UEFA Europa conference League quarterfinal and semi-final draws the round of 16 came to a thrilling conclusion last night as clubs battled until the final whistle to keep their hopes of lifting the trophy alive the first four teams to punch their tickets through to the quarterfinals in the early window of matches were Czechs side Victoria pilson in a penalty shootout against CET Turkish Giants fener Bache thanks to a decisive first leg Victory against Uno sji Greek Club pook who were back in this round after overturning a two-goal deficit and Italian side Fiorentina who reached this round for the second consecutive season the final four clubs who were then confirmed later in the evening where Aston Villa who overcame ax at home CL brouge beat MDA Le cruised Past St gra and in the highest scoring Affair of the round with 12 total goals in this tie we had olympos eliminating makabi de aiv only a few victories now separate these eight clubs from lifting the trophy in Athens on gentlemen as we enter the final acts of the Third Edition of the conference League we look back with satisfaction at the emotions and thrills that this great competition has brought us this season fans are no doubt delighted with the doors this competition is opening for clubs to reach new European hates and add a piece of silverware to their at trophy cases but don't just take it from me please seven National associations are represented in this round including six clubs who reach this stage of the competition for the very first time and six have the chance to leave the European trophy for the first time in their history the unpredictable spice of the conference League will become even more tantalizing next year as we introduce the league phase format we are all looking forward to it bearing in mind however that the season has still a lot in hand to satisfy our appetite for emotions so here to help us map out the road to Athens is one of gree's greatest ever Title competition so far um what matches or teams have have impressed [Music] you [Music] short translation the the match that impressed him the most last night without doubt was oakos managing to revert a 4-1 deficit from from the first leg and then there are other teams that had different paths to the to the quarterfinals what does it mean for Athens and Greece to to host the final [Music] League they a short reminder this is a completely open Draw no country protection no cated teams and no special conditions the eight balls containing the names of the quarterfinalists are all plac in this bowl and the pairings will simply be determined by drawing a first team against a second team with a first one playing the first leg at home the calendar of the quarterfinals and also the semi-final League last year and the first team who has scored more than 50 goals in total in this competition now with the quarterfinal already clear we now need to know the lineup for the uh semi-finals and uh this will be another integral draw among the four teams which will qualify from the quarterfinals indicated as winners of quarterfinal one to quarterfinal four again the first team drone will play the first leg of semi-finals at home and uh we can go ahead vilis we can start with the first team or the first winner in semi-final One winners of quarterfinal three so Aston Villa or Los L will feature the following week so on the 18th the semi-finals we've got the first leg on the 2nd of May with a return fixture scheduled for the 9th of May and of of course the final will be in Athens on the 29th
