Sabrina & Barry Silence Breakup Rumors

Barry Keoghan, Sabrina Carpenter's boyfriend,  reportedly attended her 2024 MTV Music Video   Awards rehearsals at the UBS venue even  though he wasn't attending the show. Despite not being present in the  Elmont, Long Island building when   she sang a mashup of her three best  hits, which were published this year,   the 31-year-old Irish actor showed his support for  his intermittent partner prior to the ceremony. The Saltburn singer reportedly received  a sneak peek of her space-themed set,   which included performances of her  songs Espresso, Please Please Please,   and Taste from her most recent album Short  n' Sweet, amid rumors that they broke up. On Wednesday night, Carpenter startled her  fans by going on stage and even kissing a   backup dancer who was decked up  in a complete blue alien suit. He and Carpenter made their red carpet  debut at the Met Gala earlier this year,   but they haven't gone to an award  event as one another's plus one yet. People revealed last month that the  couple, who initially crossed paths   in September of last year at PFW,  have an "on and off" relationship. This comes after it was reported that Barry's wild   partying and drunken behavior led  to Sabrina dumping him in July. 'How can I skirt around this question?' she asked   Rolling Stone when they inquired if  she refers to Barry as her boyfriend. "The dating pool is just the pool, and you go  for it when you find people who are genuine,   brilliant, and incredible in every aspect."  Since I obviously create songs about how I feel,   I suppose I shouldn't be shocked if people  are curious about the subjects of my songs. According to a prior report, their alleged breakup   occurred because she became "increasingly  frustrated" with his inebriated behavior. Barry, on the other hand,   seemed to deny the rumors of their breakup  as he kept like her Instagram pictures. Following the release of a tip by  celebrity gossip DeuxMoi on Friday,   fans were devastated to learn  that the couple had split up. Anonymous "Gossip Girl" DeuxMoi posted a  message that was given to her on Instagram,   stating that Sabrina and Barry had broken up. However, Barry allayed worries  two hours later when he liked a   post that showed the Espresso singer in underwear. During her romance with the Oscar candidate in   June, Sabrina announced that she  was "in love for the first time." "I try not to tell people what a song is  explicitly about," the singer-songwriter   told a reporter as she talked about  her songwriting process and how her   "idol," Taylor Swift, taught her to let the  listener infer the meanings of her songs. "People often have no idea what's  going through someone's mind,   much less a young girl navigating love  and a lot of things for the first time." In a recent discussion, the singer-songwriter  allayed fan suspicions that lyrics from her new   album, Short N' Sweet, would  be influenced by the actor. She also talked candidly about  the experience of having the   Oscar nominee play the lead in her  music video, Please Please Please. When the Espresso singer acknowledged  that she tries to avoid using topical   material in her lyrics, some fans who  were looking for a deeper look inside   her relationship may have been disappointed. She remarked, "Writing about things that have  happened already or in the past feels easier." A little distance seems to  help her gain more clarity,   although it appears that the delayed creative  process raised some questions in the studio. "I wrote a song three years after I last  spoke to the person who inspired the lyric,   and my producers tell me I'm  beating a dead horse," Sabrina said.
