e good morning everyone welcome back to the channel welcome back to time madon I hope you're doing well I hope you're having a good weekend it's very started early hope it's been a good morning let's see Tottenham let's see if Tottenham way to Newcastle going through that result going see what happens let's see if we can make it a really good weekend for Spurs fans because Spurs we've had success there but normally it turns out that we suffer some very very heavy defeats there as well so we'll have to wait and see which way it goes but we're here today build up watch along got guests coming on plenty of people have the link so they can come and have their say as in we in the buildup to it um so we're going to do that have a talk and then they're here for the watch along after the fact um as well so stick around for that but yeah we're just going to talk we're going to see the lineups as they come out going to discuss and see whether we think it's a good thing yes or no let's see how Newcastle play let's see how Spurs play Let's we're going to get into all of it we're going to discuss all of it and hopefully at the end of it three points for Spurs and on the way to fourth place in left because I think that Doe has done enough in four games straight to be dropped for a game or two where he's been lazy coming back and he's actually cost us two or three goals but apart from that yeah good call I think the celo definitely deserves a place in there more than Madison at the moment yeah no look I if I'm going to pick a team today um it would be obviously that backline I would put Benton Cor in over basuma I would put Lelo in over and I'm not a Lelo fan I I support anyone that as long as they're playing well but um basuma has been shocking Benton think bassum yeah yeah bent and Cor in but Madison I think because it's the name sign in the tack like the person we've not had since Ericson I think a lot of fans have given him a leeway when really he shouldn't get the leeway because since coming back from injury he's been poor and he's been the odd game here or there or the OD part of the game where he's been good but more often than not it's been a poor performance from Madison and I think a drop in in him for LEL coming in will shake things up and maybe give him a kick out the backside that he may need so I Lelo over Madison and this is coming from me who doesn't rate Madison rate Lelo as much as others do you know maybe it'll give him kick up the a so I'm not like I said I don't do favorites I try and be as honest as I can um s of course I'd start um son Johnson and other stick Verner and look Scarlet I I know people want to see youngsters or people like that I just don't think Scarlet the level that we need I think he's not going to make it as much as maybe potentially our other young younger stars coming through but Divine that yeah I would stick with verer on the left I think that front although you can improve on those Wingers for me I think at the moment they're our best option so I would stick with them because Kulu is not performed either so I wouldn't have him but that would be my team for today but we will see when an releases the when we get the team news in 23 minutes what we think what what we think of the team and whether it's a good team or not um Rob beler says good morning Alan good friend Dan come when you Spurs big up Rob for being in the comments I hope you're doing well hope you're doing well my friend um let's talk the game today um what do we need to do anything I mean we know the whole he won't change what he's doing but is anything else needed um to like is something needed to different today because we always concede and you've got to be able to keep more clean sheets than what we're seeing with is second behind Pace directness same with Gordon pace and directness um and I believe it's is it Murphy or is it Jo on I think it's Murphy on the other side all of these have got um all all these people have got pace and directness ven can't cover all three vaner can't cover all areas of the backline and this is the kind of worry that when things like this happen when we play Highline against teams that have gotten have speed in behind us you're gonna have to ask bandent to do so much his hamstrings you know I'm worried about that is it a case where maybe in a game like this with Peter pacing behind um you need to tweak like tweak things drop five yards deeper or 10 yards deeper whatever it may be and and before you do that Beth good morning Allan you supp wow um yeah there you go obviously Dan just like God FML but yeah should we tweak anything or change something slightly for this game it's just one them things what we should and what we will two different things he said he ain't going to change so I suppose only time will tell in that one but this is the whole point I've been making for months on end now and same as you there's certain games where you do have to make that little change for certain for certain teams because when you've got two fast Wingers and and a fast Striker coming on you you and you're pushing up so high you can't just rely on vaner ven because it's already shown like in the last game that we will concede goals with it because ad DOI has been lazy just lately and basuma in DM is just not working I would tell him to drop back that little bit more to cover the back a bit more but basically Play The Way We have been to an extent because I think that we will definitely score goals with Newcastle but you can pretty much say as a 95% chance we would definitely concede as well and what you said about vanen we've said this over and over again my mate Tom said it from what his second game when you play with that much pace and rely on that much Sprint because he gets to his top speed in like two footsteps yeah whether people see it or not there is 100% going to be hamstring injuries you look at every player that relied on