PHILLIES WIN THE SERIES IN KANSAS CITY?! J.T. REALMUTO 7 RBIS!! GARRETT STUBBS CYCLE WATCH?!

e [Music] well what do you know the Phillies ended up winning the series they ended up winning the final two games against Kansas City after Friday where we pretty much convinced ourselves that they were probably going to get swept in the final two games just you know basing it off of the first game and Taiwan weler on the mound and just the overall Vibes and the overall tone with the way that the offense was swinging then they just completely exploded in the final two games JT Ruto last night seven RBI two home runs dudes on fire and today Garrett stubs on cycle watch he had two chances to uh complete the cycle with a Sol with a a home run and sadly he just was not able to come up with that and of course in the final chance that he has against a position player on the mound gets hit by a I just had to sit there and go boo come on come on why not let stubbsy get a chance for a cycle why not freaking hitting him with a pitch honestly stubs probably should have swung and Miss at it just to have another chance you know what I'm saying but uh yeah ended up being a good series win and I'll give him credit where credit is do they deserve that r at least so what's going on everybody welcome back into TTP sports like I said the Phillies ended up winning the final two games here against the Kansas City Royals they scored 11 runs basically in the last two games 22 runs combined offense absolutely exploded and they got some very good starting pitching as well in these two games Suarez in last night's game after you know missing so much time with you know his low his back injury getting some rest there he comes in and he looked really sharp he looked really well only went five innings in the game which was expected he wasn't going to go deep whatsoever but he still put you in a position to win the game and the offense basically exploded from there and for Allard today you can't ask much more than what Allard did he got into some trouble and he found a way to get out of trouble allowed a couple of solo shots he went five innings only allowed what was it two ear runs two earn runs I believe if I'm not mistaken two ear runs three earn runs if I'm not mistaken yeah two ear runs he did very well very well more than you can ask from Allard in that situation when you know it's basically going to be a bullpen type game when you know it's a it's a win that you need in the series finale to try to win this series Allard went out there with a purpose and he put you in a position to win the ball game and the offense did its job did its job like it was supposed to what do you know you hit the ball you hit the ball well and you score runs you help your pitching out you're probably going to win some ball games and that's exactly what happened here in these final 2 so a lot to get into here so at least we could finally talk about a series win so even though I don't say finally it's like what is this like two Series wins in the past three series or something like that so I guess you could say there's something there but right now like I said they deserve credit they definitely do 100% do for the way they played in these final two games 100% I'm not going to deny it I'm not going to be that person that says oh they don't deserve credit whatsoever uh blah blah blah blah blah they went up against the bad team no they went up against they pretty good Kansas City Royals team very young Kansas City Royals team they got some very good pitching there and they were able to hit that pitching so give them credit words deserved at the end of the day but the one thing that we need is can you finally build some momentum that is the issue that is the key right there because you can't win these final two games and then just come back home come back to Citizens Bank Park in two bigger series two probably even more difficult series upcoming here one that's right around the corner with the Houston Astros the next three days that's going to be tough I can't have the team just completely fall flat on their face after these two good wins and then you have that four game series at the at the weekend with the Atlanta Braves I need to see you build momentum because if you just completely fall F flat on your face again these two wins mean nothing these two wins mean absolutely nothing you did get get some breaks with the Braves because you won last night with with the Braves winning so nothing really happened there with the standings and then you won today with the Braves losing the final game against the Nationals so your lead went back to six games basically where it started right when this Kansas City series started so there was no ground gain no ground loss basically there just goes right back to square one so like I said you got to get build momentum you got to find a way just to keep this ride going keep and there were some guys in the lineup that had some pretty good days the past couple of days Bryson St yesterday he's had a few hits in the past couple of games he went four for four last night so that's really good Brandon Marsh has had a couple of nice swings Kyle schwarber knocking in some runs getting some extra base hits Trey Turner he had a couple