Bit of a Heart Pounder - August 25th, 2024 (NYT Games)

hello internet today is Sunday August 25th 2024 and what do I have to say today um well I do have a song recommendation which I get every once in a while I know I've recommended Promises by De leopard um Crazy by Nars Berkeley or whatever the name is today it is um a bit of a throwback even more so than Promises by De leopard it is I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues by Elton John surely you've heard it if not go listen to it and even if you know it even if you love it there's your excuse to go listen to it again now that is not um what's going to influence my word today although it actually would work a bit better Blues would work better than what I'm going to go with because I have to stick to my Laurels maybe I'll do Blues tomorrow if I remember I bet you I won't and now what I was going to say my word is going to be quote and I'm going to lock that in before I it and the reason that I use quote is because my last two titles have had semi funny I'm doing air quotes right now semi funny quotes So alternative success and I believe yesterday's was standup whatever uh I don't even know well technically today's but you know you're seeing I recorded it yesterday um hold on oh I could do create a I could do plate anyway so that's what I'm doing I use the word quote because I used quotes in my last two titles now I could do crate I could do plate I could be wrong either way but I have the potential to get a two guess Wordle I thought a crate first so let's see it no let try plate then that's not it either okay I feel a little bit better that I wasn't going to be right either way but what could this be what could this be that makes me think that one of the three letters that's already in the word is going to be in another spot such as a gate I believe that's a word but that is not what the word is okay this is going to be very frustrating if wooden desk I end up losing this Al together let's try State okay I have to be very very careful with the word that I put in here and honestly as I'm looking at my options I do not know what this could be sorry for the uh dead air once again but I I really don't know what this could even be I mean is seat with an e is that a word I don't think it is is smate a word I don't even know is a word but that seems a little bit vulgar and not an actual word I have no idea what to go with here but an m is calling out to me I don't even know if smate is a word but I'm going to hit the an keade no okay snate I don't believe that's a word either I'm going to try seat that's not word either okay I feel like I'm going to get it just because there's only one letter that actually works here oh my God it's skate that is so ridiculously embarrassing that I didn't get that earlier um not because and I don't mean earlier in the sense of earlier in my guesses but earlier like knowing the other four letters and I didn't see the K and make any sense of it that was so much more stressful and suspenseful than it should have been but what is important is I got it my streak is alive I still haven't lost a Wordle since I started recording so I like it I will keep it going I hope but let's see if if I win or lose let's try to do it a little bit quicker here in the connections steaming and heating sounds like they could go together and H uh fuming fuming although these are words in HVAC heating ventilation and air conditioning yes words that make up the acronym HC now I'm kind of surprised that that is the blue category because that jumped out to me pretty much immediately um but I'll take it so fuming and steaming are both words for heat or anger let's try these yep hop that is a that is a funny way to say that sounds like something that an Englishman would say or like somebody British not not New York right I've never heard that phrase before it sounds very British to me I like it though now ranking standing position and what else station I feel like would have to be it yes so very easy connections perfect connections as a matter of fact and I had no idea actions or activities that involve folding I hardly even looked at those words so very good connections I feel like I've lost at least the last two in a row um so glad to see that I can turn it back around today and hopefully keep it going tomorrow now let's see if I can get some good luck in the mini as well public transit option could be a bus girl boss is that a brand I'm not confident enough scrambled they may look like this eggs how creative I got it from the word scrambled but you know like some software and swamps buggy maybe impressively humid is muggy flee line boots Uggs huge and [Music] soy that was that jingle was very loud I don't know if you could hear that the completion jingle 42 seconds is pretty good I feel like I could have done it a little bit quicker um because all these um all these uh categories were fairly straightforward the these were the only two I really struggled with and this one I shouldn't have but pretty good pretty good mini overall I will take it um even with the room for improvement 42 seconds is pretty good so let's see if I can get a good strand here into the woods immediately makes me think of the musical but I'm sure that's not what this is referring to here now what could it be referring to I'm seeing some letters in nature but not in the correct order um I see letters in hiking I'm seeing a lot of letters in Words that make sense that are not connected what could I connect here I want to try to keep it going I want to go three for four today well really four for four but oh call me Wendy haha that wasn't funny I'm sorry um really four for four but that Wordle was so embarrassing in that I don't even know if I could say uh four for four without feeling very guilty about it I don't really know what I'm looking for here let's go for a I really want to try to get a perfect strands here now that I've did that got a perfect connections and a really good mini I feel like if I could just get one word and get the ball rolling I might be able to do it into the woods you would think that eventually I would come across a word just because it's a word right and I'm I'm struggling to even find words out of these letters and I don't know if I'm going to be finding animals if it is about the musical um I believe there's a witch in that musical because isn't that from Wicked or is Into the Woods it's own thing or are they somewhat connected I really don't know I guess it would be appropriate for New York to get some theatrical references given that they have Broadway that said I really I still don't know what I'm looking for here bear bear what bears live in woods right bear meal I don't know um all right let's just get a hint Pine okay so maybe we're looking for types of trees now I would think Oak but Oak is not enough letters for the strands because it requires four-letter words it can't I'm not seeing the letters in Redwood and the only other tree I can think of is ever green and I'm not seeing that either and I I frankly never would have thought to to look for types of trees either bits I don't know if words will ever cross over themselves like this I don't I don't think I've I've ever seen it happen before that said I'm going to get another hint here Beach yeah there this is going to be a very long strands I think I think I might have ended my luck here [Music] Forest is that that's seriously the Spang gram that is a very underwhelming Spang gram but this is also a very underwhelming uh strands performance so I guess I can't talk well I I did something by myself I think I did nice this is not all for not at least pole what kind of pole King no Jin no maybe there's no pole at all let's see there's not Maple this is Maple and this is this is what there's only so many ways that this um these letters could go given logical vowel placements Ginko okay I don't know what a Ginko is that was a complete guess this is Sycamore and this is test nut all right what did I use three hints four maybe I used three I will take that that could be worse again just very very timec consuming strands very timec consuming whle um pretty good Connections in mini though so kind of took the middle two and did much better than the Wordle um bit of a heart pounder there that might be the title bit of a heart pounder I think is