their Sprint not just Pace but Sprint they always done their hamstring I mean Michael Owen was one of your Prime ones of that one and if we keep relying on him to do that we're going to get hamstring injuries every season and the problem is with hamstrings and that same as ligaments same as doing your back once you've done it you'll only ever fix it 80 to 90% And then once you've done it again you'll only fix it 80% of that and sooner or later he will get a serious injury yeah I mean he's already had a tear isn't he yeah and I do think we do have to be careful with that we for me we definitely have to be careful with it I mean he's already had it Go twice really this we this season and one was three months four months out the other one was literally well um it would have been more games out but the um International window like England like playing International Football kind of took away from that but for me I know people are saying oh it doesn't need to change like for every blaz over it doesn't need to change no and know what he's doing this any other but I'm thinking okay you see it doesn't need to change but we are we're self-inflicting on our defender on Van getting those injuries we are it's self-inflicted because the amount he's having to cover and he's already shown earlier on in this season and what's happened that it's obviously a weekly not a weak spot for him but it's it's an area that can go so the whole oh don't need to change you know he knows what he's doing you plays where you go out and all that but we've all said most of the fan base will come on here and say van defen is a Rolls Roy Defender he's he's got the ability to be top but if we're adding to his injury r with the um H hamstring because of having to get him to do so much that are we not taking away a very good Defender from us if we just continue to implement this higher line Vander then will take care of it flashback there will s it you know we're just going to add to our own problems and then if he goes we then got to find a top speed like a speedy Defender to be able to do what he's doing this is just concerns I have and I think this is why I always say we don't tweak things we don't sort if we don't change things a little bit here and there it's just going to be to our own detriment for me I I totally agree 100% and the other thing I can say for a fact is we are never ever going to find another Defender as fast as vanen I mean he's been proven the fastest Defender the Premiership has seen and it's it's not going to happen but hopefully we could get a Pacey one here I mean let me turn the question around for you oh we who would who would we miss more for let's say two months vanen or Romero I know I'd rather Romero neither of them get injured but I'd rather Romero get injured than vanen vanen is more important to us as it stands for me I mean especially when vanen is not there and we we play the same way with that High Line the people in like the balls in behind it's where we get caught out this is what I'm saying like about tweaking it you know who you've got your team as the way we play vanent is the prime asset in our defense like yes you got Romero getting stuck in you know [ __ ] howery whatever you want to say you've got him doing that you've got people obviously like loving it and stuff like which is fine physical not allowing attack Moval or trying to get into that's fantastic but when it comes to the way we play and the weaknesses that people try and exploit van Deen is the person that does most of the mopping up and nullifies attacks as and when when he can so for me yes I I I I agree with most people saying that Romero is a very good def quality Defender he absolutely is but for the way we play the most crucial part of that defense is vanen crucial part of that def absolutely um by the way I do have another guest coming on just a moment um he did come up back stage but then he disappeared Chan will be joining us very shortly I know sor will be joining us in about 15 and quite a few other people have got the link so to come on um so yeah we've got a couple more guests come don't go anywhere um it's not just me and Dan we got other people joining for a nice little chat so so get this um but Dan we spoke speaking about the defense we're talking about the defense and like the the holding midfielder that isn't being that hasn't protected that back line now people are saying that we haven't got the player to do that this season after most we waxing lyrical how we got one of the best midfields in the league is that if we don't have the person whether it's Benton Cora to do that for the rest of the season if you think they can that's brilliant but is it Paramount that we get not just any number any number six but we have to make that number six that person who's going to do an assist the defense maybe to help vanen out to you know help Romero out he's not always having to get into it and stuff like that is that number six if we don't have that Personnel got to be the top quality that Spurs have all Spurs F have always asked for in regards to we have to go and try and Shop in the in the top tier rather than try and get somebody we have to bring up like as a youngster and develop and all that is it one of them where number six needs to be top level player and nothing else will do 100% I mean it depends what six you're looking for I mean at the moment I think we need an anchor man there more than anything and I would be starting hyberg over basuma because as an out and out Anchor Man or such hyberg your place there but if people are saying we want a DM and like a deep Li playmaker we've already got him I've said it a 100 times Bon C he did it for four years straight at Juventus and won titles with them doing it and was brilliant at it because Bon cor can tackle the only thing that SS with Bon core for me is his concentration here in there so why isn't it working out