of hits yesterday a couple of RB today you know gr gr you know double play machine I need more from Trey Turner you know I would like to see what he did against the Nationals where that version of Trey Turner comes back I can't have this guy just constantly rolling over and groundling in the double Blaze consistently it's good that JT Ruto looks like he's finding his stride especially with the extra base hits and especially with the power so that is something that is very crucial for this offense and you know obviously going into this game you know Rob Thompson was not going to be well today's game specifically topper was not going to be playing JT Ruto two games in a row after a night game into a day game that just wasn't going to happen so for Garrett stubs to do what Garett stubs did no one really expected him to be on cycle watch to do get the triple you know granted with the Royals defense kind of falling apart on itself but he still got a triple he got the nice bun single to move some Runners over then he gets another little RBI knock in there as well so he did his job he definitely did when no one really expected him to and hey Kudos the catchers did their job in these two games as well but like I said it all matter on consistency like I said JT getting hot matters it really does but I need more from Trey I need more from Bryce even though I still think Bryce is playing with some type of minor injury that's really nagging him and then Kyle schwarber getting some RBIs and some extra base hits I need more I need to see consistency I need to see momentum that's the most important thing there and there does seem to be some momentum with the bullpen because the past couple of series The Bull has actually been pretty sharp you know going back towards the brave series I think they said in like their past so many games they have like a sub2 ER so baby steps it's something to Monitor and we'll see how that carries through we'll definitely see that most important thing right now is the offense finding a way just to carry momentum over series after series after series and I'm not going to go to a full extent they're back I'm not saying that whatsoever but like I said they deserve credit for how they performed in these final two games and the most important thing is they got to build that consistency they got to build that confidence they got to go back home in Philadelphia against the team that basically whooped yourass in the World Series a couple of years ago for I it's not the first time you're seeing them since I think you saw them last year and you won a series against them but first time they're coming to Philadelphia after you lost the World Series against them and yeah the ballpark's going to be jumping the fans are going to be Rowdy as obviously against the Houston Astros it's a series where you got to show something you got to show something especially after these last two games and managing to get the series win so that's crucial and I need to see what this team does before I do any type of reactant you know what I mean because like I said if you just come back home drop a dud in a series these last two games mean nothing they just mean nothing so take it for what it's worth take it for what it's worth but like I said they deserve credit after this series they definitely do so I'm not going to be that guy that says they don't deserve any type of credit so they scored 11 runs in the final two games both each so let's look at these final two games actually so let's go to Saturday's game with uh Ranger Suarez on the mound so Ranger Suarez in total he went five innings only allowed four hits one run one walk and six strikeouts on 72 pitches so that was really good stuff there from Rangers Suarez and just you know looking at the game in General the Run scoring didn't really start until the top of the third inning Kyle schwarber he had a one- out double and Trey Turner managed to drive him home with an RBI hit and then basically goes to the top of the fifth inning Trey Turner reaches in on an infield single then Bryce Harper doubles him home to make it a two nothing lead bottom of the fifth though Ranger allows a couple of base runners they score a run he limits the damage it's a two to one game then the Phillies offense starts to do some life they start to show some life Nick C brys and St they lead off the top of the sixth with singles and then JT Ruto hits the three-run shot to add some more cushion it becomes a 5-1 Philly lead couple of one two three Innings by the bullpen they score run on the bottom of the seventh against Ruiz on a sacrifice fly becomes a 5-2 game and then in the top of the eighth inning the Phillies break the game open basically C with a leadoff single Bryson stop doubles then JT hits a three-run shot again made it 8 to2 go to the bullpen Marsh doubles off of a lefty har Hayes doubles scores a run Trey Turner RBI single makes it 10 to2 so there you go then top of the ninth inning JT gets another RBI ground out made it 11 to2 and then the bullpen did their job from n if we look at last night's game just in terms of the offense in general Philly had 18 hits in total uh Kyle schwarber he went two for five with a run scored Trey Turner he went three for five with two RBI and