the final pairing of the Portland Classic on the tea at the par five fifth that is Alexa Pano Pano one shot back right now as it's leaking towards with her sister back at the fifth Alexa Pano her t- shot into the rough right on the does she have any shot here Jim y um just make sure that you're wide rotate in okay really important here getting final instructions from oh yeah she has a clear shot balls above her feet 192 to the front Andrea Le ball actually hit the curb of the sidewalk or the cart path I should say and is fine this one's going low and left towards the bunker that hits the rake so we've got a curb and a rake hit here at the par five break cuz it's really sitting up well in this rough the bunker shot would have been a 7 foot bunker shot but this makes this Chip Shot a lot easier plenty of grain to work with three time finalists in the Drive Chip and Putt but not much I mean maybe right here but wide and on top with missed a few drives to the left or but made a great save at one and that's kind of settled her down she's been pretty solid since we've seen some just beautiful chip shots from Alexa these last three days you see why she was a three-time finalist that Drive Chip and Putt why she was in the Netflix documentary the short game she has a beautiful short game she was seven years old now Pano who is a winner on tour has this for birdie Alexa Pano who has been putting lights out this week moves into a tie for the lead with Angel Yin so a 19-year-old American is at 19 under a 20 that you know the tempo is staying the same coming off the birdie at the fifth here is Pano on the T at six now in a tie for the lead visually a very opening in fighting Fairway to hit here she averages about 262 and it's about 255 past that Bucker and left it's 248 242 exactly good oh yeah and that is really good Jim there's no holding back in her swing I don't know why you would kids uh line uh half a pace or a pace right of the uh rough rough yeah that's what I had okay I get along with them they just have fired [Laughter] me Dad's not getting fired anytime soon but 115 the total if she like I said if she goes after the hole she's got to carry it all the way to the hole location so just ride up it's fine trying to draw it in that's got to get up that's a huge mistake from that distance wow that is an absolute surpris too it looks like they were so dialed in on the yardage he's got to carry it about 30 ft to get it to where the Green's flat everything goes away so anything's short will kick it forward they might have been accounting for adrenaline I mean I always felt like that always gave me a little bit like five extra yards but uh did not kick in on that shot uh that's about as good as she was going to do actually from there way to get it to run up all right Jim we saw Alexa Pano able to save her par at the First with a clutch putt now she and Andrea Lee have par putts coming up and this is the club that saved her she was 151st in Strokes G putting for the season this week through three days she had 25 putts total so 75 that's 25 a day that's pretty good yeah she had over a 100 ft of putts made in each of the first three rounds I don't know if I've ever heard of that well that can sometimes be misleading say you make a 40 footer that adds to it but you're right you get over 100 feet you're making some putts either way but this could have some left in it and you know it's one she has to pay attention to the speed see if this club will saver again it looked like she pulled it she went back to take a look to see about the read but she will drop one here at the sixth round you got to look at that hole being the pivotal moment now Pano coming off the bogey yeah I think for Justin Amanda for these two I mean you know the scores have been low all week There's No scoreboards until we get I think a couple more holes we'll see one at eight but you know you're over par or even par so you really have to get something going that's drawing back nicely see if that stays in the Fairway [Applause] she's got a great chance to get there her sister on now Pano with an iron going for this green and two yeah just a fire iron 170 front 180 total this is go time right now for both these players they got to get something started and this is a place to do it and that is leaking out to the right needs a kick left oh had a really nice kick are you kidding me that is left for Eagle so both players in the final pairing Andrea Lee Alexa Pano have Eagle putts coming up at the seventh now at the seventh Alex aano can join the group at 20 under with an eagle putt yeah just as that putt went in everybody here turned around and looked so this is about his makeuple P she could have 15 ft right to left she started it out on that right side oh just a little bit more Pace that would have taken the break perfectly that'll tap in for Birdie the 19-year-old Pano gets back to 19 under a good bounce back from her Bogey and know she wanted that eagle putt to go in but back to the eighth we go and Pano now on the T tied for excuse me one back of the lead she's got the wedge in her hand but that's not enough Club to get it back there well they under Club themselves before problem with this if you try to hit it hard you tend to pull it I think Dad wants the kn that's what I choose that's smart go a little bit farther back in the tea box give yourself an extra few feet to work with when you're going with a longer Club you could hear her say that she want to choke up a little bit on the now nine iron if you're choking it down you got to go ahead and take your full swing you don't want to try to swing and get ahead of it this is going left her short game will be tested again excuse me excuse me the leaders are at 20 under Alexa Pano one back at 19 all right Alexa Pano that ball came back off the rough so now it's okay really in the Fairway is it easier or more difficult where it is now Jim you think that break off too much well let's listen the left side of it all right you want it wide and you got to turn your Club in front brush I think because of the rough with this lofted glov she has to bump this it like just in front of it yeah with a a bump flight right yeah yeah of course okay yes make sure you complete it okay and you really I mean