for Bon core in this if he's done it at Juventus and he was doing it for con why is it not working in Anie system then with b and cor I know he's had injuries but he he's got to the point now where he's had game time he should be able to why is it not working for him what we saw under con why is it completely different to how he is under um how he is under an what's the difference what's what's gone wrong we're not playing him as a DM we're playing him as box to boox or just playing him as a bit of a playmaker in the middle basically yeah and it's how the formation changes why it goes on I do get it and everything when the ball comes back then you got your man there drops back as the DM the other attacking Midfield or whatever comes back to level it out in the middle if we're just going to use an out andout DM there defensive midfielder there and you also want him to be a bit of a playmaker at the same time we've got our man Benton C C he he's done it in well probably one of the hardest leagues to play that way in Italy and he's being there done it got the story book He's also done it for his country other thing is with him he can get forward as well if that's what you want him to do so you can get him when we're up the other end of the pitch you can then get him to press forward there's a bit of a box to boox as well Bon C's got it all he can do it and is proven he can but he seems to be the only one we don't use as a defensive m Fielder and if you want that allrounder defensive midfielder like uh Paulino um uh Fulham we've got the man there who can do the job for the meantime at least and do a better job than basuma and do a better job than hyberg because hyberg you're going to get defensive Midfield through and through which is one thing I think we definitely need that bit basuma he's more of a boxto boox man in the middle basically an going forward sort of thing if that's what people want to call it if we're going to use a defensive midfielder and like I said you want him to be able to also start off with a good pass on that Benson call your man he's there he done it for four years at Juventus three of them he played over 30 Games the season and won titles with him that and was one of the best in the league at it no fair fair enough so I mean maybe it's a case of an well when I've seen benore play I think he's actually been the deeper of the like when he's played this is when he comes on something that might be the fact we change things around but I see him always defend it like being a deep line midfielder in an system it just doesn't seem like it's working the same way as what it was under like a con or or Mourinho modes because they are actually defens minded managers and they get the best out of a defensive attributed player where benor has that like you said done at Juventus so he he's done that at Spurs as well we've seen that so it could be that aspect Chang welcome back to the Channel my friend I hope you're doing well I hope you're doing good um we're talking about we spoke about the defense we we're talking about the Deep line midfielder um whether it would be bent and C today basuma having to protect that that CD like the two Defenders because we see when the inverted fullbacks go forward there's loads of room there the midfielder isn't really dropping back and we stretched people getting at us um who would you start today as that deep line midfielder would it be Ben and cor would it be Duma would you saw um who would you play that position and why I would actually like to give hyar a chance there in that Central defensive Midfield role if B or say bisa isn't going to be starting honestly if you look at the Times the amount of times that hyar has been able to win back possession and recycle possession in that position I believe his statistics speaks for themselves not only in this season alone but for previous uh previous season past whether it's under Mourinho or con or or even temporary under Ryan Mason for me it's more about getting a balance really it's not so much of who is the perfect uh modern Scott Parker if you will for Spurs right now uh under the anch ball system it's more of just how well that Central defensive midfielder fits everything else whether it's the inverted fullbacks whether it's the center backs behind him or even the uh uh attacking midfielders or the uh White midfielders around him my primary concern conern is that regardless of whoever is in that role they are able to to do what is expected of them when called upon not so much of whether it's a bensan or your bisas or Pepe Matas SARS even a Oliver skape or a Hy beer if this person assuming it say bisa if bisa is called upon to fill that void fill that role but he is not able to perform up to Big angers expectations and standards then regardless of how good he is or how big of an expectations we fans have for him it then simply nullifies whatever is expected of him in that role under Big H the same could be said for Haier if let's say under Mourinho or even under con he was able to flourish in a certain center defensive midfielder role uh that is not uh reliant on the inverted fullbacks or even or how high our defensive fly presses forward it's all about how well your you're able to go about your task when it is tasked upon yourself to do it and just how well you fit in with the rest of the squad personally today itself I wouldn't be surprised if we actually saw Hoy bear start the match and deputi in that particular role of course if we get someone like the likes of uh theuma or SAR or even skip or even banur come come to that we might see something different uh from maybe previous games if we were to sit back sit back soak up pressure and try to hit them on the counter but then again I've not seen the starting lineups which I think is going to be available in 10 minutes yep 10 minutes from now so it'll be very interesting to see the starting lineups if