Final Steelers 53-man roster predictions | Steelers vs. Lions preseason preview

e e and welcome welcome back everybody to another episode of the still curtain podcast I'm your host Tommy jagi editor of still curtain. comom joining me as always is still curtain contributor Shane kubis we've are going to talk about the Steelers uh preseason game things have not gone well so far Shane we'll get to that here in just a second uh we're gonna rehash Steelers vers bills we're gonna give a preview for Pittsburgh's preseason finale against the Lions what needs to happen what do we need to see from that game uh and then Shane and I are going to sign off by giving our 53 man roster predictions by this time during our live show next week the Steelers will have cut down their roster to just 53 players we'll see how many of those we can accurately predict and Shane let's start with some of the news today uh Nate herbig we found out uh recently that he landed on IR with a shoulder injury and so he is not going to be available for the pitsburgh Steelers now Shane correct me if I'm wrong did they make a rule change this year or is is it still the same as before where you land an IR before the start of the Season you are done I think there might be something a little bit different for this year in regarding that but I still think with his injury I doubt that we see him anyway I I don't know if he's going to be able to return um to full strength before the end of the season regardless like maybe if we make the playoffs or something if he's allowed to return he might be available but I'm going to assume that we probably are done for the year with him regard and the one new rule Shane that I that I heard about was you can can put two players on IR uh before those roster has to be finalized that can come back something like that something something like that something there's one little tweak to what so you don't have to have those players on the roster for a full day uh before stashing them on IR you can do that immediately so maybe which makes a lot of sense by the way but if the case I don't know if we see him anyway that's a really tough injury return from for sure and and it's a big blow to the Steelers I know a lot of people are are chalking it up like it's nothing at all Fraser is going to start and that's probably true yeah but Nate herbig is he would have been your Swingman across all three interior spots like play left guard Right Guard or Center in a pinch and yes we had obviously the the sloppy exchanges in week one there those two muffed snaps to Justin Fields but you don't want to see the depth of your offensive line get injured and now uh he's injured uh Dylan cook is in a walking boots um we'll see if that impacts our 53 man roster prediction at all but when we get to that point Shane I'm interest to see how you compensated for that herbig injury and what you chose to do there but uh keep that in mind moving forward I I'll be interested to see too how much the Steelers decide to play Frasier here and I wrote when this happened shean and I'm like the Steelers all of a sudden uh they went from a really deep offensive line to thin immediately and if Fraser gets injured I don't know what your answer is do you play Ryan McCollum do you try to play Spencer Anders in at Center you go out and sign somebody so far they have not went out and poached somebody else's Center maybe they willbe come cut day uh but right now I mean they're they're running thin if they another injury to that position which is to be expected you go down two centers you're in big trouble so now it's it's so much depending on Frasier's ability to stay healthy yeah most teams can't lose their starting center let alone the two best options at starting center for their team and um it's just really unfortunate I think for herbig too because this was a guy that you maybe he ends up losing the job anyway maybe is just a backup like he's been but he is one of the better backup interior players in the league in my opinion because he can play a little bit of everything I think he's a guy that hasn't been able to play a lot but when he has played he stepped up to the plate so losing a guy like that that is a veteran despite being still pretty young and everything is definitely disappointing I do think a guy like McCormick could be the backup center I know that he did test that out at like different Allstar games and and during the draft process I do believe he can play that position but again you're asking then two I to be your your top you know two centers right which not ideal i' I'd rather have a veteran as an option behind Frasier if we're going to have to go to someone else yeah and we never want to see somebody go down for a significant amount of time potentially the whole season I all things considered Shane it's it could have been worse it could have been somebody that they were really counting on that offensive line out for the year they are dealing with injuries though I mean Troy fanu still hasn't come back from that knee injury yet uh Roman Wilson has got injured in the first padded practice has not been able to play it doesn't look like he'll be able to play in the preseason so no uh they have dealt with injuries to the rookie class so unfortunate that way unfortunate with her Big's injury but all things considered uh could be worse than that they didn't lose a a JJ McCarthy level player like some of these teams out there already so all right let's talk about Brandon iuk just for a second we're not gonna dwell on this guy this is not a big thing unfortunately nothing we Ted so much about him over the the last weeks and months even but I du reportedly was displeased with a contract offer the Steelers made had they been able to execute a trade with Pittsburgh uh according to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated that offer came in under $28 million per year and so understandably you can see why auk could be frustrated when he thinks his market value should be in the AM manra St Brown range the AJ Brown range uh it the Steelers offer would have came in under that and I guess that pushed him back to renegotiate uh with the 49ers and so they're kind of in that process right now so that's where things stand with auk yeah and it's unfortunate if the Steelers did truly offer him less than 27 million while trying to do this because it already sounds like he might have been trying to get leverage for the ners to just pay him what he wants anyway it may have never even been something that was going to happen but if they were serious about this if this was a legitimate like we think we have a an offer on the table that they'll accept as was reported and they were offering him less than that you're just wasting your time like this is a huge waste of resources of time effort if you're not going to pay him at least 28 is million because again that's about the same as about 31 in California for the for all intents and purposes so it again it's just unfortunate if that's the case it just seems like you know what was the point of trying to do this if you're just going to lowball the guy that you clearly felt was wereth trading for it's just it's it's a weird thing I don't know how much of that I really believe just because it doesn't make a lot of sense within the context of everything else that we've learned over this process but honestly at this point all I really have to say about R iuk is that I hope he enjoy playing in San Francisco because I think that's what's goingon to happen and I hope that if that does if that is going to be the case I hope it's soon so we can put this to bed yeah this thing has been such a roller coaster ride from the beginning and this time last week we were talking about uh that report that said the Steelers in the 49ers had the details of a trade in place they were just waiting for the final signoff by John Lynch to 49ers GM and it never came obviously um and now we we backtrack this this far where it looks like now the chances are slim of getting iuk it looked it looked really high it looked really promising uh not very long ago and and now it's it's looks like it's not on the table currently so we'll see what ends up happening uh do you think Shane just a random question here do you think that the Steelers are going to make a trade of any kind for a wide receiver before the deadline this year before the deadline I do think it's very likely that they're going to at least attempt to do so I don't know if they'll end up actually happening um but it just again like this receiver group is thin topheavy and probably their best hope outside of pickings is a rookie who hasn't played in the preseason like that just to me feels like a receiver that probably is going to need reinforcements I don't expect it to be anything crazy like maybe a Sutton trade