a run scored Bryce Harper one for five with an RBI and two strikeout Alec bone was basically the only guy not to do anything in the lineup last night he went 0 for five and there was a picture showing him in the Dugout with of Harper like wrapped around his shoulder I guess just trying to you know just calm him down a little bit because I'm sure bom last night was you know bom has had a couple of rough games you know since the all bake streak ended he also had a major brain fart in his afternoon's game where he should have doubled up Salvador Perez from a play at third to first but he forgot how many outs there were and he thought I guess there were three outs when there were no outs said he could have got a done double play and it was a brain for him that's something that can't happen but uh I think Bryce was just trying to be the leader there and just come for a young player so good there on Bryce Nick castanos goes two for four with two runs scored Weston Wilson then came into the game eventually he got a hit Bryson stopped he went four for four which is very important if Bryson stopped Brandon Marsh those guys hit you know you tend to do some damage there for the top of the order uh JG Ruto he went three for five with seven RBI and two3 three run shots beautiful stuff there by JT uh Marsh he went one for five Hayes he went one for four with an RBI and the Phillies in total they went five for 13 with runners in scoring position they left six Runners on base so yesterday it was a very good game and then we go to today's game Allard on the mound five innings eight hits allow two ear runs uh no walks five hit five strikeouts on 81 pitches the two runs that he did allow were uh solo shots there so just good stuff by Allard overall like I said in a game where you needed the win when you knew it was going to be a bullpen game to start D comes in and he pitches with a purpose and he puts you in a position to succeed nothing more than you can ask right there uh philes did some base runners there in the top of the first inning Alec B grounded out into a inning in double play so that's where the frustration really starts there with bom a couple of base runners in the bottom of the first that's when Alec bom has his brain fart on the forced out of Third Base but Allard managed to get out of that situation he had his players back uh Phillies they get on the board thirst in the top of the third inning stubs with that lead off triple schwarber then doubles makes it a one- nothing game then Alec bow gets an RBI hit to score Kyle schwarber makes it a two nothing ball game but then Bobby WT Jr responds in the bottom of the third he goes deep solo shot to one game Phillies they add another run on the top of the fourth inning Bryson stot reaches in on an infield single Brandon Marsh then walks Johan roas reaches on an infield single but then Bryson stot brain fart moment uh he got picked off at second base by the catcher so uh caught him lacking there but then roas reached it on an infield single stubs as well so had bases loaded with Kyle schwarber grounds into a force out right to uh Salvador Perez that does score a run becomes a three to one ball game but then Trey Turner grounds out and no more runs were scored after a leadoff double in the bottom of the fourth by Melendez Allard gets the next three guys out in a row no damage there top of the fifth Phillies go down one two three bottom of the fifth Garcia leads off with a home run but then Allard gets out of that after a pass quintino one out double no other damage allowed only two runs on the board there for the Royals top of the sixth uh Brandon Marsh lead uh one out single roas infield single Garrett stubs doubles which scores Brandon Marsh makes it a 4-2 ball game then Kyle schwarber gets a single which scores two more runs thanks to a Fielding error makes it a six to2 ball game bottom six Ruiz comes out on the mound belendez the lead a solo shot but then he basically gets out of that unscathed besides the solo shot top seven the Phillies had a couple of base runners they did not score in that situation bone walked stat walked Marsh walked and then Rous grounded out into end the inning basically then top of the e that's when the uh the Phillies basically broke the game open once again stubs with a lead off single Kyle schwarber gets hit by a pitch Bryce Harper doubles which scores stubs and moves schwarber over to Third Base becomes a 7even to three game Alec bow with an RBI hit scores two runs becomes nine to3 and the Nick cosos joins it on the action gets a two-run shot which makes it 11 to3 and then everyone questions who died basically deep shot the left field made an 11 to3 ball game from ganos and then the bullpen basically did their job from there Alvarado had gave us a scale thought he was injured but he was complaining about the I of the pitch pitchers mound so they fixed that after a lead off double and he retired the next three guys in a row and then basically that was it Garrett stubs had a chance for the cycle in the top of the ninth inning against a position player and the position player hit him with a pitch so I was pissed off in that aspect because I wanted to see Garrett stubs swing for the fences against a position player it was funny