get the snap off in time and it'll cost these fans stepping up to help this defense on third down pressure coming they get up rush and it pays off the sack at the 20 got to give the defense tons of credit because we know how much speed this quarterback has that time you saw the pursuit they were able to bring him down for a big loss on the sack fourth down and the punt team sends it the other way he'll settle for some pretty good field position and make the fair catch at around the 35 line gets set first down they go to the ground and he finds Some solid space makes a nice game before the defense is able to stop him the big pickup on first down leaves him with second and one they'll run it out of the shotgun and he's brought down but the defender got a face full of stiff arm before he picked up that first down first down for the offense give to the running back they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one lost one on that last one it's second and 11 brings up second down to the air it's MERS cats open down the middle and this defense's head is spinning he gets it down to the 27 and Ne Gators have their offense in high gear off the play fake on first down down to throw fires to the wide out a beautifully placed ball to the outside and the tow drag for the big pickup maybe this will breathe a little life into this offense which has been flatlined in the second half here's first and 10 relying on that running game inside the Red Zone pick up three to the 11 at the 11 yd line right back to the well he has an extensive Juke library and he exhausted it and still didn't pick up much wants to throw on third snags it can quite lost the plane to get the six but they'll have the first down and this defense has to step forward not only do they have to get a stop and he takes it in for the score touchdown Gator this running back was not going to be denied nice blocking up front to create a hole for this running back and he was able to take advantage and with the extra point the lead is a dozen here in the fourth about to kick it away after scoring the [Applause] touchdown Miami and he takes this from inside the five he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 and here comes that Miami offense back onto the field they're going to throw it to start the Drive makes the catch it's Restrepo and they'll finally catch up to him but not before a big chunk of yardage is picked up well they've got a ways to go if they're going to win this game it's all about getting the drive started They Come Away with a positive play to get this thing going let's see what they can do now quick completion on the out and he'll run across the sidelines after the good game trying to get a rhythm in the passing game now on second down they're trying to get to it caught over the middle it's Martinez really nice job there by both guys to throw and the catch to work that defense and get the first down and a great job by the QB finding the running back getting the football where he can do some damage after the catch and most importantly get the first down and they knock him down but he got past the line gain the canes want to move quickly well you've seen the last two plays now this guy's versatility you've seen why he might be playing on Sunday is in the not too distant future this guy can catch them and the quarterback will take a sack back at the 36 that offense having to deal with the last thing you want on first down giving up a sack as they come up to the line on second down catch in the middle it's Martinez didn't pick up a rot there moved it Forward just a few decb Rising as the crowd Gets behind this defense on third down he's looking downfield to throw how about that catch diving grab along the left sideline we reached the two-minute warning and we see miracles in college football all of the time and they could use one here back to throw it's Ward he's got it on the move and he goes out of bounds after a nice pick up on that one operating in the Red Zone here on second down looking to throw it again second and that one is Right On Target if his Target was the first row do out of ground to cover and not much to defend a big third down in the Red Zone didn't have much of a choice just had to throw that one away it'll be fourth down no signs of any kind of kicker as they'll leave the offense out there to try to move those chains they'll get him stopped just short of the end zone but in business here with a first down they convert the fourth down but back to the line with no time to waste wants to go up top going for six he was open he had it and he dropped it would have been a touchdown instead it's second down go on second down he'll fire got it takes it to the house touchdown Miami and listen still a ways to go a great job by this offense getting you back in the ball game now we got a one possession game we got our score we did what we're supposed to do now how do we get this stopped now the defense has to come up big and get me the rock back just under a minute and a half to play and to have a shot you got to believe they have to recover this onside kick movement from the linebackers trying to mess with the offensive Line's assignments the handoff keep working on that clock timeout called there by the defense desperate to get the ball back and save as much time as possible on second down let's see if they go right back to the run and put this game on Ice they'll give it to Johnson nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the carry quick timeout called by the defense stopping the clock to save as much time as possible for their offense on Third and long try to convert through the air and the incomplete pass will bring up fourth down the gator send out the punt unit let's see if he can help the coverage team out with this one and the punt hits ground at the two and goes into the end zone he just missed pinning them right in the shadow of the goal post it'll come out to the 20 quickly complete they make the stop after the catch and still some work to do to pick up that first down clock's running and they'll try to get to the line warp speed for second down back to pass it's Ward using the quick game and they wrap him up but not before he gets enough on the catch for the first down clock stops momentarily for the first down they'll hurry to the line no time to waste here they've got to get set and pick up up chunk yardage he's back to throw on second down misses receiver there it's incomplete big third down as the crowd Gets behind this defense he wants to throw it a little screen to the running back keeps the legs moving and the tackle was made but there has been a flag thrown illegal block the officials offer the deal and the coach accepts it they will take the penalty on third down going up top caught in the back field it's Martinez he ended up losing yardage on the play and that'll bring up fourth down desperate to convert and he'll throw it here's a throw downfield late hits him in stride at the 10 the offense gets the timeout 12 ticks left on the clock fans are bringing the noise on first and goal nobody the open he just throws it away and it'll bring up second down this crowd knows when to bring it he's looking for an open man on second down he caught it and he was dying to push his way in there but he's knocked down at the three as disappointing as this is everything's still in front of this team I mean think back to 1983 Miami got blown out in the opener but won the National Championship you're absolutely right re lots to play for here and there's no doubt when you watch this team they've got the talent to get it done they got to execute better they got to iron out some of these mistakes we saw here on the field today but I think if this is a team if they stay healthy throughout the course of the Year David they've got a lot to play for this season goodness