is at the highest level like maybe the Broncos are really bad and and Steelers are trying to still compete and they're ready to move on off of him but other than that I don't expect anything truly significant at that position probably somebody that they feel can start for them you know but that with this group that doesn't have to be a high level player so it's kind of it's a little bit iffy um but in general I think that we we'll probably see them try to do that at least at some point yeah I think they'll gauge interest at least I don't know if things are going to happen that way or not uh but yeah that's that's where we stand right now and that's what it is so um let's talk about Arthur Smith here for a second and just downplaying the Steelers offensive struggles now Pittsburgh clearly had struggles of their own these first two weeks uh couldn't get anything going offensively broi Jones has been a mess we're going to talk about him here uh in just a bit the quarterback play has been sloppy at best Russell Wilson didn't show anything worthy of being that guy yet and so it's we're going off of just his reputation I guess and just trusting that he's going to pull things together but Arthur Smith was adamant that things aren't as bad as they seem that the preseason is not necessarily going to be a reflection of what happens in the regular season which is understandable we saw last year in the preseason uh Kenny picket was awesome and it just did not translate to the NFL stage so it there's always not always a correlation a lot of teams that do bad in the preseason have good regular season so I understand where Arthur Smith is coming from at the same time Shane I do believe that the struggles are real I mean I think I don't think that's fabricated there I think what we're seeing is there are legitimate issues that must be resolved and I think Arthur Smith knows that uh but what do you make of some of the comments that he said kind of just brushing aside uh the struggles of the offense so far in the preseason yeah sorry about that by the way Tommy had to do something real quick but um I do think that like you said struggles are real but I think the reason for the struggles are less about him necessarily and I think that's probably what he's trying to get at is what we're seeing in the preseason isn't going to be representative of what we see in the regular season in terms of game plan terms of play calls like that's what I think he's kind of trying to get at mostly is that like don't worry about the offensive structure being like the struggling I think it's the players themselves are just not playing very well right now which obviously that matters more than anything because it doesn't matter if your scheme's good if the players aren't playing well but I think once they are using his actual Playbook and they're actually running stuff that they expect to run in the regular season consistently I do think it will get better obviously I mean it has to where youve scored like what 15 points in the preseason through two games like yeah we're not going to score seven and a half points a game I promise you that much um but I again I understand he's trying to downplay those struggles because he doesn't want his players to lose confidence right especially in him and in the system what they're trying to accomplish here and at the end of let's be honest like this is a team that especially in the preseason when you're not doing many things interesting like they're going to need to do some like not trick plays necessarily but some more interesting Concepts more things to trick the defense a little bit because this is not this unbelievable offense in terms of talent right we have a lot of young players a lot of guys who are still kind of coming up and trying to find themselves in the league offensively especially on the offensive line and the quarterbacks just haven't been very good let's just be honest about it like you know we'll talk about Wilson and Fields a little bit later in the show but they haven't exactly lit it up out there right like this is not something that you know we're doing and we're not running the ball with our main running backs very often because it's a preseason like this offense is gonna look much different than what we've seen so far yeah everybody rolls out a vanilla offense that's nothing new Arthur Smith is no no different than that I think everything's going to hinge on that play action for him like if the can protect and they can find guys down the field like that's going to be uh the niche of of that offense for Smith we'll see if that improves even by this next preseason game and especially uh early in the season we'll have to see those improvements there uh let's talk about the Steelers vers bills and if anybody's here joining us in the live chat go ahead and drop us a question if you have any for us we'd love to get to those and see if we have an answer for you all right Shane let's talk uh notes from preseason week two Steelers versus Bills uh first thing up on the dock here we we gotta address the elephant in the room Brodrick Jones was so bad in that game and it's concerning I think and I want to get your thoughts on this where is this all coming from like I broke down the film the second time uh and if you want to hear more about bro Jones Josh y dedicated entire podcast to that on Monday please check that out he had me laughing out loud at one point when he was talking about Dan Moore so you need to go check out his show yeah but but broadrick in this game Shane I couldn't figure out like what is the issue here I went back and watched the tape I watched some all 22 and you could just see he's not using that right arm very well his mechanics are an absolute mess and so when I watched it through again I'm like all right this guy is he's clearly it it it seems like he's not using his arm I me that that's that was my first thought because the hand placement was so bad but then he comes out to the media Shane and says oh I'm good I'm I'm fine I mean the the elbow sure it's it's a paraphrasing here of course i' I've got to wear this this bracel on my elbow but it's it's not affecting my play being a write tackles not affecting my play I'm like man that was your excuse out right there credit him for not taking the easy way out but now it's like what is your deal then did you just not improve from last year did you not clean up your mechanics at all do we need to start pointing at both you and Pat Meyer like what what do we do at this point Shane when his mechanics look worse than last year his punch looks worse than last year what do you chalk this up to unfortunately I think that one like the the lack of taking the excuse that was there I do think is just it's a players thing like they don't want to take excuses a lot of them um they try not to do they also don't want to let the other team know like oh yeah my right arm you can just go to it right like you don't want teams to know know that like they already kind of know that clearly but they you don't want to make it like oh yeah if you just go to if you just go towards my right side it's not gonna happen um but in general I think this is if we're ranking kind of the issues here and what's going on I think number one thing Steelers and Pat Meyer have not done a good job of coaching project Jones primar the switching sides back and forth situation we've talked at Nai about this we've talked about why we don't like it we've talked about all the stuff with it but I think it needs to be said again like some guys won now I don't think he's necessarily somebody who can't do it but some guys just aren't as good at doing it right they're not going to be able to flip sides Dan Mo right Dan Moore they already know experience with that they're not even bothering to try to do it with him anymore which is kind of funny but so some guys just aren't going to make that transition as well and and if you find that out which again I don't know if Jones really Falls in that category I think it's more that he was already a raw player and then you ask a raw player to play at different position it's just not going to usually go very well but at the end of the day like this was a player coming out of Georgia that didn't have a ton of experience that was athletically gifted out the wazu like everything you could ever want in a tackle Prospect length size you know athletic ability everything but again raw you don't you this a guy that didn't have a lot of time to just form a pass protection plan essentially for himself how to play the position at a high level and then you ask him to go learn how to do it at two different positions flipping back and forth I'm surprised that people are surprised about this a little bit honestly that he hasn't really developed as much as he should have until they decide