and when it is uh announced and also to whoever it is who's going to be starting in that role today I wish him the best of luck and come on you Spurs come on you Spurs indeed thank you very all in all in like the spirit of thinking what you think what's best for Spurs and what you would prefer but there's no Echo chamber here everyone has a different opinion and I welcome all different came off the bench I think he done all right I think he done well and I'll give praise where it's due even though I think players Aren't Enough if they play well I've got to praise them I can't it'll be be so disingenuous to me if I don't CR if I don't praise where praise is needed sorry you were bad say Dan I think he was brilliant when he came on apart from those one or two cups he made at the end of the day when you do good you do good when you do crap you get told as well and I think hyberg I think his game was good enough to start this one over basuma because I don't think you're going season does he not need to play well for the rest of the season we've got to be like yes he's had injuries but we' saw him between injuries the first and second one where he had two or three games where he was really good so this what I'm saying we've got I think some of the Spurs fan base allow things go to go on for too long I I think we need to start being a bit more no dropped for somebody else or sold for somebody I I think we need to be a bit more ruthless as a fan base um but yeah that's just me Kulu has played the most minutes says Lee so chances are oh the team news is out um like you kind of wonder why he's dropped SAR again um look I mean I don't think basuma had too bad a match last actually I I think he did some fairly good things but you know a lot of average things Benson ker well if Benson K is in his St why hasn't hyar uh that that's my argument because I think H was probably better than Bon K other than two slightly mislaid passes um he controls it he Cals him a bit more but yeah it's it's not a surprising team to be honest with you um I think we're starting to see that an probably prefers bisa to play and boner so it doesn't surprise me fa fair enough it doesn't surprise sain um but for me look people were saying about s could have a bad back and I I get that maybe that's what but he started last game you know I I don't know I don't know what's going on there but he's going with hopefully it works hopefully there's a reason behind it but I would have preferred to see sarin there philly2 and9 says big up Allan how long did it take van D to recover from his ACL there's no telling how long it would take for bent and cor to get back to his best consistently which is well we told fans to calm down Philly I think obviously as always thank you for coming back into the comment section and watching the content but let me be honest here the reason Ben C's being bad or Worse ever since that second injury which isn't the a ACL that he suffered when he came back from the ACL yes there was one or two get back to it but then he picked up to what he was before he got injured again he was literally playing the same thing there was two or three games where he was back to his best we were like fantastic he hasn't lost trick or he's literally the same type of player and then he got the second injury and he's been injured then so it's not the ACL I think we need to get past the ACL it was second injury now two injuries back to back with not much playing time fair enough you could say that that is the problem or that that could be a factor but Benton cor was back to his best before his second injury after the ACL so that and I'm a bacor fan I think he's a great player that doesn't wash with me for me that's that's we can't make excuses where they don't need some excuses Alan I'll just jump on there it's I've done all my ligaments in my knee total totally did the lot uh both knees and it's not necessarily that they're not right it's mentally mentally for a long time afterwards you feel twinges that you're not used to anymore you think is it going to go again and it's it's all those little things with an ACL and and ligaments that it's not necessarily the injury it's the mental yeah you know it's the mental side that I mean I did I think I've done mine both knes I've done them twice now totally totally gone and yeah I the last time I did it was eight years ago and I still feel mentally this still times when I think that's about to go you know the stomach not right in my knees again yeah um so it's it's not necessarily that it's it's you know the ACL side of it will be there for a long time but it's mental it's not necessarily physical you oh no I was just gonna say um um do do do Danny kiraku if you're in the comments mate that little pull on there that you didn't feel before I've never done my knee before whereas on my back you're just waiting for it sort of thing and you feel every sort of movement on there I I'll make you 100% right on what you're saying it is true it's a fact I mean look at Virgil Van djk ever since he done his AC this is his first real season that he's actually doing good again and you could see he was scared when he came on that pitch and started playing after PF foot busted him he wasn't the same man he didn't go in for the same tackles he probably had more than enough physically capability and was healed up and everything but that thing in the back of your mind I'll make you I'll make you a million perc right there mate spot on there you go um fair enough let's go back to the regards to the fact that new we know we can get at them so the attacking um Midfield and more you know to be able to create more fantastic but also in the other direction will there be less protection for a very energetic and you know quick front free of new castles is there a bit of a misstep here or is it a case of risk reward Chang will come you first but open discussion after Chang's