diploma is a government document when you get married that's a government document when you get divorced that's a government document and when you die your de certificate is a government document so government literally is enrolled in our lives from beginning to end we have to understand we have to maximize our capacity and that's one of the reasons why we do not have a lot in terms of leadership because we're voting far too low when it comes to our numbers and so when he's talking about August 27th understand we vote at our capacity then you have a you send a greater chance of winning same office right here in Tulsa Oklahoma and I need you to do it I need you on August 27th and what it's not just about making that history but it's the change that we will make and if the best days of Greenwoods are Greenwood district is ahead I guarantee you it won't happen unless we have the leader that has this community at heart in the mayor's office I will be that leader I thank you so much I need you I need you to knock doors for me I need you to invest in the campaign but more than anything I need you to make sure your voice is heard on August 27th and go vote and we'll get it done I just said I sh years and every single way since ier has come out bwn tossa and there has been a teny for many to want to keep Tulsa the say and uh it's so fun to see vision and future and consider the city as a whole and not just a thir and that's why it's your time I'm going to end homelessness as we know it I'm going to improve student outcome so our Workforce is strong I'm going to make this the safest big city in the country I'm going to make sure the economic development community in this city has something to sell for every business looking for a home no matter where in the country they Monroe Nichols my dad was a police officer uh not every call uh requires law enforcement or should I think police officers would agree with that and I think the most important thing that we can do in don't want to vote for a woman who will continue to prioritize building their wealth over ensuring that everyone has enough so no matter how good we feel tonight or tomorrow or the next day this is going to be an uphill battle so folks we cannot be our own worst enemies no see cuz the minute something goes wrong the minute a lie takes hold folks we cannot start ringing our hands we cannot get a Goldilocks complex about whether everything is just right and we cannot indulge our anxieties about whether this country will elect someone like kamla instead of doing everything we can to get someone like kamla elected kamla and Tim they have lived amazing lives and I I am confident that they will lead with compassion inclusion and Grace but they are still only human they are not perfect and like all of us they will make mistakes but luckily y'all this is not just on them n uh-uh this is up to us all of us to be the solution that we seek it's up to all of us to be the anecdote to the darkness and division look I don't don't care how you identify politically whether you're Democrat Republican independent or none of the above this is our time to stand up for what we know in our hearts is of the entire world and reminded us of our responsibility to black people and black communities especially in Tulsa so you owe this to yourselves to make sure you get out and vote on Tuesday and make it happen Okay so I have a real important perspective about this it's always been Batman and the reason why cuz Batman had no superpowers when I was younger I was like I can legitimately be Batman I can't be Superman can't be Superman I can't be Spider-Man but Batman got a superpower I need little Taekwondo about three four5 billion I can do that b hello Tulsa my name is Kathy Taylor and for four years I had the honor of serving as your mayor together we brought new opport opportunities to our city and we laid the groundwork for Progress that has propelled Tulsa into the national Spotlight during my time in office we completed Vision 2025 projects we improved our City's infrastructure we brought energy into downtown and we protected our economy during the national economic crisis and we proved our resilience in the face of adversity time and time again but we were able to do all of those things because you showed up on Election Day in record numbers to make your voices heard at the polls now it's time to do it again and elect Monroe Nichols as our next mayor now since day one of this campaign I have been squarely in Monroe's corner and it's not just because we have similar policy beliefs or we are of the same political party it's because I know Monroe I've seen him work to make this city better every single day and I believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that with Monroe Nichols in office tuls best days are ahead of us look let's face it this is a difficult time for our state we have people in elected office who are trying to move us backwards sometimes I know for me it can feel hopeless it can feel easier just to look away put your head down and ignore what's happening but we can't do that we can't turn away now not when our public schools are under attack not when our fellow tulson are going hungry homeless and have no access to health care not when our neighbors face hateful rhetoric and policies from their elected leaders because of who they are who they love where they were born or what they believe we can't turn away we have to show up and we have to elect a leader like Monroe Nichols who also shows up every day and fights for each and every one of us so tonight I need you to make a plan to vote you can vote early tomorrow Thursday for 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Tulsa County election board 555 North Denver you can vote Friday 8:00 a.m. to