to stick him in one spot and I don't really care what the spot is like I said I don't think playing right tackle is necessarily the issue I think it's that he's playing both too much but once you pick a spot for him and you give him a full year of playing it then I will be willing to comment on whether he is the issue or not because I think until you do that you just don't know like you can't confidently say like he can't play I just don't believe that's the case either so I feel for him I'm hoping that they do settle him in at left tackle here when fatan gets back and they just leave him there for the rest of his career if they do that I do think he can return value on the pick still I think that he will get better but again they have to just do it and I've talked about this before if you truly believe Dan MO is so bad at right tackle that you cannot play him there then just don't play him then play whoever else can play right T I don't care who can play right tackle let Mason McMan play freaking right tackle he probably could play better than Dan Moore apparently like that seems what it is like it's just at some point you have to stick and pick a spot for him and I'm hoping that when fatana gets back that spot is left tackle and we just move on yeah we're about to see how shortsighted Mike Tomlin really is Shane because if he's willing to stick Dean Moore out there for the fourth year and stunt the development of his 14th overall pick that they traded up for in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft I'll have a hard time making sense of that now obviously you want your best players to play Moore looks like a better player in the preseason he just does right now now right it's two games it's a handful of Series in the in AE in preseason action yeah so it depends on how much you want to read and that yes Pro Jones was ragd dolled by Greg rouso like I don't think there's any getting around that like it was an ugly performance uh overall because it's not that every snap was bad but when you have like three or four of those really ugly reps it that's all anybody's gonna see and they're not g to every time that you you you're in a correct spot in the run run fit you get to the second level all that kind of stuff doesn't matter anymore when you see three or four really bad reps in a g game and you're getting tossed off to the side having said that I think it's completely the wrong approach not only to not have rodri Jones playing his natural position but to have Dan Moore there once again for the fourth year in a row when that is not the guy that you've invested in you need to figure out who brri Jones is is if if he's healthy the steart think he's healthy if he thinks he's healthy and the elbow injuri is really not affecting him then he should be out there at left tackle if that is their intention we've we've been very clear that that's what they should do now sure you could have made the other argument if if they think that valoni was the left tackle keep rrick at right side and see how things go that's the thing either one I'm okay with but they haven't done either of those things somehow but now after supposedly making the Declaration car according to Jerry Dak that fanu is the right tackle and he's already won that job why are you playing bradrick Jones at right tackle like the guy needs every rep he can get at left tackle he missed it all last year because the Steelers shortsightedness they they wanted to uh bench a core for instead of Dan Moore whatever behavioral issues what whatever it was and then puts uh bradrick in there right tackle a position that he was not comfortable with why not make Dan more uncomfortable like we never understood that from the gate put him in there and see what he's got like I'm I'm really interested like is there nothing bothering you is it mechanics what's the issue is it playing on the right side but I agree with you Shane either way whatever the issue is you have to plug him in at left tackle and you have to play him there you do not have a choice at this point the Steelers have too much invested in him that the chance of ruining this player it it I mean the the risk of that is not outweighed by anything that Dan Moore is going to give you early in the season like there there's just no benefit if the steers think that Dan Moore swings a game one way or the other I mean I they're they're they're gravely mistaken that's not going to be the case he needs to he needs to get in there he needs to figure out what he's got so the struggles are real for brck Jones I really hope he can clean it up and again Shane I come back to this and the reason why I do question a little bit last year I was super optimistic about Jones I know he didn't grade out particularly well because every once in a while he'd have some of those really sloppy reps reps where he'd be laid off the ball he'd be out of position uh but we didn't see a strength issue at all like did you ever notice a strength issue with Joon no he he his play strength and his athleticism is what makes him the tackle Prospect it was it wasn't the Polish it wasn't any of that because it's something that you have to coach him up on and again I kind of go back to Pat Meyer and I'm looking like we've drafted some very talented guys and we have to see return on investment on those guys and regardless of the players themselves they obviously are the number one person who has to be responsible for their level of play but if the coaching isn't elevating them or at least getting them to the level they need to be at you have to and I know we don't do that I know we like to hang on to guys for two years longer than we need to but at some point you have to look at internally and go are we not coaching these guys well are we not getting out of them what we need because of our coaching or is it we're just not drafting the right players I believe so far more in con's ability to evaluate than I believe in Pat Meyer's ability to coach let me put that way that's kind of where I'm at with that I'm sure most people agree with me but again at some point like we got so used to having such great offensive line coaching um for so long with like with guys like MCH but again that hasn't been there for a while and I think it shows a lot in what's going on right now yeah and and my concern Shane if I had one major concern about Jones heading into the season it's that last year your mechanics were a mess but you at least showed all the signs that we to see yes this year so far in two preseason games your mechanics are a mess but you also look like you have no punch and no play strength and I'm like where where is this coming from like yeah I was I was very encouraged by what I saw as a rookie it wasn't all there but I thought like he would take that next step we're not going to hit the panic button yet although there is General cause for concern like when you see a player play as bad as he has in these first couple of games he's got to turn it around and so I that's the that's one player I need to see more from uh in this finale what I would do if I was the coach and I'm not I would plug Jones in at left tackle he would play three quarters at least at left tackle and if the three quarters don't go well he's playing the fourth quarter too like that that's where I at unfortunately I do think like because of the lack of reps you're right I know he's a starter for us theoretic obviously supposed to be but if he's not going to show anything in the first two preseason games if he's really healthy and this is the key thing is if if he's not fully healthy and they're throwing him out there anyway at least throw him at left tackle where he's going to be playing from what you're saying like getting him reps at a position he's not going to play when he's banged up is about as dumb as it gets I'm sorry like I don't I don't know the story of that again maybe he is healthy is he's going to get like he said maybe that just means that he's not healthy but he isn't going to get better till after the season he doesn't want to go on IR or something or they don't want to put him on on injured reserve if that's the case then I guess we're kind of just dealing with the guy who's going to be hampered anyway so at that point I guess who cares but outside of that like you have to play him until he gets something figured out like you have to allow him to go out there and win or lose until he figures something out like it's tough yeah yeah 100 perc I I couldn't agree with you more I mean I think that you stick him out there use your left tackle if you can't get it to work if it's for health reasons shame on the Steelers for even throwing him to the Wolves right now anyway like that so but it we'll we'll find out I guess what this is going to be and hopefully Shane a few weeks from now we can say remember