too in his abat in the top of the eighth inning he had a couple of deep fly balls that went foul so uh sadly he uh Miss his opportunity there because that would have been very hilarious if Garrett stubs hit a cycle it would have been very hilarious so if we look at the lineup for today's game Kyle schwarber he goes two for five with three RBI Trey Turner goes one for five Harper goes one for forward an RBI bom goes two for four with three RBI so good there for bom uh nicko's one for five with a two-run shot Bryson St one for four with a walk Brandon Marsh had two hits on the day he also walked twice so a good day there for marshy Rous goes two for five and Garrett stubs goes four for four with a home run shy of the cycle runners in scoring position Phillies goes 7even for 14 they left nine Runners on base that's just how many chances that they had in this game pitching wise the rest of the way Ruiz he gave up that one run in the sixth inning on eight pitches Matt Strom had himself a very nice inning actually Bobby W Jr almost homered off of Matt Strom it took a really weird you thought it was foul like right off the bat but then the ball like curved in a weird Direction down the right field line it was still foul but it was like insanely closer than it should have been just because of the way the wind blew the ball so that was a weird situation but he got out of that seventh in unscathed Alvarado he struck out to AOW of double in the eighth inning of work and then EST devz one two three inning in the top of the ninth and those are your pitching stats right there so hey like I said all that matters is you got the series win I give him credit where credit is due and that's the most important thing at the end of the day most important thing there but we still uh the one thing that is on everyone's mind is uh is tywan Walker making his next start from Rob Thompson we talked about the other day Rob Thompson really hasn't discussed that yet and I think something came out today that he does not know if uh here we go this is from Tim Kelly here Phillies have not made a decision on whether Taiwan Walker will make his next start or not according the Rob Thompson this was before this afternoon's game and there was something too that I heard from in side that um they're trying to make a decision with Walker that either they're trying to make him accept a minor league assignment and if Taiwan Walker does not accept that they might release him that's what I've heard at least so either he accepts the minor league assignment or he might be gone so basically we got to we got to wait basically we got to wait to see what happens there in the Taiwan Walker front but this point I'd rather have Allard out there I'd rather have Tyler Phillips out there because 100% they're way better than what uh tyon Welker is at this point in his career it's it's just it's just fact it's just pure fact so gota wait and see because I think Taiwan Walker's next scheduled outing is Thursday if I'm not mistaken like if he were to still pitch and the and the rotation goes as scheduled it would be on Thursday in that first game against Atlanta so yeah I would not like to see that whatsoever so after this series win here in Kansas City Phillies are 76 and 54 22 games above 500 and they're six games above the Atlanta Braves they're eight games above the New York Mets and in terms of I guess the national league in general they have the second best record in the National League they are a half game up on the Milwaukee Brewers and they're a game behind the um Dodgers for the best record in the National League and for the Milwaukee Brewers right now they're losing to the Oakland Athletics for the two in the top of the fifth and I do believe the Atlanta Braves are playing Milwaukee next so we'll see where that goes so it would kind of be a lose lose situation in that series but uh I would prefer Milwaukee winning those games just because so you can get some more separation in the division personally but you also have to take care of your own business against the against the Houston Astros so basically can't ask for too much there in my honest opinion but uh yeah I don't think there's really any much need to uh look for anything post game here it's just hoping that uh you can find some momentum you can find some consistency with the bats here and hopefully they just bring that home to Citizens Bank Park and look to get some Revenge at home against the Houston Astros even though technically they did that last year in the series in Houston it would be nice nicer to do it at home personally in my honest opinion so yeah it's basically it on that standpoint it's also nice to have the day off from recapping yesterday of course you know yesterday when I don't do the recap that's when they score 11 runs but thankfully they uh had some and left in the tank for today as well to get a series win so thankfully they did do that to where I don't have to be depressed on the mic thankfully that was the case oh God but still like I said if you fall flat on your face against the Houston Astros these two wins mean nothing just fact just fact only stating it here so we do have a text message here on the anytime hotline no calls it's a text from Jonathan and he says