I would probably go with maybe a pitching wedge with this but she's going with some Lop that's fine that's her choice to little bump really really really really good you know I loved how they really talked that through now you can tell there a team that you're just discussing where they wanted to have that landing spot you know what club she was going to use uh you know on the same page too uh so she was very committed to that shot that was not as easy as she made that look uh with a little bit of rough kind of behind her that could grab the club she hit that very clean see if she can go to the whale one more time that was a wonderful Chip Shot she committed to that where she didn't quite stay committed to that t- shot you just see that right there dad move you're in my way well there's a lot of conversation and there's two ways of thinking I mean as a player I want to take responsibility and you know this is my choice and it's okay to talk it out but sometimes you get too much information but that's kind of how she plays and that's that's her way that's a confident putt right there that was an excellent up and down this Portland classic in the 52nd Edition Alexa Pano on the te and already te off she's beat her to the tea every time she's had the honor she just goes and I like that uh you know looks it takes a little more time little more deliberate if you want to call it that but uh Lee's ball I believe is Just sh the bunker in the ripe she'd rather have it probably in the bunker faway pinches in about 23 yards at about 255 this keeps driving rolling this going to be beautiful good job look at that bounce wow that just took off a little bit of a draw and just ran out action Justin cutcher alongside Amanda blumenherst here in the booth and this is Alexa Pano right now one shot back her second from the Fairway yeah we just saw some beautiful short game display from Alexa Pano and she almost dunks it from the Fairway wow that would have been a highlight for sure alongside Amanda blumenherst here in the booth Jim Gallagher Jr Gary Christian on the course and Jim Gallagher junor is with this final pairing of Alexa Pano and Andrea Lee I sure am and it's another beautiful day not much wind out here about in the 80s they can't ask for a better day but what a beautiful shot she hit in here nearly hold it as Amanda said but coming down this slope Andrea leaves in for par been a little tentative with her putts on the front nine both players not to the greatest starts but pan hanging in her this is the club that's really been you know kind of the Difference Maker her weapon 151st in Strokes game putting coming into the Season 75 total putts first three days and it's been working pretty well today too sometimes the hole can just look a lot bigger when you're making putts like Alexa is these last four rounds it just seems to be making everything has time here in the Pacific Northwest and Alexa Pano will te it up at the 10th making the turn looking for her second career win and she's got the distance to get there and two whole location on that front right portion very getable Fairways is the most important thing obviously coming off that nice birdie and you know if you're going to win on Sunday you got to go out and get it players are shooting some low numbers we had 11 players within three shots and it's a bunch up leaderboard but if you want to win it's got to do it on this back nine and this is a par five where she can take advantage of her length it's going up that left side that might miss the Fairway I took a vicious kick to the left at columia Edgewater well Jim we saw the t-shot an errant one for p right you let it go well she's got 30 to the Penalty area to the right she's got to carry it about 70 Ys to get to the Fairway that's not a great lie if she tries to get too aggressive the Fairway does kick back towards the water if she tries to hit a low hook and get it up there further which I don't like I like just keep it short of the the water and just play it from there that's going to need to get down oh just what you said you know what for word of advice for anyone at home when you're going to lay up just lay up just make sure that you do not get yourself in trouble like even if you have a longer Club in just lay up make sure that it's going to be safe I I didn't have well Alexa Pano had to take a drop and this is her hitting her fourth at the 10th yeah 101 yards it's a good you know view coming in there but it was a terrible layup this is a decent looking shot though could make up for it I based on how she's putting right now that is definitely in her go Zone Pano is trying to save a par here at the par five her dad looking over it with her let's take a look at some insights by KPMG you see what a difference this week is versus what Pano has done this season on the LPGA Tour her putting has been absurd look at that final note 100 ft of putts made per round H it's it's remarkable too how different from her season and Jim mentioned it earlier she was 151st in Strokes game putting on the LPGA Tour so weakest part of her game and she's had 23 putts in round two 23 putts in round three and is I mean just incredible around the greens well you don't often get to right or wrong but if she could make this one they would kind of write the poor decision poor execution on the second shot is for par oh she gave that a chance but wow that has quite a bit of meat left on the [Music] bone back one to 10 Alexa Pano now trying to save aogi yeah I didn't realize it went by as far as it did but it sure did see if she could settle herself down this is where you going to get some experience slow your mind down now mistake after mistake and On a par five as well it just hurts just a little bit more but I mentioned at the 11th second for panel trying to bounce back after that big hiccup at the par 510th yeah I'm always judging a player by how they can bounce back after that mistake 103 yards the tendency is to get overly aggressive but this should be a green light special that's got to get down just trickles off the back and that's a mistake made by Pano after having [Music] back with Alexa Pano at the 11th and she's got putter out Jim are you surprised at all by this or would this be your play too it's the