comments you know is it a case of is this the game to be more attacking than not I think for this game in particular we really have to capitalize on the number of injuries that Newcastle are hampered with if there is one game that we can really try to just throw the kitchen sink and pretty much everything that we have in our Arsenal uh in their Direction this would be the game to do it I don't think we can afford to just sit back soak up pressure and play the normal sort of uh Ticky Tacker game that we do with u most other oppositions away from home this is that one game that we really should go for the jugular regardless of whom they are starting up front or whom they have in Midfield or even whom they're going to deploy in uh defense to try and soak up that pressure of ours this is that one game where we cannot uh afford to like throw caution to the win and try to like sort of uh try to go uh Toe to Toe with them uh on your home ground let's give them a game let's give the fans bang for The Bu let's uh play our way that we know best let's try and get some momentum because the last time if if memories tells me right the last time before we went into a long uh period of nonleague football uh because uh have we have nothing up next weekend the last time we enter some of these matches we sort of like held back and we were sort of like conserv conserving ourselves for God knows what this match I want the let us to go for it we have nothing to look forward to in midweek we have nothing in Europe we have nothing next weekend so why not just go for it doesn't matter whom they regardless of whatever uh the opposition does whatever Eddie how is uh have planning up his sleeve we really should go for it this game and then in retrospect look at our performance today and use that as a barometer going to the next uh four matches that will be crunch which is be is that's going to be Liverpool uh Arsenal Chelsea and I think uh yeah someone else there one there one I think it's Burnley so use this game as The Benchmark go for it don't really matter whom they have uh in the forward Department I'm sure our defense and our wing backs can more uh have more than ample uh experience to cope with it give the fans a game and hope for the best in this match fair enough before obviously um saen and Dan in there the Newcastle starting lineup is Deka Murphy craft Shaw burn longstaff gz Anderson Barnes isack golden so that's the starting 11 for Newcastle which is very attack heavy but obviously as we were just discussing it's a case of you know we can get at them defensively but they can also in a quick transition obviously counterattacking football can get to us defensively as well um whoever wants to go first down or S and obviously just have a fly discussion that um uh Midfield high risk Hy W or or not well we're going to have to watch out the other one that I do rate that they've got a Newcastle is Zach gz he's another one who I wouldn't actually mind at Spurs I think he very good Center and also covers DM very good as well yeah so there's going to be power in that uh in the center of their mid as well and that's usually the place we go for to play through the middle basically isn't it and then to put it out a bit wider once we gone through the middle that's not going to be an easy game they've got Pace on there and they've got some quality on there a lot of injuries but they've got more than enough there to give us trouble without a doubt especially being so high forward when they've got that bit of pace up front and they have got strength in the middle as well I was hoping that gz wouldn't play it I I think the way we set up now though um and I think this is why we've gone with the Midfield we've gone it's it's not necessarily looking at who we're playing anymore it's it's just anre system and he's going to play the way he wants to and you kind of look at that and you think if we weren thinking of papar then we'd be quite happy with that Midfield won't we that's that's the thing you know it's it's it's a it's a classy Midfield and you kind of see game on game on game that Madison and Benson k and basuma to an extent haven't hit that Heights that they were at but they they are getting better you know you can see the improvements game on game it's just that they're not what improvements do you see on basuma what so you don't think bisa played better last game than compared to say five games ago he might have played better but he was still crap yeah but that's what I'm saying they are they are progressing they seem to be getting that form back I totally get what you're saying but can go on about yeah he's played slightly better but he has still been absolute crap so I mean I'm not I'm not advocating basuma starting or anything said I would have had papar but if if we um put Benton K as the DM and actually play basuma what he's there to play as as a box to box I think that could work a basuma for weeks and weeks now D that you know bisa so does do do we put the the blame at an then for not putting him in what is progressively his strongest position well so Mr sorry Mr sorin if you remember last time we were on together uh during the pre-match PumpUp for nottingam Forest at home uh remember I said something of how Pepe Metar needs a theumer beside him to sort of like Mentor him and tutor him and then you did uh in in in uh how how shall I say this in counter counter yeah you then sit that is actually buum that needs the Pepe matasar instead of the other way around if you to watch that first half against Nottingham Forest at home that first half when bisa was in his elements when he had when he was in the groove at first half in the halftime Pepe matasar grew in confidence in the game but then somewhere in the middle of that first half the moment B's level the moment his standards dropped so did Pepe matasar and before halim you could see that both of them were struggling