Intro in this video I'll give you the safest running backs to Target in 2024 fantasy redraft leagues I'm Jim Coventry of RotoWire let's start out with Bree Hall Breece Hall and I know two years ago he had an ACL injury but he's out of the woods he's a year removed from that 23 years old we love running backs when they're young anybody can get hurt but the probability seems to be a bit better for these younger running backs Bree Hall should be very consistent and a high level performer and I really believe he can push Christian mcaffrey for the top spot in the running back position this year now with Bree hul last year the whole offense was a mess terrible quarterback play offensive line was a wreck and Breeze Hall had to find ways to get it done now he only had four and a half yards per Carri for him is human but in that situation defenses could play downhill against him they could load up to stop him and yet he still had for and a half yards per carry but the thing was gree Hall got it done as a receiver it was insane now remember the first four weeks of the Season he only averaged 22 snaps and nine touches because he was recovering from that ACL but from week five on I said as a receiver he just got it done eight games with at least five catches seven games with at least 40 receiving yards five receiving touchdowns now maybe this year he's not needed as a receiver he'll certainly catch the ball some all that said we know he's an elite Runner this year the offensive line four major additions to that line this line should in theory go from being this maybe the second worst in the league to being League average maybe better Aaron Rodgers takes over for that horrible cast of quarterbacks but even if Rogers doesn't make it through I know he's not a earth shattering game breaker but Tyrod Taylor honestly is better than the Zack Wilson and Company mess they had last year defenses will have to respect the passing game Bree tall rush for 5.8 yards per carry as a rookie that could be in play again this year Dynamic explosive young running back so yes safe in Breeze hall now for the next running Derrick Henry back I hate to bring up an older running back because that and safe do not belong in the same sent but how do I not bring up a 30-year-old Derk Henry Derek Henry has been the model of durability now in 2021 he broke his foot all right is what it is he missed half a season he's still at 937 rushing yards 10 touchdowns um like a 1100 and change scrimmage yards but other than that Henry rarely ever misses time and last year you could say he was dropping now in N 2019 2020 he was 5.3 yards per carry the last three seasons like a full yard less Tennessee was not a healthy situation the line was getting worse worse and worse every year Henry was getting hit behind the line of scrimmage before he could get ahead of steam which is his game more than he ever had now even though Henry was giving up Carri to Tai Spears and Spears often had more um snaps than Henry Henry still had 280 carries and 28 catches and it was incredible that he had almost 1,400 scrimmage yards and 12 touchdowns that was in a bad situation now Henry gets Lamar Jackson the Ultimate RPO quarterback you're going to see linebackers and Defenders on their heels instead of their toes they were on their toes driving down at Henry the last couple years now is Lamar Jackson gonna run by himself is GNA give it to Henry is he gonna take it back and throw the linebackers are going to be in a real Quagmire that leads to Derk Henry those moments of indecision where teams can't storm the Back Field at the snap Henry is going to be there to take full advantage that and don't forget despite the lower yard per carry last few years Henry was still 86 percentile in broken tackle rate last year 77th in yards after contact that is near the top of the league I know he's 30 but Derk Henry is still a great bet to continue where he's picked up in recent years if you by getting a free two-day trial with no credit card needed you just head on over to rotowire.com Jim and you can see all of our content Joe Mixon now of Joe Mixon the Houston Texans is the last reliable running back that I'm looking at look mixon's a compiler and there's nothing wrong with that in fantasy football he's going to get you right about four yards carry nothing special as a runner but I'll tell you about Mixon Mixon has handled over 300 touches with regularity actually he's averaged 303 touches the last three seasons 51 reception average in the last three years and on the Houston team he's on now Devin single ter and Damen Pierce caught 43 passes Mixon should be in line for about that level of receiving volume again as a runner Mixon will take what's blocked he's very good near the goal line so Joe mix it again he may not be the Earth shattering running back you'd like but for volume and consistency very few get it done to mixon's level I also like that he steps into this Bobby slowick offense where defenses really have to worry about that a passing attack you have Nico Collins Stefan digs tank Del receiver of course young emerging Superstar CJ Stout at quarterback this seems going to score a lot of points and that Rising tide will lift All Ships and Joe Mixon who had a great offense in Cincinnati this may be an even better offense in Houston