City sitting next to school leaders to understand what's working invest in high impact strategies and hold ourselves accountable for better outcomes I will stand alongside our district leaders against outside threats to local control of our schools every day as mayor I'll be working to build a city where young people can Thrive from the day they're born to the day they start their career I'm state representative Monroe Nichols running to be your next mayor I was raised by my family to believe in the power of public service and that when we work together we can make a big impact that's why I believe we can tackle the biggest issues facing Tulsa together join me in creating a safer thriving City where everyone has access to good paying jobs quality schools and a bright future Let's Build a Better Tulsa together for more information go go to Monro for.com and let's make history on August 27th paid for and authorized by Monro foror 2024 I'm state representative Monroe Nichols candidate for Tulsa mayor it is estimated that well over 2,000 folks sleep under bridges on our streets and in alleys as your mayor I will hold myself accountable and be front and center in an allout effort to end this crisis in our city and I have a strategy to end homelessness as we know it by 2030 my road map is a datadriven approach to make make homelessness rare brief and non- reoccurring this plan will ensure that we meet the acute physical mental health and substance abuse treatment needs of those experiencing homelessness and get them off the street as your mayor it is my commitment that we will not hand this challenge over to the next Generation to solve I'm state representative Monroe Nichols and I'm running to be Tulsa's next mayor Unity requires Earnest commitment Unity moves not simply at the speed of agreement but at the speed of trust given the land we are all blessed to inhabit and share a strong Tulsa is only possible with a solemn acknowledgement of tribal sovereignty if I'm elected our tribal Nations will have no better friend Ally and partner and elected office than Tulsa's mayor Monroe Nichols my dad was a police officer uh not every call uh requires law enforcement or should I think police officers would agree with that and I think the most important thing that we can do in this community is to make sure that when people call for help they get the help that they need not simply the help that we feel like sending them and I think that's critical for us to do if you elect me we're going to go and win the next decade and put Tulsa on the Move thank you all so much for being here tonight thank you very [Music] much hello Tulsa it's time to get out and vote we have an opportunity to elect a candidate can make a difference Monroe Nichols a representative please vote early get your vote in make your plan and vote nich for mayor okay so I have a real important perspective about this it's always been Batman and the reason why cuz Batman had no superpowers when I was younger I was like I can legitimately be Batman so I can't be Superman can't be Superman I can't be Spider-Man but Batman got a superpower I need little Taekwondo about3 four5 billion I can do Batman hello Tulsa my name is Kathy Taylor and for four years I had the honor of serving as your mayor together we brought new opportunities to our city and we laid the groundwork for Progress that has propelled Tulsa into the national Spotlight during my time in office we completed Vision 2025 projects we improved our City's infrastructure we brought energy into downtown and we protected our economy during the national economic crisis and we proved our resilience in the face of adversity time and time again but we were able to do all of those things because you showed up on Election Day in record numbers to make your voices heard at the polls now it's time to do it again and elect Monroe Nichols as our next mayor now since day one of this campaign I have been squarely in Monroe's corner and it's not just because we have similar policy beliefs or we are of the same political party it's because I know Monroe I've seen him work to make this city better every single day and I believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that with Monroe Nichols and office Tulsa's best days are ahead of us look let's face it this is a difficult time for our state we have people in elected office who are trying to move us backwards sometimes I know for me it can feel hopeless you can feel easier just to look away put your head down and ignore what's happening but we can't do that we can't turn away now not when our public schools are under attack not when our fellow tulson are going hungry homeless and have no access to health care not when our neighbors face hateful rhetoric and policies from their elected leaders because of who they are who they love where they were born or what they believe we can't turn away we have to show up and we have to elect a leader like Monroe Nichols who also shows up every day and fights for each and every one of us so tonight I need you to make a plan to vote you can vote early tomorrow Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Tulsa County election board 555 North Denver you can vote Friday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tulsa County election board you can vote Saturday Saturday at the Tulsa County election board from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or you can show up on Election Day Tuesday August 27th from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at your local polling Precinct you can go to okay voter portal. elections. us to find your polling place and view a sample ballot then put time on your calendar now to go vote and vote for the only candidate that has a plan to end homelessness vote for