safer play I mean it's these you know fringes are so smooth if my ball rolls another three Ines it's in the Deep stuff so might have got away with one here I like the play for her though kind of settle herself down here goes in that's a bonus especially because it's going to be downhill off of that be much more difficult of a Chip Shot hit it w guess you made the right call hope it was the right one just don't believe me and talk about being able to turn things around with one putt looking at you know scrambling to save par and all of a sudden she's walking away with a birdie by the way that won't even count as a putt help the putting stats a little bit off of that be much more difficult of a Chip Shot H it guess she made the right call kind of shot that she's been looking for all day now on the te at the 12th that's Pano if there's a t- shot you can let go it's this one she has missed a few left but that is not left that's up that right side that's probably going to be a three shot hole if it gets a big enough kick off that it's still going to be a three shot hole Yeah it's so easy if you miss multiple shots One Direction like she has left to T of over are constantly going so low with so many birdies like this woman right here Mario Janar on the 14th her second shot five under on a round tied for the lead and she'll have that to take the lead no is in the rough for her second yeah now miss Fairway up par five not sure she could have got there too make sure you want rotate down okay 258 in front what she wants to do is leave like few yards left of the bunker yeah oh she's got her line she wants to leave herself a full shot this whole location's down between kind of two slopes okay that should be fine yep well you could hear her dad red Pano talking about needing to really make sure she rotated through the ball it's so easy for that thick rough to grab the club face keep it held open it's looking so solid is this sitting down a little a little is it just me you're okay you just got to get make sure you and you said how far I want to hit it 78 to [Music] 79 but make sure you're you're down and stay in front of it okay about a pace right all right you heard the carry is about 78 it will skip up totals one is 87 yards Andrea leaves in about inside 10 ft her ball skipped and jumped go this has got to go big time oh this is an accessible whole location that was not her best obviously it seemed like she wasn't super comfortable uh even just visually asked Within Reach Alexa Pano again telling her dad can you please move out of my way well I think there's a point I mean she's still a young player there's a point where you have to own your own game and I think that's you know you put your name on the scorecard and we're learning as we go but this goes a little right and at the end it should fall back left so just a little bit left for a par at the par five for Pano but Maria janard leads Now by one Andrea Lee Alexa Pano little bit of communication there with a caddy Brian he cat's abandon Dunes they she picked him up on Tuesday split the distance between the flag and the hedge of the uh okay I'm good this is Alexa Pano on the T at 13 her dad giving her some final instructions that last thing he just said whatever happens happens you just really have to commit you know he's telling her this is your Club you commit to the shot and whatever happens happens this is the right iron this is the right shot that you want to hit hang on why a big draw that had a 60 ft of curve to it and actually surprisingly it stopped down stopped a lot quicker than I thought it was going to draws normally bounce quite hard but that had some spin to it it's getting prettier by the second at the 13th Pano for a birdie to get to 20 under that was also well paced very easy tap in but Davey Weber her best two finishes have been in team events uh tied for six of the Great Lakes in 2022 but in 20s has good chance at par and like a Pano for par at the 14th relying on that putter again this time it won't fall falls apart now Alexa Pano her second at the 15th yeah and she just hit it a few yards farther than Andrea so it didn't take that massive jump off of the knob it was able there are only so many players left on the course who have a chance right now with as well as Janar is playing to contend with her Alexa Pano you look at what she has left and she needs again to make one of those longer putts for birdie right now well she had her first three days she made each day over 100 feet of putts so definitely knows the speed of these greens and has had some serious putting magic she could use some right now each of the first three rounds the 19-year-old made over a 100 ft of putts and that pace is really good good just leaked off to the left at the [Music] end she knows she has three more holes but Alexa Pano has a putt at 17 for birdie to get to 18 under which is where she started the day she began the day rolling a long one in for a par save and now she rolls in a birdie putt here at the 17th but a little bit too little too late for [Music] she was in contention here in 2020 and 2017 she tied for third both occasions she had not won since 2021 as we heard with her sister area at the Dow hadn't won as an individual since 2018 to come out and play the way she did this whole week I mean that says something so should they work uh both of jutan gar sisters work with vision 54 uh and um with p and Nelson and they and they really work on staying so positive and it's all about the pro that was great now Alexa Pano will put a mark on that the wheels kind of came off for Pano as she was trying to chase down her second career Victory I mean her puning was just so lights out the first three rounds and uh sometimes when then that isn't happening that can put so much pressure on the rest of your game cuz she was so reliant on her putter the first 3 days when she was making each day over 100 ft of putts hey so much out of though her tournament this week Andrea Lee and Alexa Pano even though they did not have the week they won I mean this right now Alexa Pano this is for double bogey to finish off her round Alexa Pano going to be disappointed a two over 74 in the final round after three rounds in the 60s presentation trophy our new champ we were