the time that that broadrick looked really awful in the preseason well he's cleaned things up quite a bit mechanically is where I I worry though because it's just like got arms on the back side of the pass rusher I'm like what your hand placement is awful like you need to get those hands lower inside I mean there's a lot that needs to be cleaned up and I agree I I I trust the front office I trust Andy widle and Omar Khan a lot more than I do Pat Meyer Like Pat Meyer does not have a good track record if you go back to his his days with the Panthers and the the Chargers there so is that an issue maybe maybe the Steelers need to find a new offensive line coach Pronto but we'll find out uh and let's move on because if you want more on bradrick Jones and you want to hear a continued like 45 minute rant go check out Josh's show on Monday it's on the YouTube channel all right Shane let's talk about Russell Wilson versus Justin Fields here a battle of unspectacular play I would say overall now to me it it really wasn't all that close fields is just splashier I mean he's just splashier than Wilson Wilson used to have those I mean not Fields level legs but he used to be able to escape and and uh throw on the Run do all that kind of stuff he showed no signs of being able to do that in this game at least again we're talking about one we're picking out singling out one preseason game here not gonna hit the panic button yet no but I was not thrilled by what I saw with Russell Wilson it he was checked down Charlie in there I understand you're getting hit I mean brri isn't protecting your offensive Line's falling apart you're going to check the ball down uh the one pass he did throw down the field he threw it out of bounds with so Pickins couldn't even not even George Pickins could make picks almost still did it but not quite almost did and someone argue that he did like if you freeze frame that the ball in one hand I think you could argue it the ball wasn't moving but yeah yeah I understand why the refs call it the way they did yeah regardless not a great performance by Russell Wilson you averaged 4.7 yards an attempt you you play nearly an entire half of play and you put zero points on the board Fields wasn't a lot better Fields had three points and he did uh lead the team a successful two-minute Drive that's where the legs come in handy there you can pop off a 20- yard run and get your your team in field goal range so there's advantages of that what do you make of the performances of these two quarterbacks in the second preseason game has this competition got tighter Shane some people will will brush it off like there's nothing this isn't a competition it's Russell Wilson's job well I'm watching quarterbacks and I'm seeing I'm I'm seeing one look as good maybe better than the other certainly offers more upside because of the the rushing ability but what do you make from their performances against the bills um I don't know if you've ever seen this uh before but there's a uh meme Tommy of uh like when guys are match uped against each other one's it's like c one is coughing baby other one is hydrogen bomb I don't know if you've ever seen that before I don't think I have this is coughing baby versus coughing baby that can run pretty good like that's kind of where I'm at with this right now it's like neither of these options are making me happy right now yeah however at this point and this is kind of we've talked about this when we brought these guys in and our kind of philosophy about with the quarterback position for the Steelers is if you're gonna bring in a Russell Wilson and Justin fields to me Russell Wilson has to be significantly better on the field and in practice then fields for him not to be the starter for fields to not be the guy that you put in because of the potential upside right Wilson is not the player anymore where you can just say oh he's definitely a starting caliber quarterback that you have to you have to play him right that's not what he's what he is anymore at least what he's not been for the last two years Fields is also very much in that light of like he's very volatile as a starting quarterback so it's like is he a starter is he not level it depends on it's kind of a week- toe thing but he presents some level of upside whereas Wilson clearly kind of doesn't and that's where my issue lies is like if I had to choose one of these guys we we've talked about this before too in previous shows where I'd rather play Russell Wilson and then go to Justin Fields than do the opposite however if they're both clearly not 100% the guy take the guy that might get you out of a bad situation more often because that's kind of where Fields is at versus Wilson they both are going to be able to throw the football down the field that's both of the things they do best as passers especially things that matter as passers right if Wilson was is going to be Surgical and was going to be able to get the offense in good spots a lot then I would say that it's worth it in an offense like this to start him but I just don't know if I believe that's the case like I really don't because the checkdown stuff you have to be able to hit your checkdowns right there is times where checkdowns are good obviously but he has to mix in a little bit more in between stuff between the checkdowns and the Deep balls and if he doesn't the the other thing that he would have to do is make plays with his legs well he's in his mid-30s now he's not going to do that as well as Fields why not just let Fields go out there it's kind of got to the point where yes you're gonna have more volatile play from Fields overall but at least you might get a couple games where he goes off and you can win with your offense and not your defense whereas with Wilson I don't know if you're gonna get that yeah Shane but that there lies the problem in Mike tomlin's whole philosophy because Fields is going to more volatile play more High Varian play he's probably going to stick with a guy that he knows is not going to turn the ball over maybe as frequently even though uh the big play rate that you're going to get at Justin field is going to be higher because he can do it with his legs as well Russell or Wilson cannot anymore the word I Ed to describe uh Wilson in his first Steelers preseason game was skittish like he just looks skittish behind the pocket I mean at 5'11 anyway he's never been a good middle of the field thrower that is not his game at all always been yeah it's always been the lofting Deep ball down the sideline and he he tried one of those and it was nearly complete for a big gain and maybe that changed his narrative a little bit but you got to attempt those type of throws more frequently you can't be so content I I didn't see what his air yards per attempt were I can't imagine that it would have been Goods that one I I don't think there was one past 15 yards outside of that one I don't think and the one that was I think was that like kind of like dig to uh Jefferson that that he I don't know if anything else was anything close to like 15 plus yeah and so the question is absolutely Justified don't let people on Twitter or whatever say that that you're being ridiculous if you think that Justin field should start I totally understand Russell Wilson turns 36 years old this year he's had three straight Bad seasons don't look at the the raw numbers will fool you like crazy like what he did in Denver last year yes that was that is fabricated production a lot of easy passes in the red zone and he didn't deserve I would say as many touchdowns as he had it it wasn't a good year overall there's a reason why the Broncos wanted to ditch the guy out after paying as much as they did in his contract and knowing that they're going to pay for him anyway just to get out of that deal and in draft Capital obviously from the Seahawks he was not good and so I'm I feel more optimistic about the guy who is at least trending in the right direction even it's not as steep of a curve as you'd like to see Wilson's been training the wrong direction for three years so I get that I I understand what Bill Cower was saying on the pat mcfey where he's like all right it's easier to turn to Justin Fields than it is to play fields and then worse comes to worse then you have to bench him and turn to Wilson my my thought process Shane and I was there too I I kind of just feel like just play Fields the whole season like I don't care me that take I just think he gives you more upside revolve your game around the play action pass and just let him run let the guy run like that's GNA when you don't have a number two receiver a good way to mask a a poor passing offense would be have a mobile quarterback and you've got perhaps the most mobile quarterback in the league I mean he's right up there near the top so I think they could give them