the only candidate with a plan to improve education vote for the only candidate for mayor with a proven track record of standing up and fighting for each and every one of us Tulsa it's time to elect Monroe Nicholls for mayor let's go make history together as we Embrace this renewed sense of hope let us not forget the despair we have felt let us not forget what we are up against yes kamla and Tim are doing great now we're loving it they're packing Arenas across the country folks are energized we are feeling good but remember there are still so many people who are desperate for a different outcome who are ready to question and criticize every move kamla makes who are eager to spread those lies who don't want to vote for a woman who will continue to prioritize building their wealth over ensuring that everyone has enough so no matter how good we feel tonight or tomorrow or the next day this is going to be an uphill battle so folks we cannot be our own worst enemies no see cuz the minute something goes wrong the minute a lie takes hold folks we cannot start ringing our hands we cannot get a Goldilocks complex about whether everything is just right and we cannot indulge our anxieties about whether this country will elect someone like kamla instead of doing everything we can to get someone like kamla elected kamla and Tim they have lived amazing lives and I I am confident that they will lead with compassion inclusion and Grace but they are still only human they are not perfect and like all of us they will make mistakes but luckily y'all this is not just on them nah uh-uh this is up to us all of us to be the solution that we seek it's up to all of us to be the anecdote to the darkness and division look I don't care how you identify politically whether you're Democrat Republican independent or none of the above this is our time to stand up for what we know in our hearts is right to stand up not just for our basic freedoms but for decency and Humanity for basic respect dignity and empathy for the values at the very Foundation of this democracy it's up to us to remember what kamla's mother told her don't just sit around and complain do something so if hey family it's Bry Pac M Cunningham your sister in the struggle listen up Tulsa y'all got to vote this Tuesday this is the time to finish what you started you have raised the consciousness of the entire world and reminded us of our responsibility to black people and black communities especially in Tulsa so you owe this to yourselves make sure you get out and vote on to and if black folks in Tulsa vote at 70% of Your Capacity you sweep elections it's a numbers game but it can't be 40 and 45 folk can't complain about what we're not getting and then not show up do also understand voting data is public you can literally go look at the data and go down to the precinct to know how many people voted in this neighborhood and so the votes are out there and so there's not a single piece people love talking about we got to do for self and not government understand when you are born the birth certificate is a government document a high school diploma is a government document when you get married that's a government document when you get divorced that's a government document and when you die your death certificate is a government document so government literally is enrolled in our lives from beginning to end we have to understand we have to maximize our capacity and that's one of the reasons why we do not have a lot in terms of leadership because we're voting far too low when it comes to our numbers and so when he's talking about August 27th understand we vote in our capacity then you have a you send a greater chance of winning same thing in state races same thing uh in city council races uh and so every person who's here if you take it upon yourself to say I am personally going to contact 10 people in my circle church members sorority fraternity it doesn't matter the first question you're going to ask them are you registered second question is after that is if you are if you're not we're going to get you registered if you are then we're going to get you to the pose I'm telling y'all it's no lie when we vote our numbers we win those folks who built Greenwood made history that's right that's right they made history they did something that had never been done before something that's never been done since and on August 27th we all here today can make history once again by sending the first black man to the mayor's office right here in Tulsa Oklahoma and I need you to do it I need you on August 27th and what it's not just about making that history but it's the change that we will make and if the best days of Greenwood are Greenwood district is ahead I guarantee you it won't happen unless we have the leader that has this community at heart in the mayor's office I will be that leader I thank you so much I need you I need you to knock doors for me I need you to invest in the campaign but more than anything I need you to make sure your voice is heard on August 27th and go vote and we'll get it done I just said call I sh where is my years and every single name since I has come out been and there has been a teny for many to want to cheat Tulsa the say and uh it's so fun to see vision and future and consider the city as a whole and not just a thir and that's why it's your time I'm going to end homelessness as we know it I'm going to improve student outcome so our Workforce is strong I going to make this the safest big city in the country I'm going to make sure the economic development community in this city has something to sell for every business looking for a home no matter where in the country they are today thank you very much representative [Applause] [Music] [Music] your hand up up be [Music]
