FSU Football Running Back Lawrance Toafili Talks Fall Camp, Newcomers in the RB Room

you guys man it's some funny any more less excited when it's I guess it's like the last first day for you here State yes sir I mean I'm I'm always excited to put the PS on you know but it does hit a little different knowing it's the last ride so yeah I'm I'm definitely really excited Jaylen Lucas seems to be okay at playing football yes sir explosive explosive guy you know he's a human joystick for real so yall watch out man y watch out for Jak anything that he does that's going to help open things up you think for you or kaziah or the other guys I mean he just adds another skill set to the offense I mean you know he's a guy that is very dangerous in space he can run through the tackles and he can you know catch kicks and catch the ball in general good so yeah yeah he's definitely weapon about the running backs in general you see that each guy have a different element ofun back I mean I I love how versatile we are you know what I'm saying we got the big guys we got the the scat backs you know we we pretty much have everything we need to be a successful win so I'm I'm excited about what we're about to put on this play talk about deny definitely a weapon you know what I'm saying he's a young guy coming along really well you know he's learning soaking everything up but yeah he's one of those take the top off guys you know what I'm saying home run threat for sure you know I know coach chak always talks about we rock fries when it comes to you guys in the running back everyone's going to get their at bats but does it feel like this is your kind of time maybe yes sir no most definitely you know being a vet in the room you know I got to lead these guys the right way and the way that we're supposed to be you know what I'm saying get us in the right direction and keep pushing everybody I mean that's that's that's my goal for sure so I feel like I'm in that role you know what I mean and everybody's definitely going to be incorporated but I'm definitely going to push them boys man yes sir what are some things that you focused on for yourself training wise workwise this this offseason I mean I'm trying to be able to be as smart as possible you know I know the whole offense now now I'm trying to learn defensive looks and you know what I'm saying obviously s pass blocking running through the the tackles everything I'm trying to clean all that up you know what I mean so I I really would say My overall just being smarter honestly the knowledge how do you go about learning different defensive such as film study your what does that look like yeah most definitely film study and you know I got we got some great defensive guys that really can break it down to me you know what I mean so that's that's I feel like that's the biggest thing and that has been the biggest help for me who are some guys who helped you out AZ we got we got Edwin we got we got to whole we got to I really be talking to all them guys you know even if I do a certain rep I'll go over there and be like okay what you see you know the linebackers DJ Lundy yeah we we we definitely talk a lot it seems like you kept on most of the weight you added before spr how how has that changed you how they added weight kind of transformed you I mean it's always good to be bigger you know what I mean messing with these big guys so yeah I mean I feel great you know I'm excited I'm excited to put this on display for you guys and see so I'm excited about it man that's all I really can say what did it mean to you to be the one that break oh that I'm very I honor that I'm grateful for that situation you know what I'm saying it's big to me know it's my last time and they see all the work that I've been putting in and keeping my head down and going so I'm grateful for it and I I I forever appreciate you guys that extra mass do you feel like that might be able to help a good bit with an extended workload potentially yes sir most definitely you know I mean we're all going to have those situations where we're going to be in the game Whoever has the hot hands probably going to touch the ball more exactly so you know it's definitely going to play a role you know what I mean it's going to make me feel run more confident and things like that but I definitely feel like we still going to have that you know how Florida State you know how we roll it back so yeah we going we going to be good though you guys lost a lot of Talent last year you brought a lot of new guys uh they've played a lot of football is there still that sort of sense of confidence in the locker room that you might have felt last year right now oh yeah most definitely I feel like the biggest thing is with this team is the the family bond we're very close-knit team and it happened in a very short period of time like we're just around each other a lot you know we we really click very well and I feel like that's that's been the biggest thing that I've been excited about cuz you know when when you play for somebody that you love you just play harder so I feel like that's going to give us that extra Edge is RO pretty vocal oh yeah most definitely yeah yeah roale he's probably more vocal than me honestly you know what I'm saying he's one of them guys that's definitely going to touch you talk to you you know what I mean let you know if you're doing something wrong and I I love that about him you know he's making me grow in that area as well even that he only been here for several months like that confident I guess what does that say about about him as a person I mean you know he's he's a confident guy you know what I'm saying he's ready to go ready to roll and he's ready to work he knows how to work and how to go about it so I definitely appreciate about him man you know what I'm saying learning and growing growing with them there's unlimited coachings coaching staffs now does Yak have somebody that's helping you guys out now in the running back room that might not have been around it's pretty it's pretty much been the same guys we got uh Alex Alex assom back there so he he's a big help too you know what I'm saying like definitely with the backs you know if we have any questions or anything like him and Yak are on the same page so he definitely could give us any type of knowledge that we need and answer any questions I'm good okay