big time which is why big anch brought on benan and Hy beer on at halim for bisa and pepen basar this is actually what I've been noticing about bisa and the effect that he actually has or with on the midfielders that come inside him the moment he actually goes missing whoever he's partnering with in that Central Midfield role behind medicine they are going to have a very tough time having to cope when the inverted fullbacks push forward and go so high up that he leaves so much gaps and spaces behind them I'm of the opinion and this is solely my own opinion anyway either one of buum or Pap matur or even aeno and Hy the moment one of them goes missing it is not just one of them both of them have to take accountability and responsibility and if neither of them is going to to the line then big Eng to do what he did last uh Sunday and is to take off both those midfielders and bring on another two new pairing because the moment one of them goes missing if let's say patas sar's partner in crime is bisa but the moment one of them is taken off and someone else is partner with either bisa or Pap matasar if there isn't that understanding that that dynamism and that uh uh what you call this the cohesion between them both then it's it's uh yeah it's pointless almost you've just contradicted yourself basically yeah totally contradicted what you're saying because you've said the um well one player goes missing when basuma goes missing so they're both to blame for it well no if s's going miss him because he's got to cover basuma because he's playing so crap that is not s's full yeah so taking them both off because they're both doing crap is contradicting what you're saying you take the one off who is playing crap that he making the other one worse because he's having to come back and cover so you just stick hyberg or Bon K on there but I'm not disagreeing with what an done it worked but you can't blame it on both players if you're saying that one goes down because the other goes down and he's got a cover it totally contradicts everything you just said yeah I mean that's kind of what I was saying to you last week that to me it's it's when basuma plays better when Papa's playing and it allows basuma to maybe have that Mar for a role but then when he's asked to do more defending and it doesn't suit Puma's game as much which then makes paps s look bad like Dan just said because he's having to cover what the other and this is what we were saying last season when we were only playing two in Midfield that we were just overrun so it made the whole team look poor and it made the defense look really poor that if if you're going to do it you need to find that that coach you know that that position for bisa which is probably further up than what he is playing and just allow papar to basically run across the Midfield wherever he wants to be I think the difference is when you're playing someone like basuma as that more attacking midfielder that's when we need that proper number six and that's the difference where what he's trying to do at the moment is not really have a number six and and sort of say basuma and Benton k for today one of them's got to defend while the the one goes forward and that's the problem with bisa he can't necessarily do the defending quite as well so therefore it makes him look like he's having a poorer game than what maybe is because he's not the natural defensive one he's far better going forward and supporting Madison then first 10 games when basuma it you know we could sit on this panel and say bisa was man of the match Madison was man of the m and you couldn't really disagree with either one of them them whereas now bisa is nowhere near that but back then basuma was up front alongside Madison creating everything and running the show yeah and that's when buum he strung and then all of a sudden I don't know whether it was the yellow cards or whether it was his head's gone or whether an just pulled him back a little bit and said get back more you know I don't know but something changed with him that just three I think I Madison and Bon K obviously that was down to injuries Puma wasn't necessarily injuries it was it was either mental or it was tactical and something's changed within his system because I I know you can have poor patches and purple patches But after those 10 games you you you would struggle to pick even a half where basuma has had a good half since then that and you know it's whatever's changed within his game has changed his his his play halis has been his only decent game since then where he basically got told to sit back as a six and he did he did the job he didn't go nowhere else that has only been that I've seen where he's actually had a good game but what you've said there the whole lot could make sense because ever since he got sent off and everything else he's gone right down hill but ever since then as well we've been playing him a lot deeper he's a box-to-box midfielder end of that is what he is and this is why I feel I think we've all lost a little bit and maybe even an might being what do we want do we want a six there who can defend and also be the playmaker or do we want the Anand there what do we want I don't think everybody knows exactly what we want or need there I think the thing is depending because of the way an plays and obviously he's come out and said it himself that he doesn't necessarily want want that one player being a defensive midfielder that just sits and defends so you kind of think the way papar and the way bent and ker uh play is more suitable to his system than necessarily Biser is but bmer would be far better being allowed to just go up and plow forward and just to answer that comment about perhaps are running I didn't mean run side side I mean you know run run across the Midfield but any anywhere he needs to go that's you know I'm not saying he can only go sidewards SAR is not a DM as well yeah I