that that edge and that Niche that not a lot of other teams have by doing something like that so that's my two cents on that we'll see do let me ask you this Shane do you think anything anything these quarterbacks can do in this final preseason game is going to to confidently sway you one way or the other no I and I think we know how the Steelers operate I think we can pretty confidently say that Wilson is going to get the nod to start the year and probably a shorter leash than he had maybe before the preseason started where or before Camp started when when Wilson missed so much time I think that they got the sea fields and he did play well in Camp and again hasn't played great in the preseason but has also played better than Wilson overall in the short time that they've both had so like I think that that Gap is much closer than it was to start the year and I think that they're going to be more willing to move to him if it comes down to it but again I think the thing that's really frustrating here is like people will tell you like oh well Fields like you see Wilson is is more reliable he's gonna he's gonna do more things consistently it's like yeah but is it really that much more consistent at this point with Wilson like I I just this is there's not as much of a gap in terms of even just the reliable play from these guys as you would think there should be right I just don't believe that at this point and again at least with Fields like hey if it's third and 15 you know is he gonna sit sit in the pocket and throw a dig over the middle of the field probably not but could he run for 25 yards maybe like it's like and if you're the Steelers you're trying to win right every year is about maximizing you want every ounce of of wins you can get out of this team Fields is probably worth another win compared to Wilson at the end of the day over a 17 game sample like that's just my opinion it's going to be he might also give you a chance to lose some games but we find ways to win games we shouldn't win anyway might as well do it with the guy who might be able to also help you win instead of just be there yeah it kind of feels like that's what we've been doing is like ah the quarterback's on the field but I don't know how much it matters right now um at least with him you have a shot at doing something so well and Shane the Steelers have tried the philosophy the last several years of saying we're just not gonna turn the ball over we're gonna play great defense We're not gonna turn the ball over when you don't score points it doesn't matter ask the Patriot how did they go having a good defense like it's it doesn't matter when you can't score so give the guy with the more upside but I do agree with you you hit the nail on the head when you said it's Russell Wilson's job he is going to be the starter I would be floored if he wasn't because of everything from the very beginning from from the very early report that Tomlin called Russell Wilson when they were trading for fields in confirming that he was still going to be the starter yeah but I agree that he's 100% going to be on a shorter leash than what we initially anticipated because missing so much time in training camp not looking good in the preseason so far I think that leash is really short I think that two three games into the season we could see a quarterback change if things don't go well offensively for the Steelers uh we'll see if that would be enough to make the switch all right Shane let's talk about a few winners and losers let's just T touch on a couple here uh before we move on to our next discussion topic um anybody that stood out to you in in a positive light from this game this Bills game here I still think Leal is playing really well the mar Le interior and I I think that this kind of this game especially and we'll see how like he'll definitely play I'm sure a lot in this next preseason game to but I think that he has done enough to solidify his spot on the roster and I think a spot in the rotation for this for this defensive line group because they need it like realistically like outside of the top three guys you could argue the top two guys depending on how you feel about Larry jby who Grant did have a nice pass rush win in the game like he he looks fine but outside of those those three like there's really no one else that you know for a fact is going to be a really good player in that group you hope Dean Lowry when he gets back fully health and I expect him to to make the team we'll talk about that with 53 man roster but you need somebody with some juice right in the interior and I think he has that and you obviously there's questions about can he be on the field in run downs and you know is he going to always play in tier can they throw him on outside linebacker a little bit is like a you know run defending Edge like he does provide that value there too and ultimately I just think that his play so far the preseason is what you wanted to see for a guy that was kind of on the roster bubble coming into the air yeah I agree I think that he's doing everything in his power to solidify that that roster spot for himself I would point to Mason McCormack as like the lone bright spot on that offensive line you go back all 22 it's impressive like the guy is strong he's got he's got trads and I'm excited uh if he can progress like he's not ready to start to start but I think that there's a chance for him to be that guy uh next year if he continues at this rate I also want to point out uh some of the cornerbacks like Cory tce Jr had another run stuff this year in two I put it the stat on Twitter Shane in two preseason games so far Tri has played 47 snaps on defense he's allowed two receptions for four yards he actually allowed a six-yard reception this past week but the week before that he had a two-yard tackle for loss uh in his coverage so I mean two yards a Target I'll take that any day of the week two tfl and a run stuff absolutely uh Darius Rush had a pass breakup In The End Zone Thomas Graham Jr had one flying across the middle of the field covering drag route showing up so yeah I I'm I am optimistic about the backup Corners if they're in the event of an injury I think that they're showing what they need to show we don't have to worry about Anthony aett anymore hopefully we can find work somewhere else well we we shared our thoughts on on him before it looked at one point like he was uh in the fast track of making the roster and that kind of just went downhill these last couple of weeks and got got exposed but uh so those are my winners there how about someone from the opposite side not named brck Jones or the quarterbacks we just talked about Shan a little loser list man um I I think really just the everyone on the offense outside of like you said McCormick played pretty well but like the offense just every kind of like said nobody really showed a lot on offense at all it's really depressing how how much we just didn't get anything out of the offense General like I'm just not inspired by these receivers like outside top guys I I really I Wilson needs to be back healthy Austin needs to be a big part of the game plan like Jefferson I think is fine he had the one nice catch like that's what he's going to do he's going to be The Possession receiver you get open eight to 10 yards down the field you hope that he can catch the ball like it it's it's tough It's it was tough to watch I'm not gonna lie it was just really tough to watch this offense try to do yeah really anything well the the running backs didn't have as good of a game this week like the backup guys especially um I'm still interested in dwan Edwards a little bit like I'm I feel like he's a pretty good player but I just feel like he's probably more a practice squad guy so like you know what it is I don't I just it's tough to find like a specific person though because the whole offensive group just kind of disappointed yeah I don't disagree with that assessment at all Calvin Austin never got on the board with a reception in this game he would have a much bigger pre-season overall just like give me like six catches for 80 yards in a preseason game like he I think he had two two receptions in in the first week and nothing this time around I think he's a solid P returner we already know that he can he can excel in that area of his game I want guy that they can they can count on in the passing game so not don't get a boost of Confidence from what we've seen from him so far I thought Steelers run defense was a little bit spotty at times I thought they had some bad moments in there as good as they played overall there's some some sketchy moments for sure and if you read into uh PFF grades at all Isaiah Loudermilk had a 29.3 g [Music] grade yeah he uh he's not doing himself any favors let me put that way no they definitely have some decisions