imagine if Walker was an actually decent pitcher this would have been a sweep and who stub and who stubs going four for four is the absolute last thing I expected the great series offensively all around yeah definitely uh I would definitely hold up on possibly being sweet because yeah you could have an argument there because Walker did blow up in that oneing allowing like what five runs or something like that so yeah there could have been an argument towards that not going to lie definitely could have been an argument towards that but at the end of the day baby steps you got a series win and that's the most important thing at the end of the day just is so let's see let's see uh so if we look at the schedule upcoming Astros this week and you have Aon NOA and Zach wheeler and Christopher Sanchez on the mound for this series so it's going to be Zack Wheeler tomorrow he is going up against ronell Blanco he is n and six with a 314 ER so his last outing he gave up 500 runs against the Boston Red Sox and only went three and two thirs innings so we'll see what happens there he tends to not go deep in the ball games from the look of his stats right here uh recently he hasn't gone deep in the ball games but there has been stages where he has gone deep so we'll see what happens there with Blanco and then on Tuesday it's arinola going up against Justin Verlander Verlander 3 and three with a 392 erra you you know what to expect from Justin berlander at this point he's been in the leag for who knows how long and then you're GNA have Christopher Sanchez going up against Spencer arti on Wednesday he's 6 and 11 with a 494 ER so we'll see and then for the brave series as scheduled right now if every like I said the starting rotation goes according to his planned tywan Walker pitches on Thursday against Charlie Morton Friday is Ranger Suarez against Ronaldo Lopez Saturday Zack wheer against Max freed and then Sunday is nola nola against schwellenbach so got to find a way to win both of these series here got to find a way got to win a series against Houston got to win a series against Atlanta and also hope Atlanta loses a series to Milwaukee hopefully that could be the case too but they do have Chris hail on the mound in that series most likely the series finale well let me see what that series is against Atlanta and the Brewers let's see their pitching matchups see what it's like no okay it's not the Brewers it's the twins okay it's the twins so it's completely different and I did not expect that whatsoever so bring forward on my perspective I apologize so it's uh Max freed going up against Bailey obber he's 12 and5 at a 354 ra then it's schwellenbach going up against Woods Richardson he's three five and three with a 369 ra and then it's Chris S going up against David Festa he is two and five with a 52 so we'll see how have the twins been doing lately how have they been doing lately uh they've had they've had a okay so they lost a series of San Diego and so they won a series they just okay so they lost two Series in a row it looks like lost a series in San Diego when they just lost a series to the St Louis Cardinals so we'll see what happens we'll see we'll see all that matters is that the Phillies uh take care of their business I also saw that Michael Harris left today's game with an injury as well so I might as well see if there's any update on that too to see what happened with him Michael Harris was hit by a pitch on his hand and now has been pulled from the game Michael Harris has no fractured in his left hand he's dayto day for one of the few times this season it wasn't the worst case scen are for the Braves so they finally caught a break there in terms of injuries so uh that definitely would have sucked if Michael Harris missed a long turn with a broken hand so I guess for their sake thankfully that wasn't the case because like I said they they're just rled with injuries Jesus it's absolutely insane how many of their top players are like out longterm it's insane so yeah we'll see we'll see what happens here boys so we'll get to some of you guys here in the chat chat and then we'll uh we'll end it off today have a nice little rest of our Sunday here so we got Michael in here hampson was such a scumbag for what he did the stops Ranger looking sharp as he did is a great sign yeah definitely first series win against an Al contending team at home all or away all year definitely dual noted right there uh Colby aard did his job as the fifth starter he might be the guy for the fifth spot in the rotation coming up I'd rather have him in Taiwan Walker honestly now let's beat up on the Astros or the trashtros that this guy says as Michael says uh good win now let's keep it up exactly Tyler cus has been solid for a while now contact yeah C has been really good for a while actually so uh that's been like one of the lone bright spots in the lineup proper ball player Bobby wood absolutely machine yeah even though the Phillies besides today's game they really kept them intact surprisingly uh Austin I'm here but I'm late so I had to rewind to the beginning please let this production continue such that my sanity returns Hallelujah I'd give up Trey Turner in a heartbeat for Bobby Wood Jr minor league or hire a Mexican Hitman