mean in that position the way we play it is one or the other you play basuma or um s there because s just has not got the physical capability to be a DM either he he'd get knocked all over the place but he likes to get forward as well and he does like to he does like to run the show when he can for me it's if we want just the number six to sit there basically and come back and cover the back two when they're lonely on their own Hy Berg's the man for that position whether he do good or not is a different story but he is the man out and out Anchor Man is where he does play good but then for his country he does like getting forward as well but if we want the one who can do a bit of everything then it's got to be Benton Co who comes back that's yeah that's how I see that one just obviously show up what Newcastle team gonna show up which should make it for a very interesting game but for me the pivotal point of this team and how we do today is Spurs Tack and line and I'll tell you for what so newcastle's back line obviously got injuries they've got not got the right people in the right places I think what you need to do this whole keeping the ball possession based football fantastic it's it's good obviously to control the game but what we have to do is create more problems for that back line than we have in for others in recent times what I think Spurs needs to do more yes we play inverted fullbacks that's fine you'll go in but with a back client who setting their ways they have invert inverted fullbacks coming and taking the area inside the pitch they also have Wingers coming ins side so it's all condensed it's all like nice and easy in front of them the um pinpoint accurate passes you need to be able to unlock a defense when it's that congested is ridiculous what I think you need to do is at times in this game rather than invert fullbacks just going into the middle Wingers drop it coming inside I think what you need to do is Wingers come in you have the overlapping fullbacks where you then get behind the defense where you then turn the defens away we've seen it in recent games getting in behind causes problem Johnson's got assist for balls around the back you've seen verer do it in most recent game early on in the season kouu was doing it por was doing it doi's done it I think Spurs need to have more of that about him today to have a very weak Newcastle back line more uncertain if it's all in front of them and this whole Ticky tacka pass pass pass doing nothing I think is a very comfortable day for Newcastle for the most point if you turn them the other way and get them going well I've got to keep an eye on the goal got been our position the cutback I've done it with my players are and having them all at see I think Spurs could if we get it right I think Spurs could run out comfortable winners but if we just go and do the same thing we've seen where it's all in front I think Newcastle will suffocate us and maybe have luck on the Counterattack so that is a crucial part our Spurs play today where I think we could either have a lot of Joy or we come unstuck um I'll open it up anyone can have a r if you think I'm don't think you don't think that's a necessity that having to keep the play stretched and have fullbacks overlapping or Wingers holding a width and getting him behind the thing is that they know we're g to come and attack so they you know it's not a case of you know it's it's like last season we we were more defensive so we were sat back and letting them come on to us they know we're not going to do that so it's it's naturally going to happen like that that we will attack so that gives them the the mind that we can't just go gung-ho against this team so you know I think it's it's naturally what you've said Is Right but it's GNA it's going to naturally happen because they are gonna they are going to know we're going to attack them and they know we can we can counter you know we can break with ferociousness that the only problem is after the time we break we then slow it up yeah well that's why other teams I mean I've seen people saying on quite a few other shows that um Posta cogu hasn't been found out and whatever don't make me laugh they sused him up after the 10 games yes the injury's done no favors but for the first 10 games people did not know how we was going to play agree with you that in the sense that they found out how to play that you know that break or that ball over the top but that's not going to change for us he's not going to change that no and the the only thing I think we probably that scares me it doesn't me I think you know we've we've got a goalkeeper that we trust for a CH you know for which we haven't had for a few seasons and no disrespect to lce because I think he was you know he's been probably our best goalkeeper in modern era um we've got the defense now that can get back the I think the only thing that I would like to see and I know it's probably an impossibility is another player whether it's a holding midfielder or another Defender with vaner ven speed you know if we could get another one of those that you've got more than one player getting back never gonna happen with that I but I think where you took where you're spot on with the fact of it doesn't worry me so much about the defense and playing such a high line and them what worries me is the amount of touches we've got to have and the way we slow it down when we attack if we attacked at speed all the time we we just obliterate most teams and we've seen that when when we've been one nil down or two nil down and then we've had a 15minute period where we'll come and score two or three goals because we do everything at PACE and then we slow down again you play an what is supposed to be an ball at PACE team still whether they've s you know sers out or not teams still cannot handle that game yeah but is this an ball that is it or is it the players fault or whatever