to make right down at the bottom of that depth chart I'll be interested to see what they do and interested to see your predictions here in just a little bit all right Shane let's talk about the Steelers versus Lions preseason finale real quick I'm not going to get when we do this during this regular season we're gonna dive into some matchups like big matchs to watch we're not going to do that for a preseason finale we don't even know who Detroit's going to roll out there so in on a typical game if these two teams play each other uh the Lions have an awesome offensive line and so we could we could talk about steart pass rush against that offensive line I'm guessing that they're going to be content with just kind of playing their backups and and rolling with uh what they've got going into the season the Steelers however I think they want to see more I think Tomlin needs to see more I think they they've already said these starters they're going to play their starters here so I think most of these guys are going to be deployed obviously we need to see more uh from from brck Jones we need to see more from the two quarterbacks what else are you g to be looking for uh in this game here on Saturday if they are going to play the starters the offensive line has to just they have they have to dominate the backups for the Lions especially if the lions are playing pretty much entirely backups if you can't I don't care if it's preseason I don't care if you're not run your normal plays if you do not get some drive going in the Run game if you do not lock down and pass protection against the backup lines again their defensive line in particular backups if they're playing entirely backups for the most part is not the best depth in the league by any means I like their starters for the most part but the depth is certainly questionable if you can't dominate that group and you can't put some points on the board while the starters are out there it's just going to be a red flag it is like you just you can't continue to see them struggle so bad just to do anything well because again you're running a vanilla playbook in some ways that should make it easier for you to to kind of do what you're doing a little bit but General they need to show some push in particular because the Run game is going to be so important for this team with how the quarterback play looks so far if you can't push people off the ball at least and get get going in the zone Run game especially get out in space make correct blocks this is going to be a tough start to the year yeah absolutely I mean they need to just come out and pulverize the other team uh if they're if the lions are not playing their starters especially we we we've got to see Improvement we got to show signs of life here a couple weeks away from the NFL season so don't disagree with that at all uh I would point to also Shane just watching these really like back end of the roster battles here like who's going to take these final three or four spots on the roster um and even like some of these practice squad guys like it's in the event of an injury you got to move someone up and and Things Can Happen obviously yeah I don't get as excited about the practice squad as some people do I know even even some of our writers get more excited about the practice squad I mean because I know how what limited usage they they have in in most situations uh but you still want to make sure that you've got depth somebody that you can call up if if Jaylen Warren or nii Harris goes down for the season teres in ACL do you have a running back is this Edwards a guy that you can call up is it Pete Ryan who's going to separate themselves from that group there John Ward um so I would looked at that position I would look at the bottom of the receivers there little cluster there between I I I think Scotty Miller uh quz Watkins is trending down man he's he has not looked good but desfit Patrick is coming off a decent game can offer some special teams like who's going to get gain that uh that edge in the final uh preseason game here at wide receiver because after the game you literally have three days and by Tuesday uh at 4M I believe all those roster moves have to be made like you have to cut down your roster so this is that one last chance for those guys uh in the secondary same thing maybe one spot up for grabs maybe between a Darius Rush a a Thomas gaham Jr we'll see how that goes uh I think linebackers pretty well situated at this point um I don't think that anybody's probably going to threaten Mark Robinson he had a solid game as a run Defender last week yeah he did and he's been there and he's played a couple hundred uh special team snaps last year so um and then the edge four spot which we'll talk about here I don't want to give everything away uh in our in our roster predictions but in general Shane I'm gon to be looking primarily at these positional battles obviously I want to see if the starters play you better show me something good out there on offense but particularly and then it's the positional battles like who is going to gain the edge one last time before all the Steelers coaching staff run office convenes to make these roster decisions and say all right uh these are the 40% of our rosters getting thrown back on the pile and these are the 53 guys that we're keeping yeah and that that's aw what this game is about right it's really more about it's supposed to be granted the Steelers are going to play some guys because they haven't seen anything that they want to see but it's really more for the back end of the roster who do you trust to be that 51st 52nd 53rd player who do you trust to be the first guy come up in the practice squad who do you want to make sure you get on your practice squad like that's what this is really about was supposed to be about with week three of the preseason now with the new format so ultimately that's what I'm caring about most too because yeah if the starters suck I'm going to be disappointed but like I really won't know until the season starts because again last year if if you took what we did in the preseason You' have thought we went 17 and0 last year so you know what do we really know at the end of the day with CRA but I still want to see something positive out of that group just because that's good momentum to have but if we don't it's all then about who is pushing for those final couple spots agreed agreed all right Shane let's move on to our 53 man roster prediction one more time if you are joining us in the live chat and you would like to drop a question in here for us uh Shane and I will see if we can answer that for you and if you are a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers don't forget to support the still curtain podcast please consider subscribing to the still curtain podcast on YouTube please like this stream let's bring other 800 recently little over 800 now so we trying to get to that thousand Mar we are we are quickly approaching there so we're pleased get all right Shane let's do this roster prediction this is going to be our final one on the YouTube channel and then I may put out one more I I may cheat and put out one more uh after after the third preseason game yeah because we don't go live again on this show until this time next week and then it'll be too late so yes but as of now a few days away from the Steelers preseason finale we're going to give our best estimate we'll see how many of these players we can get right here on the roster and a few curve balls thrown at us like the Nate her big injuries we'll see how that impacts our roster prediction so Shane do you want to go position by position or do you want to do your prediction my prediction I think I think it'd be more interesting to go position by position with both of us just so we can see the one the differences and two we don't have one of us just like all right and running backs and and then it's just like we're just one of us is just sitting here like oh well all right let let's go position and I'll let you go ahead and take the lead and go ahead and start us off with your quarterbacks and I think that one's pretty self-explain yeah I mean it's going to be Fields Wilson and Allen unless they were to decide they don't want to have Allen as a third quarterback for some reason I think he's fine to be the third quarterback um so I think you know Phils wils will be active Allen will be the inactive quarterback that can still technically that whole thing we know how that is now and and ultimately who that ends up being as starter we'll find out but again I do think it'll be Wilson but those three should make the team yeah that's absolutely I mean I would be florid if it was if it was anything other than that I think that they're going to trust Allen enough to be that third guy and hope that they never has to call on