Building Unshakable Trust: Lessons from My Blue Angels Days

[Music] you know I think about teamwork I think about my time on the Blue Angels when we were the most tight-knit group and team that I've ever been with it's all about trust if I give you one one thing of wisdom is you have to learn how to trust and you have to build and earn trust every single day you came in with a certain level of trust but every day you earned it and you built it and small things matter I'll give you example Thumper and I would come at each other he was my opposing solo pilot thousand miles per hour closer crossed within a wingspan I mean how do you do that if you're off by one second you're going to miss by two football fields well you do it with the process but the most important part is getting in sync with an individual where you trust them I would say thump I'll be on the flight line won't be 5 foot left or 5 right be right on that flight line I'll set the timing Corrections I'll set the altitude I'll give you the command to execute a full stick deflection role you my wingman have one job miss me that was the highest levels of trust and with that and I call them high trust contracts you can do anything so what trust do you have what trust do you have with your teammates where you can look them in the eye and say you can count on me I'm going to count on you