because for me he's been here what nine months now and what they have all the training in the world because they only have one game a week and are you telling me that these players still haven't got it in their head how to play Angie style of play if that is Angie's style of play not to just tap it about up the front of the goal like Wenger used to and then walk it into the back of the net well this is it I mean I know that's the question that you know you look at it and think well to me what is you know when when we we hear everybody coming out saying that's the way he wanted to play it's always when we've done something at PACE yes once you've scored your goal and and you maybe two or three nil up then slow it down that's not a problem but the problem is we spend three quarters of the game just oh we get it up there up to Midfield or up to half you know up to their box and then we we just come back and fall and and you see we play faster in defense and take more chances in defense than we do up the other end of the pitch and that really gets on my nerves that we do a 50/50 chance in front of our own go goal except up front we'll only pass if there's like an 80 85% chance that the pass goes we take more chances in front of our own bloody net um one second guys Chang you've been listening to obviously what Dan and saon have been chatting about going back and forth and all that um what have you got to say on on the situation do you agree with either of them or do do you not or do you think Spurs need to take more shots obviously like stretch the play keep the width what what for you will be the the best part of the attacking from threee today well both Mr Daniel and Mr saon have made very good points uh themselves respectively with regards what we should do going forward and what we should not be doing uh in the back or in the midfield for me I just want to see us getting chances whether it's half chances whether it's a clean cut chances or even trying to walk the ball into the net it's all about creating the chances that wins that gets the goals that win the games what we saw against Nottingham Forest was a breath of fresh air players taking shots from range and that's how we got the second goal in the game from that uh Micky vanan uh shot from just outside or is just or is it just inside the Penalty Box yeah it was it was a very well taken goal if you to look at hyar himself when he came on for us in half at halim he had he had probably more shots on target from range this season alone in that one game alone that he did the entire season that actually tells you that the players have it in the locker to take this sort of a shots on from range and probably Nick a goal or two every other game the reason the the thing I kind wrap my head around is why big an would say limit the players or to restrict them from taking these shots uh from range I felt I previously felt that it was more of a sort of like not wanting to uh unnecessary neily give away possession or to just uh will nearly uh give the ball back to the opposition when we are in the ascendancy because we have seen our we have seen for ourselves at times where we could be in the ascendancy we could be in the lead but because we say uh we take these shots from Target and then it gives The Possession back to them and not only does it give possession back to them they then counter us because we play such a high line and if we don't have say a Mickey vanan at the back then that leaves us exposed which is why players for this were not all too keen on taking shots uh from range or uh at a half chance now with Mickey vaner van back with probably our best Midfield I'm not sure if I can say it's the best Midfield but on paper he shoot their best Midfield uh the likes of uh bensenor Madison and also bisa if that Midfield is solid and they Compact and the defense know what they're doing by all means go for it whether it's a Sony spectacular or another Mickey vanan Blockbuster I couldn't care less who is taking all these spot shots from range just get it on target create something even if it is a rebound of a defender or goalkeeper who knows we might have a Teo John teimo Verner a Brandon Johnson or even a sanin waiting to just mop up and uh tap it home from from uh you know from close range yeah creating those chances right now should be our priority yeah look look I I pretty much completely agree with all that I think um I wanted to go to some comments obviously before we we continue talking listen Hines doesn't agree with the angel being found out narrative I think this was a shot not a shot but obviously a rebuttle to Dany um you're the only Dan on the panel I always Dan I'm not gonna call you Danny anymore um every opponent knows how pep will play but pep wins anyway quality players plus time is Key I agree to point but also people have said for the longest time that the reason why like pep didn't have success at Man to do the job or certain teams come at you you or you play certain teams that are your cryptonite or literally they they find weaknesses in you you have to be able to adapt and tweak things it doesn't have to be a massive overhaul this what when you say change things or a plan B people instantly think you go oh we got to be ultra defensive they go for the complete opposite it doesn't have to be that um Dan you just wanted to quickly um an hasn't been found out then why do we concede the same goals every game if style has not been sused out then why does every nine out of 10 teams do the same thing every time for me that is a manager whose style has been found out because they know the weak spots and they take it he's been he's been sased every game without fail we literally concede one of the same goals without fail tell me when we have them I I agree with you Dan that I don't think it's necessarily that anv has been found out because because we play the same every game then it it's is