him it's GNA be fields or Wilson at the helm uh for all of the season one of those two guys a combination of both most likely on most likely unfortunately uh let's do running backs how about we alternate this thing here and I'll go and then we'll we'll keep switching so running backs you can throw the fullbacks in here if you want with this one too and I did not okay so I'm going to go nji Harris Jaylen Warren codell Patterson I don't have a true fullback like a jack ketto being kept this year I agree wholeheartedly I will say Edwards has a little bit of I really think he's played well enough for like if they don't think Patterson has enough juice left which again we haven't seen much of him at all in the preseason but he is a veteran so maybe that's on By Design um especially being an older player playing that position but if for some reason they don't think Patterson has it anymore I think the first guy that would be kept outside of him would be Edwards right now dwan Edwards and I like Edwards like I just like the way that the guy runs he he reminds me a little bit of Jaylen Warren but just the just he's the short compact back choppy fast steps he breaks arm tackles easily so didn't get much opportunity but yeah I'm interested to see and at least I I would like him as a practice squad for sure I think he will be one if if not all right Shane this one we might have some discrepancy for the first time let's see wide receivers who do you got how many are you keeping first of all and five I'm starting with five I'm I'm five as well so I think with an offense like this I think five is enough to start the season with so I went five uh pickings of course Jefferson uh Roman Wilson Calvin Austin and I do have desz fist Patrick as my fifth receiver I think the Special Teams value is there more with a guy like with him than Miller or Watkins obviously I just think he's he's played better than those two in my opinion so far so I'm gonna give the no to him but if not it' probably be Miller would probably be my fifth guy right now outside of that Shane I've got the exact same five and before this before this this previous preseason game I did have Scotty Miller there over Fitzpatrick I changed my mind at the last second and the reason that I'm doing that at least for now I is because Fitz batrick gives you some of the Special Teams ability he has an outside receiver whereas is more of that that kind of hybrid guy deep threat if he's on the outside I don't think he's like he's not going to get open consistently against press you kind of have to play him as like off coverage or off the line with him so I I know what you're didn't there it kind of came down to a body type game for me like can you have Calvin Austin Roman Wilson Scotty Miller like that's a lot of overlap there similar roles so I went with Fitzpatrick as that final spot um and we'll see if we can get SED one way or after this preseason game but that's what I'm going with all right the tight ends here I've got four and they are Pat fouth Darnell Washington Conor Hayward and Michael puits puit over Rodney Williams I think that one was pretty easy uh that final spot there yeah me as well I will say Williams I think uh is going to be a better special team player if they were to keep him over PR but you got to keep at least one outside of Patterson obviously is kind of that guy but you gotta keep an Arthur Smith guy around right Michael pu he's got to play for Arthur Smith I mean what's he gonna do what else is he gonna do every day if he's not playing for Arthur Smith so no I do think it's going to be those four I think Hayward of course is like kind of the guy that people were like well ketto is really good maybe Hayward is a really good player he's he's a fun player I think he needs to be on the team so those are the four for me as well yeah Shane if if Hayward was like 6'4 65 he be could be a top 10 tight end in I think that's what's holding him back like his hands are so good he knows where to be all the time he runs good routes he just he does everything right when you're 5'11 238 like you're just not going to be you're not going to be a guy that can be used all the time so right I do like the collection of what they have going on Darnell was fun to watch this summer too like he was might better left tackle than Dan Moore would be anyway maybe just play him there instead of if Jones is isn't ready like play him not not not far off sizewise anyway so all right Shane this is the one I'm really interested to see your offensive line do you want to give me like all of these guys how many total offense of linemen do you have you can you can do it however you want to but break it down positional group or or best worst whatever how many do you have I have nine I have nine guys right now to make I went with nine as well okay all right let's hear it so of course we'll start with the projected starters that you know we should be seeing in week one of course Broger Jones Troy fanu Isaac sialo James Daniels Zack Frasier so that should be your your starting lineup obviously McCormack is kind of my right now top backup in my opinion I know he's rookie mid- round pick but I think he's the best player on the bench at this point um no that's Dan Moore uh Dan Moore of course is the backup tackle uh Spencer Anderson another interior backup player and then the last position here I have McCollum right now because Dylan cook is banged up it seems but I do think if Cook is healthy before the season starts and before they have to cut down I would keep cook over McCollum because I trust that the combination of mccormic and Anderson is good enough at backup center unless they make an outside addition so to me it's if if uh he's healthy and if not McCollum stays on the roster to start the year Shane that was my exact nine as well for the same exact thought process Cook's injured he's been seen in a walking boot at practice these past couple days is that enough I don't know do they need another true Center like McCollum I'm not I don't think that McCollum is anything special if I did McCollum in there which I have as my ninth and final spot it's more of just a name placeholder it's a placeholder they go out get get another Center or if Cook's healthy like we said like I think it's going to take something a combination of not wanting to get another Center and cook not being healthy the start of the Year from colum to make the initial 53 but I think as soon as either cook is healthy or they find another backup at that position he will then move to either practice squad or cup candidate so and that's fair that's fair and so we are 100% match when when it comes to offense so far let's see I mean the offense is kind of cut and dry for the most part there isn't a lot last wide receiver spot and the last offensive lineman spot I think those were the two that were in question and we we ended up agreeing on those so let's go defensive line here Shane I've got seven uh interior Defenders I've got cam Hayward Keanu beton Larry Ogen Joby Dean Lowry montravius Adams de Marvin Leal and Isaiah lerm I end up going with the both of them I used an i i devoted a seventh spot and I went with uh the cluster of the guys that means that Logan Lee misses is the roster yeah I agree with Logan Lee being a practice squad player I think is what's going to happen with him I think he needs time to kind of build up his body a little bit more at the NFL level before he can really play a true interior spot but I have six interior defensive linemen okay so that that is where we are going to differ first I have Hayward Benson noen Joby low leil and Adams I do not have lder milk Mak the team I just think he's kind of bad at this point off offense Isaiah um I don't think he's a good enough player to make 53 man roster currently with the group that they have here if you're going to keep six now if you keep seven he would be the seventh guy because again I think Lee needs some time to build up his body but I just I don't think he's shown enough in the preseason to Warrant a spot unless they just feel they need to keep seven go yeah and I don't disagree I don't I don't think he's necessarily shown it either that's just my hunch take at least as what the Steelers will do maybe that spot there and if they don't I mean there's obviously there's other places you can go with that you can keep an extra defense back uh they never four Edge players but yes so I'm interested to see who that guy ends up being uh go ahead and give us your your Edge rushers your outside linebackers here this is another spot where I think we could either differ or that I think could be different depending on who you ask but uh watt high Smith and herbig of course and then I still have Moon as my fourth guy I think Johnson is a better pass rusher we've talked about that I think he's definitely much more explosive he's smaller like six foot one of those types of pass rushers but I just would rather if I'm building the roster and I think K of Steelers might feel the same way with the back end of that group having a fullsize edge player at that fourth spot I think would would be what I would do and then hopefully Johnson can with the new practice squad rules I know he could stick on to the roster because I think he's got a couple years experience technically but hopefully you have him as like if herid goes down or another or if one of the actual true pass rushers go down then you can bring him up or something like that but Moon would be my pick currently yeah I like your logic there Shane I did go with kir Johnson though and I think that's honestly possibly more likely so yeah and well what what kind of tipped my hat was when I was watching this preseason game it's it's Johnson who's out there with Nick herig yes and the starting defense obviously know Waton heith playing in the preseason there so seeing that seeing him run with the first teams and having a couple nice reps like he had a nice inside he was grabbed around the waist should have been a holding call I think and he got I think a pressure maybe two pressures depending on how they credited that one but I thought he had a solid performance and I don't think he's done anything to lose that positioning there even though in my previous one a couple weeks ago uh I had Moon there as well I flip-flopped here I'm back to Kiren Johnson now all right Shane uh let's do the off ball linebackers here I have five of them Cole hul does not count against this because going to be he's going to be on P and so uh we'll see if he ever comes back like I don't know what the extent we just we're not hear anything from him yeah we don't know right now so I'm guessing that you and I have the same five then it's Patrick Queen Al Landon Roberts Payton Wilson Tyler mavage and Mark Robinson are the five yeah I I agree I think that uh Jacob wendam has been pretty good in the preseason but I think that Robinson has done enough to keep that spot with the Special Teams value that he has and his experience doing that so and of course Med cage the same way where he's more of a special teamer than a linebacker at this point probably but I think like obviously he can still play linebacker just don't want him to so I think Robinson is more of that middle ground of like you can play linebacker but you really want to play special teams so I I do think those will be the five and then I would assume depending on who's playing better on the special team side of things either medich or Robinson would would be cut to make way for bit uh for hul if he's healthy enough to come back at some point Y I agree and if if a linebacker were to go down a Patrick queen or whoever goes down this year I think you're going to see a lot more sub package I don't think you're hope necessarily to see Mark Robinson or mat cavage out there on I hope so all right Shane we know we have at least one player off on this one because here's your devoting an extra spot to cornerback I'm going with five cornerbacks and I I went back and forth this was my my other choice if I didn't keep Leal I was keeping a sixth corner like that was it was my it was an easy choice for me uh louder milk excuse me yeah if I didn't keep louder milk I was keeping a sixth corner so my five corners are I went the last one you go first and then we'll see where to the differences so of course Porter Jr Jackson I have Trice Darius Rush Thomas G Jr and I am keeping beanie Bishop in this case to be a slot option especially with the injury to Grayson Arnold Cameron Sutton being starting the season on the suspension list I think that even though Bishop hasn't had the greatest preseason obviously and I think he might still be also a little banged up I heard possibly I I have to double check that but I do expect him assuming health is there I do expect him to be on the roster to start the year okay yeah this one I I scratched my head at this I went back and forth I thought of a few different uh outcomes in terms of how the Steelers could be thinking about this but my five players are Joey Porter Jr Dante Jackson Corey tce Jr beanie bishop and Darius rush for my final spot that leaves Thomas off the list and I like I I like that his preseason I thought he had a good summer uh but he doesn't make that cut if I just go with five cornerbacks right I preference and I would hope Shane my hope would be to keep Darius rushy just has more upside I mean when you're you're 62 200 pounds with 33 and a half inch arms you run a 436 like there's a lot to work with there like just keep keep at it because I think that we've seen some strides from him uh I'd rather have that package than what Graham offered and that's kind of why I went with that the problem with with how I have my quarterback Shane there's only one slot Corner in there there's one nickel guy and that's beanie Bishop an a completely unproven guy and so that's the issue that I came up with this whole this whole roster prediction that's my biggest issue is keeping one guy that can play nickel corner until Kim Sutton gets back from suspension yeah and that's one of the reasons why Graham Jr um why I wanted to have six corners is because I think he has inside outside versatility a little bit and I think that between him and Bishop I think you could get at least good enough nickel play depending on the matchups like I think Graham better running with guys down the field a little bit more athletic Bishop more of that kind of play close to the line type of guy so I I do expect that to be what they do I really do just because I think again having one true nickel just doesn't sit right with me although they kind of don't seem to care too much about that spot which is frustrating to me but again once Sutton gets back too we'll see how he plays and how he fits in so that'll impact things as well I I completely agree with your mentality like if I was choosing I would devote the extra spot there yeah instead of to the defensive line where we don't think that louder milk is anything special obviously uh I I think it's more important to have the depth and have another guy that's got versatility in the secondary that can play some nickels so uh but I did cut back one spot there yeah I wouldn't be surprised if that's what they do though because it's the Steelers and some a position sometimes that that's right that's right so and they've done both they've kept five they've kept six yeah for my safeties Shane I've got five safeties and I've got Minka Fitzpatrick deshun Elliot Damonte KY miles kbu and Ryan Watts I think Watts has shown enough versatility where he can play some dime but primarily be a special teams guy until they feel more comfortable uh giving him some sub package work I have full agreement there those are my five as well I do think that again Watts showed enough in the preseason I think he's able to play some defense if need be showed the ability to do that but again I think he's with his athleticism although he's not necessar a speed guy very good athlete all around and I think he will be a really good special teamer for this group as as well all right Shane and that leaves us to just the specialist we're at 50 I wonder who those are going to be so go ahead and fire him off for us H it'll be a good old Chris Boswell uh the very explosive punter Cameron Johnson apparently like just unbelievable preseason game that was the brightest spot of so far best best player on on the field every time he was out there and then uh of course Christian Co rounds out the Long Snapper position yep I am going with those three as well I until proven otherwise there's no reason not to the first two are completely set I know that they had had teased kind of try and Logan leave with some long snap not happening though you're not you're not taking him over a true Long Snapper who has years of experience like that so those are the predictions so if if you guys have any other predictions uh anything that you think that we missed on or prediction you think that you'll be right uh that we didn't touch on drop those down in the chat I'd love to see your roster predictions as well uh please remember that we go live on this show every single Wednesday at 1:30 PM eastern time also be sure to check out Josh your's show uh at 1:30 pm on Mondays so you'll be able to to see his show uh typically right after the Steelers play football and he's gonna have some great reactions for you I definitely want to try to jump on there too hopefully all of us both of us will be able to occasionally too with them we'll have to do a couple round tables for sure for sure for sure sure yeah all right thank you all for joining us on the show today you can follow Shane on
